Abstract

Community service has been completed by a community service team from the Politeknik Negeri Padang (PNP) in South Solok Regency. The purpose of this community service is to help the community in the construction of a suspension bridge in the village of Aai Manyuruak, Bumi Ayu Village, South Solok Regency. This community service can be carried out thanks to cooperation between the community and donors. The results of this dedication show that universities feel compelled to devote their knowledge to helping build suspension bridges that have been cut off, and have not been rebuilt due to lack of funds. The participation of donors and the community as well as the PNP community service team in the construction of the suspension bridge in Bumi Ayu village was entirely due to community activities carried out in mutual cooperation. Therefore, the construction of this suspension bridge is highly anticipated by the community in running the economy and access to education. In planning the construction of a suspension bridge, the community is fully involved, from planning to implementation. With the completion of the construction of this suspension bridge, the community and children going to school no longer need to take alternative roads which are quite far away.

Abstract

Saat musim hujan tiba, lapangan milik warga setempat yang berada di Jl. Mesjid Dusun I Desa Jambur Pulau, Kecamatan Perbaungan, Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai Provinsi Sumatera Utara kondisinya menjadi lunak dan berlumpur. Lapangan ini digunakan khususnya pemuda-pemudi sebagai prasarana olahraga sepak takraw dan juga kegiatan-kegiatan sosial lainnya pada Dusun I ini. Kegiatan ini berfungsi untuk membuat warga setempat menjadi lebih sehat dengan adanya kegiatan olahraga secara berkala didukung dengan fasilitas prasarana olahraga yang memadai. Belum dicor betonnya lapangan ini menjadi perhatian utama bagi warga setempat. Dan juga net dan bola yang digunakan untuk kegiatan olahraga ini masih dibuat seadanya saja. Hal ini yang menjadi perhatian tim pengabdian untuk melakukan pembetonan terhadap lapangan milik warga dengan tujuan agar pada saat musim hujan tanah tidak lagi menjadi berlumpur dan becek atau ketika musim panas tanah tersebut berabu sehingga bisa mengganggu aktifitas di Musala Al Hidayah serta bisa menjadi prasarana olahraga muda-mudi setempat. Lapangan dicor beton dengan ukuran 13.40 m x 6.10 m x 0.1 m, kemudian lapangan di cat dan diberi net serta bola takraw.

Abstract

Jalan merupakan salah satu unsur geografis buatan manusia yang perlu diberikan informasi nama, posisi geografis, agar mudah dikenali. Pada Dusun III Desa Jambur Pulau, Kec. Perbaungan, Kab. Serdang Bedagai terdapat jalan-jalan kecil berupa gang – gang yang belum memiliki papan nama. Pemberian nama pada sebuah tempat yang dikenal dengan nama toponimi dapat bertujuan untuk memudahkan identifikasi suatu tempat dan mempermudah masyakakat untuk menuju lokasi tujuan. Untuk mempermudah akses jalan di desa tersebut, tim pengabdian menawarkan solusi yakni dengan pembuatan papan nama jalan (toponimi jalan) yang berisikan nama jalan dan kode pos. Terdapat 10 papan nama yang menjadi bantuan kepada masyarakat Dusun III Desa Jambur. Dengan adanya toponimi jalan, membantu penduduk setempat dan masyarakat untuk memudahkan mengenali nama jalan serta dapat memberikan informasi budaya mengenai riwayat asal usul penamaan jalan tersebut.

Abstract

The potato stick-cutting machine is a device that cuts potatoes into long pieces (sticks). This machine can achieve consistent cutting outcomes and rapid cutting times. This is certainly difficult to accomplish manually using hands and knives, especially if the person is inexperienced. This machine's components include a frame, a blade, a knife nest, a cutting disc, a pulley, a V-belt, a pressing lever, a speed regulator, and an electric motor. The potato stick-cutting machine measures 500 mm in length, 300 mm in width, and 700 mm in height. It is driven by a 1 HP motor that is linked to a speed controller to limit its speed. The motor can produce 135 kg of potato sticks per hour using a 2-inch and an 8-inch pulley. The manufacturing cost of this machine is Rp. 4,827,488.00.

Abstract

Increased work productivity has significant implications for organizations, including revenue growth, greater profits, improved reputation, and the ability to attract and retain top talent.  Therefore, companies are constantly striving to understand the factors that affect the work productivity of employees. The relationship between competence, organizational culture, work ethic, and work productivity is still an area of ever-evolving research. Therefore, this study aims to investigate and further understand how these variables interact and impact each other in an organizational context. The research method used is a quantitative survey study with the use of questionnaires as a data collection instrument. The research sample consisted of employees in various divisions of the company. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that competence, organizational culture, and work ethic have a positive and significant influence on work productivity. These findings support the alternative hypotheses proposed in the study. The implication of the results of this study is that organizations can increase work productivity by paying attention to employee competency development, strengthening organizational culture that supports performance, and encouraging a positive work ethic. This research makes an important contribution in understanding the factors that affect work productivity and provides a foundation for recommendations for improvement in the context of human resource management and organizational culture.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how much influence the variables of ease of use, service quality, and promotions have on consumer buying interest in making transactions using e-wallets. The method used is library research and qualitative description by examining various sources related to the research object. The results showed that as many as 876 respondents who used Shopeepay, OVO and Linkaja agreed in terms of ease of use, while 100 other respondents said that even if it is easy, it is not necessarily used. Furthermore, Gopay and Dana, with a total of 190 respondents, stated that there was a significant influence on the service quality variable. Followed by the promotion variable represented by all e-wallet users, with a total of 48 respondents saying that the majority of millennial users have no significant influence on purchase intention, but on the other hand, it has an influence on Gen Z. It can be concluded that the presence of an e-wallet has been widely used by the public in making transactions with various conveniences, quality and promotions provided, but in terms of usage, there are still many who have not explored the e-wallet, so it is hoped that this can be expanded further.

