Abstract

This research aims to analyze the learning styles of grade 7 students at SMP Negeri 01 Jaya Pura for the 2023-2024 academic year in East Oku Regency, South Sumatra Province. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects of this research were all 7th grade students of SMP Negeri 01 Jaya Pura for the 2023-2024 academic year in East Oku Regency, South Sumatra Province. The data collection technique used in this research is in the form of a questionnaire which will be filled out by research subjects. Then the data will be analyzed quantitatively by calculating the percentage that refers to the three VAK learning styles (Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic). The results of the learning style analysis of all 7th grade students at SMP Negeri 01 Jaya Pura for the 2023-2024 academic year showed that there were 40% Visual learning styles, 23% Auditory learning styles, 31% Kinesthetic learning styles, 2% Visual Kinesthetic learning styles, 1% auditory visual learning is as much as 1% of the auditory kinesthetic learning style and 2% of the visual auditory kinesthetic learning style. From this research, it was concluded that the learning style of students in Class 7 of SMP Negeri 01 Jaya Pura for the 2023-2024 academic year was dominated by the visual learning style at 40% of the total class of students. These differences in student learning style tendencies can be accommodated by conducting differentiated learning so that it can meet student needs and student characteristics.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of implementing an e-module based on local wisdom in the city of Palembang on static fluid material on the critical thinking skills of high school students. This type of research is a quasi-experiment using the pretest-posttest method. The population of this study was class XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Palembang City. Data analysis techniques use quantitative data to analyze data collected from student achievement scores. The results of the pretest data analysis on critical thinking skills averaged 53, while the average post-test score was 82. This shows that students' critical thinking skills have improved after using the static fluid e-module based on local wisdom in Palembang. This is proven by the results of the N-gain test analysis showing that students with critical thinking skills scored 0.60 in the medium category.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the effectiveness of an e-module based on local food wisdom in the city of Palembang on the collaboration skills of high school students on temperature and heat material. This type of research is a quasi-experiment using the pretest-posttest method. The population of this study was class XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Palembang City. The data analysis technique uses quantitative data to analyze data collected from students' collaboration skill achievement scores. The results of data analysis show the average pretest on collaboration skills was 54. The average post-test score after implementing the e-module based on local food wisdom in Palembang on collaboration skills was 80. This shows that students' skills in collaboration skills have increased. after using e-modules based on local wisdom. The main finding of this research is that the application of an e-module based on local food wisdom in the city of Palembang is effective in improving students' collaboration skills. This is proven by the results of the N-gain test analysis showing that students with collaboration skills received a score of 0.72 in the high category.

Abstract

Purpose: This service aimed to empower PKK members in Sungai Buaya Village by providing practical knowledge and skills to process butterfly pea flowers (Clitoria ternatea) into healthy herbal drinks. The goal was to promote a healthy lifestyle and create opportunities for home-based businesses using local resources. Methodology/approach: The method used was a participatory and educational workshop. Data were collected through observation, pre-surveys, structured questionnaires, and open interviews to evaluate the effectiveness of the training. Results/findings: The training successfully increased participants’ understanding of the health benefits of butterfly pea flowers and their ability to process them into herbal drinks. All 20 participants stated that they were able to make and package the product independently after the session. The evaluation showed a 100% positive response in knowledge, skills, and satisfaction levels, indicating strong community enthusiasm and potential for entrepreneurial development. Conclusion: The service effectively enhanced the participants' knowledge, skills, and motivation to utilize butterfly pea flowers for health and economic purposes. The success of the training suggests that similar community-based programs should be expanded and sustained, especially with additional sessions on ready-to-drink product development and small-scale marketing strategies. Limitations: Kendala utama meliputi durasi pelatihan yang singkat serta keterbatasan fasilitas yang menghambat penerapan mandiri hasil pelatihan. Contributions: This program contributes to empowering women through local resource utilization and provides a practical model for participatory training to develop community-based herbal products.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: Students’ conceptual understanding of Solar System topics remains low due to the abstract nature of astronomical phenomena and the limited use of interactive visual learning media. This study aims to develop AR-based Solar System learning media that are valid, practical, and effective in improving students’ conceptual mastery. Methodology: The research employed a Research and Development approach using the 4D model. Participants comprised 46 eighth-grade students from Muhammadiyah 1 Junior High School in Palembang, selected through purposive sampling. Data collection involved teacher interviews, expert validation (3 experts), student practicality questionnaires (9 students) and pretest-posttest assessments (46 respondents),. The instruments included closed-ended Likert-scale items, open-ended feedback, and concept mastery tests. Data analysis was conducted using the Guttman scale for validity, the Likert scale for practicality, and the N-gain test for effectiveness. Main Findings: The developed AR learning media achieved a validity score of 100%, a practicality score of 96.82% (very practical), and high effectiveness, with an average N-gain of 0.71. Students’ posttest scores showed substantial improvement compared to pretest results, indicating enhanced understanding of planetary motion, rotation, and revolution. Novelty/Originality of this study: The findings confirm that AR-based learning media effectively facilitate conceptual change by transforming abstract Solar System concepts into concrete, interactive experiences. The novelty of this study lies in integrating realistic 3D visualization, curriculum-oriented design, and effectiveness testing. The results imply that AR media can serve as a viable instructional innovation in science education, particularly for abstract topics that require spatial reasoning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan pengembangan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis STEM pada materi energi terbarukan, khususnya Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS). Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE, berfokus pada tahap analisis melalui penyebaran angket kepada 54 peserta didik kelas XI serta wawancara dengan guru fisika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh siswa telah mempelajari materi energi terbarukan, namun 37% masih mengalami kesulitan memahami konsep ketika pembelajaran hanya disampaikan secara lisan atau melalui buku teks. Sebanyak 70,4% responden menilai bahwa kurangnya media visual dan interaktif menjadi hambatan utama dalam memahami materi. Selain itu, mayoritas siswa menyatakan bahwa media pembelajaran interaktif dapat meningkatkan ketertarikan dan pemahaman, serta menilai bahwa pengembangannya sangat penting untuk materi energi terbarukan. Fitur media yang paling diharapkan meliputi simulasi interaktif, video pembelajaran, dan latihan soal. Wawancara dengan guru mendukung temuan ini, menunjukkan bahwa media interaktif berbasis STEM masih sangat dibutuhkan dalam pembelajaran energi terbarukan. Secara keseluruhan, hasil penelitian menegaskan perlunya pengembangan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis STEM sebagai solusi untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran energi terbarukan di sekolah.

