Abstract

This research is about local literature (folklore) and eco-literacy. It was conducted to find information of the alignment between folklore, literature learning in schools, and students' eco-literacy. This research used descriptive-qualitative research design. The data used for this research is in the form of answers from respondents about written questions that have been distributed online. Total respondents were 89 students from 5 schools (junior and senior high schools) in Bengkulu. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, presentation (description), and conclusion. The findings of this study are, first, Junior and Senior High School students in Bengkulu like folklores from their district. Most of these students like legend’s type folklore compared to other type stories. Currently, folklores can still be found in the community, although it is not easy because the spoke person are old and many have died. The content of Bengkulu folklores has values or teachings about nature and ecosystem conservation. Second, local literature is taught in junior and senior high schools in Bengkulu. Students enjoy learning literature, especially local literature. The last, the level of environmental literacy among students is still relatively low. This can be seen by the lack of students' attention for waste and environmental conservation. In this regard, learning literature and folklore in schools is in line with students' eco-literacy competencies. However, this has not been implemented optimally, so it is hoped that local literature (folklore) can give contribution in nature and ecosystem conservations by increasing the eco-literacy of students and society.

Abstract

The teaching modules should be carefully designed to not only cover the academic aspects of literature but also to incorporate elements that foster cultural understanding and appreciation. The goal is to create a comprehensive learning framework that allows students to explore literature in a way that is both intellectually stimulating and culturally enlightening. Therefore, this study aims to develop instructional module reflecting the didactic theories and local wisdom principles to facilitate students to practice writing short stories. These theoretical principles are integrated in the module components, namely in the material, training and evaluation sections, student activities in the Module, glossary, and Module illustrations/graphics. The research method uses the R2D2 (Reflective, Recursive, Design and Development) design. Characteristics of the R2D2 model include being recursive, non-linear, sometimes irregular, reflective, and collaborative. However, this model emphasizes learning in a meaningful context. Formative assessment is considered highly important. This research method emphasizes the subjectivity of the model developer. The research commenced with a reflective activity, which is the needs analysis phase, aimed at elucidating the gaps in short story writing instruction. To obtain accurate information regarding the issues at hand, the researcher engaged in a recursive process encompassing all components related to learning and the design of the short story writing module. The results of the research are a prototype of a short story writing module that can be adapted to other text genres in various literary learning materials.

Abstract

Self-regulated e-learning modules are an innovative teaching method to increase student success and results in light of the desire to include technology in nursing education and the rising demand for online training. According to a learning requirements analysis, the addition of a self-directed, self-paced e-learning module might give students a way to more adequately get ready for a scenario simulating pediatric dehydration with medium realism. Three members of the faculty—a faculty topic specialist, a faculty content consultant, and a librarian/instructional designer—were assembled into a collaborative, interdisciplinary project team. Using the notion of self-regulated learning, the team created an online learning module. The purpose of this module is to better prepare undergraduate nursing students for pediatric simulation. It is an asynchronous, standalone, self-paced supplement. The inclusion of an online learning module will improve student engagement with the subject matter and encourage greater self-directed learning.

Abstract

21st-century education requires learning to be carried out by utilizing technology. To fulfill the demands of the 21st century, teachers should be directed and encouraged to integrate the use of technology-based media into the process of teaching and learning. The present study aims to investigate the needs that inform the development of an application as a learning medium for writing poetry at the high school level. To achieve the objective, the study utilized a qualitative approach involving the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and data interpretation. The data were collected through a questionnaire and interview and analyzed using basic descriptive statistics and qualitative analysis. The results showed that 1) students and teachers expect that the teaching and learning of poetry will utilize technology-based media such as Android-based cell phones. 2) In the Mobile Cipta Poetry application media, the students confirm the helpful features offered by the application, such as diction selection, relaxation music, sharing works, poetry manuscript banks, and peer evaluations. These findings indicate that the design of the Mobile Cipta Poetry (MCP) application has met the students’ and teachers’ needs. The study concludes that the difficulty and lack of motivation that the students face during the poetry writing activity may occur due to the lack of technology-based media. Therefore, it is necessary to develop IT-based media that can support the poetry writing process in the classroom.
