Abstract

The community service program "Becoming a Beneficial Person: Character Education for Youth and Society" was implemented to address the declining public understanding of the purpose of life, which is oriented towards the value of usefulness. Modernization, individualism, and the influence of technology have caused adolescents and adults to increasingly distance themselves from the values ​​of caring, empathy, and social responsibility. This community service activity was conducted at the Al-Amanah Mosque in Pilahan, Rejowinangun, Kotagede, using an educational, participatory, and empowerment approach. Implementation methods included interactive lectures, group discussions, consultations, self-reflection, and the formulation of commitments to action. Evaluation was conducted through observation and pre- and post-test questionnaires. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of the essence of life's purpose; 100% of participants reaffirmed their understanding of the importance of being a beneficial person. Furthermore, 57% of participants acknowledged challenges in behavioral consistency, but all demonstrated a strong commitment to change and contribute positively to their social environment. This activity proved effective in building awareness, strengthening motivation, and revitalizing the mosque's role as a center for character education. This program has the potential to be developed through further mentoring, community collaboration, and the provision of more systematic character education modules.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh konsentrasi ekstrak daun singkong pada pembuatan kue dadar gulung terhadap kualitas fisik dan mutu sensoris. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Pengolahan Roti dan Patiseri Program Studi Tata Boga, Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah kue dadar gulung dengan konsentrasi ekstrak daun singkong 6:3, 6:4 dan 6:5. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis statistik uji kualitas fisik dengan menggunakan uji Anova menunjukkan bahwa pada aspek daya sebar (diameter adonan mentah dan matang) tidak terdapat pengaruh konsentrasi ekstrak daun singkong 6:3, 6:4 dan 6:5 pada pembuatan dadar gulung. Sedangkan pada aspek ketebalan kulit kue dadar gulung terdapat pengaruh konsentrasi ekstrak daun singkong 6:3 dan 6:5. Pada uji mutu sensoris sampel penelitian yang digunakan adalah kue dadar gulung dengan konsentrasi ekstrak daun singkong 6:3, 6:4 dan 6:5, kemudian diuji kepada 45 panelis agak terlatih yang menilai keseluruhan aspek. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis startistik dengan menggunakan uji Kruskal Wallis menunjukkan bahwa pada aspek warna dan aroma terdapat pengaruh konsentrasi ekstrak daun singkong pada pembuatan kue dadar gulung. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa semakin pekat konsentrasi ekstrak daun singkong maka warna dan aroma yang dihasilkan semakin kuat. Sedangkan pada aspek rasa daun singkong, rasa gurih, dan tekstur tidak terdapat pengaruh konsentrasi ekstrak daun singkong pada pembuatan kue dadar gulung. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa konsentrasi ekstrak daun singkong memberikan pengaruh terhadap kualitas fisik (ketebalan) dan mutu sensoris (warna dan aroma) pada pembuatan kue dadar gulung, konsentrasi yang dipilih pada penelitian ini yaitu konsentrasi 6:3 dengan ketebalan kulit dadar 1,4 dan kategori aspek mutu sensoris meliputi kategori warna hijau tua, beraroma daun singkong, memiliki rasa daun singkong, memiliki rasa gurih dan tekstur yang lembut.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya penguasaan materi bumbu makanan Asia dalam mata kuliah Makanan Asia bagi mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Tata Boga Universitas Negeri Jakarta, mengingat kompleksitas dan keberagaman istilah yang seringkali menjadi kendala. Pengembangan flipbook glossary daring ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan media pembelajaran yang interaktif, menarik, dan mudah diakses, sehingga dapat memfasilitasi pemahaman mahasiswa secara efektif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah model pengembangan Hannafin dan Peck, yang meliputi tahapan analisis kebutuhan, perancangan, pengembangan dan implementasi, serta evaluasi dan revisi. Kelayakan media ini diuji melalui validasi ahli (bahasa 79%, media 92%, materi 90%) dan uji coba mahasiswa (perorangan 88%, kelompok kecil 90%, lapangan 91%), yang menunjukkan hasil positif. