Abstract

Domestic investors in the capital market until the end of July 2023 reached 11.4 million, and the increase in investors is seen as a positive development. However, on the other hand, Verdi Ikhwan, Head of the Research Division at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), stated that the level of capital market literacy has decreased from 4.92% to 4.11%. Meanwhile, inclusion has increased from 1.55% to 5.19%. It was also found that the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) imposed sanctions on two securities for conducting short selling transactions without the exchange's approval. These two securities are PT Reliance Sekuritas Indonesia Tbk. (RELI) and PT Valbury Sekuritas Indonesia. The literacy level significantly influences the choices of novice investors in their activities in the capital market, particularly those who use brokers in stock trading. In this research, two problem formulations are posed: "What are the Capital Market Crimes in Indonesia?" and "How is the Protection for Novice Investors Against Short Selling Conducted by Securities Brokers?" The research utilizes normative and descriptive-analytical research methods. The study concludes that prohibited capital market crimes according to the Capital Market Law (UUPM) include market manipulation, insider trading, front running, and short selling. The UUPM regulates prohibitions in the practice of capital market trading. It is essential to remember that these regulations align with the law's purpose of safeguarding public order established by official bodies

Abstract

Academics' Participation in Dispute Prevention in the General Election Process in Pelalawan Regency Abstract: One of the main problems in elections is inaccurate permanent voter lists, which can lead to inequality in citizens' voting rights. Inaccurate logistics, in terms of type and quantity, can cause election obstacles and harm the democratic process. Late and misdirected logistics distribution is a serious obstacle that can disrupt the smooth conduct of voting and counting results. Other technical issues involve the accuracy of information systems, budget adequacy, budget disbursement procedures, and the inability of ad hoc bodies to manage the electoral process effectively. In addition to technical issues, there are non-technical problems such as low voter turnout, money politics, intimidation, violence, criminalization of election officials, and low public trust, all of which require serious attention to maintain the integrity of elections. To anticipate and handle these conflicts, academics must increase their understanding of preventing election process disputes in the Pelalawan Regency.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the nutrient content of organic fertilizers (livestock feces combined with fruit waste) and its application to elephant grass. The experiment used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replicates. P0 = elephant grass (control), P1 = elephant grass + (rabbit faeces and fruits waste (RFAWF) 200g/polybag, P2 = elephant grass + goat feces and (fruits waste) 200g/polybag, P3 = elephant grass + cow feces and fruits waste 200g/polybag dan P4 = elephant grass + buffalo feces and fruits waste 200g/polybag. The research results showed that nutrient content of organic fertilizer (pH, C-organic, total N, P2O5, K2O, moisture content) was in accordance with SNI for rabbit feces and cow feces. The fresh weight and dry weight of elephant grass biomass was not significantly affected by treatment. Organic fertilizers containing animal feces and fruit waste mixture effectively increases biomass production compared to control. It was concluded that the best combination of fertilizer is resulted from goat feces and mixture of fruit waste (banana peel, pineapple peel and papaya peel) is compared to other feces. Key words: C/N ratio, elephant grass, fruits waste, organic fertilizer

Abstract

Abstract

Vegetables, including red chili peppers, play an important role in food and economic balance. Significant price fluctuations and inflation are often problems for farmers and traders. Garut Regency, as the center of red chili production in West Java, faces similar challenges. This research aims to implement a Multiple Linear Regression algorithm to predict the price of red chili peppers in the Garut Regency, highlighting the novelty of using a combination of One Hot Encoding, Feature Engineering, Standard Scaler, and Hyperparameter Tuning techniques. The method used is CRISP-DM with 6 stages: Business Understanding, Data Understanding, Data Preparation, Modeling, Evaluation, and Deployment. The data used is the price and production of red chili peppers per week in 2018-2023, with a total of 702 records. This research involved 8 trials with data transformation and normalization scenarios. The model evaluation used MSE, RMSE, MAPE, R-squared, and statistical hypothesis testing metrics. Results showed 5 significantly influential attributes: year, month, production, net harvested area, and productivity. The best model yielded MSE 202,134,650, RMSE 14,217, MAPE 29.16%, and R-squared 0.320. This approach is simpler yet effective and is able to provide fairly accurate predictions. This research is expected to contribute to providing predictive models that help farmers and traders anticipate price fluctuations, as well as provide insights for policymakers in price management.