Abstract

Current technological developments require the education sector to engage in continuous innovation to advance the quality of future generations. Coding and artificial intelligence are forms of innovation that can be integrated into learning activities. To equip students with these skills, this community service program aims to introduce and train students in the use of simple block coding through the use of 4.0 applications. The training and community service activities were carried out over a period of 3 months with a target of 25 junior high school students in Tanjung Baru Village. The training was carried out through a series of activities, namely (a) conducting a preliminary test; (2) delivering material on the use of block coding for learning, the use of the Pictoblox 4.0 application, and the creation of simple games and chatbots; and (3) conducting a final test. The N-gain percentage result was 89.5%. This percentage is high, indicating that there is a significant effect on improving students' computational thinking skills. The implementation of this activity had a positive impact on the training participants. This is demonstrated by the evaluation results, which indicate that this community service activity will continue with other innovative activities. The implication of this community service activity is to provide innovative coding and artificial intelligence learning activities that are integrated into the curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to see the effectiveness of STEM-based sound wave e-learning in improving the collaboration skills of high school students. The effectiveness test sample consisted of 30 SMAN 2 Palembang students selected with purposive sampling techniques. A collaborative skills rubric with three observers from Sriwijaya University's Master of Physics Education was the tool employed in this study. This study tested the effectiveness of using e-learning at STEM-Based Sound-wave materials to enhance students' established cooperation abilities. The t-test and N-Gain test are used for more reliable measurements to determine effectiveness. The t-test showed a significant increase in students' collaboration skills after being given treatment using e-learning at STEM-Based Sound-wave materials with tcount = 30.377, and the significance level was smaller than 0.05. N-Gain test showed that the e-learning at STEM-Based Sound-wave materials that had been developed significantly improved the collaboration skills of high school students with an N-Gain score of 0.68 in the medium category. The highest increase in the contribution aspect with an N-Gain score of 0.85, and the lowest in working with others with an N-Gain score of 0.62. These results showed that STEM-based sound wave e-learning is a good learning media option in physics learning to improve students' collaboration skills. It is recommended that further research be conducted on other 21st-century skills to find effective learning methods and media in responding to the challenges of life in the 21st century.

Abstract

Pembelajaran fisika terkait energi terbarukan, terutama Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Mikro Hidro (PLTMH), seringkali dianggap sulit karena sifatnya yang abstrak, teoretis, dan minim visualisasi. Kondisi ini menyulitkan siswa untuk memahami konsep dan menghubungkannya dengan kehidupan nyata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh data awal guna mengembangkan rancangan awal media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis STEM tentang energi terbarukan (PLTMH) bagi siswa SMA. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, yang menggabungkan studi pustaka dan studi lapangan. Studi lapangan dilakukan di SMA Negeri 1 Kikim Selatan, melibatkan dua guru fisika dan 119 siswa kelas X. Data diperoleh melalui kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan teknik reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa materi PLTMH didominasi oleh konsep dan proses abstrak yang dapat menimbulkan miskonsepsi tanpa contoh konkret. Guru menilai media yang ada bermanfaat tetapi terbatas, sementara siswa merasa materi tersebut sulit dipahami, terlalu teoretis, dan tidak relevan dengan kehidupan nyata. Guru dan 91,6% siswa mendukung pengembangan media interaktif berbasis STEM karena dianggap memadai untuk memvisualisasikan konsep dan meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa. Dengan demikian, pengembangan media ini penting untuk menjembatani kesenjangan antara gagasan teoritis dan aplikasi dunia nyata dalam pembelajaran fisika.
