Abstract

The Aglaonema ornamental plant is a horticultural commodity with high economic value and promising prospects. It is well known for its attractive leaf variations, earning it the nickname "Queen of Leaves." However, unpredictable price fluctuations make investing in Aglaonema speculative and high-risk. This research aims to predict the price of Aglaonema over the next five years using the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) algorithm. LSTM is considered superior to other algorithms in handling time series data. The model's performance was evaluated using Mean Squared Error (MSE), Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE), and Mean Absolute Error (MAE) on a weekly Aglaonema price dataset covering the period from January 2012 to December 2023. The results demonstrate that the LSTM algorithm can predict Aglaonema prices with high accuracy, as indicated by the following metrics: MSE: 0.005 – Represents the average squared difference between predicted and actual prices. A lower MSE indicates higher model accuracy. RMSE: 0.07-RMSE provides a more interpretable error measurement as it retains the same units as the original data. A low RMSE signifies that the model's predictions closely align with actual values. MAE: 0.04 – Measures the absolute average difference between predicted and actual prices. A lower MAE value reflects a smaller prediction error. Thus, this research makes a significant contribution to the development of a machine learning-based price prediction system for the ornamental plant industry.

Abstract

The future of project management in the telecommunications industry is not just a distant possibility but a rapidly approaching reality. Driven by unprecedented technological advancements and a complex project environment, this transformation is imminent. This paper explores the development of leadership competencies among project managers in this volatile landscape through a combination of transactional and transformational leadership styles in facing future challenges. Using a scenario planning methodology, the author identifies critical drivers through a PESTLE analysis. The author then employs a 2x2 matrix to categorize environments based on two key uncertainties in the telecommunications industry: project complexity and technological uncertainty. This results in a Telecommunications Project Scenario Matrix, consisting of four future scenarios, namely Stability, Complexity, Innovation, and Disruption Quadrants. These scenarios present distinct challenges and opportunities for project managers, ultimately shaping the leadership competencies required for success in combining transactional and transformational styles. The analysis suggests five leadership development actions. This insight will be valuable for academics and project management practitioners in the telecommunications industry.

Abstract

Aglaonema farming holds significant economic potential, but challenges in knowledge management often hinder farmers' productivity. Knowledge Management Systems (KMS) provide effective solutions for managing knowledge efficiently. This study aims to conduct a comparative analysis of KMS implementation for aglaonema farmers using a structured method and an object-oriented method with the Unified Modeling Language (UML). The research methodology includes identifying farmers' needs, developing systems using both approaches, conducting functionality testing, and performing a comparative analysis based on effectiveness, efficiency, and ease of use. The study's results indicate that the object-oriented approach with UML offers greater flexibility in development and adaptation to changing user needs. At the same time, the structured method provides stability within a well-defined system. User evaluations reveal a preference for UML-based systems, particularly in supporting dynamic knowledge access and integrating market price prediction features. The study concludes that the object-oriented approach with UML is more suitable for KMS development in agribusiness, where an adaptive and responsive system is essential.

Abstract

Evaluation of e-Government is conducted to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, transparency and accountability of governance and public services. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of e-Government (e-Gov)in XYZ institution. The evaluation is divided into three types, first is analysis of maturity level using e-Gov Ranking Hold Indonesia (PeGI), the second type is evaluation of Information Systems Resources (ISR) with descriptive qualitative method, and the last one is analysis of system quality and information quality based on McLean and DeLone (2003) using analysis of Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). As a result, the overall assessment of PeGI from the five-dimensional measurement is good but it tends to be less threatened either. The dimensions of institutional, infrastructure, and application are categorized as good rank while the dimension of planning and policy are weak rank. Secondly, the evaluation results of ISR including hardware, software, netware, and dataware have good performance but the evaluation results of human resources need to be improved. Furthermore, from the IPA results, the low performance of sistem quality are reliability, accessibility, download time and efficiency and the low performance of information quality are timelines and up-to-date. Accordingly, XYZ institution need to make improvements that focus on information and communication technology (ICT) planning, human resources mapping and improving the quality and quantity in the field of ICT, as well as improving the system quality and the information quality to support the successful implementation of e-Gov in XYZ institution

Abstract

Background: Measuring well production is a crucial task in upstream oil and gas operations, where various tests and measurements are standard procedures and integral parts of operational activities. More frequent production measures are required to detect production declines in mature fields. However, existing daily production testing at the Langgak field, Central Sumatra Basin, cannot be routinely and periodically conducted due to several economic and technical challenges. Purpose: The objective of this article is to create a model for predicting daily crude oil well production.Design/methodology/approach: To achieve this goal, the study applies an artificial neural network (ANN) for forecasting daily crude oil well production, utilizing 17,394 daily production records from 26 wells. This sample size is well above recommended thresholds for neural network models, ensuring sufficient data for robust model training and validation. The backpropagation algorithm and the sigmoid function are employed as the learning algorithm to predict daily crude oil well production. Findings/Result: The optimal parameters for predicting daily crude oil well production were 20 hidden nodes and a learning rate of 0.05, converging at 481 epochs with a training time of 13 seconds. Conclusion: Model performance was indicated by high correlation coefficients (R) across training, validation, and testing phases, along with a low Mean Squared Error (MSE). The resulting regression equation, Output = 1 × Target + 0.00024, confirms a near-perfect alignment with the target function.Originality/Value (State of the art): Although this study employs the standard backpropagation neural network (BPNN) architecture an established method in oil production forecasting it contributes original value by rigorously applying 10-fold cross-validation on an 80:20 train-test split of the Langgak field dataset, thereby enhancing model reliability and offering validated insights for forecasting in mature oil fields; a foundation upon which future research can build using hybrid or more advanced neural architectures shown to yield superior accuracy.
