Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PPM) di Desa Cikidang sudah dilaksanakan selama tiga tahun berturut-turut. Masyarakat berpartisipasi sangat baik dan menginginkan kegiatan dapat dilakukan secara kontinu serta melibatkan masyarakat yang lebih luas. Desa Cikidang belum memiliki sarana kesehatan dan lokasi Puskesmas terdekat adalah di Desa Cikole, berjarak 3,5 km. Berdasarkan data dari Puskesmas Cikole periode tahun 2019, tercatat bahwa penyakit hipertensi memiliki angka kejadian tertinggi yaitu 135 kejadian. Kegiatan PPM ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman kader PKK tentang penyakit hipertensi dan juga tentang COVID-19. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan menerapkan metode hybrid luring dan daring (gabungan sinkronus dan asinkronus menggunakan media leaflet dan video). Dari sejumlah enam puluh undangan yang disebarkan, kegiatan PPM dihadiri oleh tiga puluh lima peserta. Hasil pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendidikan kesehatan secara hybrid berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan kader PKK tentang COVID-19 dan Penyakit Hipertensi sebesar 13,56%.

Abstract

Azadirachta indica, A.,Juss is a medicinal plant that is used traditionally for some disease, especially its leaves to treat a rheumatic diseases and lower blood uric acid levels. This study was carried out to examine antihyperuricemia activity of ethanol extract, water fraction, ethyl acetat fraction and n-hexane fraction of the A. Indica leaves in male mice of Swiss-Webster strain. Extract and fraction doses used were 250 and 500 mg/kg of body weight and the doses of allopurinol as a standard drug was 13 mg/kg of body weight. The tests were conducted on mice suffering from hyperuricemia induced by potassium oxonat at adose of 300 mg/kg of body weight intraperitoneally and chicken liver juice orally. Measurement of blood uric acid levels were performed using an Easy Touch® every hour for 4 hours after being given test preparations. The results showed that the ethanol extract and the fractions lowered blood uric acid levels in the same way as allopurinol did. The n-hexane fractions at the all doses showed the highest activity, followed by ethanol fraction, and water fraction at the dose of 250 mg/kg at the 4th hour. These results illustrated that the A. Indica leaves might be potential to be used as antihyperuricemia. The active compounds which possibly reduce blood uric acid levels in mice are believed to be flavonoid or polyphenolic compounds because they are reported to be able to inhibit the action of the xanthine oxidase enzyme that converts purines into uric acid. Then, the most active fraction, n-hexane fraction, was tested for its inhibitory activity on xanthine oxidase enzyme to determine its mechanism of action. The results showed that the n-hexane fraction, like allopurinol, inhibited uric acid biosynthesis through inhibiting the activity of xanthine oxidase enzyme with the IC50 value of 132 μg/mL lower than that of allopurinol IC50 58.35 μg/mL. Key words: A. indica leaves, antihyperuricemia, chicken liver juice, potassium oxonat, xanthine oxidase.

Abstract

We examined antiimplantation effect of ethanol extract from ripening burahol flesh (Stelechocarpus burahol Hook f. & Thomson) using doses 1g and 0.5g per Kg Body Weight (BW) on White Female Rats Wistar Strain. The ethanol extract was given orally on daily basis from diestrus phase until 7th day of pregnancy. Two parameter used in this investigation were number of implants and number of born fetus. The fetus were examined by observing their morphology to identify the existence of teratogenic effect. The result showed that the two doses reduced both the number of implants and born fetus significantly. In addition, the burahol flesh as an antifertility agent has two functions: as antiimplantation and abortifacient. Lastly morphological examination on the fetus did not show any teratogenic effect.

Abstract

Kersen (Muntingia calabura L.) is known as a plant that is often used as a tree to absorb air pollution and shade on the roadside. Low economic value and public knowledge about the benefits of cherry as a medicinal and food ingredient is still minimal. The part that can be used as a medicinal ingredient comes from cherry leaves. The purpose of this review article is to provide information related to the chemical content and pharmacological activity of cherry leaves that can treat various diseases. The method used in making this article review is a literature study. The literature sources in this article review were obtained from national journals and international journals published in the last 10 years (2010-2020), which were carried out online through the search engines Google Scholar, Pubmed, and NCBI, using the keywords "Kersen leaves", "Activities cherry leaf”, “Pharmacological activity of Muntingia calabura”, “Chemical content of cherry leaf”, “Muntingia calabura L.”. Journals that enter the inclusion criteria are national and international journals that discuss the pharmacological activity and chemical content of cherry leaves, journals published in the last 10 years (2010-2020), and journals in full text. The chemical constituents contained in cherry leaves are flavonoids, saponins, tannins, and terpenoids. Cherry leaves are scientifically proven to have several pharmacological activities as antidiabetic, antioxidant, antibacterial, anthelmintic, antihyperlipidemic, and anti-inflammatory.

