Abstract

Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) contains secondary metabolite compounds that can function as an antibacterial which can inhibit the growth of gram-negative bacteria. This study aims to determine the antimicrobial inhibition zone of purple varieties of okra extract on the growth of gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli). This research is an experimental study using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a disk diffusion testing method. The object used was purple okra fruit extract at concentrations of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, 100% with negative control of DMSO and positive control of chloramphenicol. Inhibition zone diameter measurements are indicated by clear areas, ie areas that are not overgrown with bacteria. The results showed that the most optimum inhibition zone of purple varieties of okra fruit extract was at a concentration of 40%, 50% and 60% with an average value of 6.67 mm.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini dilakukan di TPQ Darussalam desa Mojokambang Jombang. Santri di TPQ Darussalam masih mengalami kekurangan pengetahuan di bidang agama dalam penerapan dikehidupan sehari hari. Karena banyaknya santri dan kurangnya tenaga pengajar, membuat santri menjadi tidak fokus dalam belajar. Masih banyak kekurangan dalam membaca al qur’an dengan baik dan benar. Yang pada akhirnya, kesalahan pelafalan huruf dan tajwidnya menjadi sama dan tidak ada perubahannya, selain itu juga banyak dari santri yang masih belum mengerti do’a-do’a dalam kehidupan sehari hari dan juga bacaan sholat lima waktu. Metode pendekatan untuk pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah metode brain based learning. Metode brain based leraning dilaksanakan pada kegiatan pembelajaran setelah membaca al qur’an. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu observasi, sosialisasi, bimbingan dan evaluasi. Adapun respon Peserta terhadap kegiatan sosialisasi yaitu dalam aspek pemahaman, sebanyak 87,4% santri sudah lebih paham tentang asmaul husna, doa sehari-hari dan surat-surat pendek. Aspek pengetahuan, sebanyak 83,7% santri sudah mengetahui dan mempraktikkan asmaul husna, doa sehari-hari dan surat-surat pendek sesuai apa yang sudah disosialiasikan. Secara keseluruhan sebanyak 82,6% santri merasa sangat senang dengan adanya pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode brain based learning. Kegiatan ini dapat memberikan tambahan wawasan dan pengetahuan tentang asmaul husna serta memberikan inovasi baru kepada pengajar dan santri dengan pendekatan brain based learning.

Abstract

Polyploidy is a condition when the individual has more than two genomes, this polyploidy phenomenon is common in fern plants and one of the causes that is suspected to cause polyploidy events is cold temperatures. Therefore, this research aims to determine the level of ploidi fern vegetables (Diplazium esculentum) at different altitude in Semeru Mountain. This research is an experimental research using Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The object used is the Diplazium esculentum taken from different altitude (500 masl, 1500 masl, and 2500 masl) in Semeru Mountain. The next step is making the preparatory and chromosomal counts were then calculated on 5 root hood cells and each cell was counted for 3 repetitions. The data obtained were analyzed by one way Anova analysis with SPSS. The research results showed that there were differences in ploidy levels of Diplazium esculentum at different altitude indicated by F count (126.849) > F table 0,05 (3.885). Diplazium esculentum located at an heights of 500 masl showed the result of diploid cytological type (2n) which has an average number of chromosomes was 62.934; at an heights of 1500 masl indicated the result of triploid cytological type (3n) which has an average number of chromosomes was 80.334; while at an heights of 2500 masl has an average number of chromosomes as much as 106.4 with tetraploid cytological type results (4n). Thus it can be concluded that there is a difference in ploidy level of Diplazium esculentum at each altitude in Semeru Mountain.

Abstract

Teknologi pasca panen komoditas jeruk selama ini hanya berfokus pada buah jeruk, sementara kulit buah jeruk dibuang dan belum dimanfaatkan dengan baik oleh para petani jeruk. Kulit jeruk sesungguhnya memiliki kandungan yang bermanfaat sebagai obat dan ini dapat menjadi hasil samping bagi petani serta meningkatkan nilai ekonomi jeruk. Perlu dilakukan penerapan teknologi tepat guna terhadap kulit jeruk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat sediaan obat herbal instan dalam bentuk teh celup sebagai satu bentuk diversivikasi produk pertanian jeruk. Metode penelitian yaitu deskriptif eksperimental. Sampel bahan tumbuhan berkhasiat obat ada dua jenis yaitu cortice citrus dan folium camelia sinensis kemudian dibuat menjadi simplisia melalui proses pengeringan, selanjutnya dijadikan serbuk dan dikemas dalam tea bag. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi 50:50 cortice citrus : Camellia sinensis menghasilkan kualitas teh celup terbaik, dan penerapan teknologi tepat guna pembuatan sediaan obat herbal instan sebagai teh celup dapat diterima dan diterapkan oleh masyarakat sasaran. Abstract

