Abstract

Background of study: Aircraft maintenance is vital for flight safety. To connect theory with practice, students at Medan Aviation Polytechnic undergo Field Work Practice at PT. Mulya Sejahtera Technology, focusing on aircraft lighting systems. Aims and scope of paper: This paper discusses the evaluation of the Boeing 737-300 lighting system at PT. Mulya Sejahtera Technology Bandung, based on Field Work Practice involving trainees in maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting across multiple divisions. Methods: Using a descriptive observational approach, trainees engage in one month of daily maintenance, document tasks, and receive supervisor evaluations. Data is gathered through observation, practice, and feedback. Result: Fieldwork Practice provides valuable hands-on experience, which significantly enhances trainees' technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and understanding of the complexity and importance of lighting systems. Trainees successfully apply classroom theory into real-life maintenance scenarios, develop effective communication skills, and adapt to a professional work environment. Conclusion: Evaluation of the Boeing 737-300 lighting system at PT. Mulya Sejahtera Technology Bandung confirms its crucial role in flight safety and comfort. While most components meet standards, some require periodic maintenance and replacement due to aging. Routine inspections are essential to maintain optimal performance and regulatory compliance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menelaah bagaimana klasterisasi spektrum VHF dapat mengurangi potensi interferensi antarbandara di ruang udara Indonesia yang padat. Berlandaskan konsep interaksi spasial dan risiko spectrum sharing, kedekatan geografis antarbandara dan jarak frekuensi (Δf) dikaitkan dengan probabilitas terjadinya interferensi, serta memosisikan klasterisasi sebagai prasyarat koordinasi berbasis data. Data multi-layanan VHF dari 219 bandara dinormalisasikan dan dianalisis, Menggunakan Principal Component Analysis (PCA) untuk mempertahankan komponen yang menjelaskan ≥70% variasi, Selanjutnya, algoritma FASTCLUS digunakan untuk membentuk kelompok yang koheren secara spasial. Pasangan bandara yang berpotensi berisiko diidentifikasi dengan kriteria jarak <50 km dan Δf <0,2 MHz (uji kepekaan: 0,3 MHz). Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat 37 pasangan bandara memenuhi kedua kriteria tersebut; pola yang teridentifikasi menunjukkan adanya kantong kepadatan dengan penyempitan adjacent-channel spacing yang mengindikasikan kemungkinan inertia kebijakan dalam pengelolaan spektrum (spectrum housekeeping). Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, disusun daftar prioritas watchlist berperingkat untuk AirNav/Kominfo guna memandu penataan ulang kanal dan koordinasi lintas wilayah, mendukung SDG 9 dan SDG 16. Pendekatan yang digunakan mengintegrasikan PCA–FASTCLUS dengan skrining Δf–jarak menjadi pipeline praktis, replikabel, dan siap regulator.

Abstract

Cargo is the goods transported by ship, aircraft or other types of transportation. Cargo is divided into three types of transportation, namely, air, land and sea. Cargo service is a special service for transporting goods using aircraft. This service can be organized by a regular airline that serves passengers, but can also be carried out by a specialized airline freight company. With the development of industrial automation technology, robots are needed to help meet their needs quickly. With this developed robotics technology to help alleviate human work in the future. Goods delivery robot is a robot created to help work in delivering goods to aircraft cargo. This robot can stuff automatically. This goods transfer robot uses the Internet of Things method that is already connected to a smartphone remote control based on an android application. Writing program code using Arduino IDE 1.8.9 and using Android as a robot control. This robot uses 4 channel line tracker sensors, 2 DC motors and motor drivers as controllers, Arduino uno as the brain in this robot system. The results of this study produce a prototype robot that can deliver goods into aircraft cargo in airports.

Abstract

Aviation safety is heavily influenced by the quality of human resources, particularly pilots and ground crew. Although technology has advanced significantly, human error remains the primary cause of aviation accidents; therefore, strengthening both technical and non-technical competencies through effective human resource development strategies is essential. This study aims to explore the role of mentorship and coaching in improving aviation safety by enhancing the technical and non-technical skills of pilots and ground crew. The study employed a systematic literature review (SLR) approach based on PRISMA guidelines. Of the 194 studies initially identified, 34 articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed in depth using VOSviewer and Biblioshiny for thematic mapping and bibliometric visualization. The findings indicate that mentorship is effective in fostering a culture of safety, confidence, and professionalism, while coaching enhances technical performance through structured feedback and simulation-based approaches. Approximately 35% of the reviewed studies reported improvements in non-technical skills, while 26% demonstrated positive impacts on safety outcomes. The integration of mentorship and coaching forms a holistic competency framework that positively influences operational safety. This study concludes that mentorship and coaching are strategic instruments for enhancing aviation safety and should be systematically integrated into formal aviation training programs. This research contributes to the aviation safety literature by synthesizing evidence-based mentorship and coaching practices and providing practical guidance for developing integrated human resource development frameworks within the aviation industry.
