Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the type of processing of tea (Camellia sinensis L. Kuntze) and the concentration of sugar to ferment kombucha and draft Worksheet Students (LKPD) High School Biology.This study consisted of two phases. The first phase is making kombucha tea using the experimental method completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 8 treatments and 3 replications. Parameters measured were reducing sugar, total acid concentration, pH and organoleptic levels. The results obtained were analyzed by ANOVA and a further test DMRT at 5% level. The second phase is the phase Design (draft) LKPD sourced from the research phase I. LKPD design consists of two stages, namely Analysis and Design LKPD. The results showed that variations in the type of processing tea and sugar concentration provides significant effect on reducing sugar, total acid concentration, pH and organoleptic levels. The greater the concentration of sugar, the greater the reduction sugar and total acid content of kombucha tea, and increasingly lace pH of the solution. As for organoleptic color, aroma, and taste the best there is on the treatment T1G3 (black tea, sugar 120 grams). The results of the study can be used as a draft Worksheet Students (LKPD) on the material of conventional biotechnology. Key words : Kombucha tea, Tea Processing Type Variation, Concentration Sugar, draft LKPD

Abstract

This research has been conducted to increase the scientific attitude and Biology learning outcomes with Cooperative CRH model in XI IPA1 SMAN 5 Pekanbaru at 2010/2011 school years. This research had been done on September-October 2011. The sampel amount to 39 students. The parameters were scientific attitude, Biology learning outcomes, students and teachers activities. Result showed, the average of scientific attitude on first cycle was 67,53% (sufficient), and the average of scientific attitude on second cycle 85,47% (good). The average absorption of students on first cycle was 58,69% (less), and daily test students was 75,43% (less), at second cycle the average absorption of students increased 78,92 (sufficient) and daily test 79,46% (sufficient). Learning outcomes students on first cycle was 51,28% (complete) and 48,72% (notcomplete). Learning outcomes students on second cycle was 82,05% (complete) and 17,95% (notcomplete). The group appreciation on first cycle for super was 4 groups and great 4 groups. All groups get the great appreciation on second cycle. Students activities on first cycle was 61.01% (cufficient) and on second cycle 85,50% (good). Teacher activities on first cycle was 88,45% (best), and on second cycle 4,23% (best). The conclusion was Cooperative CRH model could increased scientific attitude and Biology learning outcomes students of XI IPA1 SMAN 5 Pekanbaru at 2011/2012 school years.Keywords: Cooperative CRH Model, Biology learning outcomes, scientific attitude

Abstract

ABSTRACT  This research aimed to identification of bacteria market organic waste Pekanbaru city om march-June 2016. Result of the research use for make a material learning design the form student worksheet in biologi SMA. The research conducted with 2 phase namely experimental research and design or material learning the from student worksheet. Method of the research is purvosive sampling method wich set sampel taked location based on waste spread. Identification of bacteria wich macroscopis observation is cell shape, edge cell and colour cell wall bacteria, gram colour, and Biohchemical test. Result of research showed 10 genus bacteria found from 4 market Pekanbaru city, 10 genus of bacteri consist of genus Enterobacter, Streptococcus, Streptomyces, Holobacterium, Proteus, Eschericia, Neisseria, Pseudomonas, Klebseilla and Bacillus. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengendalikan pencemaran lingkungan oleh biosolar menggunakan bakteri Bacillus cereus strain IMB-11 dengan mengoptimalkan rasio nutrisi bakteri. Penelitian dilakukan pada Desember 2020-Januari 2021 di laboratorium Mikrobiologi, Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Riau. Media yang digunakan adalah SMSS dengan menambahkan 4 variasi rasio nutrien berupa karbon, nitrogen dan Fosfor dengan rasio 100:10:1, 100:10:0.5, 100:5:1 dan 100:5:0,5 dengan menambahkan 10% bakteri Bacillus cereus strain IMB-11. Parameter yang diamati adalah perubahan warna dan kekeruhan media kultur serta jumlah koloni bakteri dalam mendegradasi biosolar. Rasio nutrien C:N:P 100:10:1 memberikan pertumbuhan optimal bagi bakteri dalam mendegradasi biosolar, terlihat dari jumlah koloni yang lebih tinggi yaitu mencapai 2.42x109 CFU/mL pada hari ke 3, serta perubahan warna dan kekeruhan media yang cenderung terjadi lebih cepat dibandingkan variasi rasio nutrien lainnya. Hasil penelitian dapat dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran Poster pada materi bakteri kelas X SMA. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu Rasio nutrien C:N:P=10:10:1 memberikan pertumbuhan lebih optimal terhadap bakteri Bacillus cereus Strain IMB-11 dibandingkan dengan rasio nutrien lainnya dan hasil penelitian dapat dijadikan sebagai rancangan media poster materi Bakteri kelas X SMA 3.5 Mengidentifikasi struktur, cara hidup, reproduksi dan peran bakteri dalam kehidupan dan KD 4.5 Menyajikan data tentang ciri-ciri dan peran bakteri dalam kehidupan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  This research was aimed at studying the identification of bacteria from the liquid waste of petroleum from August to October 2014. The result of research was used to development a learning module in basic microbiology course. This research was implemented in 2 steps, they are Laboratory research and development a learning module by use of ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) development. Isolation of bacteria was under taken using thinning methods (platting methods) grown at solid media Stone Mineral Salt Solution Extract Yeast (SMSSe) added with crude oil as selective media. Colonies observed on the media after incubation on the temperature 28-300C for 24-48 hours were identified based on macroscopic observations, microscopic and biochemical tests to ensure that the bacteria identified was absolutely petroleum bacteria. The research result carried out 3 genera of bacteria namely Enterobacter, Pseudomonas and Klebsiella. The result of research is developed as learning module in the concept of prokaryot to enrich teaching materials in basic microbiology course. Key words: Identification, SMSSe Media, Learning Module

