Increasing the abilities and skills of members in managing the tourism business sector and other related businesses. Meanwhile, activities that have yet to be carried out are related to the Pokdarwis guidelines: 1. Encouraging and motivating the community to become good hosts in supporting tourism activities in their area; 2. Encourage and motivate the community to improve the quality of the environment and local tourism attractions through efforts to activate Sapta Pesona; 3. Collect, process and provide tourism information services to tourists and local communities; and 4. Providing input to government officials in developing tourism in the local area. The conclusion of the research is that several Pokdarwis function activities still need to be implemented optimally, so further action is needed so that the Muara Konoco Lestari tourism awareness group can implement activities based on the Pokdarwis guidebook.

Abstract

Coal mining activities can cause environmental damage and high levels of water pollution. The research aims to determine the effect of coal mining on Kintap River water pollution in Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan Province. The research sample was Kintap River water which was taken in 3 samples based on depth per point at four observation points (1 near the coal mine pond effluent, and 2, 3, 4 each 100 m downstream) and analyzed at the Banjarbaru Environmental Service laboratory based on five quality standard parameters for coal mining waste, namely pH, TSS, Fe, Mn, BOD and COD from the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia Number 5 of 2022. Storet's calculation analysis is based on the Decree of the Minister of Environment No. 115 of 2003. The results show that the parameters that do not meet the quality standards are the pH and TSS parameters. The results of the Storet analysis obtained a value of -10 for the pH parameter and -8 for the TSS parameter, which means that pollution of the Kintap River water by coal mining is included in category B, which is lightly polluted.

Abstract

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve the capacity of high school geography teachers in Banjarmasin to develop digital-based learning media using Google Sites. The program responded to the limited use of digital tools in geography education, particularly in integrating spatial data, interactive maps, and local content. With the growing need for innovative, contextual, and accessible learning, the program involved stages of preparation, training, simulation, and mentoring. Google Sites emerged as a free, easy-to-use alternative solution. Google Sites offers the advantage of being an easily accessible, flexible, and free platform, making it an ideal choice for geography learning in the context of high school teaching in Banjarmasin City. A total of 30 geography teachers participated. The results showed improved teacher skills in designing integrated instructional websites. This highlights the importance of continuous training and technical support to enhance digital competencies among educators. Abstract

This study analyzes the role of a critical pedagogical approach in Social Studies education in strengthening students’ ecological awareness. The research employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method. Data were drawn from 27 selected scholarly publications sourced from Scopus-indexed journals and nationally accredited journals. These publications were analyzed through a conceptual literature review and qualitative content analysis to identify key themes related to critical pedagogy, Social Studies education, and ecological awareness. The findings indicate that critical pedagogy enables the meaningful integration of environmental issues into Social Studies learning by fostering contextual, dialogical, and reflective learning processes. Through the problematization of socio-ecological realities, students are encouraged to develop an understanding of the interrelationships between human activities, development policies, and their environmental impacts. This approach not only enhances cognitive understanding but also cultivates students’ critical awareness, environmental concern, and ecological responsibility. The study concludes that Social Studies learning grounded in critical pedagogy can function as a vehicle for social transformation by promoting ecological awareness. It further emphasizes the importance of shifting the Social Studies learning paradigm from memorization-oriented instruction toward meaningful, critical learning oriented to environmental sustainability.

Abstract

The DPRD recess fund is an important instrument for strengthening political representation and accommodating public aspirations. However, its effectiveness is highly dependent on the quality of regulation and the implementation of good governance principles. This study aims to analyze the legal framework governing DPRD recess funds, examine governance-related problems in their implementation, and assess their effectiveness in enhancing political representation and accountability. This research employs a qualitative method with a literature study approach, utilizing secondary data obtained from laws and regulations, books, and scholarly journals. The findings indicate that the implementation of DPRD recess activities has not fully reflected good governance principles, as evidenced by low public participation, weak transparency and accountability, and suboptimal responsiveness of DPRD members in following up on public aspirations. Furthermore, existing regulations still contain weaknesses in regulating fund utilization and sanctions, which create opportunities for misuse.
