Abstract

This study aims to provide knowledge and explain spelling aspects related to language errors in short stories for class IX students of Salsa Percut Private Middle School which have not been discussed in previous research. The method used is descriptive qualitative method. The analysis in this study is based on the fifth edition of Enhanced Indonesian Spelling (EYD) which was inaugurated on August 16, 2022. Based on the data collected, there are a total of 20 findings of language errors in short stories. Aspects seen in spelling errors, namely the use of capital letters, the use of affixed words, namely: prefixes (prefixes), suffixes (endings), infixes (insertions) and confixes (combined prefixes and suffixes), use of punctuation marks in student short stories. The number of internal errors found in the students' short stories was as follows: 6 capital letter errors, 3 affix words: 6 prefixes, 1 suffix, 0 infix, 3 prepositions, and 3 confix, 4 punctuation errors. These findings were collected in short stories by junior high school students in class IX.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemerolehan bahasa pada anak usia tiga tahun enam bulan melalui kajian Mean Length of Utterance (MLU). MLU adalah ukuran rata-rata panjang ujaran yang digunakan untuk menilai perkembangan bahasa anak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pengamatan langsung dan pencatatan ujaran anak dalam situasi natural. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis untuk menghitung MLU dan mengidentifikasi karakteristik utama dari pemerolehan bahasa anak pada usia tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anak pada usia tiga tahun enam bulan memiliki MLU yang sesuai dengan tahap perkembangan bahasa normal untuk usianya. Anak menunjukkan kemampuan dalam membentuk kalimat sederhana, menggunakan morfem gramatikal dasar, dan memiliki kosakata yang cukup luas. Faktor-faktor seperti interaksi dengan lingkungan sekitar, kehadiran orang dewasa yang berkomunikasi dengan anak, dan eksposur terhadap bahasa yang bervariasi turut berperan dalam pemerolehan bahasa anak. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam memahami dinamika pemerolehan bahasa pada anak usia dini dan pentingnya lingkungan komunikatif yang mendukung perkembangan bahasa anak. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai acuan bagi orang tua, pendidik, dan peneliti dalam mendukung perkembangan bahasa anak secara optimal.

Abstract

This article aims to provide an initial view of the use of abusive words in the film "Bumi Manusia" and can be used as a reference in analyzing the use of abusive words in this film. Therefore, an analysis of the use of the word heinous in this film can provide a deeper understanding of the social conditions depicted in the film. Sociolinguistic studies study the relationship between language and society, and an analysis of the use of the word obscenity in the film "Bumi Manusia" can contribute to this field by enriching our understanding of language use in social contexts. Thus, research on the analysis of the use of the word heinous in the film "Bumi Manusia" from a sociolinguistic perspective is important to do to enrich the understanding of language and society in the context of the film. The research subject is the Earth of Mankind film with an analysis of vile or swear words that has not been studied much. Meanwhile, research analysis on the use of heinous words in the film Bumi Manusia: a sociolinguistic study focuses on the use of vicious words in dialogue in the film Bumi Manusia and how the use of these abusive words is influenced by the social context, such as the speaker’s social status and the communication situation that occurs. This study uses qualitative research as revealed by Bogdan and Taylor, which is a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from the person or behavior observed by the researcher. To provide data, basic listening techniques are used with advanced free listening techniques and note taking techniques.

Abstract

The research in this article has purposes to describe and analyze the decrease of the students’ character values during the Covid-19 pandemic. This qualitative method study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The data in this study are the students’ answers from questionnaires that describe behavior during online learning. The source of data in this study was the students’ questionnaires. The data collection techniques were carried out by using observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, literature, and field notes. The steps of data analysis were carried out are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and the conclusion stage. The results of the study were grouped into 3 answers: positive, neutral, and negative. In QP1 (Discipline) the numbers show the negative value was 61.1%, the neutral value was 3.9%, and the positive value was 17.3%. In QP2 (Hard work), it shows the negative value was 57.6%, the neutral value was 23%, and the positive value was 22.7%. In QP3 (Honest), it shows the negative value was 70.7%, the neutral value was 10.9%, and the positive value was 19.6%. In QP4 (Responsibility), it shows the negative value was 75.1%, the neutral value was 13.1%, and the positive value was 11.7%. In QP5, it shows the negative value was 77.7%, the neutral value was 10.4%, and 11.7%. Then from the interview results, there were six decrease factors of character values, they are facilities, parents, motivation, mindset, interaction, and learning models as well as media. The conclusion shows that during the online learning of the covid-19 pandemic, the students' character decrease in a negative direction.

