Abstract

Misconceptions in elementary science education are a persistent challenge embedded in the cognitive architecture and neurodevelopmental trajectories of young learners. This comprehensive analysis examines the phenomenon of science misconceptions in elementary school students through the integrated lens of cognitive processing theory and brain development research. By synthesizing contemporary neuroscience findings with an established cognitive psychology framework, this article elucidates the neurobiological underpinnings of misconception formation, persistence, and potential remediation strategies. The analysis reveals that misconceptions are not simply learning errors but, rather, systematic constructs arising from the interaction of developing neural networks, limited cognitive resources, and intuitive reasoning patterns. Limited prefrontal cortex maturity, working memory constraints, and a tendency toward intuitive thinking create a developmental context in which misconceptions naturally emerge. Next, the article explores how neurodevelopmental factors (such as synaptic pruning and executive function development) influence the process of conceptual change. By testing various theoretical frameworks, including conceptual change theory and the dual-process model of cognition, in a neurodevelopmental context, this work provides educators and researchers with a deeper understanding of why misconceptions persist and how evidence-based instructional strategies aligned with brain development can facilitate more effective conceptual understanding. Implications of this study include curriculum design, teacher training, and assessment practices that respect the developmental realities of elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively review the development and research trends of metacognition and executive function in elementary science education. The research employed a comprehensive literature review approach to map the evolution, key themes, and future directions in this field. Articles were retrieved from the Scopus and Web of Science databases using the keywords “metacognition,” “executive function,” and “elementary science education,” covering the years 2015-2025. The selection and analysis followed the PRISMA Guidelines, while bibliometric mapping was conducted using VOSviewer software. The findings indicate that metacognition occupies a central position in the global research network and is strongly associated with self-regulation, motivation, and executive function. Three major clusters emerged: (1) theoretical and cognitive foundations of learning, (2) pedagogical and reflective practices in science classrooms, and (3) cross-cultural and contextual applications. The trend shows a shift from conceptual analyses to technology-enhanced and inquiry-based implementations. It can be concluded that strengthening metacognitive-executive abilities promotes students’ critical thinking, cognitive flexibility, and self-regulation, which are essential for 21st-century science education.

Abstract

Perilaku self-harm pada perempuan dewasa awal berkaitan erat dengan kesulitan regulasi emosi, tekanan interpersonal, dan kerentanan dalam menghadapi tuntutan perkembangan, namun tidak semua individu dengan riwayat self-harm terus terjebak dalam perilaku tersebut. Sebagian individu mampu berhenti dan membangun resiliensi sebagai bentuk adaptasi positif terhadap pengalaman hidup yang sulit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami secara mendalam proses pembentukan resiliensi pada perempuan dewasa awal dengan riwayat self-harm, khususnya dalam pemaknaan pengalaman, regulasi emosi, dan dukungan sosial selama proses pemulihan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain fenomenologi. Partisipan berjumlah lima perempuan dewasa awal berusia 18–25 tahun yang memiliki riwayat self-harm dan telah berhenti minimal selama 12 bulan. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam semi-terstruktur dan dianalisis menggunakan Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa resiliensi terbentuk melalui tahapan paparan terhadap adversitas, disrupsi makna diri, aktivasi sistem protektif, rekonstruksi makna pengalaman self-harm, integrasi pengalaman ke dalam identitas diri, serta terbentuknya orientasi masa depan yang lebih adaptif. Dukungan sosial, kemampuan regulasi emosi, dan pemaknaan pengalaman sebagai titik balik kehidupan menjadi faktor penting dalam memperkuat resiliensi. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pengalaman self-harm dipahami partisipan sebagai strategi koping terhadap tekanan emosional yang, melalui dukungan interpersonal dan rekonstruksi makna. Abstract Self-harm behavior among emerging adult women is closely associated with difficulties in emotion regulation, interpersonal stress, and vulnerability in coping with developmental demands; however, not all individuals with a history of self-harm remain engaged in such behaviors. Some are able to stop and develop resilience as a form of positive adaptation to adverse life experiences. This study aimed to explore in depth the process of resilience development in emerging adult women with a history of self-harm, particularly in relation to meaning-making, emotion regulation, and social support during recovery. This study employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. The participants consisted of five emerging adult women aged 18–25 years who had a history of self-harm and had stopped engaging in the behavior for at least 12 months. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews and analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The findings indicate that resilience develops through stages of exposure to adversity, disruption of self-meaning, activation of protective systems, reconstruction of meaning related to self-harm experiences, integration of these experiences into identity, and the formation of a more adaptive future orientation. Social support, emotion regulation, and the ability to interpret self-harm experiences as turning points were identified as key factors in strengthening resilience. The findings of this study conclude that participants understood self-harm as a coping strategy in response to emotional distress, which is shaped through interpersonal support and meaning reconstruction.

