This study was based on scarcity of Arabic text books which is used in Islamic university. The aim of this study was to produce integrated Arabic textbooks including muthalaa, muhadatsah, kitabah and qiraah in one discourse. This study was using Research and Development method (R and D) started by conception of Integrated Arabic Lesson textbook, followed by limited testing and revision, finished by producing the textbooks pass through revisions and discussions with UPI and UIN Arabic experts and lecturers. This study involved 14 students of STIT and 2 Arabic lecturers of UIN and UPI who were lecturing at that place. It was concluded that competence mean of freshman before using the textbooks were 31, whereas after using it, they got average value 55. The difference was 23.

This research is motivated by the thought of an orientalist–‘Abdallah ‘Abd al-Fadi–which states that the Qur’an has no perfection. He poured his thoughts into a book Is The Qur’an Infallible? In his book, he states that the Qur’an contains 22 Arabic syntax errors. His thoughts effected in many Muslims doubtful towards the authenticity of the Qur’an. In addition, non-Muslims also increasingly undermine the authenticity of it. Considering that this issue is a matter that must be addressed, the researcher will research further in this case. The purpose of this study is to refute the thoughts of ‘Abdallah ‘Abd al-Fadi and to maintain the purity, image, and authenticity of the Qur’an. The research method used in this research is descriptive analysis with the qualitative approach. The finding of this research indicates that ‘Abdallah ‘Abd al-Fadi’s thoughts on Qur’anic verses are wrong and this is due to his lack of understanding of Arabic theories especially the theories of Arabic syntax.

This qualitative research argues that the concept of human creation in the holy Quran can be revealed by analyzing the words khalaqa, ja’ala, bada’a, shana’a, and fathara. In doing the analysis, the meaning of words is characterized based on lexical, grammatical, and contextual aspects. This research found that there are only two words used in verses concerning human creation, namely ‘خلق، جعل’ / ‘ja’ala, khalaqa’. The word khalaqa is an intransitive word (fi’il muta’addy) consisting of a single object (maf’ul). Furthermore, the word ‘جعل’ is a transitive verb consisting of two objects (muta’addi bi maf’ulaini). In the context of human creation, the word is used to describe the function of human beings. The word جعل functions as an element to describe the role of an object in the respective verses.

This study aimed at investigating the problems of Arabic teachers’ professional competence in improving the quality of the graduates at MA Al-Musdariyah 2 Cimahi. Phenomenology, scientific approach, and a formal juridical approach were used as the method in this study. This study belonged to a case study. The result of this study showed that the main problems related to the teacher’s professional competence in teaching and learning Arabic were an unsuitable academic qualification, the lack of teachers’ welfare, teachers’ discipline and awareness, tutoring, and training. The implication of this study indicated that teachers’ professional competence to improve the quality of the graduates had been implemented. However, the implementation of teachers’ professional competence was considered less than optimal. It influenced the quality of the graduates. In other words, the objectives of teaching and learning activities were not achieved. Therefore, in this case, teachers as the most important factor in teaching and learning processes should improve their competences as a manifestation to improve the quality of the graduates.

The process of translation in fact gave birth to a sociolinguistic phenomenon like bilingualism when the structure of a language that translated influence on the translation. This paper examines the translation of the Koran, which follows the pattern of the structure of the Arabic language in terms of word order (sequence pattern) element of Arabic and Indonesian. Based on the analysis of the function, the result of translation is not necessarily a literal translation has the same syntactic pattern with the source text. Indonesian function often different in sentence patterns with sentence patterns of Arabic, although it is the literal translation of the Arabic sentence. It happened because of the workings of the Arabic grammarians differ from Indonesian linguist in analyzing its function. DOI: 10.15408/a.v1i1.1128

One of the factors that support and influence students' fluency in Arabic communication is the presence of a language-learning environment (bi'ah lughawiyah). This study aimed to describe how Pesantren Sabilillah implemented the policies in the Sabilillah Spectacular Stage program in improving Maharatul Kalam and how the program improved students’ speaking skills (maharah al-kalam). This study used a qualitative approach. The data were obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation. Participants included the boarding school caretakers, the Arabic language program coordinator, asatidz and ustadzat, and all students living in the boarding school dormitory. This study's results indicate that the Spectacular Stage policies include formulating objectives in the Sabilillah Spectacular Stage program and the timing of the program. Meanwhile, the implementation of this policy includes the policy of grouping students, the formation of the Katibah al-Mukhalifah group, Taqdim al-Mufradat, and Tadrib al-Barnamij.

