Abstract

The digitization of religious courts in Indonesia is a strategic solution to improve access to justice for women in divorce cases. This study aims to analyze digitization trends through the implementation of applications such as e-Court, which has successfully accelerated the case resolution process from an average of 6 months to 3 months, as well as empowering women by reducing bureaucratic barriers and dependence on intermediaries. However, the implementation of digitization still faces significant challenges, including disparities in information technology infrastructure, digital literacy gaps, and gender bias that has the potential to reinforce inequality in the judicial system. Using a qualitative research method based on a literature review, this study integrates socio-legal and maqasid syariah perspectives to evaluate the impact of digitization on women's access to justice. The results show that digital transformation has the potential to democratize access to justice if it is supported by inclusive application design, gender-responsive training for court officials, and legal education programs for the community. These findings emphasize the need to revise regulations related to e-Courts to ensure that the principles of substantive justice ('adl) and public interest (maslahah) can be achieved universally. Abstract

This research explores how work ability, job placement, and organizational commitment affect employee performance at KPP Madya Dua Surabaya, a public tax office under Indonesia’s Directorate General of Taxes. Amid increasing expectations for transparency, accountability, and service quality in public organizations, human resources are a central factor in institutional success. A quantitative causal approach was applied, collecting data from 97 employees via structured questionnaires assessing technical, conceptual, and social skills, job-role alignment, and organizational identification, involvement, and loyalty. Multiple linear regression was used to evaluate both individual and combined effects on employee performance. Results indicate that employees’ work ability significantly enhances performance by enabling them to handle complex tasks, leverage their knowledge efficiently, and adapt to organizational and technological changes. Job placement that aligns competencies with roles further boosts performance by promoting efficiency, creativity, and task accuracy. High organizational commitment, demonstrated through identification with organizational goals, pride, engagement, and loyalty, increases motivation and sustained effort, improving performance outcomes. The simultaneous analysis confirms that the interplay of abilities, proper placement, and commitment substantially drives performance, emphasizing the importance of integrated human resource management strategies. These findings provide practical guidance for training, precise assignment of roles, and fostering a motivating organizational culture, while offering a basis for future studies to investigate additional determinants of employee performance in public institutions.

Abstract

This research aims to critically analyze the fulfillment of the principle of openness in the formation and substantive content of Law Number 12 of 2025 concerning Amendments to Law Number 34 of 2004 concerning the Indonesian National Armed Forces (2025 TNI Law). The principle of openness is a crucial pillar of a democratic constitutional state, ensuring accountability in the defense sector. The research method employed is normative legal research, with a statutory, conceptual, and historical approach. The results indicate that the legislative process for the 2025 TNI Law did not fully meet the standards for meaningful participation. Although formal access was provided, the substantial involvement of civil society groups and independent legal experts remained severely limited, thereby obscuring the rights to be heard and to be explained. Substantively, there are normative ambiguities regarding the regulation of state secrets and the expansion of civilian positions for active military officers, which may lead to overlapping authorities and reduced government transparency. The lack of clarity in information classification criteria within this law risks reviving a culture of impunity under the pretext of security and stability. This study concludes that the 2025 TNI Law requires further synchronization with the Law on Public Information Disclosure. It is recommended to establish implementing regulations that limitively define the boundaries of state secrets and to strengthen external oversight mechanisms by independent institutions to ensure that the strengthening of military institutions remains aligned with the principles of civilian supremacy and budgetary transparency.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren) are Islamic educational institutions that play a strategic role in character formation and the development of Islamic scholarship in Indonesia. Social change, technological advancement, and increasing demands for professionalism in educational management have encouraged pesantren to adopt more systematic management approaches. This article aims to examine strategic management in the development of Islamic boarding schools in the contemporary era by analyzing theoretical concepts, implementation practices, and their compatibility with the characteristics of pesantren as value- and tradition-based Islamic educational institutions. This study employs a qualitative approach using a library research method. The findings indicate that strategic management is relevant to the development of pesantren, particularly in formulating vision and mission statements, conducting environmental analysis, and strengthening human resources as well as institutional independence. However, its implementation still faces challenges, especially in terms of strategy evaluation and control, as well as economic and financial capacity. The novelty of this article lies in the synthesis of modern strategic management with the Islamic value-based characteristics of pesantren. Abstract

Purchasing buying behavior is influenced by various factors, including personal values, religiosity, and halal certification. Personal values shape individual attitudes, which in turn can affect consumer decisions. In the context of halal products, halal certification serves as a form of assurance and protection for Muslim consumers. This study aims to examine the influence of personal values, religiosity, and halal certification on purchasing behavior, with attitudes toward halal food consumption as a mediating variable. A quantitative descriptive approach was used, with data collected through surveys and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (Partial Least Square). The findings show that personal values, religiosity, and halal certification significantly and positively affect purchasing attitudes and behavior among millennial Muslim consumers. However, attitudes were found to have no significant influence on purchasing behavior and did not mediate the relationship between the three independent variables and purchasing behavior. These results suggest that while personal values, religiosity, and certification shape consumer preferences, purchasing behavior may be driven by other direct factors beyond attitudes.

Abstract

Religious rituals are not merely devotional practices but social processes through which meanings, identities, and spatial orders are produced and stabilized. This article examines the resilience of Sima'an al-Qur'an and Dhikr al-Ghafilin in Ponorogo, East Java, where large-scale gatherings persist amid urban modernity. Drawing on Peter L. Berger's sociology of knowledge, this qualitative study analyzes how ritual practices become durable social realities through externalization, objectivation, and internalization. Data were obtained through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that ritual participation reasserts moral order, institutionalizes collective meanings, and sacralizes bureaucratic public spaces, including state-associated venues. Internalization is reflected in participants' embodied piety and moral-emotional attachment. The study contributes to debates on public religion by demonstrating how ritual practices actively re-code public space and sustain sacred meanings within contemporary social contexts.

Abstract

This study examines the dynamics of culture spiritual consumption among students at Diponegoro University (Undip) in the digital age, particularly through their interactions with Islamic influencers on social media. Using a qualitative approach, ethnographic observation, and in-depth interviews with 50 students, this study found that the consumption of digital religious content is not only an informative activity but also a practice of identity formation, online community building, and the performance of piety. The platforms most frequently used by students are YouTube, with 19 users or 38%, Instagram with 15 users or 30%, TikTok with 11 users or 22%, X with 3 users or 6%, and Facebook with 2 users or 4%. From this data, we can conclude that the digital platforms most frequently used by students to view religious content are YouTube, followed by Instagram, TikTok, X, and finally Facebook. Among these digital platforms, the themes they view and delve into are: ethics/Akhlak (hablu min Allah, hablu min An naas) with 23 people or 46%, Prophetic Biography (Sirah Nabawiyah) by 10 people or 20%, Fiqh by 9 people or 18%, Motivation by 5 people or 10%, and Quran and Hadith by 3 people or 6%. The spiritual influencers that Undip students refer to for deepening their Islamic spirituality are: Ustadz Hanan Attaki (UHA) with 16 people or 32%, Ustadz Adi Hidahat (UAH) and Habib Ja’far al Hadar, both with 12 people or 24% each, Ustadz Abdul Somad (UAS) with 7 people or 14%, and Ustadz Felix Siauw with 3 people or 6%. Islamic influencers act as new authority figures presenting piety in a personal and visual style. Students construct digital religious ethics through new contextual codes of conduct and demonstrate critical attitudes toward the commodification of da'wah. These findings indicate a transformation of the meaning of piety into a social practice integrated with technology and popular culture. These findings contribute to the study of digital Islam and religious ethics among young people in Indonesia.
