Abstract

This research aims to actuate the determinants of the capital structure of the state and non-state-owned construction industries during the infrastructure policy and the Covid-19 pandemic periods. Secondary data were collected quarterly from 2013 to 2020 from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Bank Indonesia, and the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing budget using a dynamic panel data with the Generalized Method of Moments. It was found that speed of adjustment, profitability, tangibility, activity, and infrastructure policies affect the capital structure of state-owned construction companies. Meanwhile, speed of adjustment, profitability, tangibility, and exchange rate affect non-state-owned construction companies. The result showed that state-owned and non-state-owned construction companies have a gap of 27.3% and 17.7% %, respectively. Furthermore, both companies have speed adjustment values of 1.38 period and 1.21 period. This means that non-state-owned construction companies' adjustment speed is faster than their state-owned counterpart. Therefore, the decision-making of debt construction companies needs to consider the financial characteristics and ownership of the company.

Abstract

In contemporary society, smartphones have evolved into essential tools, with fast internet connectivity playing a pivotal role. In Indonesia, the deployment of 5G networks, the fastest in the industry, has officially begun, though it's limited to just nine regions. Notably, between 2021 and 2022, the sales of 5G smartphones in Indonesia surged twofold. This research investigates the factors influencing the purchase intention of 5G smartphones in Indonesia. It employs the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) as the foundational framework and extends it with variables such as facilitating conditions and customer preferences. Customer preferences mediate the relationship between price, product features, aesthetic value, and purchase intention. Employing quantitative analysis via Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS 3.0, this study engaged 335 respondents from diverse regions in Indonesia. The findings indicate that attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavior control, customer preferences, and facilitating conditions significantly impact purchase intention. Product features and aesthetic value, but not price, influence customer preferences. Smartphone manufacturers can capitalize on these preferences by highlighting the unique features and aesthetic values of 5G smartphones and promoting their advantages and value for money through digital and print media. This research provides valuable insights for marketing professionals and policymakers in Indonesia's growing 5G smartphone market.

Abstract

Background: The demand for PGA surgical suture is increasing, which was recorded from 2017-2019, reaching 148 million in the world and 1.2 million in Indonesia. This is in line with the increase in surgery. Currently, many foreign medical device products are supplied from imports, reaching 70%, and have high prices. PT XYZ is one of the medical device distributor companies that collaborates with companies in the European region as suppliers. The company often experiences problems in procuring product inventory because it depends on one supplier, which affects supply chain performance and creates various risks in its business processes.Purpose: This research focused on risk mitigation at PT XYZ.Design/methodology/approach: The HOR analysis and fishbone method.Findings/Result: Based on the HOR analysis and fishbone method, 3 priority sources of risk that must be mitigated are supplier errors, fluctuating demand, and limited storage space. Furthermore, the mitigation that must be done is to encourage suppliers to build factories in Indonesia, provide quarterly order forecasting, and hold regular meetings for evaluation and strategy making. Keywords: fishbone, house of risk, PGA surgical suture, risk, risk mitigation

Abstract

This study examined the influence of Entrepreneurial Good University Governance (EGUG) on Service Performance (SEV), Financial Performance (FIN), and Sustainability Performance (SUS), with Leadership Style (LS) as a mediating variable in State University of Public Service Agency (SU-PSA) in Indonesia. A quantitative approach was applied, involving 64 respondents, and data were analyzed using the SEM-PLS method. The findings revealed that EGUG significantly impacted service, financial, and sustainability performance. Leadership style also had a substantial effect, partially mediating the relationship between EGUG and performance outcomes. EGUG influence on performance was both direct and indirect through leadership style. The novelty of this study lies in extending Good University Governance to include EGUG, which fosters innovation, financial sustainability, and public service. Practical examples, such as the Bandung Institute of Technology, illustrate how entrepreneurial governance enhances financial independence and strengthens industry ties. Similar models have been adopted in the United States and Europe, where entrepreneurial governance supports academic excellence and contributes to regional economic development. This approach offers a flexible governance model for other institutions to address their unique challenges. However, the relatively small sample size of 64 respondents limits the generalizability of the findings. The specific focus on SU-PSA under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology may not fully represent other university types. Future studies should expand the sample and include a broader range of universities to enhance the robustness and applicability of the results.