Abstract

Abstrak Pelatihan resiliensi penting diberikan mengingat sejumlah masalah yang menjadi stressor bagi para wanita PMI diantaranya penyesuaian diri dengan kebiasaan baru, bahasa yang berbeda, cara dan gaya hidup bahkan pada konsumsi kebutuhan sehari-hari. Selain itu jauh dari keluarga yang dapat menimbulkan masalah komunikasi interaksi, sebagai tulang punggung dengan tuntutan ekonomi dari keluarga di Indonesia, beban dan tuntutan kerja. Berbagai hal tersebut dapat menjadi stressor yang dapat menimbulkan gangguan kecemasan, stress bahkan depresi dengan perilaku bunuh diri yang kerap muncul.Penulisan artikel ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pentingnya pemberian pelatihan resiliensi untuk pemberdayaan kesehatan mental para wanita Pekerja Migrant Indonesia (PMI) di Singapura dengan memberikan pelatihan resiliensi. Pelatihan dilakukan di Kedutaan Besar Indonesia (KBRI) untuk Singapura. Kegiatan pelatihan resiliensi diikuti oleh sekitar 20 orang PMI yang hadir secara langsung di KBRI Singapura Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan dan pendampingan. Pelatihan resiliensi untuk  pemberdayaan kesehatan mental para wanita PMI diberikan dengan bentuk psikoedukasi yang terdiri dari ceramah pentingnya menjaga kesehatan mental, mengenali perbedaan kecemasan, stres dan depresi serta pentingnya manajemen stres dilanjutkan dengan praktik latihan resiliensi teknik afirmasi diri, penguatan emosi dengan berpikir positif serta meditasi-self hypnosis-Butterfly Hug. Pasca kegiatan pemberdayaan, diberikan self report untuk mengukur kondisi psikologis yang dirasakan setelah mengikuti pelatihan resiliensi. Melalui analisis statistic deskriptif sederhana diperoleh data 70% % para PMI merasakan bangga, berharga, dan bahagia serta mendapatkan pemahaman mengenai cara mengelola stres dengan teknik sederhana yang mudah dipahami dan diterapkan. Sisanya merasa biasa karena merasa tidak memiliki permasalahan psikologis yang berarti. PMI yang merasa memiliki masalah berat melakukan konseling secara online dengan Ketua PKM. Kegiatan mendapatkan apresiasi dari pihak kedubes dan disnaker pusat yang menyatakan pelatihan resiliensi penting mengingat kejadian depresi dan bunuh diri masih banyak muncul PMI. Mengacu pada hasil tersebut, kegiatan pemberdayaan dengan pelatihan resiliensi memiliki nilai penting dan kebermanfaatan nyata dalam menjaga kesehatan mental para wanita PMI sebagai pahlawan devisa negara Indonesia.

Abstract

Denpasar has emerged as a major locus of divorce in Bali, posing significant psychological, social, and spiritual challenges for women. This qualitative case study examined how Tri Hita Karana supports resilience among divorced Balinese Hindu women. Using purposive sampling, nine participants were recruited: three divorced Balinese Hindu women with children and employment, and six significant others (one child and one close friend for each woman). Data were collected through semi-structured, in-depth interviews and analyzed using reflexive thematic analysis. The findings show that Tri Hita Karana strengthens resilience through harmony with God (Parahyangan), fellow humans (Pawongan), and nature (Palemahan) by fostering self-acceptance, supportive relationships, autonomy, and a renewed sense of purpose. These values were reflected in gratitude, emotional recovery, and personal growth following divorce. The study underscores the cultural relevance of Tri Hita Karana as a local framework for women’s psychosocial adaptation after marital dissolution.

