Abstract

Acute respiratory infections are the leading cause of morbidity and mortality due to infectious diseases worldwide. Nearly 4 million people die from acute respiratory infections each year, 98% of which are caused by lower respiratory infections. ARI cases are a concern because they can have serious impacts on the health and development of young children. Although the Pagar Alam City Health Center has made various efforts in prevention and treatment, such as immunization and health education, many ARI cases are still not properly addressed. This indicates the need for a deeper understanding of the factors related to the incidence of ARI in young children in the health center environment. The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between immunization status, maternal knowledge, and household occupancy density together with the incidence of ARI in young children at the Gunung Dempo Health Center in Pagar Alam City in 2023. The growth of acute respiratory infection cases in South Sumatra Province over the last three years has been significant, as seen in the data: 25,366 cases in 2020, 32,336 cases in 2021, and 519,167 cases in 2022. The method used is cross-sectional with independent data collection to find the relationship between ARI-related factors. The study results show an influence between maternal knowledge and the incidence of ARI, with an odds ratio of 11.66. This indicates that maternal knowledge affects the incidence of ARI, with a Chi-Square p-value result (0.000 < 0.050). ARI incidence is higher in children with incomplete immunization status at 26.7%, and in households with poor occupancy density at 25.8%. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that maternal knowledge, immunization status, and occupancy density are related to the occurrence of ARI cases in young children..

Abstract

This research aims to discover the effects of institutional ownership, independent commissioners, and deferred tax expense on tax avoidance with leverage as a moderating variable. Institutional ownership, independent commissioners, and deferred tax expense are used as independent variables, and tax avoidance is used as the dependent variable. And leverage is used as a moderating variable. This research was conducted on manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2016-2020. The method of determining the sample in this study used a purposive sampling method so that, from 196 populations, a sample of 63 companies was obtained. The datasets in this study were analyzed using multiple linear regression techniques.techniques. The results show that institutional ownership and deferred tax expense partially affect tax avoidance. Meanwhile, the independent commissioner has no significant effect on tax avoidance. Institutional ownership moderated by leverage affects tax avoidance, while independent commissioners and deferred tax expense moderated by leverage do not affect tax avoidance.

Abstract

The fast-food industry is growing rapidly amid changing consumer consumption patterns. Products like burgers are popular due to their practicality and adaptability. However, MSMEs face competitive challenges, such as Bao Burger in Padang City. Key issues include conventional marketing strategies and limited employee training. This study aims to support Bao Burger through digital marketing strategies and employee development. Results indicate a 50% increase in social media followers, a 30% rise in sales volume, and a 12.5% improvement in customer satisfaction. Digital strategies effectively expand market reach and enhance customer experiences. Recommendations are provided for other MSMEs to adopt digital technologies to strengthen their competitiveness.

Abstract

This study addresses the gap between the conceptual frameworks of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and their practical implementation in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). While KPIs are widely adopted in large corporations as strategic performance measurement tools, their application in MSMEs remains inconsistent and underexplored, particularly in relation to owners’ intrinsic motivation. This research analyzes how KPI implementation influences the intrinsic motivation of MSME owners in Padang City through a quantitative approach involving 100 respondents. The results showed that the simultaneous application of KPI had a significant effect on intrinsic motivation, as shown by the test value of F (15.961; Sig. 0.000). The value of the determination coefficient (R² = 0.459) indicates that 45.9% of the variation in intrinsic motivation is explained by five KPI methods: BSC, SMART, Benchmarking, Participatory Approach, and Data Analytics. However, the results of the partial test showed that only Data Analytics had a significant effect on intrinsic motivation, while the other methods had no effect. These findings confirm that MSME owners are more driven by the practical and evidence-based implementation of KPIs, especially through data analysis, rather than conceptual frameworks. The novelty of this research lies in the emphasis on data analytics-based KPIs as a determinant of intrinsic motivation of MSME owners. This research provides a theoretical contribution by expanding the MSME performance management literature as well as practical contributions in the form of recommendations for MSME owners in strengthening intrinsic motivation and ensuring the long-term sustainability of MSMEs.

Abstract

Abstract

Skin cancer is one of the most dangerous diseases that can become fatal if not detected accurately at an early stage. Conventional visual diagnosis performed by dermatologists still faces limitations due to subjectivity and dependence on clinical experience. Therefore, an objective, fast, and efficient diagnostic support system is required. Recent advances in artificial intelligence, particularly deep learning, enable the utilization of dermatoscopic images to assist in automated skin cancer detection. This study aims to implement and evaluate the performance of the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) MobileNetV2 architecture for classifying skin cancer images into two classes, namely benign and malignant. The research adopts an experimental deep learning approach using the HAM10000 dataset, which consists of 10,015 dermatoscopic images. The data undergo preprocessing stages including image resizing, normalization, and data augmentation, followed by stratified splitting into training, validation, and testing sets. The MobileNetV2 model is trained using a transfer learning strategy through two stages, namely head training and fine-tuning. Experimental results show that the proposed model achieves an accuracy of 82.42%, with a malignant class precision of 64.04% and a recall of 19.93%. Although the model demonstrates strong performance in identifying benign lesions, its ability to detect malignant cases remains limited. These findings indicate that MobileNetV2 has potential as a clinical decision support system for skin cancer classification, but further improvements are required to enhance sensitivity toward malignant lesions.
