Abstract

The problem found in the field is that HOTS or higher-order thinking Skills in Indonesia are not optimal. Teachers in schools are not fully prepared to implement assessments based on Higher-Order Thinking Skills. This study aims to analyze the strategy of integrating History learning based on higher-order thinking Skills in high schools throughout Yogyakarta. The study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research sample was selected sequentially from the principal, vice principal for curriculum, History subject teacher, and samples of grade X, XI, and XII students at SMA Negeri 3 Yogyakarta. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Furthermore, data analysis was carried out using Miles, Huberman, and Saldana's data analysis techniques, namely collection, condensation, presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study showed that the HOTS integration strategy in high schools throughout Yogyakarta consisted of planning, implementation, and evaluation. Second, the obstacles to integrating HOTS-based learning are related to human resources, specifically the ability of teachers to integrate IT-based HOTS, time allocation with unbalanced discussion materials, and student's ability to comprehend diverse materials. Teachers responded by turning obstacles into opportunities. The impact of HOTS is studied from the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. Each teacher has implemented unique and diverse teaching. The study's implications suggest that educational outcomes should prioritise the process and results of critical thinking, focusing on students who are knowledgeable and also morally and ethically intelligent.

Abstract

Banditry in Java during the Dutch East Indies period (1885-1930) emerged as a response by peasants to colonial oppression, particularly because of plantation expansion, labor exploitation, low wages, and land rights seizures. This background made banditry not merely a criminal act, but a symbol of social and political resistance. This study aims to determine the background of the emergence of bandits during the Dutch East Indies government, social bandit actions during the Dutch East Indies government in 1885-1930, and the efforts of the Dutch East Indies government in overcoming these bandit actions. This study uses historical research methods by collecting sources (heuristics), verification, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this study are the background of the emergence of Social Bandit actions due to the disappointment and dissatisfaction of peasants with various policies made by the Dutch East Indies government, such as the Forced Cultivation policy, liberal economy, and expansion of plantation companies. The bandits carried out their actions by stealing, burning plantations, and even killing victims. Bandit actions occurred in Surakarta, Yogyakarta, Batavia, Pasuruan, and Probolinggo. To suppress bandit actions, the Dutch East Indies government reorganized the police, held night patrols, and worked with the local government.

Abstract

Enhancing Historical Literacy and Critical Thinking through Primary Source-Based Inquiry: Evidence from the Jogja Library Center Tour. Objectives: This study aims to analyze the implementation of the inquiry-based learning model “Yogyakarta Library Center Tour” in history learning. It utilizes old daily newspapers to improve historical literacy and its implications for developing critical thinking skills.  Methods: This study employed an explanatory sequential mixed-methods design, focusing on history learning at SMA Negeri 9 Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The location was chosen not only because of its success in realizing the School Literacy Movement through history learning, but also because of the uniqueness of the teachers' efforts in introducing the potential of the Jogja Library Centre as a repository of primary historical sources. Data collection techniques were comprehensively conducted through tests, interviews, observations, and document analysis. Sampling involved several subjects, including 28 students in quantitative analysis and seven key informants, including the Deputy Head of the Curriculum, history teachers, and student representatives from SMA Negeri 9 Yogyakarta, in qualitative analysis. Findings: The application of the inquiry model in history learning can represent historical literacy pedagogy by utilizing contemporary daily newspapers, such as Kedaulatan Rakyat, Kompas, Suara Karya, Suara Merdeka, Bernas, and Sinar Harapan, which were published during the New Order and Reformation eras as primary sources. Improvements in critical thinking skills were demonstrated through N-Gain analysis in several indicators, namely chronological thinking (0.57), historical understanding (0.52), historical evaluation and interpretation (0.50), and historical research skills (0.48). Conclusion: This study proposes a new approach to history learning by integrating tours to local archives and utilizing old newspapers as authentic primary sources. Its significance lies in its concrete contribution to strengthening source-based history learning and supporting the School Literacy Movement contextually. Keywords: jogja library center, historical literacy, inquiry model, critical thinking skill.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah menyajikan analisis muatan nilai karakter kewarganegaraan dalam sejarah pergerakan Siti Walidah dan potensi integrasinya dalam pembelajaran sejarah. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam kajian kualitatif yang menggunakan model studi pustaka untuk mengidentifikasi maupun menganalisis data-data terkait nilai karakter kewarganegaraan dalam sejarah pergerakan Siti Walidah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) dalam sejarah pergerakan Siti Walidah terindentifikasi dua ranah karakter kewarganegaraan, yakni karakter privat meliputi (bertanggung jawab moral, disiplin, dan menghargai harkat dan martabat manusia) serta karakter publik meliputi (kepedulian, berkompromi, kesopanan, dan berfikir kritis) yang seluruhnya relevan dengan kondisi saat ini dan dapat dijadikan sumber pembelajaran karakter kewarganegaraan bagi generasi muda. (2) Dalam rangka memperkuat pemahaman serta aktualisasi karakter kewarganegaraan pada generasi muda, maka salah satu langkah yang dapat ditempuh adalah melalui aktivitas pembelajaran di sekolah formal. Potensi sejarah pergerakan Siti Walidah ini dapat diintegrasikan ke dalam capaian pembelajaran (CP) Fase F dalam Kurikulum Merdeka materi sejarah pergerakan Indonesia kelas XI SMA sebagai alternatif sumber pembelajaran karakter kewarganegaraan.

