There have been many ways offered as professional development (PD) for language teachers as well as conferences discussing its trends and alternatives. However, the world is facing CoVid19 pandemic that changes the context and media of English language teaching and learning in primary classrooms at present. Therefore, there is a need for novice teachers to be equipped by ways and opportunities in professional development that suit with the existing context and available media to apply PD. A preliminary cross-sectional survey was done in late July 2020 to get feedback on the ways primary English teachers of two private schools in West Jakarta did professional development. Possible solutions and opportunities are offered to assist them having a sustainable and meaningful professional development in the future during home-based learning (HBL) due to CoVid19 pandemic.The conclusion of the research is the primary English teachers have done various PD ways and need internal and external support from the school and local government mainly in the infrastructure, in order to provide the best possibility of the new learning experience with the students in the online classroom.

The learning capacity aims to bring multidimensional changes in human life aspects for the better. However, in the reality, both teachers and students struggle to carry out an effective learning process. Learning becomes meaningless which causes low conceptual understanding of students on what they learn. Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) is one learning model that can help students associate the lesson with their life context and make sense of things they learn. Therefore, this research aims to (1) elaborate on the significance of students’ conceptual understanding, and (2) elaborate on the effectiveness of CTL in improving conceptual understanding of primary students. The research method used is descriptive qualitative and the result shows that CTL is effective to help teachers carry out a meaningful learning experience to improve students’ conceptual understanding. It is recommended that (1) CTL can be implemented with various learning methods and media according to the learning environment and students’ characteristics, (2) apply CTL consistently in a period of time, and (3) manage the time well so all components in CTL can be performed as a whole.

Teachers as a facilitator is who facilitates students' needs to reflect on learning based on Biblical truth. The fact that happened in one of the Christian schools in Tangerang, there are a problem while teacher facilitating students in online learning. Therefore, teachers need to implement appropriate solutions to improve them. This paper aims to examine whether teacher personal reflection can assist teachers in carrying out their role as facilitators, which aims to find out the importance of personal reflection to help teachers as facilitators carry out their role in online learning. The method of writing uses descriptive qualitative. Personal reflection is a response to our salvation which is part of progressive sanctification to become more like Christ. Biblical truth is the basis for teachers' belief in reflection. As a result, through the implementation of personal reflection, teachers can find out problems then find solutions to correct mistakes when facilitating students in online learning. The conclusion is that the application of teacher personal reflection helps teachers to carry out their role as facilitators in online learning. The next writer is advised to use feedback from students to be the source of reflection

Bimbingan belajar dan rumah baca Rancabuaya merupakan bentuk kepedulian pendidikan bersifat nonprofit dengan mengerakkan para profesional Kristen dalam pengentasan daerah tertinggal yang didirikan oleh Yayasan Profesional Sinergi Indonesia di desa Rancabuaya. Peserta didiknya adalah anak-anak yang berasal dari keluarga prasejahtera yang tinggal di sekitar rumah baca Rancabuaya. Lokasi bimbingan belajar menyebar menggunakan beberapa rumah warga desa. Pengembangan kegiatan ini dilakukan bekerja sama dengan Service Learning UPH dan Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar - Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan - Teachers College UPH melalui kegiatan pembelajaran yang kreatif. Materi yang diajarkan disesuaikan dengan materi sekolah masing-masing anak-anak dengan metode belajar yang menarik. Peserta didik khusus usia PAUD / TK belajar dengan bermain, mendongeng, mewarnai, membaca huruf maupun angka. Pembelajaran SD sampai dengan SMP diajarkan memecahkan soal-soal latihan menggunakan buku-buku yang masih terbatas melalui rumahbaca. Pembelajaran bimbingan belajar dan rumah baca juga dikelola oleh mahasiswa dan alumni Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa

