Abstract

ABSTRACT Recently, high population is still a major problem faced by Indonesia. Controlling population growth through Long-Term Contraceptive Methods (LTMs) is one effort to realize quality families. However, users of LTMs in Indonesia have not yet met the target. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the roles of health workers, health education, and husbands' support on the interest in using Long-Lasting Mosquito Nets (LLMs) in fertile couples (PUS) in Palu City. This study used an observational research design with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study consisted of fertile couples in Palu City, totaling 51,201 people. The sampling technique used was probability sampling with a simple random sampling approach, obtaining a sample of 381 respondents. Data analysis used logistic analysis. The results showed that the role of health workers, with a significance level of 0.011, husband's support with a significance level of 0.014 influenced the interest in using LTMs in Fertile Couples, while health education with a significance level of 0.111 did not influence the interest in using LTMs in Fertile Couples in Palu City. In shaping public perceptions of the use of contraceptives, health workers must have an active and positive role. A comprehensive approach is needed after providing education that not only focuses on delivering information but also on overcoming other obstacles. Involving husbands is essential to achieving effective family planning goals. Keywords: Health Workers, Health Education, Husband's Support, Interest in Use, Long-Term Contraceptive Methods.  ABSTRAK Jumlah penduduk yang masih tinggi masih menjadi masalah utama yang dihadapi Indonesia saat ini. Abstract

The high maternal mortality rate (MMR) in remote areas of East Nusa Tenggara has prompted the need for early detection of pregnancy risks using the Poedji Rochjati Score Card (KSPR). This study aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of community health workers and pregnant women in Lidor Village, Rote Ndao Regency. Using a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design through a participatory Extension Service Unit (SAP), the population consisted of 50 community health workers and pregnant women with a purposive sample of 30 participants. Instruments included a 20-item Likert questionnaire, KSPR observation sheets, and simulation evaluations; data analysis used descriptive statistics, manual Wilcoxon signed-rank tests, and thematic analysis. The results showed active participation of 16 community health workers and pregnant women with high enthusiasm in the demonstration of filling out the KSPR and the discussion of risk factors. The conclusion is that the SAP intervention is effective in strengthening community screening and referral preparedness in remote areas, although long-term follow-up is needed.

Abstract

Background: Preeclampsia is one of the leading causes of preventable maternal and fetal deaths in Indonesia if detected early. Lack of understanding about the symptoms, risk factors, and early treatment of preeclampsia remains a challenge at the community level, especially in areas with limited access to information and health services. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences in the effectiveness of video and booklet education on cadres' understanding of early detection, prevention, and management of preeclampsia in pregnant women. Methods: The research design was quasi-experimental, in which the researcher divided the respondents into two groups, namely video intervention and booklet intervention. The research sample consisted of 58 health cadres in Manisrenggo Village, using total sampling technique. The measurement tool used was a questionnaire on understanding early detection, prevention, and management of preeclampsia in pregnant women, which had been tested for validity and reliability. The research media used were videos and booklets. The research analysis was univariate, paired t-test, and independent t-test using SPSS 23. Results: The results showed that the mean score for cadres' understanding before the booklet intervention was 40.17, which increased to 43.41 after the booklet intervention. The p-value was 0.000, indicating that the booklet intervention had an effect on cadres' understanding of early detection, prevention, and management of preeclampsia in pregnant women among health cadres before and after the intervention. Conclusion: There is a difference in the effectiveness of video and booklet education on early detection, prevention, and management of preeclampsia in pregnant women among health cadres. Based on the mean value, video intervention is more effective than booklet intervention.

Abstract

Background: Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) is one of the health problems that often occurs in pregnant women in various countries, especially in regions with low economic levels and vulnerable communities. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of socioeconomic and cultural contextual factors on the occurrence of CED in pregnant women. Methods: The research design is explanatory research with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample consists of 200 pregnant women with CED and 200 pregnant women without CED in Madura. The dependent variable in this study is the incidence of CED, while the independent variables are regional conditions, access to health services, parity, food availability, and CED preventive behavior. Data analysis in the study is univariate and linear regression with a multilevel approach using SPSS 23. The research ethics certificate 001867/EC/KEPK/I/II/2024. Results: Level 1 is rural and urban areas, access to health services, parity, food availability, and preventive behavior for CED. Level 2 is the subdistrict level. Subdistrict conditions have a contextual influence on the variation in the occurrence of CED in pregnant women, namely significant values in rural and urban areas (p=0.009), significant values in access to health services (p=0.013), significant values for parity (p=0.022), significant values for food availability (p=0.049), and significant values for CED preventive behavior (p=0.029). Conclusion: The highest prevalence of CED was found in coastal areas, followed by villages, and the lowest in cities. Women with low parity (primiparas) are not entirely free from the risk of CED. Conversely, pregnant women in urban areas tend to have better access to health facilities, nutritional information, and a variety of foods, resulting in a relatively lower risk of CED.

Abstract

One option for community health services is the community health center (Puskesmas). Puskesmas can adaptably enhance health services by using the Regional Public Service Agency Financial Management Pattern (PPK-BLUD). However, it will affect health care by increasing the desire of health workers to leave if it is not backed by effective human resource management. The purpose of this study is to ascertain how health workers' intentions to leave their jobs relate to their workload, job satisfaction, and wage satisfaction. Using all 418 BLUD contract workers from 37 Puskesmas in Kediri Regency as the population, a cross-sectional design was employed. 204 participants who satisfied the inclusion criteria namely, having been employed as a contract employee at the Kediri Regency Health Center for more than six months were selected through the use of a straightforward random sample procedure. Data were gathered by a questionnaire in December 2023. Multiple linear regression was employed in the data analysis. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between workload (p-value = 0,001) and job satisfaction (p-value = 0,043) with turnover intention; however, salary satisfaction was not associated with turnover intention (p-value = 0,169). Long-term organizational success depends on effective planning as a method to enhance service quality. Puskesmas can hire BLUD contract workers based on employee payroll needs and strengths by implementing PPK-BLUD.