Abstract

Universitas Jambi merupakan salah satu perguruan tinggi yang ada di Provinsi Jambi. Saat ini, kampus mengupayakan adanya pengelolaan sampah untuk menjadikan kampus yang berkelanjutan. Pengukuran timbulan dan komposisi sampah Kampus Universitas Jambi sangat perlu dilakukan optimalisasi proses pengelolaan sampah saat ini. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis timbulan sampah dan komposisi sampah, menghitung potensi reduksi dan kegiatan pengolahan yang dapat dilakukan di Universitas Jambi Kampus Pinang Masak Mendalo, dan upaya pengurangan dan penanganan sampah dari sistem pengelolaan sampah berdasarkan timbulan dan komposisi sampah. Pengambilan sampel pada penelitian berdasarkan SNI 19-3964-1994 mengenai Metode Pengambilan dan Pengukuran Contoh Timbulan dan Komposisi Sampah Perkotaan yang dilakukan selama 8 hari. Berdasarkan hasil sampling yang dilakukan, data hasil pengukuran rata-rata timbulan sampah sebesar 1023,239 kg/hari. Komposisi sampah terbesar, yaitu sampah organik sebesar 66,94%, Dari hasil perhitungan, potensi reduksi sampah dari kampus sebesar 51,855%. Angka tersebut diperoleh dengan optimalisasi pengolahan sampah, yaitu pengomposan sampah organik dan daur ulang sampah anorganik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus terhadap pembentukan karakter pada peserta didik melalui pembelajaran dengan memperkenalkan tokoh-tokoh nasional sebagai penunjang untuk anak-anak meneladani perilaku tokoh pahlawan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perubahan karakter pada anak melalui pembelajaran sejarah yang telah diterapkan pada proses pelaksanaan. Metode pada penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif studi pustaka dengan cara pengumpulan data melalui pemahaman dari teori-teori dari berbagai literature. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan karakter merupakan faktor pelopor utama dalam pengembangan moral manusia. Kehadiran pendidikan karakter telah menjadi wajah baru berdasarkan nilai-nilai yang terkandung, yang mempunyai pengaruh besar dalam tatanan kehidupan sehari-hari. Pembentukan pendidikan karakter telah berkembang sejak lama di Indonesia, terutama diperkenalkan oleh Ki Hajar Dewantara melalui Taman Siswa. Proses pendidikan karakter pribadi meliputi pengenalan etika berupa nilai-nilai moral luhur yang kemudian dipraktikkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Implementasi pendidikan karakter yang dilakukan pemerintah Indonesia telah diintegrasikan ke dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di pendidikan Indonesia. Pendidikan karakter kolaboratif melalui pembelajaran sejarah merupakan salah satu proses pembentukan karakter. Hal ini mengarah pada pengaruh pahlawan nasional dengan memberikan kontribusi berupa nilai-nilai karakter yang dapat diterapkan dalam praktik khususnya pada anak-anak agar terhindar dari perilaku yang menyimpang dari standar yang berlaku saat ini.