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, flipbook glossary daring yang dikembangkan terbukti layak dan efektif sebagai media pembelajaran untuk materi bumbu makanan Asia, serta diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman materi, mempermudah proses pembelajaran mandiri, dan pada akhirnya berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas hasil belajar mahasiswa secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mengembangkan dan menilai kelayakan media pembelajaran video tutorial teknik seduh kopi V60 pada mata kuliah barista dan coffee shop bagi mahasiswa sarjana terapan seni kuliner dan pengelolaan jasa makanan. Tempat penelitian di lakukan di Kedai kopi Tjan jati asih. Media ini di kembangkan dengan metode research and development dengan model penelitian yang digunakan adalah DDD-E  (Decide, Design, Develop, Evaluate). Pada tahap decide, dilakukan penetapan tujuan pembelajaran melalui survei menggunakan google formulir, serta menilai kemampuan prasyarat dan sumber daya. Tahap design melibatkan pembuatan perangkat perencanaan media seperti GBIM, Jabaran Materi, storyboard, dan naskah yang divalidasi oleh ahli. Pada tahap develop, media dibuat sesuai panduan pada storyboard menggunakan aplikasi Canva Pro dan Capcut Pro, lengkap dengan gambar, video, teks. Tahap evaluate melibatkan validasi media oleh ahli materi, media, dan bahasa yang dilanjutkan dengan pengujian kepada mahasiswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, media pembelajaran video tutorial teknik seduh kopi V60 pada mata kuliah barista dan coffee shop telah melalui proses validasi oleh para ahli, dengan perolehan skor sebesar 100% dari ahli materi, 96% dari ahli media,dan dari 96% dari ahli bahasa. Uji kelayakan yang dilakukan terhadap mahasiswa menunjukkan bahwa media ini termasuk dalam kategori layak pada uji coba one to one dengan skor 89%, kategori sangat layak pada uji small group dengan skor 92%, dan kategori sangat layak pada uji field group dengan skor 94%. Uji respon pengguna mendapatkan skor 89% dengan kategori sangat kuat yang menunjukkan bahwa media ini memiliki tingkat kebermanfaatan dan ketertarikan yang sangat tinggi. Oleh karena itu, media pembelajaran video tutorial teknik seduh V60 pada mata kuliah barista dan coffee shop ini sangat layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Mathematics learning anxiety is a prevalent issue among high school students that can adversely affect academic performance and psychological well-being. Despite extensive quantitative research, little is known about the lived experiences and psychospiritual dimensions of students facing mathematics anxiety, particularly within Islamic educational settings. This qualitative case study explores the determinants of mathematics learning anxiety among students at Senior High School (SMA) Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Participants were purposively selected based on active enrollment, observable signs of mathematics anxiety, and willingness to provide informed consent. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis, then analyzed thematically. Findings indicate that students experience psychosomatic symptoms, cognitive difficulties, altered learning behavior, and neurophysiological disturbances. Contributing factors include low self-efficacy, poor concentration, fear of failure, and the perception of mathematics as inherently difficult. Anxiety manifested during lessons and assessments, negatively influencing problem-solving, conceptual understanding, and overall academic achievement. This study highlights the need for holistic support strategies in schools that address both psychological and psychospiritual well-being, integrating educational and Islamic principles to reduce mathematics learning anxiety and enhance student outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh substitusi tepung umbi garut (Maranta arundinacea L.) terhadap kualitas fisik dan daya terima konsumen pada produk kue putu ayu. Substitusi dilakukan dalam tiga tingkat, yaitu 45%, 60%, dan 75% dari total penggunaan tepung. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan eksperimental dengan uji fisik (berat dan volume) serta uji organoleptik oleh panelis agak terlatih. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa substitusi tepung umbi garut tidak memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap aspek berat, pori, rasa manis, aroma pandan, dan aroma umbi garut. Namun, terdapat pengaruh signifikan pada aspek warna, rasa umbi garut, dan tekstur, terutama pada substitusi 75% yang menghasilkan mutu sensoris lebih rendah. Berdasarkan analisis hedonik, formulasi substitusi 60% menunjukkan hasil terbaik secara keseluruhan, dengan tingkat kesukaan panelis yang tinggi pada aspek warna, aroma, rasa, dan tekstur. Penggunaan tepung umbi garut sebagai bahan substitusi tepung terigu memberikan alternatif diversifikasi pangan berbasis sumber daya lokal yang potensial, mendukung ketahanan pangan nasional, serta mengurangi ketergantungan terhadap impor gandum. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pemanfaatan tepung umbi garut sebesar 60% dalam pembuatan putu ayu dan membuka peluang pengembangan lebih lanjut pada produk pangan lokal lainnya.

