Abstract

Due to the country’s growing vehicle population, major cities in Indonesia are experiencing traffic congestion. Traffic congestion can result in driver delays, inconvenience, economic losses, and air pollution. This paper aims to analyze the road performance on Jalan Gajah Mada (Baloi Indah – UIB) Batam. The method that will be used to analyze the road performance on Jalan Gajah Mada (Baloi Indah – UIB) is MKJI 1997. The standard LOS value in determining the classification of roads in this study is D, or the starting current is unstable, the speed is low and varies, and the volume is close to capacity.

Abstract

Bengkong is a densely populated area where most choose private vehicles over public transportation. This analysis aims to see the interests and performance of transportation users on the Bengkong road. High road use can affect road performance and traffic management, significantly affecting driving Comfort. The physical condition of the road must also be considered so that road users can drive well on the road. The results show that roads in Bengkong need to improve road conditions and the availability of public transport as this can affect travel effectiveness. Data showed an average interest of 3.46 and an average performance of 3.36, and the gap that was obtained was 0.05. Safety while driving holds the highest gap value, with a value of 2.00. While parking lot condition holds the lowest value at -0.54. The data shows that road conditions and driving safety should be improved in this area. At the same time, parking availability and road performance have good results and must maintain their performance.

Abstract

One of the congestion points that will be analyzed is on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Batam. Congestion will occur during the hours of entering and returning from work. Congestion occurs due to high levels of vehicles that exceed the capacity of the road. Road widening also had a temporary negative impact as traffic congestion worsened. The purpose of this paper is to analyze road performance on Jalan Ahmad Yani (Kepri Mall – Batamindo industrial area). All data is processed to obtain the road service level using the IHCM 1997 guidelines. From direct surveys and data calculations obtained, total traffic flow during peak hour is 5490 pcu/hour, free flow speed (FV) of light vehicles (LV) is 54.72 km/hour and 57 km/hour for each lane. The total capacity is 10407.21 pcu/hour, the degree of saturation per lane is 0.52 and 0.54, and the level of service of Jalan Ahmad Yani value is C.

Abstract

Roads connect one area to another. Therefore, an excellent geometric design of the road can reduce the percentage of accidents. For this reason, AutoCAD Civil 3D® is used as a means of planning. This road planning aims to plan the horizontal alignment of the road connecting the main road with kpc Tanjung bara (coal port). This street is located on Jalan Poros Muara Wahau, East Kalimantan. This study used secondary data obtained through google earth and global mapper. Then the data is processed using qualitative research methods. This study found that the road section length was 6,086 m or 6,086 km (STA 0 + 000 – 6 + 086). Bends P1 on (STA 2+680 – 3+260) are planned with the type S-C-S bend. The bend has an R of 600 meters, an e of 4.3%, and a Ls of 119 meters.

Abstract

An efficient network of highway infrastructure is a decisive factor in promoting the socio-economic development of a region. Road construction is intended to connect isolated areas and promote economic growth through good population mobility considering comfort, safety, and smoothness by keeping abreast of transportation technology developments. They were planning the geometric design of the highway through the process of selecting the appropriate geometric aspects as well as design controls that govern the critical elements of the highway design. The current trend of planning for geometric road design is directed at using computer programs to make the results more precise and save time and effort. In this geometric planning, the author plans a geometric horizontal curved road on the Jalan Drono - Nganom, Ngadirojo District, Wonogiri Regency, using AutoCAD Civil 3D®. The creation of this road aims to facilitate the flow of transportation and economic equality of the area with two SCS (Spiral–Circle–Spiral) type bends, a radius of 400 m, a plan speed (Vr) of 80 km/h, a maximum slope of 0.06 and a friction coefficient of 0.14.

Abstract

Jalan Kayu Api Kuala Penaso, Talang Muandau district, Bengkalis Regency, is a section of road that connects Beringin Village to the district capital, with straight road conditions and has several sharp bend points. Horizontal alignment (road traffic) is a crucial point in geometry planning. It can produce road shapes that can be utilized for traffic operations quickly, smoothly, safely, comfortably, and efficiently with two different types of bends. The first bend uses the SCS type (Spiral – Circle – Spiral) with a radius of 800 m. The second bend uses the SS type (Spiral – Spiral) with a radius of 400 m. Plan speed (Vr) is 80 km/h, with a maximum slope of 0.06 and a transverse tightness (fmax) of 0.15.

Abstract

Jalan Majalengka-Rajagaluh is a road located in several sub-districts that is a link to the city and one of the connecting roads to Cirebon City. This design planning began in Cigasong sub-district and continued to Rajagaluh sub-district with a length of 5.3 kilometers on the Majalengka-Rajagaluh road. The results of the geometric design are visualized in the form of drawings using AutoCAD 2D. The design speed (Vd) is set at 60 km/h with a horizontal curve radius of 358 m, a maximum slope of 4%, and an elevation (e max) of 8%. Based on this design criterion, a spiral curve with a circular arch length (Lc) of 74,996 m was obtained. Furthermore, the results of the calculation of the vertical alignment of the length (L) of one type of convex curve in the PPV are also calculated.

Abstract

Cable-stayed bridges with box girders are essential innovations in civil engineering, especially for long-span structures. These bridges, reinforced with prestressed cables and box girders, are designed to handle significant loads but remain vulnerable to aerodynamic forces, particularly wind. The vulnerability is measured using the Pb parameter, as defined by the Ministry of Public Works (2015), which helps determine the windbreak structures needed for stability. This study analyzes the aerodynamic stability of bridge decks with widths of 8 m, 13 m, and 19 m on a 420 m bridge, featuring a 220 m main span and two 100 m side spans. The results reveal that the larger the deck width-to-span ratio, the higher the structure's natural frequency, which improves stability. The natural frequency values were recorded at 0.3 Hz for a 7 m deck (3.2%), 0.43 Hz for a 12 m deck (5.48%), and 0.53 Hz for an 18 m deck (8.2%). The most stable span ratio was found with the 18 m deck, with a Pb value of 0.04, showing minimal wind load effects. Moreover, a larger deck width enhances aerodynamic stability and extends the bridge’s service life by reducing damage risk from wind loads.
