Abstract

Batik design innovation plays a strategic role in sustaining Indonesia's cultural heritage while strengthening the creative industry sector. Vocational schools, as institutions responsible for preparing skilled creative workers, are expected to cultivate innovative competencies in batik design. However, varying levels of institutional readiness often hinder achieving these goals. This literature-based study aims to explore the preparedness of vocational schools to develop batik design innovation by mapping key challenges and opportunities revealed in previous studies. Using a narrative review approach, relevant journal articles, books, and policy documents were analysed through thematic categorisation encompassing curriculum, teacher competence, learning facilities, digital technology integration, and school industry collaboration. The findings indicate that vocational schools show potential to foster innovation but face significant challenges, including limited access to modern design technologies, outdated curricula, insufficient teacher expertise, and weak partnerships with the batik industry. Conversely, various opportunities emerge from increasing demand for creative batik products, government support for cultural education, and the growing availability of digital design tools that can enhance learning. This study highlights the need for comprehensive reforms in curriculum, professional development, and facility investment to strengthen innovation capacity in batik design education. The findings also offer practical insights for schools, policymakers, and industry partners to build an enabling ecosystem for batik design innovation collaboratively.

Abstract

This study presents a systematic literature review (SLR) examining how social media use and technology readiness enhance the marketing capabilities of fashion and tailoring SMEs. As digital platforms increasingly shape consumer behaviour and competition, many SMEs, particularly in the fashion and tailoring sectors, face challenges in adopting and optimising social media for marketing. Using a PRISMA-based review protocol, this research analysed peer-reviewed studies published between 2013 and 2024 across major academic databases. A total of selected articles meeting the inclusion criteria were synthesised through qualitative thematic analysis. The findings reveal three dominant themes: (1) social media functions as a strategic and cost-effective marketing tool that supports customer engagement, brand visibility, and product promotion; (2) technology readiness, comprising technological competence, digital infrastructure, and managerial support, significantly influences SMEs’ ability to adopt digital marketing tools; and (3) the integration of social media and adequate technology readiness strengthens SMEs’ marketing capabilities, particularly in market sensing, customer relationship management, and product differentiation. This review contributes theoretically by mapping the intersection between digital adoption and capability development, and practically by offering insights for SME practitioners and policymakers to support digital transformation in the fashion and tailoring industry.

Abstract

Character education occupies a central role in the world of education which is a constitutional mandate. The progress of science and technology that is unstoppable by physical strength with its various positive and negative impacts, is a strong reason to make character education the basis for an ethical defense in the face of the negative impacts of globalization, especially during the pandemic. The role of character education is a very big concern in Muhammadiyah educational institutions, especially AIK subjects, character education is important in every learning process in an effort to achieve Muhammadiyah educational goals and organizational goals. The purpose of this study was to determine the strengthening of AIK-based character education (PPK) during the covid-19 pandemic. The research method used is quantitative with a survey method. The number of samples in this study was 150 parents of students. Collecting information using a survey method with a Likert scale. Information analysis by calculating the percentage of information on each indicator, then interpreting the percentage score information and analyzed descriptively on each indicator. The results of this study showed 91.8% with very good criteria on strengthening character education (PPK) based on Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah during the covid-19 pandemic at Muhammadiyah Elementary School Nitikan Yogyakarta

