Abstract

ABSTRACT Diarrhea remains a major cause of health problems in children, particularly among school-aged children. One of the main consequences of diarrhea is dehydration due to significant fluid and electrolyte loss. This study aims to describe nursing care in fulfilling fluid requirements in children with diarrhea at TK II Putri Hijau Hospital Medan. This research employed a descriptive design with a case study approach. The subjects were two pediatric patients who met the inclusion criteria: children with mild to moderate diarrhea without complications. The nursing care process included assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The results of this case study showed that intravenous fluid rehydration effectively improved patients' hydration status. The primary nursing diagnosis was the risk of fluid imbalance. Nursing interventions included monitoring vital signs, fluid intake and output, as well as providing education to families regarding continued care. In conclusion, targeted and systematic nursing care in fulfilling fluid requirements in children with diarrhea proved effective in reducing dehydration symptoms and accelerating recovery. Nurses play an essential role in monitoring and educating families throughout the healing process. ABSTRAK Diare masih menjadi penyebab utama gangguan kesehatan pada anak, terutama pada anak usia sekolah Salah satu dampak utama dari diare adalah dehidrasi akibat kehilangan cairan dan elektrolit yang signifikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan asuhan keperawatan dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan cairan pada anak dengan diare di Rumah Sakit TK II Putri Hijau Medan. Metode Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Subjek penelitian adalah dua pasien anak yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi, yaitu anak dengan diare ringan hingga sedang tanpa komplikasi. Proses asuhan keperawatan meliputi pengkajian, diagnosa, intervensi, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Hasil studi kasus ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian cairan rehidrasi melalui infus intravena efektif meningkatkan status hidrasi pasien. Diagnosa keperawatan utama adalah risiko ketidakseimbangan cairan, Intervensi keperawatan mencakup pemantauan tanda-tanda vital, intake-output cairan, serta edukasi kepada keluarga tentang perawatan lanjutan. Kesimpulan dari studi kasus ini, asuhan keperawatan yang terarah dan sistematis dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan cairan pada anak dengan diare terbukti efektif dalam menurunkan gejala dehidrasi dan mempercepat pemulihan. Peran perawat sangat penting dalam pemantauan dan edukasi selama proses penyembuhan.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang ada dalam Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini ditandai dengan sedikitnya variasi dari media pembelajaran digital yang menarik perhatian anak dan keterbatasan guru dalam merancang media yang kreatif serta selaras dengan perkembangan anak. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru dalam menciptakan media pembelejaran interaktif melalui pelatihan menggunakan aplikasi desain digital yaitu Canva. Program ini dilaksanakan melalui serangkaian aktivitas melibatkan guru peserta latihan mulai dari pemaparan materi, praktik langsung, menyusun desain, pengeditan hingga presentasi hasil karya. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan kemampuan para guru dalam menggunakan Canva untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran digital yang menarik dan sesuai karakteristik anak. Kegiatan ini juga meningkatkan kreativitas guru dalam mengintegrasikan elemen visual, warna, dan ilustrasi sehingga dapat menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang lebih menyenangkan. Kesimpulannya, pelatihan media interaktif berbasis Canva ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi guru PAUD dalam merancang media pembelajaran digital, sekaligus memberikan kontribusi terhadap terciptanya pembelajaran yang inovatif, interaktif, dan relevan dengan kebutuhan anak

