Abstract

Selama ini, ketersediaan ikan gabus (Channa striata) dipasaran masih mengandalkan hasil tangkapan di alam. Selain faktor teknis budidaya, kandungan albumin ikan gabus hasil tangkapan di alam lebih tinggi dari hasil budidaya. Budidaya ikan gabus secara terkontrol dengan pemberian pakan alami sesuai dengan lingkungan alaminya merupakan salah satu upaya untuk mengatasi kadar albumin yang rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis pakan alami (pakan segar) yang memberikan pertumbuhan dan kadar albumin tertinggi pada ikan gabus (C. striata) yang dibudidayakan secara terkontrol. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan mengujikan tiga jenis pakan segar (ikan nilem, cacing tanah, dan berudu), dan masing-masing diberi tiga kali ulangan. Benih ikan gabus (berukuran 8,54±1,85 g) dipelihara dalam baskom (diameter 48 cm dan tinggi 22 cm) yang telah diisi dengan air tawar sebanyak 6 L dengan kepadatan 3 ekor per wadah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian jenis pakan segar tidak memberikan pengaruh (p>0,05) terhadap laju pertumbuhan spesifik harian, pertumbuhan bobot mutlak dan kelangsungan hidup benih ikan gabus dengan lama pemeliharaan 21 hari. Persentase kadar albumin lebih tinggi diperoleh pada benih ikan gabus yang diberi pakan segar jenis berudu (4,2%) dibandingkan cacing tanah (3,10%) dan ikan nilem (3,03%). Pakan segar jenis berudu dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan kadar albumin dalam pemeliharaan benih ikan gabus secara terkontrol.

Abstract

The enactment of PERMENTAN Number 10 of 2022 (Ministerial Regulation of Agriculture), which serves as a reference, indicates that pond farmers do not have the right to receive subsidized fertilizers. Additionally, the scarcity and rising prices of non-subsidized fertilizers in the market have led to a decrease in the productivity of fish and shrimp ponds, particularly those managed using conventional systems. This situation has also resulted in a decline in the income of the community as business actors. The objective of this community service activity is to provide guidance on cultivating Gracilaria sp. seaweed as one of the potential commodities that can be developed to maximize pond productivity. The socialization materials about seaweed Gracilaria sp. and its cultivation include preparation stages, seed spreading, monitoring, fertilization, harvesting, drying, storage in warehouses, and seaweed packaging. The results of this activity show the participants' enthusiasm to experiment with seaweed cultivation in one of the participants' ponds. Once it grows well, other farmers will begin to cultivate it. Farmers have understood about Gracilaria sp. seaweed and its cultivation, and they desire the realization and support of seaweed cultivation.

Abstract

Dampelas Lake, also known as Talaga Lake, in Central Sulawesi Indonesia, lacks data on fish communities, especially biological aspects, including a wild population of bonylip barb Osteochilus vittatus (Valenciennes, 1842). Locally known as ikan nilem, this freshwater fish commodity is not native to Sulawesi. The purpose of this research was to analyze the length-weight relationship, condition factor and DNA barcode of the bonylip barb population in Dampelas Lake. Bonylip barb specimens (101 males and 78 females) were collected from Lake Dampelas during July 2023 using fish traps. The total length and weight ranges were 57-211 mm and 3-107 g. Length-weight relationships were W = 3×10-5 L2,8219 (males); W = 3×10-6 L3,2574 (females); and W = 1,1×10-5 L3,0176 (both sexes combined), indicating an isometric growth pattern. Condition factor ranged from 0.471-1.652 with similar mean values for males (1.01) and females (1.02). DNA barcodes for Lake Dampelas bonylip barbs nested in one of four O. vittatus clades, indicating a need for reviewing Osteochilus taxonomy. Most adult females had spent gonads, indicating seasonal spawning, with implications for developing an economically viable fishery which could also help control this non-native species in Dampelas Lake.Keywords: Cyprinidae, freshwater fisheries, growth pattern, introduced fish, mitochondrial DNA

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan finansial usaha budidaya ikan lele di Kecamatan Dolo Kabupaten Sigi. Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 5 orang pembudidaya yang melakukan usaha budidaya ikan lele sangkuriang, dimana dalam penentuan respnden dilakukan secara sengaja (Purposive sampling) dan untuk mencapai tujuan dari penelitian ini Metode analisis yang di gunakan adalah Net Present Value (NPV), Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C), Payback Period (PP). Hasil Analisis Kelayakan Finansial Usaha Budidaya Ikan Lele Sangkuriang Di Kecamatan Dolo Kabupaten Sigi menunjukan hasil Net Present Value (NPV) sebesar Rp. 7.346.847, hal ini menunjukan bahwa NPV positif ( NPV>0 ) layak untuk di lanjutkan, hasil perhitungan paybeck periode yang di peroleh memiliki masa pengembalian selama kurang lebih 2 tahun 2 bulan artinya dalam jangka waktu tersebut biaya investasi yang dikelurkan dapat kembali, menunjukan waktu pengembalian modal yang akan di gunakan untuk pengembalian usaha budidaya ikan lele, dimana nilai PP yang diperoleh adalah 2 tahun 2 bulan dengan waktu pengembalian lebih rendah dari umur usaha sehingga Pengembangan usaha ini layak untuk di jalankan.

