Abstract

Scientific creativity is an important thing that every individual must have to answer the challenges of the 21st century. However, in reality, the results of physics research show that the science abilities of Indonesian students are still relatively low, especially in the fields of creativity and innovation. This study aims to produce project-based student worksheet (LKPD) integrated with valid and reliable PhET. This study uses the research and development (RD) method with a 4D development model, which consists of four stages, namely definition, design, development, and dissemination. The instruments in the study used to collect data were validation sheets and student response questionnaire sheets. The results showed that the LKPD integration of PhET obtained an average validity score of 3.95 and a reliability level of 96.25%, including in the very valid and reliable category. The results of the student response questionnaire showed that 93% responded in the very positive category. The conclusion is that this LKPD integration of PhET is proven to be valid and reliable so that it can be an effective learning material for learning physics on global warming and climate change. This study contributes to the development of innovative and relevant learning media to improve the quality of students' physics learning. The limitations of this study have limitations on the application of the 4D model, which only covers the development and Validation stages. Therefore, the implementation of LKPD in the field is needed to improve the scientific creativity of high school students

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Socio-Based Problem-Based Learning (PBL-Socio) model in enhancing the creative thinking skills of prospective physics teachers. Rooted in constructivist pedagogy, the PBL-Socio model integrates real-world social issues into the learning process to foster deeper engagement and higher-order thinking. A quasi-experimental design was conducted involving 53 undergraduate students from a physics education program in Indonesia, divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group engaged in PBL-Socio activities, while the control group followed conventional instruction. Students’ creative thinking abilities—measured through fluency, flexibility, and originality—were assessed using an open-ended instrument and analyzed with the Rasch measurement model. Results showed a notable improvement in the experimental group’s creative thinking performance, with a mean gain of +1.63 logits compared to +1.03 in the control group. Rasch analysis indicated more consistent performance, reduced score variability, and stronger alignment with high-difficulty items among students exposed to the PBL-Socio model. Further analysis through Differential Item Functioning (DIF) revealed meaningful differences across learning styles and educational backgrounds, emphasizing the importance of inclusive instructional design. The findings suggest that integrating socially relevant content into physics instruction can significantly enhance both the quality and equity of creative thinking development in teacher education. This study contributes to the growing body of evidence supporting socially contextualized learning as a powerful driver of 21st-century competencies in STEM education.

Abstract

The digital literacy curriculum in universities, especially Islamic universities, needs to be developed intensively to respond to the rapid exposure of hoax news among students. Therefore, this study aims to develop an e-module for digital learning and to investigate how this product can be implemented in a digital literacy curriculum model at Islamic universities. The Rasch measurement was used to assess fit validity and reliability criteria based on validator assessment and student responses. Many Facet Rasch Measurement was used to confirm validity and reliability from 4 different validators based on e-module development in phase 1 and phase 2 using 10-item criteria. A rating scale analysis was used to check validity and reliability according to 233 student responses and item category interactions. The e-module achieved fit validity and reliability. The e-module implementation showed students gave higher responses, 55% (agree) and 39% (strongly agree), if the e-module can help them with digital literacy for understanding hoax information. The bias interaction and the differential item functioning have been discussed in this study. The findings will provide initial knowledge in the development and implementation of e-modules for preventing hoaxes and will improve students' understanding of filtering information in the digital literacy curriculum.
