Abstract

Knowledge of food safety snacks should be introduced to children as early as possible to prevent children from disease caused by unhealthy snackfood. Knowledge can be increased through health education using snake ladder game. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of snakes and ladders on increasing knowledge about food safety for students in class V SDI Graded Oebobo 2 Kupang. The method used in this study was pre-experimental research design with one group pretest and posttest design. The sample consisted of 45 fifth grade students selected by applying total sampling techniques. The results showed that there was a difference between the mean of respondents' knowledge before treatment (59)and after treatment (86.33) with the significance value of ρ = 0,000 (ρ <α = 0.05). The snake and ladder game in this study can be a media used for increasing knowledge of school children about food safety.

Abstract

Efforts to reduce HIV and AIDS infection can be done by taking antiretroviral virus (ARV) drugs. Behavioral compliance in treatment is one way to maintain so that PLWHA (people with HIV and AIDS) can live longer. Factors supporting adherence to taking ARV medication are self-motivation including, attitude to recover, belief / belief in healing, support from family, and support of health workers. The purpose of this study is to find out how motivation for adherence of people with HIV / AIDS in consuming Antiretroviral (ARV) in Kupang City in 2019. The type of research used in this study is descriptive qualitative. This research informants numbered 5 people. This study uses in-depth interview techniques (Indepth Interview). Data analysis was performed with qualitative analysis based on data obtained through unstructured interviews with informants. The results of the study found that PLWHA have the motivation to adhere to taking antiretrovirals. Although there are still PLWHA who are late taking medication and dropping out due to antiretroviral side effects. In addition, there is a belief from PLWHA about the benefits of ARV therapy to make PLWHA healthy again, having hopes of a drug that can cure AIDS. The family's acceptance of the AIDS status suffered by PLWHA and supporting PLWHA to take ARV drugs and the support of health workers are supporting factors that motivate PLWHA to comply with antiretroviral consumption. From the results of the study it is expected that all PLWHA will always take ARV medicines on time and regularly check their health at a health facility.

Abstract

Risky adolescent sexual behavior can be caused reproductive health problems in adolescents such as unwanted pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, and abortion. To increase knowledge about reproductive health, health education is needed. One of the health education methods that can be used in small group education methods is role-playing.This study aims to determine the impact of health education using role-playing methods to improve the knowledge about risky sexual behavior in class XII adolescents in SMAN 1 Kupang. The research method used was a pre-experiment one-group pre-test post-test design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling and the samples obtained included 88 people. The obtained data were analyzed by the T-test. The results of this study suggest that role-play health education raises the knowledge of SMA Negeri 1 Kupang students about sexual behavior in adolescents before and after counseling with role-play methods with a significance value (ρ) of 0.00 <(α) 0.05. The role-play method can be used as a method to provide counseling for teenagers.

Abstract

Malnutrition is a condition where nutritional intake is insufficient to meet metabolic needs, with nutritional status based on body weight index for age (BB/U<-3SD). Malnutrition has a negative impact on physical and mental growth, reduces body resistance, intelligence and even causes disability and increases morbidity and mortality. This study used a case-control research design with a ratio of 1:1. The sample used was 50 selected by simple random sampling consisting of 25 cases and 25 controls. Analysis of the data used is a simple logistic regression analysis using statistical tests with a significance level of = 0.05. Mother's education showed a value (p = 0.002 OR value 0.107), mother's knowledge (p = 0.001 OR value 0.091) toddler eating habits consisted of main meals (p = 0.025 OR 0.259), breakfast (p = 0.045 OR 0.219), snacks (p=0.013, OR 0.291), family food availability (p=0.002, OR 576.000), and a history of infectious diseases (p=0.005, OR 22.154). From the results of the research, some respondents showed that there was a significant relationship between poor nutrition and maternal education, knowledge of maternal health nutrition, eating habits of children under five, availability of family food and infectious diseases. This is indicated by the results of a simple logistic regression analysis. Mothers must also take advantage of existing health services and pay attention to the nutritional intake of toddlers to prevent malnutrition.