Abstract

This article documents and analyzes the synergy between students from the 84th Recognition Community Service Program (KKN) group at Raden Fatah State Islamic University in Palembang and the community in 26 Ilir Village, Bukit Kecil Subdistrict, Palembang City. As a heterogeneous and densely populated urban area, Kelurahan 26 Ilir faces sociocultural challenges in the form of declining religious literacy among the younger generation and a fading spirit of mutual cooperation due to the tide of modernization and urban individualism. This community service program was designed as a strategic partner for the village government and residents to revitalize religious values and strengthen social structures through acts of solidarity and community empowerment. The method used in implementing this community service program is a qualitative descriptive approach. Students conducted in-depth observations and direct interactions over a 30-day period, from January 19 to February 19, 2026. Data was collected through participatory observation and in-depth discussions with village officials and community leaders to narratively describe the phenomena, processes, and outcomes of the activities. The results of the community service program demonstrated significant impacts across three main aspects: physical-infrastructure, education-mentality, and social interaction. Physically, the “Kampung Sayur” was revitalized by painting the entrance gate to strengthen the area’s visual identity, and updating population information banners at the village office to ensure data transparency. In the educational sector, the Quranic study guidance program (BTQ) at the Jamiatul Islam Mosque successfully increased students’ interest and proficiency in understanding Tajwid and memorizing short surahs. Additionally, anti-bullying education at SD Negeri 136 provided crucial insights into the value of tolerance for students in an urban environment. Increased community participation was evident in the collaborative cleanup of drainage channels and residents’ involvement in the Posyandu for stunting prevention through the promotion of the Free Nutritious Food (MBG) program. The success of this program was supported by the openness of the village officials and the positive response from religious leaders. However, there were obstacles in the form of time constraints for residentsb most of whom work during the day as well as a lack of facilities and resources such as copies of the Quran and Iqro’ books. As a sustainability effort, the students initiated an “Islamic Reading Corner” at the mosque to ensure religious literacy continues after the KKN period ends. In conclusion, this collaborative synergy has proven capable of reviving local wisdom and strengthening the social and spiritual resilience of the community amidst the dynamics of modern urban life.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas media pembelajaran video tutorial materi manatiang service terhadap pengetahuan mahasiswa Pendidikan Tata Boga Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Jakarta.. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen, pada metode ini menggunakan desain penelitian Non-equivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Tata Boga Universitas Negeri Jakarta, yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan pre-test dan post-test, serta angket respon mahasiswa. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan uji univariat, bivariat, dan peningkatan pengetahuan. Hasil uji univariat diperoleh nilai thitung 9,17 > ttabel 2,06 pada kelompok eksperimen, pada kelompok kontrol diperoleh nilai thitung 6,69 > ttabel 2,06, artinya pada masing-masing kelompok nilai thitung > ttabel yang artinya pada masing-masing kelompok terdapat pengaruh pengetahuan mahasiswa sebelum dan sesudah diberi perlakuan. Hasil uji bivariat menghasilkan nilai thitung 3,16 > ttabel 2,00 yang artinya terdapat perbedaan rata-rata peningkatan pengetahuan mahasiswa, dengan skor peningkatan pengetahuan mahasiswa pada kelompok kontrol 28% dan pada kelompok eksperimen 45%, sehingga dapat disimpulkan peningkatan pengetahuan mahasiswa yang menggunakan media video lebih tinggi daripada peningkatan pengetahuan mahasiswa yang menggunakan media powerpoint. Hasil perhitungan angket respon mahasiswa mendapatkan hasil yang sangat efektif yaitu 93,39%, artinya penggunaan media video tutorial manatiang service efektif terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan mahasiswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media video tutorial manatiang service efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Penataan dan Pelayanan Restoran.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran infografis digital sebagai media pembelajaran microteaching dalam meningkatkan keterampilan dasar mengajar calon guru kuliner. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan dengan tahapan analisis kebutuhan, perancangan infografis digital, validasi ahli, serta uji coba terbatas pada mahasiswa calon guru kuliner pada pendekatan model Lee and Owens. