Abstract

Work postures that are not ergonomic will cause isometric muscle contraction (against resistance) in the main muscles involved in the work. Unnatural posture can cause muscles to not work efficiently, therefore, muscles need more strength to complete their work, which can increase the load that can cause fatigue and strain on muscles and tendons. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between work posture and work fatigue on workers at PT. Nusantara Sejahtera Bersama (NSB) Beton Indonesia in Tateli Village, Minahasa Regency. Method: This is a correlational research. This research was conducted at PT. NSB Beton Indonesia Tateli Village, Minahasa Regency in August-December 2021. The respondents of this study were all workers at PT. NSB Beton Indonesia Tateli totaling 32 people. Work posture was measured using the Ovako Working Posture Analysis System (OWAS) Questionnaire. Work fatigue was measured using the Work Fatigue Measurement Tool Questionnaire (KAUPKK). Data analysis was carried out univariately and bivariately. Results: The results showed that the most respondents are aged 16-35 years (62.5%), male (87.5%), high school education (68.8%) and working period > 3 years (65.6%). Furthermore, it was found that the most respondents were in the category of very tired work fatigue (71.9%) and high work posture (56.3%). The results of the cross tabulation show that respondents with high work postures are mostly in the category of very tired work fatigue, as many as 16 respondents, on the other hand, respondents with low work postures have the most low work fatigue as many as 1 respondent. The results of the statistical test obtained a significance value of 0.006 (<0.05), which means that work posture and work fatigue are significantly related. Conclusion: It can be concluded that there was correlation between work posture and work fatigue on workers at PT. NSB Beton Indonesia in Tateli Village, Minahasa Regency. Therefore, workers must work in an ergonomic position and further research needs to be done on other factors that cause work fatigue

Abstract

Vaccination against COVID-19 is a global government program with the goals of reducing the spread of the virus, lowering the number of cases of COVID-19-related illnesses and deaths, and ultimately protecting communities from the disease so that they can continue to thrive socially and economically. A person's level of support from their family is one of the numerous aspects that affects their willingness to get a vaccine. In the island region of Indonesia, this study set out to examine the relationship between family support and the acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine. The study in question is a correlational one. From February to July of 2022, researchers scoured Sangihe and Talaud Islands. Three hundred and fifty-nine adults (aged 18 and up) participated in the study. Support from family members and willingness to get a vaccine were the factors examined in this research. Specifically, a questionnaire is utilized. The chi-square test was used for bivariate data analysis. Respondents with strong family support are more likely to have accepted the COVID-19 vaccine in its entirety (88.7%), while those with weaker family support are more likely to have received the vaccine in its entirety (79.4%). A significant correlation between family support and acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine was found, according to the results of the chi-squared test, with a significance level of 0.025 (< 0.05). It follows that having the support of one's family is a correlating factor to the acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine

Abstract

Vaccination stands as the sole preventive measure against the transmission of COVID-19. The vaccination rollout in Indonesia comprises three stages: primary vaccinations 1 and 2, along with an additional 3rd or booster vaccination. However, certain regions still exhibit a stage 2 vaccination coverage below 70%. Various factors, including age and gender, impact the acceptance of the Covid-19 vaccine. The objective of this study was to scrutinize the association between age, gender, and the acceptance of Covid-19 vaccination in the jurisdiction of the Kawangkoan Barat Public Health Center. Conducted between February and July 2022, this correlational research involved 400 respondents aged 18 and above. The study variables encompassed age, gender, and vaccination acceptance, assessed through a fill-in sheet. Bivariate data analysis employed the chi-square test, revealing a significant correlation between age and vaccination acceptance. The prevalence ratio (PR) of 1.504 indicated that individuals aged 18-59 years were 1.504 times more likely to have incomplete vaccinations. However, gender did not exhibit a significant correlation with vaccination acceptance. In conclusion, age emerges as a correlated factor influencing the acceptance of Covid-19 vaccination

Abstract

Work climate, particularly high ambient temperatures, significantly affects workers’ health and productivity. Extreme heat exposure may increase the risk of health issues, including cardiovascular diseases. This study aimed to assess the work climate conditions at PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas TPK Bitung and evaluate the potential health risks for workers. This was a descriptive study using a quantitative approach. The variable measured was work climate, assessed using a Heat Stress Monitor during daytime shifts (08:20–19:40 WITA) with measurements taken every 40 minutes. Univariate analysis was used to describe the distribution of temperature parameters. The average work climate temperature was 29°C, with a minimum of 26°C and a maximum of 35.5°C. Based on the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower Regulation No. 5 of 2018, a Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) of 29°C is within the safe threshold for light to moderate workloads but may exceed the Threshold Limit Value (TLV) under heavy physical exertion, especially under direct sunlight. The work climate at PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas TPK Bitung presents varying levels of occupational health risk depending on the intensity and type of work performed. Preventive interventions are necessary to reduce the risk of heat stress.

Abstract

Workers who are exposed to high temperatures while working indoors with hot environments or working outdoors with hot weather are conditions that have the potential to cause danger. One of the jobs that is directly exposed to the sun is the Loading and Unloading Workers (TKBM) at the port. Loading and unloading activities carried out under direct sunlight can increase the risk of heat strain. This study aims to determine the description of heat strain in TKBM at the Manado City Port. The study used a quantitative descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study were all TKBM who were present and willing to be respondents with a total of 126 workers. Age data was obtained through interviews, pulse rate was measured using a pulse oximeter and heat strain was calculated using the Physiological Strain Index (PSI) which is based on body temperature and pulse rate measurements before and during work. Based on the results of the study, the average value of heat strain was 3.186 with a minimum value of 1.1 and a maximum of 5.4. Therefore, it can be concluded that TKBM at Manado City Port experienced an increase in heart rate and body temperature during loading and unloading activities, which reflects the presence of heat strain in most workers.

Abstract

Abstract

Work fatigue is an important problem in occupational health that can decrease productivity and increase the risk of work errors. One of the factors that plays a role is the hot work climate, especially in semi-enclosed workspaces with limited ventilation. This study aims to analyze the relationship between hot work climate and work fatigue in parking ticket officers in the Manado Megamas Area. The study used an analytical quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach on 63 respondents. Hot work climate was measured using a heat stress monitor (WBGT), while work fatigue was measured using the KAUPK2 questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate using the Pearson correlation test. The results showed that most respondents experienced moderate fatigue (57.1%) and the highest exposure to the hot work climate was found in the morning shift (29.8°C). There was a significant association between hot work climate and work fatigue (p = 0.001; r = 0.401), with moderate correlation strength. The study shows that even though heat exposure is still below the threshold value, working environment conditions still contribute to worker fatigue. Therefore, it is necessary to control the working environment through ventilation improvements, the provision of local cooling, and adaptive work-break arrangements.