Abstract

Stunting merupakan masalah gagal tumbuh pada anak balita akibat kekurangan gizi kronis, yang berdampak pada penurunan produktivitas dan peningkatan risiko penyakit degeneratif di kemudian hari. Pemberian makanan yang tidak tepat dan kurang gizi menjadi penyebab utama stunting. Dalam upaya pencegahan stunting di Desa Tosale, pemanfaatan sumber daya lokal menjadi penting untuk meningkatkan kualitas gizi anak-anak. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan program kerja ini bertujuan memberikan pengetahuan kepada masyarakat Desa Tosale mengenai stunting dan pencegahannya pada bayi berisiko. Pelatihan ini menggunakan metode praktik langsung yang melibatkan 10 ibu-ibu kader Pembuatan Makanan Tambahan (PMT) sebagai pesertanya. Kegiatan inti pelatihan ini adalah praktik pembuatan puding daun kelor sebagai alternatif makanan tambahan pencegah stunting, disertai dengan pemaparan materi terkait stunting dan manfaat daun kelor. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam membuat puding daun kelor sebagai makanan tambahan bergizi. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa pemanfaatan sumber daya lokal seperti daun kelor melalui pelatihan pembuatan makanan tambahan yang variatif perlu terus didukung, dan kegiatan ini memberikan alternatif bagi ibu-ibu kader PMT dalam menyajikan makanan tambahan yang berpotensi mencegah stunting pada bayi berisiko di Desa Tosale. Pelatihan serupa dengan memanfaatkan bahan pangan lokal lainnya disarankan untuk memperkaya pilihan makanan tambahan bergizi.

Abstract

The cultivation of vegetable crops carried out by the community in the Transmigration Settlement Unit (UPT) Palu Valley, Central Sulawesi has been going on for a long time, but has not been able to increase their income and welfare, due to various problems faced such as: low productivity of farming which is produced because it is cultivated on dryland, pest and plant disease attacks, difficulty in obtaining inorganic fertilizers and pesticides needed during farming, and group member participation in farmer group meetings to discuss various matters of common interest within the farmer group is very low.  The solution offered is to implement pest and disease control technology, organic fertilizer development technology and assistance in improving farmer group management. Community Partnership Empowerment aims to assist partner farmer groups in providing biorational pesticides made from local resources and improve management of farmer groups so that they can play an optimal role in helping farmer group members in various activities with local government. This community empowerment program was implemented at UPT Bulupountu Jaya, Sigi Biromaru District, Sulawsesi Tengah, from July to September 2024, by implementing community assistance methods to increase the knowledge and skills of participants as one of the efforts to empower partners. Implementation of training in the manufacture and development of biorational pesticides in the "Tani Mandiri" group can be adopted by participants because the method of manufacture is simple and easy to do. There are 3 types of plants that are made into botanical insecticides, namely vitex (Vitex negundo L), biduri (Callotropis gigantea L.) and kirinyuh (Cromolaena odorata L), while the biofungicide being developed is liquid trichoderma, as well as biological fertilizer made in the form of PGPR. The technology application demonstration plot shows that biorational pesticide application can reduce the intensity of pest and disease attacks on vegetable crops. The use of plant extracts as botanical insecticides and trichoderma biofungicides can reduce the intensity of pest and disease attacks on vegetable crops, so they can be used as an alternative to synthetic chemical pesticides.