Abstract

AbstrakProduk sediaan kapsul yang berisi ekstrak kulit buah manggis semakin banyak beredar dipasaran dan dikonsumsi oleh banyak wanita. Salah satu khasiat ekstrak kulit manggis yaitu untuk kesehatan karena mengandung zat aktif utama yang benama xanthon. Obat bahan alam yang mempunyai efek antiimplantasi yang berguna bagi pengaturan jumlah kelahiran belum banyak diketahui. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui khasiat antiimplantasi dari produk yang berisi ekstrak kulit buah manggis. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian salah satu sediaan yang mengandung ekstrak kulit buah manggis yang beredar di pasaran terhadap implantasi tikus betina Galur Wistar. Kelompok hewan terdiri dari kelompok kontrol dan kelompok uji yang terdiri dari tiga ekor tikus tiap kelompok. Kelompok kontrol diberi suspensi PGA 2% secara oral, dan kelompok uji yang diberikan suspensi sediaan uji secara oral dengan dosis 100, 75 dan 50mg/kgbb yang selama 10 hari sejak tikus dinyatakan hamil jika setelah dikawinkan ditemukan sperma pada cairan vaginanya. Tikus dibedah pada hari kehamilan ke-11 untuk dihitung jumlah implantasinya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna antara kelompok uji sediaan dibandingkan terhadap kelompok kontrol negatif (p > 0,05). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian sediaan ekstrak kulit manggis pada dosis tersebut di atas tidak berpengaruh terhadap jumlah implantasi yang dihasilkan. Kata Kunci : Implantasi, Ekstrak kulit manggis, mangostin, AbstractCapsule products containing mangosteen rind extract many outstanding in the market and consumed by many women. One of the benefits of mangosteen peel extract is efficacious for beauty, because it contains xamthon as active substances. Natural medicines that have the effect anti-implantation useful for setting the number of births has not been known. The purpose of research is to determine the efficacy anti-implantation of products containing extracts of mangosteen rind. In this study tested one preparation containing extracts of mangosteen rind on the market towards the implantation of female rats Wistar strain. Animal group consists of the control group and the test group consisting of three rats each group. The control group was given a 2% suspension PGA orally, and the test group were given suspension of the test preparation orally at a dose of 100, 75 and 50 mg / kg for 10 days from the confirmed pregnant mice if after breeding was found sperm in vaginal discharge. Mice dissected on the 11th day of pregnancy to quantify the number of implantation. The results showed no significant difference between the test group dosage as compared to the negative control group (p> 0.05). It can be concluded that the administration of a preparation of mangosteen peel extract at doses above does not affect the amount of implantation produced.  Keywords : Implantation, Garcinia mangostana extract, mangosteen

Abstract

Hipertensi merupakan kondisi tekanan darah melebihi 140/90 mmHg, oleh karena itu pemeriksaan rutin diperlukan untuk memantau kestabilan nilai sistolik dan diastolic. Penelitian ini bertujuan menelaah pengaruh konseling terhadap kepatuhan minum obat serta tekanan darah pasien hipertensi terapi kombinasi di poliklinik Tasikmalaya. Metode yang digunakan yaitu observasional prospektif menggunakan analisis deskriptif rancangan Non-Equivalent Control Group, pada Desember 2018-Januari 2019 terhadap pasien hipertensi rawat jalan yang diberi terapi kombinasi. Pada penelitian ini responden diminta untuk mengisi kuesioner sebelum intervensi dan setelah intervensi dengan menggunakan Medication Adherence Rating Scale. Jumlah responden adalah 60 pasien hipertensi yang dibagi menjadi kelompok kontrol dan intervensi. Karakteristik demografi responden dari 60 pasien menunjukkan: responden perempuan = 39 orang (65,0%); berusia 50-59 tahun = 30 orang (50,0%); berpendidikan SD = 19 orang (31,67%); tidak bekerja = 28 orang (46,7%). Responden tidak mengetahui dan tidak melaksanakan diet rendah garam (48,3%); mengetahui tetapi tidak melaksanakan olahraga 51,7%; tidak merokok (96,7%); dan tidak mengkonsumsi alkohol (96,7%). Rata-rata skor MARS pre-test 4,53 dan post-test 4,70, sedangkan rata-rata sistolik responden sebelum intervensi adalah 157,27 mm Hg dan diastolik 86,45 mm Hg. Setelah intervensi, rata-rata sistolik 148,56 mmHg dan diastolik 83,45 mmHg. Pemberian konseling dapat meningkatkan kepatuhan dan menurunkan nilai tekanan darah T2 hitung 44,54 lebih besar dari T2 tabel 6,92. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa konseling berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan kepatuhan minum obat pasien hipertensi terapi kombinasi sebesar 6,18%, serta menurunkan nilai sistolik sebesar 15,93% dan diastolik sebesar 5,5% (p = 0,0001).Kata kunci: hipertensi, kepatuhan minum obat, konseling, diastolik, sistolik, MARS (Medication Adherence Report Scale).