Abstract

Health insurance is a guarantee in the form of health protection so that participants get health care benefits and protection in meeting basic health needs that are given to everyone who has paid the Health Insurance Contribution or the Health Insurance Contibution is paid by the Central Government or Regional Government. That study aims to determine the implementation of the National Health Insurance (JKN) in Manusak Village, East Kupang District, Kupang Regency. The population and sample of this study were 41 people who were JKN Mandiri participants in Manusak Village. Sample was done by sampling technique. Data analysis was carried oit by univariate analysis of each research variable. The results showed that most respondents did not want to pay BPJS contributions if the contributions were insurezsed (70.7%), who were willing to pay BPJS contributions if the fees were lowered (51.2%), and there were respondents who had never paid BPJS contributions (53,7%). Most of the JKN Mandiri participants were unable to pay premiums anymore, namely as many as 22 respondents (53.7%) and as many as 19 respondents (46.3%) who were still able to pay premiums. The conclusion of this study is that most of the JKN Mandiri participants in Manusak Village do not want to pay dues anymore and most of them do not have the ability to pay the dues anymore, while with regard to access to health services, the community does not experience problems related to access to health services

Abstract

Malnutrition is a lack of nutrients which include protein, carbohydrates, fats and vitamins that the body needs. Southwest Sumba Regency in 2018 there were cases of malnutrition in 13 sub-districts of the Puskesmas working area. Wee Kombaka Public Health Center is one of the health centers with 45 cases of malnutrition. Wee Kombaka Village is the working area of ​​Wee Kombaka Health Center with 45 cases of malnutrition. The purpose of this research is to analyze the factors related to the incidence of malnutrition in children under five in Wee Kombaka Village, Southwest Sumba Regency 2021. The type of research used is analytical research with a cross sectional study method. The sample used in this research is 53 people. The data analyzed using Chi-square with a significance level of = 0.05. Research shows all variables related to the incidence of malnutrition in children under five, namely the mother's level of knowledge (p-value = 0.006), attitude (p-value = 0.004), action (p-value = 0.004) and history of exclusive breastfeeding (p-value = 0.002). The conclusion in this research is that there is a relationship between knowledge, attitudes, actions and history of exclusive breastfeeding on undernourished children under five, therefore the community, especially mothers of toddlers, are expected to pay more attention to the sources and types of food for toddlers as well as the processing process to serving food to children

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has increased morbidity and mortality. The best strategy from the government is to change people's behavior as an effort to prevent and control COVID-19. One of the government's strategies is implementing the 5M health protocol. Public awareness is needed. One of the reasons is that COVID-19 cases continue to increase which caused by community non-compliance with the implementation of health protocols. The research objective was to describe the factors related to community compliance with the implementation of the 5M health protocol in preventing the transmission of COVID-19 in Sikumana Village. The research location is in Sikumana Village, Maulafa District, Kupang City. This type of descriptive research. The research population for the people of Sikumana Village who are of productive age, namely 15-64 years, is 14,151 people. Sampling using probability sampling with the type of simple random sampling technique, the number of samples is 99 people. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The results showed that 55 people (55.6%) did not comply, 44 people (44.4%) obeyed, good knowledge 79 people (79.8%), not good 20 people (20.2%), negative attitude 52 people (52.5%), positive attitude 47 people (47.5%), family support that supports 84 people (84.8%), does not support 15 people (15.2%), friend support supports 74 people (74.7%), does not support 25 people (25.3%). In conclusion, there are still more disobedient than obedient, good knowledge than bad, negative attitude than positive, family support that supports rather than does not support, and firend support that support rather than does not support.

Abstract

This study aims to identify factors related to personal hygiene of traders at Busalangga Traditional Market, Rote Barat Laut District. Given the high number of diseases related to personal hygiene in Rote Ndao. Data from the Rote Ndao Health Office in 2022 with a total of 3,522 cases of ISPA,1,192 cases of allergic skin diseases, 398 cases of diarrhea and several diseases such as influenza, urticaria, laryngitis, bronchopneumonia, this study uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 64 respondents who were randomly selected from a population of 186 traders. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between age and personal hygiene of traders with a p value of 0.049, education with personal hygiene of traders with a p value of 0.028, knowledge with personal hygiene of traders with a p value of 0.026. However, there was no significant relationship between attitude and personal hygiene of traders with a p value of 0.054 and the availability of personal hygiene facilities with personal hygiene of traders with a p value of 0.276. This study is expected to provide useful information for health agencies and the community to increase awareness of the importance of personal hygiene, as well as being a reference in community health development programs in traditional markets.