Abstract

Keberhasilan suatu kegiatan budidaya terutama pada skala intensif salah satunya ditentukan oleh pakan buatan. Karenanya, pakan buatan menghabiskan porsi terbesar biaya operasional dalam suatu kegiatan budidaya. Penelitian tentang penggunaan bahan pakan alternatif banyak dilakukan untuk menekan besarnya biaya pakan ikan. Salah satunya adalah pemanfaatan limbah kulit pisang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat untuk melihat pertumbuhan dan respon fisiologis ikan nila yabf diberi pakan mengandung tepung kulit pisang yang difermentasi Saccharomycess cerevisiae sehingga mendapatkan informasi yang lebih dalam mengenai potensi tepung kulit pisang terfermentasi untuk dijadikan bahan baku pakan menggantikan bahan baku pakan import yang memiliki harga tinggi seperti tepung ikan dan kedelai. Kulit pisang yang digunakan adalah jenis pisang kepok matang yang dihaluskan dan difermentasi denga ragi roti S. cerevisiae sebanyak 2%. Dosis yang digunakan adalah 0%, 10%, 15% dan 20%. Parameter yang diujikan adalah pertumbuhan bobot mutlak, TKO, gula darah dan IHS. pertumbuhan bobot mutlak, TKO, gula darah dan IHS terbaik terlihat pada perlakuan 15% kemudian diususl oleh perlakuan 20%, 10% dan terakhir adalah kontrol 0%. Dari hasil yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa tepung kulit pisang terfermentasi dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan baku pakan untuk mengurangi penggunaan bahan baku pakan import seperti tepung ikan dan tepung kedelai.

Abstract

Indonesia could potentially benefit significantly from economically important lobster species of the Panulirus genus, particularly the painted spiny lobster (P. versicolor) and the white-whiskered coral crayfish (P. femoristriga). Effective conservation decisions relating to these species require detailed knowledge of morphological variation and genetic relationships, especially in Palu Bay, Central Sulawesi, which is broadly considered pivotal for lobster conservation management. In this study, we conducted morphometric and genetic analyses to examine diversity and population structure of P. versicolor and P. femoristriga. From May to November 2021, a total of 72 specimens were collected in Kabonga Village, Donggala Regency, consisting of 53 P. versicolor and 19 P. femoristriga. Using the truss morphometric method, we divided the lobster body into four regions and measured 24 morphometric characters. Despite shared external traits, our truss morphometric analysis indicated that the two species represent distinct populations. Genetic analyses were performed on representative samples (n = 2) using mitochondrial COI sequences, confirming their identity as P. versicolor and P. femoristriga. Although haplotype analysis revealed genetic variability, the analysis of molecular variance (AMOVA) showed that the two populations shared genetic traits and had no significant genetic differences. Haplotype networks further indicated interconnections with more than one nucleotide substitution among haplotypes. Our findings demonstrate that although P. versicolor and P. femoristriga coexist in Palu Bay, they are morphologically distinct and require separate management and conservation strategies. These results provide baseline information for developing sustainable lobster fishery management in Central Sulawesi.

Abstract

This research investigates the phytochemical composition, antioxidant activity, and antibacterial efficacy of Ipomoea pes-caprae extracts collected from Pantai Talang Siring Pamekasan, Madura. Phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolic compounds, terpenoids, tannins, and saponins in the extracts, indicating their rich bioactive profile. Antioxidant activity assessed via the DPPH assay demonstrated concentration-dependent scavenging of free radicals, with methanol and ethanol extracts exhibiting superior activity compared to the aqueous extract. Antibacterial assays against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus revealed significant inhibitory effects, with methanol and ethanol extracts displaying greater potency than the aqueous extract. These findings underscore the potential of Ipomoea pes-caprae as a source of natural antioxidants and antimicrobial agents, warranting further investigation into its pharmacological applications and therapeutic potential.

Abstract

Introduction: Eel fish oil (Anguilla marmorata (Q.) Gaimard) highlighted its nutritional advantages, especially vitamin A, EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), and omega-3. Unsaturated fats in fish oil are known to have positive effects in the treatment of various diseases, although the potential negative impacts also need to be considered. Methods: This research aims to focus on the cytotoxic activity of eel fish oil and carry out extraction using the soxhlation method, Thomson and Weil, and Metode fixed dose. To evaluate the toxicity of the extract, the acute toxicity test was carried out by measuring the middle lethal dose (LD50), which is often used as a benchmark. Apart from that, the research also aims to determine the lethal dose 50 (LD??) value of eel fish oil, namely the dose that can cause the death of 50% of the test animal population. The extraction process uses diethyl ether solvent at 60°C, followed by purification using a 3% bentonite adsorbent. The test was carried out twice with female mice and rats as test animals, divided into groups with oral doses of 5, 50, 300, 2000, and 5000 mg/kg. Result: The results showed no deaths in the test animals, and the LD50 of eel fish oil extract was greater than the dose used. Clinical symptoms in mice include decreased motor activity and increased grooming frequency as the dose increases, as well as increased muscle tone and tension responses. Conclusion: Based on the research results, it can be concluded that eel fish oil extracts up to a dose of 5000 mg/kg are still classified as "safe" for use because they do not cause death in test animals.