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, angket, dan dokumentasi, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa infografis digital dinilai layak dan efektif sebagai media pembelajaran microteaching, ditinjau dari aspek tampilan, kejelasan materi, dan kemudahan pemahaman. Penggunaan infografis digital mampu meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap keterampilan dasar mengajar, seperti membuka pembelajaran, menjelaskan materi, mengelola kelas, dan memberikan umpan balik. Simpulan penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa infografis digital dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran alternatif yang inovatif dan edukatif dalam pembelajaran microteaching bagi calon guru kuliner.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pendidikan kejuruan mengemban peran ganda yaitu mengembangkan kompetensi teknis dan melestarikan budaya lokal, seperti pada mata kuliah Sanggul Tradisional. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis secara komparatif implementasi strategi pembelajaran inovatif (Problem-Based Learning dan Project- Based Learning) di dua institusi kejuruan, yaitu Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) dan Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED) untuk mengidentifikasi pola penerapan dan sumber kendala yang menghambat kreativitas mahasiswa. Penelitian kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus kolektif (Comparative Case Study) ini menggunakan triangulasi data dari wawancara mendalam dengan dosen, analisis dokumen Rencana Pembelajaran Semester (RPS), dan observasi langsung. Hasil analisis tematik menunjukkan bahwa implementasi Problem-Based Learning dan Project- Based Learning belum optimal karena adanya distorsi kurikuler, dimana rubrik penilaian yang kaku menekankan standarisasi bentuk baku (reproduksi) alih-alih eksplorasi serta kendala operasional berupa sarana prasarana dan adaptasi AI. Simpulan menunjukkan strategi yang ada cenderung kembali ke praktik reproduktif, sehingga direkomendasikan intervensi model yang lebih terarah melalui integrasi Inquiry-Based Learning dan Case-Based Learning. Inquiry-Based Learning akan mendorong penemuan mandiri untuk melampaui pakem kaku, sementara Case-Based Learning akan melatih analisis kritis dan perumusan solusi inovatif yang aplikatif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh model pembelajaran Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) berbasis etnomatematikaa terhadap peningkatan kemampuan numerasi peserta didik pada jenjang Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP). Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah one group pretest-posttest, dimana satu kelas eksperimen diberikan tes kemampuan numerasi sebelum dan sesudah penerapan model pembelajaran tersebut. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes kemampuan numerasi, jenis data dalam penelitian ini adalah data kuantitatif yang diperoleh dari nilai pretes dan posttes peserta didik. Sampel penelitian adalah 12 siswa SMP Muhammadiyah Jetis yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan numerasi peserta didik yang signifikan setelah penerapan model pembelajaran RME berbasis etnomatematikaa yaitu sebesar 23,3%. Uji statistik menghasilkan nilai p=0,000 yang menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan numerasi. Pembelajaran berbasis konteks budaya lokal melalui etnomatematikaa membantu peserta didik memahami konsep matematika dengan cara yang lebih mudah diaplikasikan dan relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pengintegrasian budaya lokal ke dalam pembelajaran matematika dapat meningkatkan pemahaman dan kemampuan numerasi peserta didik, sehingga pembelajaran matematika menjadi lebih bermakna dan kontekstual.

Abstract

The development of 21st-century skills, particularly collaboration and critical thinking, has become a central objective in contemporary mathematics education. The Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach is considered a promising intellectual strategy for supporting these competencies through contextual problem-solving activities and structured social interactions. However, emperiecal evidence on the simultaneous contribution on both critical thinking and collaborative skills remains limited. This study aims to assess the effect of the RME approach on students’ critical thinking and collaborative skill in mathematics learning. A quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design involving sixty students, divided into an experimental group receiving RME instruction (n = 30) and a control group receiving conventional instruction (n = 30). The research instruments included a critical thinking skills test and an observation-based collaboration skills assessment. Data were analyzed using Multivariate analysis of Covariance to assess the combined effects of RME while controlling for initial abilities .The results revealed that the experimental group ashowed significantly higher posttest scores in critical thinking skills (M = 82.15) compored to the control group (M = 70.46), with N-Gain scores of 0.61 and 0.35, respectively. Similarly, students’ collaborative skills in the experimental group (M = 84.27) were higher than those in the control group (M = 71.15). Multivariate analysis confirmed a statistically significant effect of RME on both critical thinking and collaboration. These findings suggest that RME effectively enhances students' cognitive and social competencies and can serve as an alternative strategy for mathematics instruction.
