Abstract

Indonesian Arts and Culture Scholarship (IACS), which displays Indonesian arts, and culture, is a program that the Directorate of Public Diplomacy holds for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. This program was started in 2003 and took place face-to-face until 2019. This program becomes an excellent opportunity for Indonesia to spread Indonesian values by forming nation-branding and creating a national image through soft diplomacy. This research analyzes how Instagram can play an essential role in promoting the 2019 IACS program so that the general public can know about this program. This research was analyzed by using the Circuit of Culture model. It is specified in Production moment to disclose how Studios and MoFA distributed messages through Instagram. By analyzing Instagram, we can find out how the account is managed and the content shared by the committee that holds the Instagram account. Data were taken based on interviews, social media, and government documents. The results are that MoFA does not use Instagram @iacs_kemlu well. It can be seen from the re-confirmation absence to the public regarding the date range of its program. As well as the minimal upload of documentation of the participants, MoFA is not carrying out the monitoring function regarding the inactive @bsbi_pdg account. Besides that, on Instagram @iacs.banyuwangi, Instagram management could be better. It can be seen on its Instagram account page.

Abstract

This study explores the lives of women who work as silk worm (Tubifex sp.) collectors in Batipuh Panjang Subdistrict, Padang City. Although this occupation is often viewed negatively by society due to its association with waste, dirt, and unsanitary conditions, for the women involved, it serves as a crucial source of household income. The research aims to describe both the socio-economic background of these workers and the daily work patterns they follow. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using literature review, participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. Informants were selected through purposive sampling, consisting of seven women collectors as key informants, and their family members and neighbors as supporting informants. The findings reveal that the main factors driving women to pursue this work include economic necessity, limited educational background, and social influence from their environment. Their work patterns typically involve balancing domestic responsibilities with river-based worm collection, followed by sorting, selling, and income management. The study highlights the dual and significant role of women in sustaining household economies, and illustrates how they adapt socially within the constraints of informal labor markets.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the causal-comparative relationship between the variable of APBD grant funding assistance and BAZNAS management performance. This study involved all BAZNAS in West Sumatra Province selected by total sampling with data sourced from PuskasBAZNAS publication. Simple linear regression analysis tested the comparative causal relationship between the two variables. The research show that the variable of APBDfunding does not affect to the management performance of BAZNAS in West Sumatra Province, but it is influenced by other factors, such as leadership, employees and organisational culture, availability of financial resources, governance, policies and strategies, technology utilisation, muzakki trust in BAZNAS, transparency and accountability, and local cultural values. The implication of this research is as a basis for future local government policy considerations in allocating APBD grant funding assistance, and for BAZNAS efforts to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of BAZNAS in zakat management.

Abstract

This research paper conducts an evaluation of residential satisfaction within government-provided four-storied apartment complexes situated in civil-servant housing areas in Naypyitaw City, Myanmar. As the construction of these apartment buildings continues to address the housing demands of civil servants, comprehending the determinants of residents' contentment becomes paramount. The study encompasses data collected from 500 households through structured questionnaires employing a multi-cluster sampling approach. These questionnaires utilize a five-point Likert Scale format to gauge residents' levels of importance and satisfaction. Gap Analysis is employed to scrutinize the gathered data, ultimately identifying seven pivotal attributes that hold the potential to substantially enhance residential satisfaction. These attributes encompass ceiling height, apartment layout plan, room and corridor dimensions, quantity of rooms, staircase design, neighborhood relations, and proximity to police stations. Based on these revelations, recommendations are tendered, advocating the modification and reevaluation of these attributes in forthcoming housing developments. This underscores the imperative need for creating a livable city by ensuring the provision of essential services in closed proximity to residential areas.
