Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop dance-based learning media created by Zapin to improve the kinesthetic intelligence of children aged 5-6 years. This study is motivated by the low level of kinesthetic intelligence in children aged 5-6 years because the learning activities carried out by the teacher do not attract children's interest, causing low kinesthetic intelligence in children. In developing creative dance movement learning media using the development stage based on the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The feasibility test was carried out by 2 validators, namely dance experts and ECE experts. The test subjects in this study were children aged 5-6 years in Tanggamus Regency, which consisted of 20 children. Data collection was carried out using interviews, observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The media effectiveness test was carried out using the one-group pretest-posttest method. From the results of the effectiveness test, it can be concluded that the developed creative dance can improve kinesthetic intelligence in children aged 5-6 years which consists of aspects of whole-body coordination, balance, agility, and flexibility in children who have carried out learning to move creative dance using the developed media. Abstract

The government incurs huge costs because of low literacy rates, which are associated with higher crime rates, poor health, and higher welfare costs, therefore the stimulation of basic literacy from an early age is important. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of animated motion learning media and songs that are interesting, innovative, and effective for improving basic literacy aspects of early childhood. This mixed-method design with the research and development stages of the ADDIE model was tested for the effectiveness of the media through a paired sample test. The research was divided into three stages, starting from needs analysis, product development, and product evaluation, involving 11 respondents in the effectiveness test. The data collection technique was carried out using a basic literacy instrument grid questionnaire, for child development, while for the feasibility of the media or products being developed it was also through a questionnaire from experts. Data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the study show that there is a significant increase in basic literacy values through learning media. The findings of the integration of quantitative and qualitative data form the basis for preparing the final product to revise and complement the deficiencies of movement and song-learning media. Abstract

One of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in education is the adaptation of children in the transition period to enter first grade elementary school, because the transition from kindergarten to first grade elementary school is a major change in children's daily routine life. One of the supporting factors in the success of children's school adaptation is the relationship between parents and children and the relationship between parents and schools. The purpose of this study was to explore parents' perspectives on the adaptation of first grade students during the transition from kindergarten to first grade. This study used qualitative research methods, with phenomenological design. The study conducted interviews with 3 parents who had children in first grade of elementary school. Analysis uses interviews and documentation to analyze research findings. The results showed that the topics identified to parents of first grade elementary school children were efforts made by parents to prepare children to enter first grade elementary school after the COVID-19 pandemic; adaptation indicators considered by the child's parents at the beginning of the first year of primary school; and the relationship between teachers and parents in the adaptation process of first grade elementary school children.

Abstract

From an early age, it is important for parents to teach their children a disciplined lifestyle. In their role as the closest figures to the child, parents bear the responsibility of shaping discipline. Self-discipline is regarded as a valued asset for a child's development, as it can have positive effects throughout their adulthood. The practice of discipline can mold a child's personality to be more organized and strengthen their ability to regulate themselves. The implementation of discipline is often associated with punishment, which can lead to child abuse. Speaking of child abuse, one of the forms that is often overlooked and considered normal is verbal abuse. This study aims to describe parents’ perspectives on the use of verbal abuse in disciplining children aged 5-6 years. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The method used is a case study. The research location was at Cendekia Pasir Putih Kindergarten Depok, West Java. The research was conducted in May 2023. Data collection using interviews and documentation. Interviews were conducted in depth with six parents. The results showed that parents' understanding of non-violent discipline is still low. Parents tend to believe that discipline and stern reprimands are acceptable without considering the long-term impact on the child's development. The implementation of discipline sometimes still involves using harsh words toward the child.

Abstract

This research departs from the fundamental issue of low self-regulation ability in early childhood, a condition that can have negative implications for long-term academic development. In this context, the study aims to explore the extent to which the implementation of dance learning strategies can increase emotional attachment between mothers and children, as well as strengthen self-regulation skills in early childhood. This study adopts a treatment by level 2 x 2 experimental design, which allows in-depth testing of the interaction of independent variables and their impact on dependent variables. The data obtained through observation are focused on two main aspects: the level of mother-child attachment and the child's self-regulation ability. The data analysis technique used is a two-track ANAVA test, which is processed with MS Office Excel 2011 software. The study involved a sample of 28 children aged 5 to 6 years, who were randomly grouped into two groups—14 children in the experimental group and 14 children in the control group—thus allowing for a significant comparison of results between the two groups.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The objectives and targets in this study was to determine the effect of learning models and the ability dance movement toward early childhood emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize emotions, managing emotions, motivating oneself, recognizing emotions of others (empathy) and the ability to build relationships (cooperation) with other people. The research method used in this study is the experimental method. In the experiment, there are two groups of subjects namely experimental group and control group. Because the research hypothesis is the hypothesis of interaction, then the most appropriate design is factorial desig;n, factorial design used was 2 x 2 fac- torial design. Treatment variable is the learning model, are considered to be a model student center and a teacher center, while the variable attribute is the ability to dance, dance movement capabilities are classified into high and low dance movement. The results showed that there are significant learn- ing model and the ability to dance on the emotional intelligence of young children. The implications obtained in this study that the experience of dance movement with a model of student learning center is an important cornerstone in the development of emotional intelligence since early childhood. Based on the best learning implications Art Culture and Skills should give students experience in dance movement. With that in mind, the potential students will be able to develop optimally. Kata Kunci: Learning model, dance movement, and  emotional  intelligence
