Abstract

Peningkatan jumlah wirausahan muda di bidang peternakan merupakan tugas utama perguruan tinggi yang dapat dilakukan dengan pembinaan calon kader sejak masa perkuliah sampai kepada alumni. Usaha bisnis dibidang perunggasan tergolong sangat diminati karena permintaan konsumen akan produk unggas, baik daging, telur bahkan bibit semakin meningkat. Salah satu produk perunggasan yang mulai dikenal masyarakat yaitu ayam hibrida yang merupakn ayam hasil persilangan ayam lokal dengan ayam layer dan jenis ayam unggul yang berasal dari luar negeri. Ayam hibrida sangat potensial dikembangkan sebagai turunan ayam lokal yang mampu menghasilkan telur lebih banyak dan ukuran telur lebih besar dibandingkan telur ayam aslinya. Namun dalam proses pengembangannya diperlukan upaya dukungan dibidang pembibitan sehingga permintaan akan bibit ayam hibrida dapat dipenuhi untuk mendukung usaha komersial. Untuk itu telah dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam bentuk penyuluhan dan demontrasi langsung kepada 16 orang kader wirausahaan pembibitan unggas yang berasal dari siswa SMK, mahasiswa peternakan dan alumni peternakan dengan tujuan untuk peningkatkan kemampuan manajemen usaha pembibitan ayam hibrida lokal. Kegiatan ini berjalan selama 30 hari dengan pembekalan 4 materi utama dan demonstrasi berupa teknis perkawinan inseminasi buatan, seleksi telur tetas, pembuatan mesin tetas dan proses penetasan sampai pada seleksi jenis kelamin DOC hasil penetasan. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa 94% peserta berada pada katagori sangat menguasai materi yang diberikan dan 87,5% sangat menguasai kegiatan demonstrasi yang telah diberikan oleh tutor kegiatan. Sementara itu 6% peserta menguasai materi dan 12,5% peserta lainnya juga katagori menguasai kegiatan demonstrasi yang diberikan. Melalui hasil survei kepuasaan peserta menunjukkan bahwa seluruh peserta (100%) menyatakan sangat puas terhadap materi dan kegiatan demonstrasi pelatihan dan merasakan manfaat yang sangat besar terutama sebagai wawasan baru dibidang usaha peternakan. Peserta menyarankan agar dimasa yang akan datang, lama waktu pelatihan diperpanjang menjadi 3 bulan dan mencakup juga untuk jenis unggas lainnya seperti itik dan puyuh.

Abstract

This community service aims to socialize the shift in food patterns akinat gastro-colonialism in Baidub Village, Merauke. Gastro-colonialism has led to significant changes in people's food patterns from consumption of local foods such as sago, yam, and maize, to rice and processed foods. This has an impact on people's health and culture. This community service is carried out by community service methods, namely socialization to 300 residents of Baidub Village. Socialization materials include shifts in food patterns, the concept of gastro-colonialism, and the nutritional content of sago and processed foods. The results of community service show that the people of Baidub Village enthusiastically participated in socialization and began to understand the negative impact of gastro-colonialism. They are also motivated to return to eating local food, especially sago.

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Type 2 diabetes mellitus can increase the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and genetic transcription factors, such as nuclear factor kappa beta (NF-κB). These phenomena may enhance the progression of atherosclerosis. Additionally, NF-κB can induce apoptosis of pancreatic beta cells and accelerate disease progression. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the role of calcitriol and ascorbic acid on NF-κβ expression in vivo in aortic and myocardial tissues of Wistar rats. METHODS: This randomized experimental study involved 24 male Wistar rats of the Rattus norvegicus strain, divided into four groups: NC (negative control), PC (positive control), AG (ascorbic acid group), and CG (calcitriol group). The study spanned 90 days, including a 30-day intervention period. Aortic and myocardial samples were processed into histological preparations and stained using immunohistochemical techniques. NF-κB expression was assessed using an intensity scoring method. RESULTS: The CG group demonstrated the lowest NF-κB immunoexpression in myocardial tissue (0.27 ± 0.08), followed by the AG (0.37 ± 0.05), NC (0.68 ± 0.08), and PC (1.13 ± 0.34) groups, with statistically significant 3sbetween the groups (p < 0.05). In aortic tissue, the CG group also exhibited the lowest NF-κB expression (0.30 ± 0.18), followed by the AG (0.50 ± 0.09), NC (0.97 ± 0.05), and PC (1.23 ± 0.38) groups, with statistically significant differences between the groups (p < 0.05).  Similar trends were observed in the immunohistochemical staining of the NF-κB antigen in myocardial and aortic tissue samples. Calcitriol administration was more effective than ascorbic acid in reducing NF-κB expression in both myocardial (p < 0.05) and aortic tissues (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Both ascorbic acid and calcitriol reduce NF-κB expression in the aorta and myocardium, with calcitriol showing greater effectiveness than ascorbic acid.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang berfokus pada pencegahan dan penanganan bullying, kekerasan seksual, dan intoleransi bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran, pemahaman, dan mengatasi isu-isu kritis ini di lingkungan sekolah. Program ini dilaksanakan melalui serangkaian tahapan yang meliputi identifikasi kebutuhan, pengembangan materi penyuluhan, pelaksanaan pelatihan, dan evaluasi efektivitas. Dalam rangka mendukung guru, pelatihan ini meliputi keterampilan dalam menangani bullying, kekerasan seksual dan intoleransi, strategi komunikasi yang efektif, serta teknik manajemen konflik dan pengembangan keterampilan sosial. Selain itu, para peserta pelatihan juga diberikan pemahaman mendalam tentang hak asasi manusia, nilai-nilai toleransi dan empati, serta pentingnya membangun hubungan yang sehat di sekolah. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kesadaran dan pemahaman guru terhadap isu-isu tersebut, yang berdampak positif pada terciptanya lingkungan sekolah yang lebih aman dan inklusif. Kolaborasi antara semua pihak yang terlibat dalam penanganan bullying, kekerasan seksual, dan intoleransi diharapkan dapat menghasilkan perubahan yang konstruktif, mengurangi tingkat bullying, dan menciptakan lingkungan yang lebih baik bagi siswa dalam proses belajar dan berkembang.