Abstract

Batik design innovation plays a strategic role in sustaining Indonesia's cultural heritage while strengthening the creative industry sector. Vocational schools, as institutions responsible for preparing skilled creative workers, are expected to cultivate innovative competencies in batik design. However, varying levels of institutional readiness often hinder achieving these goals. This literature-based study aims to explore the preparedness of vocational schools to develop batik design innovation by mapping key challenges and opportunities revealed in previous studies. Using a narrative review approach, relevant journal articles, books, and policy documents were analysed through thematic categorisation encompassing curriculum, teacher competence, learning facilities, digital technology integration, and school industry collaboration. The findings indicate that vocational schools show potential to foster innovation but face significant challenges, including limited access to modern design technologies, outdated curricula, insufficient teacher expertise, and weak partnerships with the batik industry. Conversely, various opportunities emerge from increasing demand for creative batik products, government support for cultural education, and the growing availability of digital design tools that can enhance learning. This study highlights the need for comprehensive reforms in curriculum, professional development, and facility investment to strengthen innovation capacity in batik design education. The findings also offer practical insights for schools, policymakers, and industry partners to build an enabling ecosystem for batik design innovation collaboratively.

Abstract

This study presents a systematic literature review (SLR) examining how social media use and technology readiness enhance the marketing capabilities of fashion and tailoring SMEs. As digital platforms increasingly shape consumer behaviour and competition, many SMEs, particularly in the fashion and tailoring sectors, face challenges in adopting and optimising social media for marketing. Using a PRISMA-based review protocol, this research analysed peer-reviewed studies published between 2013 and 2024 across major academic databases. A total of selected articles meeting the inclusion criteria were synthesised through qualitative thematic analysis. The findings reveal three dominant themes: (1) social media functions as a strategic and cost-effective marketing tool that supports customer engagement, brand visibility, and product promotion; (2) technology readiness, comprising technological competence, digital infrastructure, and managerial support, significantly influences SMEs’ ability to adopt digital marketing tools; and (3) the integration of social media and adequate technology readiness strengthens SMEs’ marketing capabilities, particularly in market sensing, customer relationship management, and product differentiation. This review contributes theoretically by mapping the intersection between digital adoption and capability development, and practically by offering insights for SME practitioners and policymakers to support digital transformation in the fashion and tailoring industry.

Abstract

Character education occupies a central role in the world of education which is a constitutional mandate. The progress of science and technology that is unstoppable by physical strength with its various positive and negative impacts, is a strong reason to make character education the basis for an ethical defense in the face of the negative impacts of globalization, especially during the pandemic. The role of character education is a very big concern in Muhammadiyah educational institutions, especially AIK subjects, character education is important in every learning process in an effort to achieve Muhammadiyah educational goals and organizational goals. The purpose of this study was to determine the strengthening of AIK-based character education (PPK) during the covid-19 pandemic. The research method used is quantitative with a survey method. The number of samples in this study was 150 parents of students. Collecting information using a survey method with a Likert scale. Information analysis by calculating the percentage of information on each indicator, then interpreting the percentage score information and analyzed descriptively on each indicator. The results of this study showed 91.8% with very good criteria on strengthening character education (PPK) based on Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah during the covid-19 pandemic at Muhammadiyah Elementary School Nitikan Yogyakarta
