Abstract

This research is a development research that aims to produce learning tools with Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. Learning tools developed in the form of Student Worksheets (LKPD). Mathematical material used in this study is social arithmetic material. This study uses an R & D development method with a 4-D model which has several stages, namely (1) Define , (2) Design , (3) Develop  , (3) Disseminate . The instrument for collecting research data was in the form of a student worksheet validation sheet which was validated by 2 lecturers of Mathematics Education FKIP UIR and 2 teachers of mathematics studies at SMPN 1 Siak Kecil and student response questionnaire sheets. The data collection technique used is the validity test of the student worksheets and the practicality test of the student worksheets. The analysis technique used is the validity technique and the practicality technique. From the results of the study, the results of the validation of the student worksheets were 92.44% with a very valid validation level. And the results of the practicality of student worksheets are 87.84% with a very practical level of practicality. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the development of Student Worksheets with the Problem Based Learning  (PBL) model on social arithmetic material in class VII SMP/MTs is very valid, very practical and suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

Current developments are increasing rapidly which has an impact on education. Improving the quality of learning requires teachers and students to understand technology. Teaching materials in the form of electronic modules (e-modules) are one form or influence of technology on the world of education. The aim of this research is to produce e-module teaching materials for mathematics learning assisted by GeoGebra on flat-sided geometric material for class VIII SMP that are valid and practical. The type of research used is  development research using the ADDIE model. The instruments used are validation and practical instruments (teacher and student response questionnaires). The research results show that (1) the average assessment of e-modules by material experts is 79.36% in the valid category and the average assessment by media experts is 81.58% in the valid category. (2) The average practicality of the teacher response questionnaire assessment e-module was 90.28% in the very practical category and the student response questionnaire assessment obtained an average of 80.96% in the practical category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the e-module assisted by the GeoGebra software developed is valid and very practical.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa SMP YLPI P. Marpoyan melalui pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). Pendekatan ini dipilih karena dinilai mampu menghubungkan konsep matematika dengan situasi nyata, sehingga dapat memperkuat pemahaman konsep secara menyeluruh serta mendorong siswa untuk berpikir secara kreatif dan inovatif. Melalui pendekatan ini, siswa diajak untuk lebih aktif dalam menemukan solusi, menjelaskan pemikirannya, dan mengembangkan ide-ide yang bervariasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi-eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group. Subjek terdiri atas dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan RME dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen penelitian berupa soal pretest dan posttest berdasarkan empat indikator berpikir kreatif: kelancaran, keaslian, keluwesan, dan kerincian. Analisis data dilakukan melalui uji normalitas dan uji Mann-Whitney U untuk mengetahui perbedaan signifikan antar kelompok. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata posttest dan skor n-gain kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Hasil analisis hipotesis penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan RME secara signifikan lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis dibandingkan pendekatan konvensional (p = 0,0015 < 0,05). Dengan demikian, pendekatan RME memberikan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan pendekatan konvensional.

Abstract

Learning outcomes are influenced by the process carried out during learning. The learning process is carried out by applying innovative learning models/approaches.This study aims to determine the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach on the mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students at Siak Hulu Junior High School. Employing a development research design combined with a pseudo-experimental methodology, the research involved a population of six classes (VIII1 to VIII6). A purposive sampling technique was utilized, resulting in two selected classes: VIII3, comprising 32 students as the control group, and VIII4, also with 32 students, serving as the experimental group. The development phase produced a valid and practical student worksheet designed to facilitate the RME approach. The findings indicated that students who engaged with the RME approach demonstrated significantly better mathematics learning outcomes compared to those who experienced conventional teaching methods. Statistical analysis confirmed the effectiveness of the RME approach, suggesting that it not only enhances understanding but also improves overall performance in mathematics. This study concludes that the implementation of the RME approach positively influences the mathematics learning outcomes of grade VIII students in SMP 6 Kampar Regency, highlighting its potential as an effective pedagogical strategy in mathematics education. The research contributes to providing evidence for the adoption of realistic approaches in classroom settings to foster improved student engagement and achievement in mathematics. Abstract

This study aimed to determine the pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) of pre-service teachers in developing CoRes as a support for designing mathematics learning. Data were collected by reviewing documents of CoRes development results by 32 pre-service teachers after analyzing school mathematics learning documents in the form of syllabi and lesson plans prepared by experienced teachers. The analysis of the results of the pre-service CoRes document made by the pre-service teachers is done using descriptive statistics that are by calculating the mean. The results of the data analysis show that 18.8% of the pre-service teachers achieved very good qualification, 56.3% with good qualification, 15.6% with sufficient qualification, and 9.4% with poor qualification. Although there were still pre-service teachers belonged to the poor qualification, there were no pre-service teachers who failed in developing CoRes. Some individual students still seem to have difficulty developing CoRes. However, the CoRes document that has been prepared is very useful for carrying out further activities. Thus, it can be concluded that the development of CoRes can be used by pre-service teachers as a support to design learning.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Kandungan flavonoid, fenol, steroid, dan alkaloid pada kulit buah alpukat (Persea americana Mill) yang berpotensi sebagai antibakteri penyebab jerawat. Jerawat umumnya terjadi pada remaja dan muncul di wajah, bahu, dada, serta punggung atas. Penyebab utamanya adalah bakteri S. Epidermidis, S. aureus dan P. acnes. Tujuan: Untuk menentukan konsentrasi optimal ekstrak kulit alpukat sebagai antibakteri terhadap S. Epidermidis, S. aureus dan P. acnes menggunakan metode KHM dan KBM, serta melakukan uji parameter spesifik dan nonspesifik. Metode: Metode ini menentukan Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum menggunakan microplate 96-well dengan Nutrient Broth untuk S. epidermidis dan S. aureus, serta Brain Heart Infusion Broth untuk P. acnes. Campuran diinkubasi pada 37°C (aerob 24 jam untuk S. epidermidis dan S. aureus; anaerob 72 jam untuk P. acnes), lalu diamati kekeruhannya. Konsentrasi Bunuh Minimum ditentukan dari sampel KHM tidak keruh, dengan inkubasi ulang untuk melihat konsentrasi terendah yang membunuh 99,9% bakteri. Hasil: Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak kulit buah alpukat)  dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri S. aureus pada konsentrasi 25.000 ppm, terdapat aktivitas antibakteri S. epidermidis pada konsentrasi 25.000 ppm, dan pada bakteri P. acnes  aktivitas antibakteri terjadi pada konsentrasi 50.000 ppm. Simpulan: Ekstrak kulit buah alpukat memiliki aktivitas antibakteri penyebab jerawat.

