Abstract

One of the causes of low student concept mastery is learning resources such as textbooks that are limited and less interesting to read or explore by students. Modules are one of the solutions to make it easier for students to understand physics-related concepts regarding effort and energy material. The module that will be applied to reduce these problems is a multirepresentation-based module. The purpose of this research is to analyze the improvement of students' concept mastery through the implementation of multirepresentation-based physics modules on the subject of effort and energy. The research was conducted on class X students at SMK Negeri 2 Jember with a pre-experimental, one-group pretest-posttest research design. The research sample was taken by purposive sampling using instruments such as tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. The improvement of concept mastery was measured using N-gain based on the comparison of pretest and posttest results. The results showed that the increase in concept mastery on effort and energy material was in the high category with an N-gain value of 74.72%. So, it can be concluded that the multirepresentation-based module proved effective in helping students understand physics concepts more deeply.

Abstract

The fulfillment of spiritual needs is essential for individuals with mental disorders, as it plays a significant role in supporting mental stability and improvement. Spirituality provides meaning in life, hope, and inner peace, all of which have positive effects on patients’ psychological well-being. This study aims to examine the relationship between the fulfillment of basic spiritual needs and mental status levels in individuals with mental disorders at the Berkas Bersinar Abadi Foundation in Lamongan. This research employed a cross-sectional design with a population of 80 individuals with mental disorders, from which 66 participants were selected using a random sampling technique. The research instrument was a structured questionnaire, and the data were analyzed using Spearman’s rho test with a significance level of p < 0.05. The results showed that most respondents (88.3%) had low fulfillment of basic spiritual needs, while a majority (59.1%) exhibited good mental status. The statistical analysis yielded a significance value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05) with a correlation coefficient (rₛ) of 0.566, indicating a moderately strong positive relationship between the fulfillment of basic spiritual needs and mental status. The higher the level of spiritual fulfillment, the better the mental status observed. These findings highlight the importance of integrating spiritual aspects into mental health care. Therefore, it is recommended that nurses develop spiritually-based programs, such as regular group worship and religiously oriented support groups, as part of a holistic rehabilitation intervention.

Abstract

In the highly competitive landscape of higher education, institutions must provide quality services to attract and retain students. Continuous evaluation of student perceptions and satisfaction is crucial to ensure the sustainability and competitive edge of higher education institutions. This study aims to analyze the impact of Customer Experience and Trust on Customer Satisfaction, as well as the influence of Customer Satisfaction on Word of Mouth (WOM) within a university setting. This research is explanatory, employing quantitative methods and a survey approach. Data analysis was conducted using Descriptive Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling. The findings show that students have positive experiences with Ma Chung and trust the services provided by the faculty and staff, contributing to their overall satisfaction. These experiences and trust significantly influence students' tendencies to share positive information about Ma Chung with others (WOM). Additionally, Customer Experience and Trust also affect WOM through the mediation of Customer Satisfaction. Students' experiences and trust in Ma Chung's services significantly enhance their satisfaction, which in turn encourages them to recommend the university to others. This study highlights the importance of improving student experiences and trust to strengthen positive WOM.

Abstract

Science learning provides an opportunity to prepare students with 21st-century Engineering Design Thinking skills (EDT). EDT is a means of looking at and addressing daily real-world problems that greatly need solutions. This study aims to explore students’ EDT skills on alternative energy issues, specifically problem identification and developing ideas and plans. This research is a qualitative exploratory study in a senior high school in the Jember district. The learning design in this study uses the Science Learning through Engineering Design (SLED) models. Research data was gathered through observation and students’ worksheet documents. Content analysis is used as an approach to analyzing data. The results indicated that EDT trains students’ thinking processes to become more critical through problem identification and creativity in developing new ideas and imagination. EDT provides opportunities for students to combine their creativity and critical thinking to produce innovative design solutions. It improves students' epistemic comprehension while studying and helps them acquire relevant knowledge. This research is expected to be supplementary information for teachers to integrate EDT into their learning so that students can achieve meaningfulness and epistemic understanding.

Abstract

Abstract

Atom is the smallest component of a chemical element that cannot be changed chemically. The concept of the atom was put forward by several scientists, one of which was Rutherford. From the results of Rutherford's experiment, it is known that most of the alpha particles fired at a thin gold plate are transmitted or scattered with a small scattering angle. In this study, the effect of incident energy (E) on the scattering cross section (σ) and scattering angle (Θ) will be simulated using Matrix Laboratory (MATLAB). Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that in Rutherford scattering, the greater the scattering angle, the smaller the scattering cross section. This is shown in the graph generated in the Matrix Laboratory (MATLAB) simulation in the form of a decreasing exponential graph.