Abstract

Oxygen content is a limiting factor in the process of hydrocarbon compounds degradation by hydrocarbonoclastic bacteria. Oxygen may be supplied through agitation (stirring) during fermentation process by hydrocarbonoclastic bacteria. This study aims to to determine the optimal agitation speed for batch fermentation process by hydrocarbonoclastic bacteria isolated from the waste tank of PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI) Petapahan, Riau. This study was conducted in Biota laboratory, Universitas Andalas, West Sumatra, Indonesia. Hydrocarbonoclastic bacteria were recovered from waste samples by culturing into nutrient broth. Three different agitation speed viz. 110, 120, and 130 rpm were selected as optimization factors. The results show that the percentage of total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) degradation are 79.72, 87.49, and 88.35 for 110, 120, and 130 rpm, respectively. Meanwhile, chemical oxygen demand (COD) monitored during fermentation are 88.48, 90.06, and 90.16%, respectively. The agitation speed of 130 rpm is then designated as optimum factor for hydrocarbon degradation by hydrocarbonoclastic bacteria.

Abstract

Community service activities have been carried out in the form of local fruit-based yoghurt making techniques from Bagan Manunggal Village, Bagan Sinembah sub-district, Rokan Hilir Regency. This activity is an application of the use of appropriate technology with Biotechnology to the community which aims to empower the economy of the local community through processing fruits into yoghurt. Service activities are carried out in two stages, namely; the socialization stage to the community, the training phase and guidance on making yoghurt from fruits. The socialization phase was conducted in collaboration with the village government and the PKK Kepenghuluan Bagan Manunggal Driving Team. The training phase is carried out with direct demonstration methods, guidance and open discussion related to making Yogurt from local fruits. The results of this activity are obtained by Yogurt products in the form of Pineapple Yogurt, Salak Yogurt, Jackfruit Yogurt, Banana Yogurt, and Dragon Fruit Yogurt.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to study fermentation with alcohol content of tapai pulut putih (Oryza sativa glutinosa) based on conventional biotechnology concepts and fermentation time on alcohol content of tapai pulut putih (oryza sativa glutinosa) as a module designed on conventional biology class XII high school concepts. The research method consisted of two preparations, namely the making of Tapai Pulut Putih (Oryza sativa glutinosa) and the manufacture of a Biology High School module design. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Biology Education Study Program FKIP University of Riau to produce white tapai pulut and measurements of alcohol content, temperature, and pH, starting in April to June 2018. This study used an experimental method with Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 works and 3 results obtained 18 experimental planning. From the research conducted, it can be concluded that the duration of fermentation of white tapai pulut determines the alcohol content. The highest alcohol content at 42 hours fermentation time is equal to 0.75% while the duration of fermentation affects the decrease in the pH value of the substrate seen at 12 hours fermentation time, pH 4.80 and does not support changes in substrate temperature.Key Words: White Fermented Tofu, Alcohol, Conventional Biotechnology

Abstract

Hydroponics is a way of growing plants with flowing water without using soil media, but instead of soil using media such as rockwool, rice husks, cotton, etc., where hydroponic plants are more concerned with using nutrients dissolved in water. In addition, hydroponics also does not require a large area of ​​land as a place to grow crops, making it easier for housewives in Maredan Barat Village to increase their food needs. In this service activity, counseling and demonstrations were carried out on how to grow wick system hydroponic plants with KIT and with alternative materials such as used bottles, as well as making hydroponic plants on herbal plant land belonging to the Maredan Barat Village Office, Kec. Tualang, Kab. Siak, Riau. The purpose of this counseling and demonstration is hopefully it can be used as an example and used by the community in the future after the KKN team is finished in service

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce Think Talk Write (TTW) electronic modules with nitro pro as teaching materials on appropriate biotechnology materials so that they can be used in distance learning. Data collection was carried out in March-April 2021 with 10 class XII students at SMA 1 Lubuk Batu Jaya and SMA 2 Lubuk Batu Jaya for the 2020/2021 academic year. The development model in research is Research And Development (R&D) development which uses the ADDIE development model which consists of 5 stages of development namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. Data collection consisted of interview sheets, material expert validation sheets, media experts, biology teachers and student response questionnaires. Results of validation by material experts 82% (very qualified), media experts 94% (very qualified) and biology teachers 91% (very qualified), recapitulation results 87% with category (very qualified) and student response questionnaire results 88% (very good ). It was concluded that the Think Talk Write (TTW) Electronic Module with Nitro Pro as a Teaching Material for Biotechnology Materials is very suitable for use in high school.
