Abstract

The agricultural sector plays a vital role in the national economy, yet its productivity still faces various challenges. One major obstacle is the suboptimal utilization of human resources (HR) in this sector. This study aims to analyze how optimizing the use of human resources can improve the efficiency of agricultural production in Rensing Village, West Sakra District, East Lombok Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection methods through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that farming experience, length of education, age, and participation in extension have a significant role in the productivity and efficiency of farming businesses. Farmers who have long experience are better able to overcome technical problems in the field. However, the low level of education and lack of participation in counseling are obstacles in the adoption of new technologies. In addition, the dominance of elderly farmers is also a challenge in modern agricultural management. Therefore, improving the quality of farmer human resources through education, farmer regeneration, and extension intensification is needed to create a more efficient and sustainable agriculture.

Abstract

Income inequality, as reflected by the Gini Ratio, is a key indicator for assessing the fairness of economic distribution, and in Indonesia, its fluctuation over the past decade highlights complex socio-economic dynamics. This study aims to identify the variables influencing changes in the Gini Ratio in Indonesia during the 2014–2023 period. A quantitative approach was applied using secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (Badan Pusat Statistik) and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. The research employed multiple linear regression analysis, including classical assumption tests, model feasibility tests, as well as t-tests and F-tests for hypothesis testing. The results indicate that among the three variables examined, only the Manufacturing Industry sector has a significant effect on income inequality, while Government Expenditure and National Income do not show a significant influence. These findings confirm that increases in government spending or national income do not directly reduce income inequality. In contrast, the contribution of the manufacturing sector has been shown to improve income distribution, aligning with previous studies suggesting that growth in this sector positively affects inter-provincial economic equity. The practical implications of these results underscore the importance of inclusive industrialization policies and equitable development of the manufacturing sector across all regions of Indonesia as a long-term strategy to sustainably reduce income inequality.

Abstract

The limited scope of empirical studies on the determinants of the Human Development Index (HDI) in Indonesia serves as the background for this research, considering the strategic role of HDI as an indicator of societal welfare and quality of life. This study aims to evaluate the influence of per capita income, income inequality (Gini Ratio), and infrastructure development on Indonesia’s HDI during the 2014–2023 period. A quantitative approach was employed using a time series design, utilizing secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. The analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression, preceded by classical assumption testing, model feasibility testing, and both t and F statistical tests. The results indicate that per capita income and infrastructure development have a significant effect on HDI, while the Gini Ratio does not show a significant influence. These findings support human development theory, which emphasizes the importance of economic and infrastructure factors in improving quality of life. The study concludes that policies aimed at increasing income and advancing infrastructure development are key strategies in enhancing HDI in Indonesia. Theoretical and practical implications of this research include contributions to the human development literature and policy recommendations focused on strengthening economic dimensions and infrastructure equity.
