Abstract

This service aims to provide assistance in reading and writing the Koran to TPA Prima participants in Kampung Baru, PCIM Malaysia. The mentoring method is carried out through structured and interactive learning sessions. The research was conducted involving participatory observation and evaluation of participant learning outcomes. The results of the service showed a significant increase in the ability to read and write the Koran among TPA Prima participants. Directed learning sessions supported by individual mentoring have helped participants to improve their pronunciation and understand the meaning of the Al-Quran text better. Apart from that, participants also experienced an increase in their ability to write Arabic letters and Al-Quran words correctly. This service makes a positive contribution in improving Al-Quran reading and writing skills among TPA Prima participants. The practical implication is the need for continued mentoring programs that are sustainable and supported by adequate resources to strengthen TPA Prima participants' understanding and skills of the Al-Quran in the future.

Abstract

Abstract: The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia is still relatively high, namely 24.4 percent, still above the standard accepted by WHO, namely below 20 percent. This is because young women before marriage have high rates of anemia and malnutrition, which causes stunted growth of children during pregnancy. Growth retardation refers to impaired growth and development that occurs primarily in the first 1,000 days of life due to prolonged nutritional deficiencies, recurrent infections, or inadequate psychosocial stimulation. Meanwhile, in the long term, cognitive and learning abilities decrease, immunity decreases, and the risk of developing chronic diseases increases. The stunting rate in West Pagsangan is the highest in Mataram City and is considered the highest stunting rate. The aim of this research is to determine the government's strategy for reducing stunting rates in West Pagesangan. The data collection techniques used in this research used interviews, field observations and documentation. The theory used is strategic theory in his book Sedarmayanti (2014) which consists of three indicators, namely planning, involvement of top leadership, and long-term organizational programs. The results of the study show that the government's strategy for overcoming stunting in West Page Sanan Regency is good, and data available at the Page Sanan Regency Health Center shows that the stunting rate is decreasing every year. Second, the involvement of leaders as interdisciplinary actors in this case sub-district and even sub-district governments needs further improvement.

Abstract

Sustainable tourism development often prioritizes economic growth and environmental protection while giving limited attention to social inclusion and community empowerment. This study explores the transformation of tourism governance in North Lombok Regency, Indonesia, following the 2018 earthquake and the COVID-19 pandemic, through a Beyond Sustainability lens informed by Community-Based Tourism (CBT). Using a descriptive qualitative approach, policy documents and tourism performance data were analyzed through content analysis and social network analysis to examine collaboration among government, community groups, academics, and the private sector. The findings indicate a clear shift from an economy-centered model toward inclusive, community-driven tourism governance. Local government plays a facilitative role by strengthening tourism awareness groups (Pokdarwis), supporting the creative economy, advancing digital promotion, and implementing green tourism policies. Tourism arrivals increased by 113% within two years, local revenue rose by 46%, and tourism villages expanded from five to eight. Network analysis reveals a density of 0.62, with the Senaru Tourism Office and Pokdarwis showing the highest centrality. These results demonstrate that institutionalized multi-actor collaboration and community empowerment provide a transferable policy framework for post-disaster and emerging tourism regions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the policies of the Kuranji Dalang Village government in developing the tourism sector and to examine the extent to which these policies are able to integrate local potential with sustainable village development planning. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving village officials, community leaders, and local residents. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and interactive conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that Kuranji Dalang Village has considerable potential for marine tourism, particularly in the coastal area, which has a direct economic impact on the community through fishing and small businesses such as food and beverage sales. However, the village government does not yet have a specific vision and mission formally directed at tourism development, so existing policies are still general and unstructured. Tourism development is more focused on basic infrastructure development and the formation of community groups such as Pokdarwis and MSMEs, which indicates efforts towards a community-based tourism approach. The main obstacles faced include budget constraints, weak coordination, low community participation in village deliberations, and a lack of regulations related to visitor safety and supervision. Nevertheless, the level of community trust in the village government is relatively high, which is an important social capital in sustainable tourism development. This study concludes that tourism development in Kuranji Dalang Village requires strengthening more targeted village policies, increasing institutional capacity, and active community participation so that tourism can develop inclusively and sustainably in accordance with the principles of sustainable tourism.

Abstract

Sustainable tourism has become a dominant paradigm in regional development; however, its implementation often emphasizes economic growth and environmental preservation while overlooking community empowerment. North Lombok Regency, one of Indonesia’s leading tourism destinations, has experienced complex development dynamics following the 2018 earthquake and the COVID-19 pandemic. These conditions have necessitated a transformation toward a beyond sustainability approach through Community-Based Tourism (CBT), positioning local communities as key actors in tourism governance. This study aims to analyze policy directions, development strategies, and tourism performance achievements in North Lombok, and to assess the extent to which CBT principles have been implemented. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, using policy documents (RENSTRA 2021–2026, RENJA 2022–2023, and LKJIP 2023) and tourism performance data. Data were analyzed using content analysis and network analysis to identify patterns of collaboration among stakeholders. The findings reveal a significant shift from growth-oriented tourism toward inclusive, community-led development. Tourism indicators show a 113% increase in visitor numbers, a 46% rise in regional tourism revenue, and expansion of active tourism villages. Network analysis indicates a moderately dense collaboration (density 0.62), with the Tourism Office and Pokdarwis Senaru as central actors. The study concludes that the beyond sustainability approach strengthens community resilience, promotes equitable development, and fosters participatory tourism governance.

Abstract

Tourism development in Central Lombok Regency has experienced significant acceleration following the designation of the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (KEK) as a national super-priority tourism destination. Despite its positive impact on economic growth and investment, this tourism development has not yet fully provided equitable benefits to local communities, particularly buffer-village communities. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of community-based tourism governance from a perspective beyond sustainability, emphasizing the roles of actors, network relationships, and opportunities to strengthen Community-Based Tourism (CBT) in Central Lombok Regency. The study used a qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and a review of regional planning documents. Data analysis was conducted using a Social Network Analysis (SNA) approach to map the structure and roles of actors in tourism governance. The results show that the tourism governance network remains centralized on institutional actors and area managers, while local communities are in a peripheral position. The results show that the tourism governance network remains centralized on institutional actors and area managers, while local communities are positioned at the periphery. However, this study is limited by its focus on a single regional case and the use of cross-sectional network data, which restricts the ability to capture longitudinal governance dynamics and comparative patterns across destinations. Future research is therefore recommended to employ multi-site comparative designs and longitudinal Social Network Analysis to examine how governance structures evolve and to assess the impacts of policy interventions on community empowerment. In addition, integrating quantitative socio-economic indicators with network analysis would provide a more comprehensive understanding of how governance configurations influence livelihood outcomes. Such extensions would strengthen empirical evidence for advancing regenerative tourism models that genuinely place local communities at the center of tourism development.