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh lemahnya tingkat apresiasi mahasiswa ter-hadap materi kesastraan, khusunya balaghah. Untuk itu, dilakukan penelitianini dengan fokus sebagai berikut: a) bagaimana gambaran materi ajar balaghahdengan menggunakan pendekatan adâbî?; b) Bagaimana pelaksanaan pembelajaranmata kuliah balaghah dengan menggunakan materi yang disusun berdasarkanpendekatan adâbî?; c) Bagaimana persepsi mahasiswa yang belajarbalaghah dengan menggunakan materi ajar berbasis pendekatan adâbî?; d)Bagaimana kualitas prestasi balaghah mahasiswa yang belajar denganmenggunakan materi ajar yang berbasis pendekatan adâbî? Metode yangdigunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen. Sampel dalampenelitian ini adalah mahasiswa yang mengikuti perkuliahan balaghahsebanyak 48 orang. Hasil penelitian sebagai jawaban atas permasalahan di atasadalah: 1) tersusunnya bahan ajar balaghah dengan pendekatan adâbî; 2) Tersusunnyalangkah-langkah pembelajaran balaghah dengan pendekatan adabiyang meliputi: persiapan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. 3) Langkah-langkah pendekatanadâbî adalah sbb: pengajar menyampaikan suatu konsep yangmengandung aspek bahasan kepada para mahasiswa, kemudian mereka mengungkapkannya ke dalam bahasa Arab dengan menggunakan uslûb yangvariatif, setelah itu pengajar tidak menyampaikan konsep-konsep dan kaidahkaidahbalaghahsecaraberlebihandancukupmenyampaikanhal-halyangbersifat‘umdah (pokok), dan materi serta tema-tema dalam pembelajaran lebihbanyak berkaitan dengan teks-teks sastra yang memiliki keindahan bahasa danmakna; 4) Pendekatan adabi menuntut untuk memperbanyak latihan-latihanapresiasi sehingga dalam diri mahasiswa tumbuh dzauq (perasaan) pada senidan keindahannya; 5) ada lima aspek yang ditanyakan kepada para mahsiswamengenai pendekatan adabi, yaitu: apersepsi yang dilakukan oleh dosen,metode pembelajaran yang digunakan, teknik menjelaskan materi, media pembelajaranyangdigunakan,dancontoh-contohyangdisajikanolehdosen.Sebagianbesar mahasiswa menyatakan kelima aspek tersebut menarik. Mengenaipengaruh pendekatan adabi terhadap apresiasi mahasiswa sebagian besar mahasiswamenyatakanbahwapendekatanadabiberpengaruhpadakemampuanapresiasimereka.

Writing skills are definitely essential to be mastered by students. This study described the efforts of Arabic education department of Indonesia University of Education (IUOE) in improving students’ writing skill, specifically in writing journal articles. Descriptive qualitative method was used in this study. This study involved 25 postgraduate students. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study showed there are four stages that can be performed to improve students’ writing skill in writing journal article, namely 1) Identifying students’ various difficulties in writing scientific journal articles, 2) conducting trainings of scientific journal articles through zoom meeting application in which the materials are based on the problems faced by the postgraduate students, 3) evaluating scientific journal articles that have been written by the postgraduate students, and 4) knowing the students’ perceptions regarding scientific journal article training activities through distributing the questionnaires.

This study aims to measure the extent of the benefits of technological development as a means of academic evaluation. On this occasion, the researcher chose the Kahoot program as a model, a game-based smartphone learning program used as a school and educational stream designed by two scientists from the University of Norway. Researchers use the program of using the Kahoot program in the implementation process for students participating in Arabic language training courses at the Language Center of the State Islamic University of Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, the results of the study show that this program is of great use to teachers when they show tables that are more effective and efficient, because of the program. It is easy to use question setting by teachersand teachers. It is reliable and can predict the results of decisions after students have answered questions. Apart from that, this program also provides students with fun games such as game programs and can also be accessed easily via smartphones. Researchers hope that this study's results can provide additional information and input for teachers to increase the use of technology in the online teaching and learning process, especially during the Covid-19 epidemic, so that the teaching and learning process is more exciting effective.