Abstract

The research objective is establishing the relationship between business model, open innovation, and a firm’s performance in context-based corporate accelerator program held by Indonesia ICT industries. The crucial relationships between startup and industry collaboration are: co-creation; IP-sharing; reducing R&D costs; the need for risk sharing; and the primary driver of companies’ sustainability growth. Co-creation becomes the most reliable driver in the issue of the importance of collaboration, and it leads to an independent factor that should be firstly developed and continuously improved. The IP-sharing and risk-sharing factors are both reliable drivers but medium dependent. The startups and industries must have a proper contractual agreement once they decide to share the IP and risk. The integrity factor will be necessary for mutual benefit. Reducing R&D costs and the main driver of the company’s sustainability growth are the dependent variables or outcomes of the collaboration between startups and leading industries.

Abstract

Background: The agricultural sector in Indonesia, contributing 13.7% to GDP and employing 30% of the workforce, is critical to the nation's economy. Despite its importance, the country's participation in the agricultural global value chain (GVC) faces persistent challenges, particularly in advancing agro-processing and integrating into high-value production. Purpose: This study analyzes Indonesia's GVC position and participation from 2007 to 2021, using the UIBE GVC Index and ADB ICIO data.Design/Methodology/Approach: Descriptive statistics and linear regression methods are used to assess Indonesia's forward and backward GVC participation compared to that of 62 other countries worldwide.Findings/Result: Findings reveal significant declines in Indonesia's backward participation, reflecting progress toward self-sufficiency, yet limited participation in complex forward and backward linkages underscores deficiencies in technological infrastructure and value-added exports. Moderate engagement in simple forward linkages highlights the need for targeted investments to boost competitiveness. Strategic interventions in infrastructure, advanced inputs, capacity-building, and global collaborations are essential for strengthening Indonesia's agricultural GVC role. Conclusion: To enhance GVC participation, Indonesia must address technological, infrastructure, and policy gaps. Strategic investments in agro-processing, advanced inputs, supply chain modernization, and international partnerships are critical to boosting competitiveness and export performance. Originality/Value (State of the Art): This study provides comprehensive insights for policymakers and stakeholders, emphasizing innovative strategies to enhance Indonesia’s global agricultural presence and achieve sustainable growth. Keywords: Agriculture, GVC Position, GVC Participation, Global Value Chain (GVC), UIBE GVC Index.

Abstract

The State Civil Apparatus Management Information System, commonly called as SIM ASN, is used to manage staff data that contains all information about the State Civil Apparatus at the Ministry of Agriculture. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the success of SIM ASN, in accordance with DeLone and McLean's information system success model (2003). Specifically, the purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of information quality, system quality, and service quality on use and user satisfaction. Analyze the effect of the use on user satisfactionand analyze the use and user satisfaction on net benefits. The respondents involved in this study are 142 users of the SIM ASN.This study was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results showed that information quality, system quality, and service quality had a significant effect on user satisfaction, but only service quality had a significant effect on use;use does not have a significant effect on user satisfaction; use and user satisfaction have a significant effect on net benefits. By looking at the results, it can be concluded that the DeLone and McLean (2003) models were confirmed to be used in assessing the success of SIM ASN at the Ministry of Agriculture. Suggestion for further research is to develop a net benefit variable that is not only assessed on individuals but also benefits at the organizational level and needs research on the user competency model to find out competency standards for users of management information systems.

Abstract

Knowing the problems and circumstances in a company is needed in the face of business competition, it can be the basis of strategic decision making for the company. Sentulfresh Indonesia has agrotourism products that offer educational activities on the theme of education on animals, plants, and biotechnology. As a new educational tourist attraction, Sentulfresh has the potential of natural resources and market potential that can be developed. This research uses the Business Model Canvas method to identify its business elements and then a SWOT analysis is performed on all existing BMC elements to form the basis of the future BMC idea by using the four-step framework from Blue Ocean Strategy. The results of this study indicate that the business model being undertaken needs some improvement and changes to be able to face the existing competition. Starting from the development of Key activities, namely the manufacturing of hydroponic plants will create a new and attractive value proposition as well as a new educational tourism market with broader customer segments as well as more diverse of the revenue stream. While the development of a value proposition in the form of batik activities will expand the market reach to junior and senior high school levels, even the adult community and generate new revenue streams without adding to the promotion costs for the two innovations above. This research still has many limitations, in terms of research objects there are still many that can be examined such as standardization of educational tourism, service quality, customer satisfaction, cost analysis etc. In terms of methodology, researchers can then combine BMC with other business methods in the Blue Ocean Strategy Book.