Abstract

Differentiated learning is an effort made to align the learning process in the classroom to meet the learning needs of each student. Student needs are grouped into three aspects, namely; Learning Readiness (Readiness), Student Interests and Learning profile. The existence of differentiated learning facilitates a diverse classroom atmosphere by providing space to obtain content, process ideas and improve the learning achievement of each student, so that students can learn optimally. This research was conducted to find out about how differentiated learning is implemented in an effort to fulfill the learning needs of students at SMP Negeri 1 Palmatak in social studies subjects, so the focus of this research is social studies teachers and school principals. The research method used is a qualitative method - descriptive. The results of the research show that the implementation of differentiated learning in an effort to fulfill students' learning needs at SMPN 1 Palmatak, especially in social studies subjects, has been carried out by starting an agnostic test to determine the students' learning needs, learning interests and learning profiles. The implementation carried out has not been carried out optimally because differentiated learning is new for them. However, the implementation of differentiated learning is starting to be carried out with an approach to content aspects, process aspects and product aspects.

Abstract

This article discusses the variety of indigenous education in the Lampung Region during the Colonization Period. This study aims to reconstruct past events related to indigenous education in the Lampung Region during colonization. The results of the study show that the application of ethical politics had an impact on people's lives during the colonization period. Lampung, as one of the first colonization destinations in 1905, led to the relocation of 155 families. In the early period before the arrival of the colonists from Java, the people of Lampung had implemented a concept of education in the family with inheritance carried out by parents to their children and grandchildren. The entry of Hindu-Buddhist and Islam influenced them. The variety and education system in the Javanese and Lampung colonists experienced significant developments with the emergence of the Ethical Policy policy initiated by Van Deventer. Indigenous people's education in the Colonization area of Lampung was only obtained from First Class Schools (De Scholen der Ferste Klasse), which later developed into HIS, Second Class Schools (De Scholen Der Tweede Klasse), and Village Schools (Desaschool), or People's Schools (Volkschool) and Schools. Agricultural vocational (Landbouwsclfool or Cultuurschool) Lampung does not have ELS, Europesche Lagera School, HCS, Hollands Chinese School, or Shcakel School types of schools. Meeting the needs of secondary and vocational education is only obtained from schools in Java, Palembang, or West Sumatra because, in Lampung, there are no schools such as MULO, AMS, HBS, or Higher Education in the Dutch colonial period.

Abstract

Kelurahan Olak Kemang, Kota Jambi, menghadapi tantangan signifikan dalam pengelolaan irigasi pertanian akibat kerusakan sistem irigasi dan minimnya pemeliharaan oleh petani. Hal ini berdampak pada penurunan produktivitas padi hingga 50,8% di wilayah tersebut. Melalui program pengabdian masyarakat, solusi berbasis teknologi ramah lingkungan dikembangkan dengan mengimplementasikan sistem irigasi bertenaga angin. Sistem ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan efisiensi distribusi air, mengurangi ketergantungan pada bahan bakar fosil, serta menekan biaya operasional.  Program ini melibatkan metode partisipatif yang mengedukasi petani tentang perakitan, pengoperasian, dan pemeliharaan teknologi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan petani dalam mengelola sistem irigasi serta kesadaran akan pentingnya pengelolaan lingkungan berkelanjutan. Penerapan sistem ini juga terbukti meningkatkan efisiensi pengairan lahan sawah, menjaga produktivitas pertanian, dan mendukung ketahanan pangan lokal. Program ini menjadi model pengelolaan irigasi berbasis energi terbarukan yang efektif dan berdampak positif bagi kesejahteraan masyarakat.

Abstract

Anak dengan usia 1 – 3 tahun merupakan masa dimana edukasi dan disiplin perlu ditanamkan dengan cara yang menarik. Dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan di TK Al-Aqsha ini diberikan edukasi terkait sampah organik dan anorganik pada anak anak tersebut akan memberi hal positif berupa kesadaran lingkungan yang bermanfaat tidak saja bagi diri sendiri namun juga bagi lingkungan sekitar. Sampah menjadi barang yang sering ditemui oleh para peserta didik baik di rumah maupun di sekolah. Dengan melakukan pemilahan sampah berarti anak anak tersebut telah melakukan pengelolaan sampah awal yang akan memberi dampak yang baik bagi pengelolaan sampah selanjutnya. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kesadaran akan kebersihan lingkungan dengan jalan memberikan edukasi dini tentang sampah organik dan anorganik pada anak PAUD TK Al-Aqsha Kecamatan Telanaipura Kota Jambi. Luaran yang ditargetkan dari pengabdian ini adalah publikasi pada jurnal nasional, pada media massa (cetak atau online), serta video kegiatan yang akan diunggah di channel youtube LPPM Universitas Jambi.