A weak level of economic capacity (marginalized people) does not only provide less opportunities for obtaining a qualified education at school but also opportunities outside of school. Parents are unable to provide additional course or tutoring class for their children which makes their children’s understanding towards the learning material at school even worse as a result, children do not like school, so it can be predicted that learning outcomes will not be optimal. Based on these needs, UPH-Teachers College held tutoring at Perum Griya Karawaci, Curug-Tangerang. This tutoring aims to provide provision in the form of additional learning and assistance for children to learn from kindergarten, elementary, junior high and high school levels. The material taught is adjusted to the school material of each student. The play-learning method will be applied to kindergarten-Grade 3 elementary school students while for grade 4 elementary school students onwards it will be adjusted to the material being taught. This tutoring activity is held in 2 meetings per week, and those who are teaching are students of the Faculty of Education - Teachers College who have been previously selected. The evaluation of this activity after running from the beginning to the middle of 2019 resulted that this activity helps students improve reading, writing and arithmetic skills for kindergarten-elementary school students and improves Mathematics skills for junior high school students.

Pandemi CoVid19 yang berkelanjutan dengan adanya pemberlakuan pembatasan kegiatan masyarakat (ppkm) mikro yang berkepanjangan menyebabkan bertambahnya pengangguran, pembatalan pembelajaran tatap muka bagi siswa/i sekolah dasar, dan sulitnya mempertahankan keberlangsungan serta kualitas bimbingan belajar (bimbel). Hal-hal tersebut dialami jemaat dan aktivis gereja usia produktif, baik yang belum berkeluarga, maupun yang sudah berkeluarga dimana para ibu rumah tangga sangat memerlukan kecakapan menjadi guru bagi anak-anak mereka di rumah ketika home-based learning. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari pelatihan manajemen bimbingan belajar yang juga mencakup pedagogi mengajar Matematika dasar serta Bahasa Inggris adalah untuk memampukan peserta membuka dan mempertahankan bimbel online, membuka lapangan pekerjaan bagi mereka yang terdampak pandemic dan memampukan para ibu rumah tangga mendampingi putra-putri mereka di tahun ajaran baru 2021/2022. Setelah melakukan needs analysis melalui e-form yang dibagikan ke peserta, para dosen pengajar tidak hanya membawakan materi manajemen pendidikan serta pedagogi pembelajaran Matematika serta Bahasa Inggris dalam pelatihan sinkronus sebanyak 4 pertemuan, tetapi juga memberikan pendampingan asinkronus selama 3 minggu, diberikan kepada 30 peserta melalui media zoom dan whatsapp. Hasil kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan telah memampukan sebagian peserta untuk membuka bimbel baru dan mendampingi anak-anak mereka belajar Matematika dan Bahasa Inggris di rumah menggunakan sumber-sumber belajar online yang otentik.

Lokasi Yayasan Shine Tiara Veritas sebagai mitra Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini terletak di daerah Kecamatan Cikande, Kabupaten Serang sekitar 43 KM dari kampus UPH Karawaci. Yayasan ini memiliki kepedulian yang tinggi dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran bekerja sama dengan Teachers College dan Service Learning UPH sejak 2018 dalam bentuk seminar. Kemudian, kegiatan diubah menjadi pembelajaran daring dalam bentuk webinar melalui aplikasi zoom meeting di tengah pandemic Covid-19 dari dosen-dosen Fakultas Pendidikan UPH untuk memberikan pemahaman terkait pengembangan kompetensi guru era digital di Indonesia. Metode pelaksanaan disajikan dalam bentuk 5 kali webinar dengan 2 sesi dan 2 materi per satu kali webinar. Peserta webinar adalah guru, kepala sekolah, dan orang tua se-Jabodetabek maupun se-Nusantara berdasarkan jejaring media sosial yang dimiliki. Target peserta ± 150 sd 200 peserta per webinar. Akhir dari kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) adalah menyediakan buku-buku cerita, rak buku, kursi maupun meja belajar anak dan media permainan untuk melengkapi sarana perpustakaan sekolah yang dijadikan pojok baca anak-anak sekitar sekolah.