Abstract

This study conducts a content analysis of teaching approaches embedded in the Basic English for Young Learners textbook. Using a qualitative checklist-based analysis, the study examines how instructional methods are represented through the book’s grammar explanations, exercises, and learning activities, with particular attention to the presence of traditional and contemporary English language teaching approaches. The findings indicate that the Grammar Translation Method (GTM) is the primary approach utilized in the book. The content emphasizes grammar rules, vocabulary acquisition, and sentence translation from English to Indonesian. While the book provides various written exercises, it lacks components that promote speaking, listening, and interactive communication. Furthermore, the study reveals the absence of Communicative Language Teaching, Text-Based Learning, and Digital Learning approaches. These limitations suggest that the book focuses mainly on structural aspects of language learning rather than communicative competence. Despite its usefulness in helping beginners understand grammatical concepts, the textbook would be more effective if combined with modern, student-centered approaches that enhance all language skills. The results of this study are expected to provide valuable insights for English teachers and curriculum developers in selecting and designing an English textbook for young learners.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The puerperium is the period during which blood is discharged from the uterus due to childbirth or g/ier delivery, lasting for 6 weeks or 42 days, which is the time requiredfor the reproductive organs to return to their normal condition. The purpose of this study was to provide nursing care through the implementation of cold compress therapy to reduce perineal pain in postpartum patients. This research is a descriptive study with a case study design involving several stages, including assessment (client identity anamnesis, chief complaint, current illness history, past nzedical history, family history), nursing diagnoses, interventions, and implementation of cold compress application, as well as evaluation. The study was conducted on two postpartum patients. The results showed that the application of cold compress therapy over three days was effective in reducing perineal pain. In Case l, the perineal pain scale decreasedfrom 4 to 2 after the intervention, while in Case 2, the pain scale reducedfrom 5 to l. In conclusion, after the nursing care intervention using cold compresses, both patients experienced a decrease in perineal woundpain levels in the postpartum period. It is recommended that cold compress therapy be used as a guideline in providing nursing care to reduce perinealpain. ABSTRAK Nifas yaitu darah yang keluar dari rahim karena sebab melahirkan atau setelah melahirkan yang berlangsung selama 6 minggu atau 42 hari, merupakan waktu yang diperlukan untuk pulihnya alat kandungan pada keadaan yang normal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melakukan asuhan keperawatan dengan implementasi penerapan kompres dingin terhadap nyeri perineum pada pasien nifas. Metode penelitian ini bersifat penelitian deskriptif dalam rancangan studi kasus meliputi tahapan yang terdiri dari pengkajian: anamnesis identitas klien, keluhan utama, riwayat penyakit sekarang, riwayat penyakit terdahulu, riwayat penyakit keluarga, diagnosa keperawatan, intervensi dan implementasi penerapan kompres dingin serta melakukan evaluasi, yang dilakukan pada dua pasien ibu nifas.Hasil berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setelah dilakukannya penerapan kompres dingin selama 3 hari dapat menurunkan nyeri perineum dengan hasil pada kasus 1 yaitu sebelum implementasi nyeri perineum pada skala 4 dan setelah dilakukan implementasi menjadi skala 2 sedangkan pasien 2, sebelum diberikan implementasi nyeri perineum dengan skala 5 dan setelah dilakukan implementasi menjadi skala 1. Kesimpulan setelah peneliti melakukan asuhan keperawatan pada kedua responden dengan penerapan kompres dingin terhadap pengurangan nyeri perineum dapat mengurangi skala nyeri luka perineum pada pasien post partum. Saran agar penerapan pemberian kompres dingin terhadap pengurangan nyeri perineum dapat dijadikan sebagai panduan pemberian asuhan keperawatan.

Abstract

The idea of speaking skills is interconnected with the environment and social context of students poses new challenges by students from ethnic minorities in English language learning. These factors encompass the hindrances and the success of ethnic minority students in adjusting themselves in speaking classes. From 95 first-year students in English Language Teaching program, 18 of them have different minor ethnicities. This study adopted a qualitative study by using semi-structured interviews as an instrument of research. The data then transcribed, coded, and analyzed into different themes that are in line with the research objectives. The results of this study show that the difficulties experienced by students from ethnic minorities in adjusting themselves in speaking classes are the lack of confidence, shyness, and anxiety, speaking opportunities and vocabulary masteries, feeling isolated, and additive bilingualism from peers. However, these hindrances can be solved by various factors: teachers’ decision in designing discussed topics and speaking activities in classroom setting.

Abstract

The Umayyad Dynasty in Damascus marked the beginning of Islam’s shift from a democratic caliphate to a hereditary monarchy. This study aims to examine the history, civilizational advancements, and causes of the Umayyad Dynasty's decline in Damascus. The method used is library research, referring to historical texts, articles, and relevant academic sources. Findings reveal significant progress in politics, law, culture, economy, education, and religion during the dynasty’s rule. However, internal issues such as weak leadership, tribal fanaticism, and economic decline led to its fall. This research is crucial for understanding the dynamics of classical Islamic civilization and its relevance to the development of contemporary Islamic politics.