Abstract

Abstract: The increasing number of students at STMIK Royal Kisaran has raised the risk of air pollution caused by vehicle emissions, cigarette smoke, and waste burning, particularly around the campus canteen. The campus's location, which is close to a rubber factory and the Sumatra Crossroad, further exacerbates air quality and significantly impacts the health of individuals active at STMIK Royal. This study aims to develop a system that can measure air quality in real-time and detect pollutants in the campus environment. The system utilizes MQ-135 and MQ-2 sensors integrated with a microprocessor to process and transmit data to an IoT-based database. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method to describe the facts and trends based on the available data. The results indicate that air quality is good in the morning, worsens during the afternoon, and improves again in the evening, reflecting increased pollution during periods of heightened industrial and transportation activities. The implementation of this system is expected to contribute to the creation of a healthier environment and raise awareness about the importance of air quality.Keywords:  air quality; campus environment ; IoT; pollution. Abstrak: Peningkatan jumlah mahasiswa di Kampus STMIK Royal Kisaran telah meningkatkan risiko polusi udara akibat asap kendaraan, rokok, dan pembakaran sampah, terutama di sekitar kantin kampus. Lokasi kampus yang dekat dengan pabrik karet dan jalan lintas Sumatera sehingga memperburuk kualitas udara dan sangat mempengaruhi kesehatan para individu yang beraktivitas di STMIK Royal. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan sistem yang dapat mengukur kualitas udara secara real-time dan mendeteksi polutan di lingkungan kampus. Sistem ini menggunakan sensor MQ-135 dan MQ-2 yang terintegrasi dengan mikroprosesor untuk mengolah dan mengirim data ke database berbasis IoT. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif untuk menggambarkan fakta dan kecenderungan dari data yang tersedia. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa kualitas udara baik di pagi hari, memburuk di siang hari, dan membaik lagi di sore hari, menunjukkan peningkatan polusi saat aktivitas pabrik dan transportasi meningkat. Implementasi sistem ini diharapkan dapat mendukung terciptanya lingkungan yang lebih sehat dan meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya kualitas udara.Kata kunci: IoT; lingkungan kampus; kualitas udara; polusi.

Abstract

Peanuts are a plant that is widely cultivated in Indonesia, but the process of peeling the skin is still often done manually, which requires a lot of time and effort. To increase efficiency in this process, a peanut peeling machine with a horizontal cylinder design was developed. This innovation is designed to make it easier for farmers and small entrepreneurs to peel peanuts with a larger production capacity. This peeling machine is equipped with a nut discharge regulation system and uses a 1 Hp electric motor with a speed of 1400 rpm which is transmitted to 700 rpm. The stripping process is carried out by putting the dried peanuts into the hopper, then the knife cylinder rotates to separate the husks from the peanuts. The system is supported by a belt and pulley mechanism that ensures smooth operation of the machine. The test results showed that this machine was able to peel peanuts with a capacity of 64 kg/hour, providing a significant increase in productivity when compared to manual methods. This machine is expected to provide a more efficient solution for the agricultural industry and home businesses in peanut processing.

Abstract

Animal feed is one of the essential components supporting livestock growth and development. High-quality feed can significantly enhance farm productivity. However, in the preparation of feed in powdered form, efficient machinery is often required to process raw materials into fine particles. This study aims to design and develop a multifunctional animal feed grinder capable of processing various raw materials, such as corn, rice husks, oil palm fronds, wild grass, and straw, into fine powder. The machine is designed with a power output of 4,856.95 watts, utilizing a 6.5 HP gasoline engine, and has a production capacity of 11.34 kg/hour at 3,600 rpm. The trial results demonstrated the machine's production capacity for each material per hour: corn at 32.2 kg, rice husks at 22.9 kg, oil palm fronds at 30.2 kg, wild grass at 16.5 kg, and straw at 10.8 kg. This multifunctional grinder is expected to assist farmer groups in processing animal feed more efficiently and effectively.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh motivasi belajar (X1), disiplin diri (X2), dan pengelolaan waktu (X3) terhadap Gaya hidup digital (Y) pada mahasiswa di Universitas Royal. Data dikumpulkan dari mahasiswa semester 1, semester 3, semester 5, dan semester 7 dengan total sebanyak 101 responden menggunakan observasi, kuesioner, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas responden adalah perempuan (67,6%), dengan rentang semester terbanyak adalah mahasiswa semester 5 (48,6%). Analisis data menggunakan Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) menunjukkan bahwa variabel motivasi belajar tidak berpengaruh terhadap gaya hidup digital bagi mahasiswa Universitas Royal, sedangkan disiplin diri dan pengelolaan waktu memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap gaya hidup digital mahasiswa Universitas Royal. Kata kunci: disiplin; digital; gaya hidup; pengelolaan waktu