Abstract

Jasa pinjaman online yang semakin marak membuat banyak orang tergiur untuk menggunakan jasa tersebut. Berdasarkan data terbaru dan adanya berbagai kasus terkait pinjaman online di kalangan gen z, salah satu penyebab timbulnya fenomena ini adalah karena tingginya impulsive buying yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya regulasi diri. Penelitian untuk mengetahui hubungan antara regulasi diri dan impulsive buying di kalangan gen z dan besaran pengaruh kedua variabel tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendeketan kuantitatif korelasional dengan partisipan sebanyak 200 responden yang berkriteria sebagai gen z yang berdomisili di jawa timur dan sedang menggunakan jasa pinjaman online. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa Short Self-Regulation Questionnaire dan Buying Impulsiveness Tendency Scale, lalu data yang telah diperoleh akan dianalisis menggunakan Spearman’s Rho. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa tidak adanya hubungan antara regulasi diri dan impulsive buying pada pengguna pinjol di kalangan gen z, dengan nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,081 dan nilai signifikasi antar variabel sebesar 0,255 (p>0,05). Temuan lainnya adalah koefisien determinasi variabel regulasi diri dengan variabel impulsive buying sebesar 0,018. Artinya, variabel regulasi diri hanya mempengaruhi 1,8% dan 98,2% dipengaruhi oleh variabel faktor lain. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa regulasi diri bukan merupakan faktor utama yang mempengaruhi impulsive buying pada pengguna pinjaman online di kalangan generasi Z. Oleh karena itu, Bagi peneliti selanjutnya, diharapkan dapat mengkaji impulsive buying pada pengguna pinjol dengan melibatkan variabel lain yang belum diteliti. Abstract The increasing prevalence of online lending services has attracted many individuals, including Generation Z, to use these services. Based on recent data and several cases involving online loans among Generation Z, one factor contributing to this phenomenon is high impulsive buying behavior associated with low self-regulation. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-regulation and impulsive buying among Generation Z and to determine the magnitude of the effect between these variables. This study employed a quantitative correlational approach involving 200 respondents who met the criteria of being Generation Z, residing in East Java, and currently using online lending services. The instruments used were the Short Self-Regulation Questionnaire and the Buying Impulsiveness Tendency Scale, and the data were analyzed using Spearman’s Rho correlation. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between self-regulation and impulsive buying among Generation Z online loan users, with a correlation coefficient of 0.081 and a significance value of 0.255 (p > 0.05). The coefficient of determination was 0.018, indicating that self-regulation contributed only 1.8% to impulsive buying, while 98.2% was influenced by other factors. These findings indicate that self-regulation is not the primary factor influencing impulsive buying among Generation Z online loan users. Therefore, future research is recommended to examine other variables that may influence impulsive buying behavior in this population.