Marine invertebrates are animals that do not have a spine, which live almost throughout the marine water area, but most species of marine invertebrates are numerous in coastal areas such as coral reef areas, This study aims to determine the type of invertebrates, diversity index, aquatic ecosystem conservation efforts. This research was conducted at Krakal Beach and Kukup Beach Gunung Kidul Yogyakarta. Data retrieval is carried out 2 times with a time differentiating system. The method used is a survey method with 3 stations on each beach, the total number of the two beaches is 6 stations. The results of the data collection of invertebrate types found were from the phylum Coelenterata, Arthropods, Mollusca, and Echinodermata. The diversity index on Krakal Beach in the morning is around 1.82 and at noon it is around 1.9 while at Kukup Beach in the morning it is around 1.72 and at noon it is around 1.71 so on both beaches it is still classified as a moderate diversity index, for ecosystem conservation efforts on both beaches are almost the same, namely by cleaning the beach, planting sea pandanus trees and sea cypress trees and establishing POKDARWIS security for the care of animals classified as almost extinct. Abstract

The people of Kalikejambon Village, Tembelang District, Jombang have several kinds of potential in the fields of agriculture, animal husbandry and natural resources. Therefore, during the Covid-19 pandemic, people must always maintain their health and hand hygiene. One of the things to maintain cleanliness is by using hand sanitizer. During the pandemic, the need for hand sanitizers continues to increase so that solutions are needed, one of which is by making hand sanistizers using natural ingredients. The ingredients used are betel leaves and lime. One of the uses of these materials is a bacterial killer substance. Both ingredients contain essential oils and anti-bacterial substances. The purpose of this service is to invite the community to innovate in using appropriate technology (TTG). The discussion and lecture method is carried out in this activity with intensive assistance. The results of the questionnaire for making hand sanistizers are that 70% of this activity can improve the community's economy, 10% of residents consider hand sanitizers as natural disinfectants and as community innovations, 8% practice skills, and 2% as experiences. However, in reality on the ground, it turns out that residents still need to learn and continue to practice their skills in making betel leaf extract and lime hand sinitizers. After this service activity, it is hoped that the community can practice skills in making the hand sinitizer. The public knows the importance of making hand sinitizer and can be made using natural materials so that people do not need expensive costs in using hand sinitizers.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran terrarium sangat membantu guru dalam menyampaikan materi ajarnya kepada siswa. Di desa Bedah Lawak masih ditemukan guru TK/KB mengalami kesulitan dalam mengajarkan ilmu alam, sehingga media pembelajaran ini menjadi solusi terhadap kesulitan tersebut. Namun banyak para guru yang belum mengenal dan memahami terrarium sebagai media pembelajaran terutama bagi siswa TK/KB, karena bisa memberikan contoh langsung tentang pengenalan lingkungan hidup. Dalam rangka pemberdayaan bagi para guru TK/KB di desa Bedah Lawak, maka perlu dilakukan pelatihan pembuatan terrarium sebagai media pembelajaran. Metode pemberdayaan dengan pendekatan Community Base Research dengan melatih para guru tentang pembuatan media pembelajaran terrarium yang didampingi langsung oleh narasumber berkompeten. Pengukuran keberhasilan program pemberdayaan dilakukan melalui pengisian angket diakhir kegiatan. Hasil dari kegiatan pemberdayaan guru menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan terrarium mampu meningkatkan pemahaman para guru sebesar 98,43%.  Hal ini berarti respon guru terhadap pembuatan terrarium sangat positif dengan keingintahuan yang cukup besar

Abstract

There are several agricultural areas in Denanyar Village, Jombang District. large distribution of refugia The purpose of this research is to explain the types of plants. wild, which has the potential to be a refugia in the rice farming area of Jombang District, explain relative density (KR), relative frequency (FR), relative dominance (DR), and important value index (INP) of refugia in the rice farming area of Jombang District and find out the results of the preparation of the e-catalog from the results of the analysis of plant vegetation. wild, which has the potential to be a refugia in the rice farming area of Jombang District. This study uses a quadratic sampling method with a plot size of 10 m x 10 m, which totals 10 plots. Results of research on plant vegetation analysis wild, which has the potential to be a refugia in the rice farming area of Jombang District. For the development of e-catalog teaching materials, 338 individuals, consisting of 11 plants, including: Mimosa pudica (Embarrassed Daughter), Eleusine indica (Grass reeds), Ricardia scarbra (coarse clover), Digitaria ciliaris (kebo grass), Ipomoea quamiochit (Earth detail), Amaranthus (Spinach thorn), Euphorbia hirta L. (Patikan seeds), green poinsettia (Green Kastuba), Bidens pilosa (Ajeran), and Ipomoea obscura (star white kale), and Ipomoea aquatica (Kangkung). The refugia Dominating the rice farming area is Eleusine indica (Grass Lulangan). Because in each plot there are these plants, so the relative density 100%, and the highest important value index (INP) at the weed level is 132.366%, while the level of shrubs is 88.145%. Research results later developed into an e-catalog that explains the types of wild plants that are potential as a refugia consisting of 11 plants consisting of Mimosa pudica (Embarrassed Daughter), Eleusine indica (Palm Grass), Ricardia scarbra (coarse clover), Digitaria ciliaris (kebo grass), and Ipomoea quamiochit (detailed earth), Amaranthus (spinach spines), Euphorbia hirta L. (patikan seeds), Green poinsettia (green Kastuba), Bidens pilosa (Ajeran), and Ipomoea obscura (Kale) white star), Ipomoea aquatica (Kangkung), along with its classification and description Morphologically, the e-catalog was developed with Wordpress.

