Abstract

The flood disaster in the coastal area of Pekalongan City resulted in stagnant water, thus impacting the livelihoods of the community previously. The adaptation that has been made to deal with these conditions is by cultivating saline tilapia. Feed is the most important factor in supporting the growth of saline tilapia production. However, research on feed quality and frequency that has been carried out for tilapia production has not been optimal in obtaining the results obtained. This study aims to determine the effect of different feeding rates on growth performance, feed utilization and survival rate of tilapia reared in stagnant brackish water. The study consisted of feeding rates of 3%, 5%, 7% and 9% with three replications, and parameters were observed every seven days. Based on the research results it is known that the optimal feeding rate in saline tilapia culture ranges from 6.67% - 7% based on growth parameters. Although the other parameters do not show the same feeding rate as the growth parameter, these parameters are still in a good range for saline tilapia culture.

Abstract

Abstract

The decline in rice productivity is attributed to the excessive use of chemical fertilizers, which leads to soil saturation and adverse environmental impacts. The purpose of this community service is to implement an organic minapadi cultivation system as a strategy to increase agricultural productivity in Wonopringgo Village, Pekalongan Regency. The community service activity was carried out from June to August 2025, involving 24 partner farmers through observation, extension, and practical methods of creating organic minapadi cultivation demonstration plots. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in farmers' knowledge, experience, and awareness of the organic minapadi system. The number of farmers who understood the concept of minapadi increased from 5 to 22, while the understanding of organic farming rose from 2 to 20. In addition, all farmers gained direct experience through extension activities and field practice. An increase in knowledge of the benefits of minapadi was also seen, from previously only three farmers to 24 farmers who were aware of it. This confirms that the integrated extension approach is efficient in transferring knowledge to partners. Overall, the implementation of organic minapadi (rice-fish farming) in Wonopringgo Village not only provides ecological benefits in the form of improved soil fertility and pest control, but also increases economic opportunities through crop diversification. This activity has the potential to become a pilot model that can be replicated in other areas with similar agro-ecosystem conditions, while also supporting sustainable agricultural development.

Abstract

This community service program addresses two interrelated problems in Krapyak Village, Pekalongan City, namely the uncontrolled growth of water hyacinth in rivers and the high cost of animal feed for small farmers. The aim of this program is to utilize water hyacinth as a raw material for fermented animal feed, thereby reducing feed costs and controlling weed growth in waterways. The implementation involves several stages, namely field observation, coordination with the village administration, conducting trials of fermented feed using a mixture of water hyacinth, rice bran, molasses, and EM4, as well as providing education and direct application to local farmers. The program ran from December 30, 2025, to January 2, 2026, targeting farmers in Krapyak Village. The results showed that the fermentation process produced feed with good physical qualities, such as crumbly texture, brownish color, and a slight sour aroma, indicating that the fermentation was optimal. This program has a positive economic impact, namely reducing dependence on expensive conventional feed, as well as an environmental impact, namely controlling the growth of water hyacinth in rivers. This initiative offers a sustainable solution in line with the principles of the circular economy, namely converting environmental waste into useful resources, which supports the welfare of farmers and maintains the sustainability of the ecosystem.