Abstract

Fase transisi dari perguruan tinggi menuju dunia kerja sering kali menimbulkan ketidakpastian yang berujung pada kecemasan karier bagi mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh adaptabilitas karier dan dukungan sosial secara parsial maupun simultan terhadap kecemasan karier pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir Universitas Negeri Surabaya. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan analisis regresi linear berganda. Sampel terdiri dari 502 mahasiswa tingkat akhir yang diambil melalui teknik convenience sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara daring menggunakan instrumen yang peneliti adopsi meliputi Career Adapt-Abilities Scale Short Form (CAAS-SF), Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), dan Career Anxiety Scale (CAS). Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adaptabilitas karier dan dukungan sosial secara simultan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kecemasan karier (F = 43,871; p < 0,001) dengan kontribusi sebesar 15% (R² = 0,150). Secara parsial, adaptabilitas karier memberikan kontribusi efektif yang lebih besar (7,02%) dibandingkan dengan dukungan sosial (2,43%) dalam menurunkan tingkat kecemasan karier. Simpulan: Kesimpulannya, peningkatan adaptabilitas karier yang didampingi dengan sistem dukungan sosial yang memadai dapat secara efektif mengurangi tingkat kecemasan karier mahasiswa. Abstract The transition phase from university to the workplace often creates uncertainty that leads to career anxiety among final-year students. Objective: This study aimed to examine the partial and simultaneous effects of career adaptability and social support on career anxiety among final-year students at Universitas Negeri Surabaya. Methods: This study employed a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis. The sample consisted of 502 final-year students selected through convenience sampling. Data were collected online using adapted instruments, including the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale Short Form (CAAS-SF), Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), and Career Anxiety Scale (CAS). Results: The findings showed that career adaptability and social support simultaneously had a significant effect on career anxiety (F = 43.871; p < 0.001) with a contribution of 15% (R² = 0.150). Partially, career adaptability contributed more effectively (7.02%) than social support (2.43%) in reducing career anxiety levels. Conclusion: In conclusion, improving career adaptability accompanied by adequate social support systems can effectively reduce career anxiety among university students.

Abstract

Seorang ibu rumah tangga yang memiliki anak ASD diketahui memiliki tingkat stres yang lebih tinggi dari biasanya karena adanya tuntutan pengasuhan yang intens disertai pekerjaan rumah yang harus diselesaikan. Salah satu faktor yang dapat membantu menurunkan stres tersebut adalah gratitude. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses terbentuknya gratitude pada ibu rumah tangga yang memiliki anak ASD. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi untuk memahami pengalaman subjektif partisipan secara lebih mendalam. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 5 orang ibu rumah tangga yang memiliki anak ASD, partisipan dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam (in-depth interview) dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terbentuknya gratitude dipengaruhi oleh 3 faktor utama, yaitu emosi dan kesejahteraan, karakter prososial, serta spiritualitas dan religiusitas. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa gratitude terbentuk melalui proses adaptasi yang melibatkan berbagai faktor yang juga berperan penting dalam membantu ibu menghadapi stres pengasuhan. Abstract A housewife who has a child with ASD is known to experience higher levels of stress than usual due to the intensive caregiving demands accompanied by household responsibilities that must also be completed. One factor that can help reduce this stress is gratitude. Therefore, this study aims to explore the process of gratitude development in housewives who have children with ASD. This study employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to gain a deeper understanding of the participants’ subjective experiences. The participants in this study consisted of five housewives who have children with ASD, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis. The results showed that the development of gratitude was influenced by three main factors, namely emotions and well-being, prosocial character, and spirituality and religiosity. This study indicates that gratitude is formed through an adaptive process involving various factors that also play an important role in helping mothers cope with parenting stress.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the language barriers experienced by Indonesian diaspora children in Mindanao in learning Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) from a neuropsycholinguistic perspective by identifying the forms of decline in Indonesian language competence and the neurocognitive factors influenced by a multilingual environment. The study employed a qualitative approach using a Research and Development (R&D) design based on the 4D model, with a particular focus on the define stage. The research subjects consisted of seven students and two teachers at the Indonesian School of Davao, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and document analysis and were analyzed using an interactive model involving data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the language barriers experienced by the participants included difficulties in syntactic structure, tense usage, language registers, and code-mixing caused by interference from Visayan and Tagalog. Contrastive analysis revealed that differences in sentence patterns (S-V-O vs. V-S-O) and grammatical systems were the primary sources of errors. From a neuropsycholinguistic perspective, these barriers were associated with limitations in working memory, attention, and lexical representation, which were influenced by limited exposure to the Indonesian language. The findings also showed that the students’ receptive and expressive language abilities remained limited, particularly in command comprehension, vocabulary mastery, and verbal memory. This study contributes theoretically to the enrichment of neuropsycholinguistic studies in the context of diaspora children and language learning. Practically, the findings provide a foundation for designing BIPA instruction that is adaptive, contextual, and aligned with learners’ neurocognitive characteristics.