Abstract

Introduction: Drug interactions are events that occur if the use of drugs in a shared time. The drug interactions that occur can produce adverse or beneficial effects. Purpose: to determine the potential interaction of drugs given to outpatients with diabetes mellitus diagnosis in one of the hospitals. Method: the study was conducted using a descriptive analysis design, by collecting retrospective data using prescription documents for diabetic patients in outpatient pharmacy installations in hospitals in the city of Bandung. Results: the study showed that the Biguanida group was often used as much as 82.4% and the interaction of the use of Glimepirid with metformin as many as 25 cases (21.2%) with a moderate level of interaction. Conclusion: The antidiabetic drug that is often used is the Biguanida group with a frequent interaction is Glimepirid with metformin.

Abstract

Metabolit sekunder yang paling melimpah dan berperan penting dalam pertumbuhan, pigmentasi dan reproduksi pada tumbuhan yaitu senyawa fenolik. Senyawa ini telah menjadi fokus utama dalam beberapa penelitian karena efek biologis yang menguntungkan. Lokasi tumbuh tanaman merupakan salah satu yang dapat mempengaruhi kandungan senyawa aktif pada tumbuhan. Lembang, Bandung, Jawa Barat berada di daratan tinggi, memiliki suhu rendah, kondisi tanah yang subur dan sehingga cocok untuk budidaya tanaman herbal, termasuk temukunci. Polifenol dalam ekstrak tumbuhan bereaksi dengan pereaksi redoks spesifik, dalam hal ini yaitu pereaksi F-C dapat membentuk kompleks biru yang dapat diukur dengan spektrofotometri. Dalam penelitian ini dilaporkan bahwa kandungan fenolik total EEBR adalah 18.32± 0.615 atau setara dengan 183,83 mgGAE/100 g.

Abstract

Non-alcoholic fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) is one of the most prevalent lipid disorders worldwide. In the pursuit of drug discovery and development, animal modeling is crucial to elucidate the mechanisms underlying a disease. One form of animal model of NAFLD involves the induction of a high-fat diet (HFD). However, most HFDs exhibit complexity in the formulation, and commercial HFDs tend to be costly. This study aimed to formulate an HFD feed with minimal ingredients that are capable of inducing liver steatosis. This study commenced with the development of 4 dietary formulations (F1, F2, F3, and F4) comprising various food components with specific proportions and treatments. A proximate analysis was conducted for each formulation. Subsequently, the most promising formulation was administered to the rats for 14 days. On day 15, liver organs were harvested for histological analysis. The results showed that among the four formulations developed, HFD F4 exhibited the best physical appearance and nutritional proximate components, characterized by its stability in form and high fat (41.8%), high protein (21.5%), and low carbohydrate (23.2%) content. Histology examination revealed that two weeks of administration of F4 administration led to severe degeneration, inflammation, and necrosis in rat hepatocytes compared to the normal group (p < 0.001), thus confirming that HFD F4 may be developed as an inducer of steatosis in rats.  Keywords: experimental animal model; high-fat diet; liver steatosis ; NAFLD

Abstract

Kortikosteroid inhalasi (ICS) direkomendasikan sebagai pengobatan lini pertama untuk pasien dengan penyakit inflamasi saluran pernafasan persisten seperti asma. Penggunaan kortikosteroid inhalasi memiliki keuntungan lebih dibandingkan dengan kortikosteroid oral karena memungkinkan pengobatan dengan dosis lebih rendah, mengoptimalkan efek inflamasi lokal, serta penurunan yang signifikan dalam paparan sistemik terhadap obat. Namun, terdapat efek jangka panjang dari penggunaan kortikosteroid inhalasi, baik efek lokal maupun sistemik. Tujuan dari tinjauan literatur ini yaitu untuk mengidentifikasi dan mendeskripsikan studi yang melaporkan terkait risiko efek samping penggunaan kortikosteroid inhalasi (ICS) jangka panjang pada pasien asma. Metode yang digunakan dalam pembuatan artikel ini yaitu dengan meninjau literatur melalui sumber-sumber pustaka elektronik dengan basis data Google Scholar dan Pubmed®, kata kunci yang digunakan yaitu “Inhaled Corticosteroid”, “Long-term effect” “Asthma”. Dari hasil tinjauan literatur diperoleh 33 artikel yang disertakan dalam penulisan terkait dengan efek samping jangka panjang penggunaan kortikosteroid inhalasi. Efek samping yang ditemukan diantaranya pneumonia, tuberkulosis, supresi adrenal, osteoporosis, gangguan optalmik, dan diabetes dengan masing-masing mekanisme yang mendasarinya.