Abstract

Kemampuan literasi matematis merupakan keterampilan esensial dalam pendidikan abad ke-21 yang menekankan pada pemahaman, penalaran, dan penerapan matematika dalam konteks kehidupan nyata. Hasil studi Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) tahun 2022 mengungkapkan bahwa tingkat literasi matematika siswa di Indonesia masih berada pada kategori rendah. Temuan ini mencerminkan adanya permasalahan mendasar dalam pembelajaran matematika di tingkat pendidikan dasar dan menengah. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada analisis tingkat literasi matematis siswa kelas VII SMP, pada materi aritmetika sosial. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain penelitian deskriptif. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 28 siswa kelas VII dari salah satu SMP yang berlokasi di wilayah Siak Hulu, pada tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Peneliti memanfaatkan dua jenis instrumen utama, yaitu tes tertulis yang dirancang untuk mengukur kemampuan literasi matematis, serta wawancara guna mengungkap cara berpikir siswa dalam menghadapi soal-soal aritmetika sosial. Analsis dilakukan berdasarkan tiga indikator utama literasi matematis, yaitu: (1) mengidentifikasi masalah; (2) merumuskan permasalahan; dan (3) menerapkan pengetahuan konseptual serta prosedural. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, secara umum tingkat literasi matematika di kalangan siswa masih pada standar yang rendah. Secara rata-rata ketiga indikator tersebut menunjukkan persentase kategori kurang. Hal ini menunjukkan lemahnya pemahaman siswa terhadap soal-soal kontekstual dan ketidaktepatan dalam menyusun serta menyelesaikan langkah-langkah penyelesaian.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah khususnya pada mata pelajaran matematika berdampak pada nilai matematika siswa yang masih banyak di bawah Kriteria Kekuntasan Tujuan Pembelajaran (KKTP). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh model pembelajaran project based learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah jenis Quasi Eksperimental Design. Desain dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Nonequivalet Control Group Design. Pada penelitian ini yang menjadi populasinya adalah siswa Kelas X SMA Negeri 3 Pinggir. Sampel penelitian yaitu siswa kelas Xb sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas Xa sebagai kelas kontrol dan jumlah sampel masing-masing kelas adalah 31 peserta didik. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah soal tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik inferensial. Dimana data akan di uji normalitas melnggunakan uji shapiro-wik kemudian di uji homogenitas menggunakan uji levene. Setelah uji  prasyarat terpenuhi maka dilanjutkan dengan uji hipotelsis menggunakan uji independent sampel test. Berdasarkan hasil pelnellitian dan analisis data yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh nilai Sig.(2-taileld) sebesar 0.000 untuk post-telst kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Jadi, jika nilai Sig.(2-taileld) < 0.05 maka H1 diterima, belarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Dengan delmikian, dapat disimpulkan terdapat Pengaruh signifikan modell Project Based Learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Pelnellitian ini melnunjukan bahwa penerapan modell PjBL dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa.

Abstract

Distance learning through the Google Classroom application is the main alternative for seventh grade junior high school students during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, there are many obstacles faced by students during the learning process. This study aims to identify the obstacles experienced by seventh grade junior high school students when participating in post-COVID-19 learning through the Google Classroom application. The research method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews and observation. The results showed that the main obstacles experienced by students were limited internet access, lack of motivation and self-discipline, and difficulties in understanding the material being taught. In overcoming these obstacles, students need support and assistance from parents and teachers. Therefore, more intensive efforts are needed to provide adequate infrastructure and necessary training for students and parents to be able to take part in distance learning properly through the Google Classroom application.

Abstract

Purpose – Mathematical connection ability is a high-order thinking skill necessary for linking mathematical concepts across topics, disciplines, and real-life contexts. Preliminary observations suggest that many students struggle to establish these connections, particularly when learning the Pythagorean Theorem. Methodology – This study employed a qualitative descriptive research design using a case study method. The sample consisted of 22 students, with four participants purposively selected to represent varying levels of mathematical connection ability. Data were collected through a six-item written test developed based on NCTM indicators and supported by semi-structured interviews for triangulation. Data were analyzed qualitatively to identify patterns in students' mathematical connection performance. Findings – The study found that students generally demonstrated high levels of mathematical connection ability, with a mean score of 70.26%. Most students were able to connect mathematical concepts across different topics and disciplines. However, they encountered difficulties in applying mathematical ideas to real-life situations. These findings highlight the gap between theoretical understanding and practical application. Novelty – This study contributes to the literature by providing in-depth insights into students’ levels of mathematical connection ability, particularly in contextual problem-solving involving the Pythagorean Theorem. Significance – The findings are beneficial for mathematics educators, curriculum designers, and educational policymakers to enhance instructional strategies and support applied mathematical thinking in students.