Abstract

Preserving the environment is a form of love for the environment. Environmental conservation efforts can be carried out through various activities such as botanical exploration and the creation of botanical collections with economic value and their use for economic improvement. The community service activity program is expected to provide knowledge and skills to partners, namely MA Da'watul Khoir, in carrying out botanical exploration techniques and making botanical collections and can increase partner awareness in efforts to preserve the surrounding environment. This service activity also supports conservation measures and efforts to accommodate community needs regarding botanical collections that have economic value. In addition, this service activity also provides knowledge to partners about the introduction of types of trees in the partner school environment that can be used for making botanical collections. This counseling activity contains material on the importance of making botanical collections that have economic value using interactive two-way lecture, discussion and question-and-answer methods. This form of knowledge transfer is not only socialization but also practice. The results obtained from this activity are in the form of an understanding of partners in efforts to explore and conserve botany through the introduction of botanical collections that have economic value.   Menjaga kelestarian lingkungan merupakan salah satu bentuk cinta terhadap lingkungan. Upaya konservasi lingkungan dapat dilakukan melalui berbagai kegiatan, seperti eksplorasi botani dan pembuatan koleksi botani yang bernilai ekonomi serta pemanfaatannya dapat meningkatkan perekonomian. Program kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diharapkan mampu memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada mitra. Mitra yang dituju ialah MA Da’watul Khoir, mitra tersebut diajarkan dalam melakukan teknik eksplorasi botani dan pembuatan koleksi botani agar dapat meningkatkan kesadaran mitra dalam upaya pelestarian lingkungan di sekitar. Kegiatan pengabdian ini memiliki tujuan dalam menunjang langkah pelestarian dan upaya mengakomodir kebutuhan masyarakat tentang koleksi botani yang bernilai ekonomi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini juga memberikan pengetahuan kepada mitra tentang pengenalan jenis-jenis pohon yang ada di lingkungan sekolah mitra yang dapat digunakan untuk pembuatan koleksi botani. Kegiatan penyuluhan berisi materi tentang pentingnya pembuatan koleksi botani yang bernilai ekonomi menggunakan metode ceramah, diskusi dan tanya jawab yang bersifat interaktif dari dua arah. Bentuk transfer ilmu ini tidak hanya sosialisasi namun juga praktik. Hasil yang didapatkan dari kegiatan ini adalah berupa pemahaman mitra dalam upaya eksplorasi dan konservasi botani melalui pengenalan koleksi botani yang bernilai ekonomi.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran sains eksperimen merupakan salah satu media pembelajaran yang membutuhkan alat dan bahan yang sedikit lebih sulit didapatkan. Akan tetapi ternyata hal ini dapat disiasati dengan memanfaatkan limbah yang berada di lingkungan sekitar contoh limbah kaos kaki bekas yang dapat digunakan menjadi media pembelajaran sains eksperimen. Pada kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan bagi guru MI Madinatul Ulum untuk bisa memanfaatkan limbah sekitar yaitu kaos kaki bekas untuk dijadikan media pembelajaran berbasis eksperimen. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berlangsung selama 2 hari mulai 15 Agustus 2023 sampai 16 Agustus 2023 bertempat di MI Madinatul Ulum Mojokrapak Tembelang Jombang. Metode pelaksanaan dengan cara ceramah dan disertai praktek pembuatan boneka horti. Berdasarkan hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah boneka horti sebagai media pembelajaran berbasis eksperimen dengan memanfaatkan kaos kaki bekas ynag dapat meningkatkan keterampilan guru.Hasil jawaban 33 peserta dari 12 soal kuisioner bahwa rata-rata 1,515% memilih jawaban netral, 42,42% memilih jawaban setuju dan 56,06% memilih jawaban sangat setuju. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menjadi solusi atas permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh mitra dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang memanfaatkan limbah sekitar dan  memberikan alternatif pembelajaran sains eksperimen yang mudah, murah dan ramah lingkungan.