Abstract

Pregnancy is a physiological stage that causes significant changes in various body systems, potentially affecting the health conditions of both mother and fetus. During pregnancy, women often experience a variety of changes including physical symptoms, body image changes, concerns about fetal well-being, adjustments to lifestyle changes, emotional disorders, as well as anxiety related to pregnancy, labor, and birth. Preeclampsia is a condition of increased blood pressure found in pregnant women. This condition is one form of pregnancy emergency that risks not only to the mother and the fetus if it does not get proper treatment. Preeclampsia is an increase in blood pressure that only arises after pregnancy reaches 20 weeks, and accompanied by the rapid increase in maternal weight due to swelling and in laboratory examination found protein in urine (proteinuria). The earliest symptoms often found in pregnant women with preeclampsia are the occurrence of drastic weight gain at a rapid time, which causes the occurrence of odem on the face and extemity. Edema that is common in pregnant women is considered common and common, but this should be considered as a sign of pre-eclampsion, so that it is necessary to provide health education to pregnant women to always check their pregnancy to the nearest health care. This community devotion aims to improve the knowledge of pregnant women to understand early about the health of preeclampsi emergency and signs of preeclampsi symptoms and prevention so that pregnant women expect to understand early in pregnancy. Abstract

Stunting merupakan masalah gizi kronis yang berdampak pada kualitas kesehatan, pendidikan, dan produktivitas sumber daya manusia serta berkontribusi terhadap masalah sosial ekonomi masyarakat. Periode 1000 hari pertama kehidupan (HPK) merupakan masa kritis yang sangat menentukan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak, sehingga pencegahan stunting perlu dilakukan secara optimal melalui pemberdayaan posyandu dan kader kesehatan. Kegiatan PKM ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader kesehatan dalam pencegahan stunting pada 1000 HPK. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Desa Jaharun, Galang, Kabupaten Deli Serdang melalui metode pendidikan kesehatan dan keterampilan. Tahap pelaksanaan meliputi persiapan, pelaksanaan, serta evaluasi dan monitoring. Intervensi berupa edukasi tentang stunting, prakonsepsi, dan 1000 HPK, serta pelatihan pengukuran lingkar lengan atas (LILA), BB, dan TB. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan pre-test dan post-test serta observasi. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan kader dari 30% menjadi 100% kategori baik, serta seluruh kader mampu melakukan pengukuran dengan benar. Kegiatan ini efektif meningkatkan kapasitas kader dalam pencegahan stunting berbasis komunitas.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi permasalahan rendahnya capaian literasi siswa dan terbatasnya kompetensi guru dalam merancang pembelajaran berbasis keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi (Higher Order Thinking Skills) di SMP Negeri 3 Pemulutan, Ogan Ilir. Program ini dilaksanakan melalui skema pelatihan dan pendampingan intensif dengan pendekatan Deep Learning yang terintegrasi dengan pemanfaatan teknologi digital. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan edukatif-partisipatif yang meliputi tahapan sosialisasi, pelatihan konseptual, pelatihan penyusunan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD), implementasi kelas, serta evaluasi komprehensif yang berlangsung pada tanggal 9 hingga 17 Oktober 2025. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan keberhasilan yang signifikan baik pada aspek pedagogis guru maupun kognitif siswa. Berdasarkan analisis data pre-test dan post-test, kompetensi guru dalam menyusun perangkat ajar literasi meningkat sebesar 27,08%, dengan nilai rata-rata akhir mencapai 90,57 (kategori sangat baik). Sejalan dengan itu, kemampuan literasi siswa mengalami peningkatan sebesar 26,73%, dengan skor rata-rata akhir 90,15. Selain capaian kuantitatif, kegiatan ini menghasilkan luaran berupa modul ajar dan LKPD literasi karya guru, serta portofolio karya digital siswa (poster dan esai) berbasis Canva dan Book Creator. Kesimpulannya, integrasi pendekatan Deep Learning dan optimalisasi ekosistem digital terbukti efektif mentransformasi budaya literasi sekolah dari sekadar membaca pasif menjadi proses berpikir kritis, kreatif, dan reflektif.