Abstract

The struggle of women in maintaining their existence is increasingly being voiced. One of the media that is often used is literari works. Given this, the aim of this research is to describe the existence of women amid male domination in Leila S. Chudori’s novel Laut Bercerita. This study uses a qualitative approach to examine the forms of existentialist feminism contained in the novel Laut Bercerita. This study took data in the form of text and utterances conveyed by each character. Data was collected using the 4M technique, namely reading, understanding, taking notes, and concluding. The result of this study is the discovery of Simone de Beauvoir,s feminist existence through the three female characters in the novel, namely Kasih Kinanti, Ratih Anjani, and Asmara Jati. Related to this, the results of the analysis of the existence of feminism based on Simone de Beaviour’s theory are relevant to be submitted as material in teaching Indonesian in class 11 high school, especially in material analysis of literary works.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh belum maksimalnya kemampuan mahasiswa angkatan 2022 dalam mengapresiasi dan mengkritik karya sastra Indonesia di Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia Unimed. Sebagaimana diketahui bahwa apresiasi dan kritik sastra merupakan salah satu kegiatan yang melibatkan kemampuan afektif, memahami nilai-nilai, sekaligus berupaya memetakan pola dan tata nilai yang diperoleh dari karya sastra yang diapresiasi ke dalam proporsi yang sesuai dengan konteks persoalannya. Oleh karena itu diperlukan sebuah desain pembelajaran yang dapat memfasilitasi sekaligus meningkatkan kemampuan apresiasi dan kritik sastra mahasiswa. Kemampuan tersebut akan ditingkatkan melalui pembelajaran sastra dengan perspektif multidimensional. Selanjutnya, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) mengetahui proses pengembangan, dan 2) menguji kelayakan model pembelajaran perspektif multidimensional dalam pembelajaran apresiasi dan kritik sastra. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode reseacrh and development (r&d) dengan model 4-D. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa proses penelitian disusun dengan berdasarkan tahapan pengembangan 4D terdiri atas 4 tahap utama yaitu: define (pendefinisian), design (perancangan), develop (pengembangan) dan disseminate (penyebaran). Kelayakan model pembelajaran sastra dengan perspektif multidimensional sudah memenuhi kriteria kelayakan “sangat layak” dan keterangan catataan “tidak perlu revisi” sesuai dengan hasil penilaian validasi ahli desain model pembelajaran sebesar 91,25%. Sedangkan untuk hasil uji coba apresiasi sastra mahasisa diperoleh nilai rata-rata 75,78% dengan kategori “baik” dalam standar penilaian kemampuan apresiasi sastra. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan model pembelajaran sastra dengan perspektif multidimensional valid dan layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan apresiasi dan kritik sastra mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Unimed Angkatan 2022.

Abstract

Kegiatan belajar mengajar, metode pengajaran, sistem penugasan dan evaluasi, bahkan prosedur penilaian kompetensi peserta didik sudah pasti berbeda dari sistem belajar sebelumnya. Tak jarang perbedaan tersebut membutuhkan penyesuaian dalam beberapa situasi. Contohnya adalah penyesuaian yang harus dilalui oleh siswa/siswi SMAN 1 Pematangsiantar dalam kegiatan pembelajaran daring. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat adanya proses gegar budaya yang dialami siswa/i selama pembelajaran daring. Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif yang terfokus pada implementasi pembuktian adanya fenomena gegar budaya dalam pembelajaran daring selama masa pandemi covid-19 di SMA Negeri 1 Pematangsiantar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setidaknya siswa/i SMAN 1 Pematangsiantar mengalami tingkat gegar budaya sebesar 68,3%. Memang tidak bisa apabila dikatakan perubahan yang terjadi sangat signifikan. Namun tetap saja hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa proses gegar budaya itu memang terjadi.