Eagle Nest tutoring is a movement that cares about the importance of education for all circles, which started from 2017 until now. This tutoring service serves children who live in the Griya Karawaci area with middle to lower economic level (marginal people). Based on these needs, UPH-Teachers College held Tutoring at Perum Griya Karawaci, Curug-Tangerang. This Tutoring aims to provide debriefing in the form of additional learning and mentoring for children to learn from the kindergarten, elementary, junior high, and high school levels. The material taught is adjusted to the school material of each student. The method of learning to play will be applied to 3rd grade kindergarten-elementary school students while for 4th grade elementary school students onwards it will be adjusted to the material being taught. This Tutoring activity is held 2 times per week in the form of online learning, and those who teach are students from the Faculty of Education - Teachers College who have been previously selected. The results of the evaluation after running from the beginning to the middle of 2021 are that this activity helps students improve reading, writing, and arithmetic skills for kindergarten-elementary school students and improve math skills for junior-high school students. This activity can improve the ability of children in holistic tutoring, not only academically, but also in character. In addition, students who serve as tutors can also use this activity as a medium to practice teaching skills and their calling as adult teachers.

In carrying out the role, a teacher has difficulty managing the class so that learning does not run effectively. Class management is the problem faced by the teacher in the first teaching during field experience at a Christian school in Lampung. The purpose of this paper is to describe the teacher's efforts to adapt classroom management in achieving effective online learning. This paper had written through descriptive qualitative methods. Based on the study conducted, the adaptation of online classroom management had carried out by improving learning plans, improving teaching methods through lectures and discussions, and providing supporting material by Word, besides PowerPoint with sound and video. This paper concludes that the adaptation of classroom management helps teachers in carrying out online learning effectively. The suggestions given by the writer are (1) Adjusting strategies, methods, models, and time allocation with the teaching materials in the lesson plans, (2) Providing supporting material to easily accessible by students; (3) Providing feedback to students who are learning asynchronously via Facebook, Email, Google Classroom, and so on; (4) Visiting students if schools and students are unable to carry out online learning with permission from various parties (foundations, schools, parents, and the government).

Pada era pembelajaran daring, guru memiliki tantangan terkait manajemen kelas salah satunya dalam hal pengaturan waktu pada sesi sinkronus. Gangguan jaringan dapat menjadi penghambat keberhasilan RPP yang telah dirancang. Gangguan tersebut membuat pembelajaran menjadi tidak efektif. Model pembelajaran flipped classroom dapat menjadi solusi bagi masalah guru dalam hal manajemen waktu dan pembelajaran. Melalui model ini, siswa diberikan pengayaan di luar pembelajaran real time (sinkronus) sehingga pada sesi sinkronus siswa lebih difokuskan untuk membagikan dan menerapkan pemahamannya serta menerima umpan balik dan penekanan penjelasan dari guru. Model ini dapat didukung oleh metode mengajar yang menarik motivasi belajar siswa agar mereka mendapatkan pengalaman belajar yang bermakna pada sesi tatap maya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan cara guru mengimplementasikan model flipped classroom yang didukung oleh metode diskusi serta memaparkan hasil analisis mengenai pengaruh metode diskusi terhadap efektivitas manajemen waktu dan pembelajaran. Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Model flipped classroom dengan bantuan metode diskusi diimplementasikan pada sesi asinkronus dengan memberikan video pembelajaran terkait topik yang akan dipelajari pada sesi sinkronus. Sementara itu, pada sesi sinkronus guru akan mengadakan sesi diskusi sekaligus memberi ruang bagi siswa untuk menerima umpan balik secara langsung atas tanggapan mereka. Metode diksusi terjadi pada setiap sesi yakni sesi penjelasan guru, permainan dan beberapa latihan terbimbing. Pada akhir pembelajaran, guru memberikan tugas kepada siswa berdasarkan topik yang telah dipelajari untuk mengecek pemahaman mereka terhadap konsep pelajaran. Saran penulis adalah agar guru dapat mengombinasikan beberapa metode berbeda untuk diterapkan dalam pembelajaran dengan model flipped classroom tergantung mata pelajaran atau topik yang hendak diajarkan.