Abstract

Training Program on Liquid Organic Fertilizer Production for Entrepreneur Cadres consisting of 20 members. The training aims to enhance the community's knowledge and skills in utilizing waste materials to produce organic fertilizer, as well as reducing dependency on chemical fertilizers. The training begins with the opening ceremony by the MC and delivery of materials, followed by the main activity of liquid organic fertilizer production training using compost as the main ingredient. Then, theoretical materials on the production of liquid organic fertilizer are provided. Subsequently, practical sessions or demonstrations on liquid organic fertilizer production are conducted. Participants are given opportunities for discussion and questions during the training process. This study provides valuable insights to support the management and development of Liquid Organic Fertilizer in Banda Aceh.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the project-based learning model (PjBL) using YouTube video media in student speech learning. The research subjects were carried out on class IX students in the odd semester of 2023. The research was carried out at SMP Negeri 3 Merauke, with a total of 37 students and the object of this research was speech skills. Data collection techniques use initial tests (pretest) and final tests (posttest), observation, and documentation. Data collection in this research was carried out by conducting tests, namely students' speeches before and after using YouTube media with reference to linguistic and non-linguistic aspects. The results of the research show that the use of YouTube media can improve speech skills and is very effective in teaching speeches for class IX students of SMP Negeri 3 Merauke with the results of comparing the average scores of students in the pretest and posttest with test statistics. t. It is known that the t-value obtained by t-test analysis is -8.627 with a standard deviation value of 7.260 and a p-value of 0.000. This means that there is an influence of the use of YouTube media on improving the speech skills of class XI students at SMP Negeri 3 Merauke.

Abstract

The low level of student literacy in understanding descriptive texts and the need to strengthen teacher professionalism constitute the primary foundation of this community engagement program. Instruction on descriptive texts in junior high school of Al Ma’arif NU Merauke has not fully utilized the potential of local wisdom, resulting in students’ limited ability to observe objects in depth and express their observations in coherent descriptive form. At the same time, teachers require systematic collaborative support to enhance their pedagogical competence and to design contextual and meaningful learning experiences. This program employed a two-cycle lesson study model, comprising stages of planning, classroom implementation, observation, and reflection to ensure continuous improvement of instructional practices. Each cycle emphasized the development of teaching materials grounded in local wisdom, the enhancement of classroom interaction quality, and the monitoring of students’ progress in comprehending and producing descriptive texts. The results indicate substantial improvement in students’ ability to generate more detailed, logical, and culturally relevant descriptions. Teachers also demonstrated increased professionalism through collaborative practice, improved reflective capacity, and refined instructional strategies across cycles. These findings underscore that integrating local wisdom through collaborative learning processes is effective in strengthening student literacy and enhancing teacher competence, and holds potential as a sustainable model for instructional development in elementary education.

Abstract

  This study aims to analyze the influence of parenting styles on the character formation of third-grade students at Darul Hikmah Elementary School in Makassar. The research uses a descriptive quantitative approach with independent variables in the form of parenting styles, including authoritarian, democratic, and permissive parenting styles, and a dependent variable in the form of character formation of the students. The research population consisted of 110 students, with a sample of 55 students determined thru simple random sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using closed questionnaires and documentation, while data analysis was carried out thru instrument tests, prerequisite analysis tests, and hypothesis tests with the help of SPSS version 27.0. The research results showed that all research instruments were declared valid and reliable, and the data were normally distributed. Multiple linear regression analysis shows a significant influence of parenting styles on the character formation of students, with a coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.955. These findings indicate that parental upbringing contributes 95.5% to the character formation of students, with democratic parenting being the most dominant style. Thus, it can be concluded that parental upbringing plays an important role in shaping the character of elementary school students and needs serious attention in efforts to strengthen character education.

Abstract

  Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a strategic role in shaping students' religious attitudes, especially in the context of communities with a strong traditional belief system. This research aims to analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education in shaping students' attitudes toward the Kajang customary beliefs at SMA Negeri 13 Bulukumba. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. The subjects of the research include students from the Kajang indigenous community as well as Islamic Religious Education teachers. Data collection techniques were carried out thru in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification, with data validity maintained thru source and technique triangulation. The research results show that Islamic Religious Education at SMA Negeri 13 Bulukumba plays an important role in shaping students' religious, tolerant, and moderate attitudes. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) not only serves as a means of transferring religious knowledge but also as a medium for the internalization of moral and spiritual values implemented in the daily lives of students. On the other hand, the Kajang customary beliefs based on the pasang ri Kajang are maintained as a cultural identity and a guideline for the community's way of life. This research found a pattern of coexistence and value dialog between Islamic teachings and traditional beliefs, where students are able to respect customs as local wisdom without neglecting the principles of Islamic teachings. Thus, contextual and culturally sensitive Islamic Religious Education has proven capable of shaping students' characters to be both religious and cultured.