Abstract

This research aims to, (1) describe the process of developing procedural text teaching materials containing local wisdom using the Google Sites website, (2) describe the form of developing procedural text teaching materials containing local wisdom in Simalungun using the Google Sites website, and (3) describe the feasibility of teaching materials procedure text containing local Simalungun wisdom with the help of the Google Sites website. The development of procedural text teaching materials containing Simalungun local wisdom with the help of the Google Sites website uses the ADDIE model which is limited to only going through the analysis, design and development stages. The validation stage involved material expert lecturers, media expert lecturers and two Indonesian language teachers. The sample for this research was 31 class VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Siantar using the Purposive Sample technique. Data collection techniques were interviews and questionnaires. The research instrument was a validation questionnaire sheet for material experts and media experts using Likert scale calculations. Data analysis uses qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the research show that the product of procedural text teaching materials containing Simalungun local wisdom with the help of the Google Sites website received the "Very Good" criteria with an average of 88.85%, with results from material experts of 83.41% with the "Very Good" criteria. The results from media experts were 88% with the criteria "Very Good" and Indonesian language teachers 92% and 90%, so that the teaching materials were suitable for use as supporting teaching materials in the learning process.

Abstract

This research aims to explain language errors in the field of morphology in the essay texts of class IX students at SMP Negeri 45 Medan. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. The data source is in the form of essay texts from class IX students. The data collection technique in this research is documentation technique. Documentation techniques are used to collect data in the form of notes, transcripts, books, etc. The results of this research contained several errors, namely 10 errors in affixation, 8 errors in reduplication and 1 error in compounding.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the forms and functions of directive speech acts contained in the film "Nanti Kita Cerita tentang Hari Ini" directed by Angga Dwimas Sasongko, and to utilize the results of the research as teaching materials for persuasion texts for grade VIII junior high school (SMP). This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. The data in this study are sentences containing elements of directive speech acts in the film "Later We Tell About Today". The data collection technique was carried out by reading, observing, and note-taking techniques. The instrument used is documentation. The results of the study found several types of directive speech acts divided into the function of commanding 1 utterance, the function of ordering 1 utterance, the function of requiring 1 utterance, the function of crossing 1 utterance. the function of requesting 1 utterance, the function of offering 1 utterance. The third is the form of a directive speech act of invitation which is divided into the function of inviting 1 speech, the function of urging 1 utterance. The fourth is the form of directive speech act of advice which is divided into the function of advising 1 utterance, the function of suggesting 1 utterance, the function appeals to 1 speech, the function calls for 1 utterance, the function remembers 1 utterance. The fifth is the form of directive criticism which is divided into 1 speech reprimanding function, 1 utterance satirical function, 1 utterance scolding function. The sixth form of directive prohibition which is divided into prohibiting functions 1 speech, function prevents 1 speech. The findings of this study were then incorporated into a lesson plan for teaching persuasive writing to eighth graders in junior high school, this was done because the aim of persuasive writing or dialogue is to get the audience to act in the way the writer or speaker wants them to. The linguistic characteristics of persuasive texts are related to the form and function of directive speech acts, which aim to convince the speech partner or listener to act according to the intent intended by the speaker. The purpose of preparing teaching materials in the form of handouts is to simplify subjects to make them easier during the learning process, and to arrange materials in a practical and interesting way for students. Data from the analysis of the form and function of directive speech acts in the film "Next We Tell About Today" informs the preparation of persuasive text teaching materials, which also take Basic Competence (KD) of the applicable Indonesian language curriculum and Competency Achievement Indicators (GPA).
