Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a massive impact on various aspects, including mental health, especially for people confirmed positive for COVID-19. People who are positively confirmed for COVID-19 tend to experience decreased immunity caused by feelings of anxiety, depression, and insomnia. emotional freedom technology (EFT) therapy has been proven to reduce mental health disorders but has never been applied to people who are positively confirmed for COVID-19. This study aimed to examine the effect of EFT therapy on mental health disorders (anxiety, depression, and insomnia) in COVID-19 patients in Pontianak City. This research method is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design in the COVID-19 isolation area provided by the Pontianak City government, namely Upelkes and Rusunawa in June 2021. The total sampling was employed consisting of 42 people. A validated questionnaire on anxiety, depression, and insomnia was employed as a research instrument. A repeated ANOVA test was used to analyze research data. The results showed that EFT therapy was effective in reducing anxiety, depression, and insomnia scores in positively confirmed people for COVID-19 (p-value <0.05). EFT therapy can overcome mental health disorders experienced by people who are positively confirmed for COVID-19 and as an alternative therapy to speed up the healing process.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia recently implemented a National Health Insurance program while simultaneously grappling with the challenge of unmet family planning needs. Objective: This study aimed to examine the correlation between health insurance ownership and the utilization of family planning methods among married/in-union women in Indonesia. Methods: This study employed secondary data analysis using the 2017 Indonesian Demography and Health Survey (IDHS). The analysis included a sample of 18,411 married/in-union women. Univariate, bivariate (Chi-square test), and multivariate (binary logistic regression) analyses were conducted to examine the relationship between health insurance ownership and the utilization of family planning methods. Results: The analysis revealed that a small proportion of individuals with health insurance utilized family planning services. Several factors were found to be associated with the utilization of family planning services, including ownership of health insurance, women's age, family planning decision-maker, socioeconomic status (as measured by being in the richest quintile), and higher education attainment. Conclusion: The findings of this study provide important insights for policymakers and public health practitioners regarding the integration of national health insurance programs and family planning initiatives in Indonesia. It is crucial to address the low utilization rate of family planning services among those with health insurance. Future research should focus on fostering collaboration among all stakeholders to promote comprehensive education on freely accessible contraceptive methods, aiming to bridge the gap between policy implementation and effective utilization of family planning services.

Abstract

Background: Dayak Ngaju is a sub-ethnic group of the Dayak tribe in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. This group practices cultural practices as an identity, including the food taboo. Objective: This study aimed to explore the food taboo practices among women of Ngaju Dayaknese living in Central Kalimantan Province. Methods: A qualitative descriptive study was employed. A total of 12 informants were included, consisting of three pregnant women and two breastfeeding women as the main informants, five relatives of each woman, a midwife, and an ethnic leader. The in-depth interview was done in the study of Kartamulya Village, Sukamara District, Central Kalimantan Province. Content analysis was used for data analysis.  Results: All the women were of reproductive age. Types of foods and dishes that are categorized as taboo include unripe pineapple, durian, chempedak, jackfruit; gourami (kalui), catfish/lele, puffer fish/buntal, wallago/tapah, snakehead fish/kerandang, marble goby/bakut/betutu, forest snakehead fish/jujung, shark catfish/patin; luffa gourd/gambas/oyong, bamboo shoots, stinky beans/jengkol; and soda. The food taboo for breastfeeding mothers was not described in detail. Conclusion: There was no reason to accept the scientific aspects of avoiding those foods rationally. Restricting the consumption of food during pregnancy and breastfeeding might have the risk of being anemic. Further study can include the anemia assessment to examine the impact of food taboo practices and anemia. Stakeholders at the village level can collaborate to decrease the negative health impact of food taboo practices on pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.

Abstract

The community service carried out at the UPT Puskesmas Parit H. Husin II was carried out in order to increase individual awareness in the community to continue using masks in the puskesmas area to prevent the transmission of ISPA, TBC and Covid, especially during the smog season due to the forest fires. Apart from that, this service also aims to ensure that health care staff are not overwhelmed in reminding visitors to wear masks one by one at all times so as to create a comfortable environment for visitors who are vulnerable to infection, such as pregnant women, babies, toddlers and the elderly. The method used during service activities is starting from the planning stage, preparation stage, implementation stage and evaluation stage to adjust field conditions with appropriate Tensorflow-based mask detection technology. From the survey results obtained at the beginning before installation (pre-event) and after installation (post-event), information was obtained that the indicators measured in this service activity had been achieved above the 70% standard so it could be concluded that this service activity produced good results. good enough. This can also be seen in visitors who are starting to orderly wear masks when entering the community health center area and also in the responses from visitors and health care staff on the questionnaire who feel that the community health center environment is more comfortable with the presence of mask detectors which can remind or encourage people to continue using masks, 93%.
