Abstract

This research aims to develop and assess the feasibility of project-based Indonesian language textbooks in enhancing critical thinking among Medan State University students. Following the 4-D model of Research & Development, the process involves analysis, textbook design, material development, and dissemination. Needs analysis includes front-end and material design analyses to formulate learning objectives. The design stage entails compiling project-based learning materials, selecting media, and designing the book's specifications. In the development stage, textbooks are produced and validated by experts, with validation results exceeding 87% for both material and media. Dissemination involves distributing the textbooks to students to test practicality, resulting in a practicality test score of 87.74%. Validation and implementation scores indicate "very feasible" status without the need for revision. Consequently, the project-based Indonesian language course innovation is deemed "valid" and eligible for use as the primary teaching material at Medan State University, promising to enhance students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This research aims to develop research-based teaching materials to increase independent learning for students majoring in Indonesian language and literature. In this research, the development model used as a reference is using the 4D model. The 4D model is a learning device development model and an abbreviation for Define, Design, Development and Disseminate developed by Thiagarajan (1974). Based on the results of the feasibility test assessment that was carried out on research-based teaching materials, an assessment of the feasibility of the material was 88.98%, the feasibility of the media was 85.46%, and the student response test was 90.5%. The three of them got an average score of 88.31%. So, based on the percentage obtained by the three, the research-based teaching materials developed have met the requirements and received the status of appropriate teaching materials to be used as teaching materials for courses in writing scientific articles and publications in the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program. An assessment of the student article writing component was obtained with an overall average score of 81.17 in the "very good" assessment category. This proves the success of research-based teaching materials in supporting independent learners for students majoring in Indonesian language and literature.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Model Cooperative Script terhadap Keterampilan Berbicara Siswa dalam Pembelajaran Teks Negosiasi Kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen dengan desain penelitian two group posttest desain only design. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan Kec. Percut Sei tuan. Sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 kelas yakni kelas X-6 (yang diberi perlakuan Model Pembelajaran Cooperative Script) dan kelas X-7 (yang tidak diberi perlakuan atau menggunakan model Student Facilitator and Explaining). Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dalam penelitian ini adalah tes posttest melakukan negosiasi berdasarkan skenario teks negosiasi yang diberikan Guru. Berdasarkan uji normalitas lilliefors menggunakan model pembelajaran cooperative script dihasilkan Lhitung = 0,111 sedangkan dari daftar uji liliefors pada taraf nyata = 0,05 maka diperoleh harga Ltabel = 0,156. Sehingga diperoleh Lhitung< Ltabel atau 0,111 < 0,156 yang berarti data hasil posttest menggunakan model pembelajaran cooperative script berasal dari populasi yang berdistribusi normal. (2) Berdasarkan uji homogenitas diperoleh Fhitung < Ftabel (1,82 < 4,00) hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa sampel berasal dari varians yang homogen. (3) untuk pengujian hipotesis diperoleh thitung= 3,757 dan ttabel=1,998. Kriteria pengujian adalah terima H0 jika thitung< ttabel. Dalam penelitian ini dipeoleh thitung > ttabel atau 3,757> 1,998, dengan demikian Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima, berarti ada pengaruh yang posistif dan signifikan antara model pembelajaran cooperative script terhadap keterampilan berbicara siswa dalam Pembelajaran Teks Negosiasi Kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan.

Abstract

Dalam film tentunya terdapat dialog yang dilakukan antar tokoh di film tersebut. Dialog antar tokoh sering mengundang rasa ingin tahu penonton. Dengan kajian pragmatik tentunya rasa ingin tahu penonton dapat terjawab. Dalam komunikasi antar manusia terkadang yang dikatakan penutur berbeda dengan yang dimaksudkan penutur. Selain harus memperhatikan konteks, penutur pun harus memiliki kesantunan dalam berbahasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan bentuk prinsip kesantunan yang terdapat dalam film Ali dan Ratu-ratu Queens karya Lucky Kuswandi dan mendeskripsikan implikasi prinsip kesantunan berbahasa yang terdapa dalam film terhadapat pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di SMA. Metode penelitian dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan teknik simak bebas libat cakap (SBLC) dan teknik catat sebagai teknik lanjutan. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu ditemukan 37 data maksim, meliputi: 8 maksim kebijaksanaan, 7 maksim kedermawanan, 8 maksim penghargaan, 2 maksim kesederhanaan, 7 maksim permufakatan, dan 5 maksim kesimpatian. Dari hasil analisis fungsi maksim, dapat disimpulkan bahwa setiap maksim yang terdapat pada film Ali dan Ratu-Ratu Queens Karya Lucky Kuswandi berfungsi menghindari konflik, memastikan interaksi kooperatif, mengatur kesan, membangun kekuatan, memastikan kepatuhan, menunjukkan rasa hormat, dan bersikap baik.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the example non-example learning model assisted by infographic media on the persuasive text writing skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 6 Percut Sei Tuan. This research employs a quasi-experimental method with a two-group post-test only control design. The data collection technique used in this study is a test in the form of a post-test assignment for writing persuasive texts. To analyze the persuasive text writing skills, the data were analyzed by conducting two prerequisite tests: 1) Normality Test; 2) Homogeneity Test. After conducting the normality and homogeneity tests, the data were analyzed using hypothesis testing. The research results indicate that 1) The persuasive text writing skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 6 Percut Sei Tuan using the conventional learning model are categorized as fair, with an average score of 63.38; 2) The persuasive text writing skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 6 Percut Sei Tuan using the Example Non-Example learning model assisted by infographic media are categorized as good, with an average score of 84.03. These findings indicate that the Example Non-Example learning model assisted by infographic media is more effective in improving persuasive text writing skills. Based on the t-test, with a significance level of α = 0.05 and n = 31, the obtained t-table value is 2.04 and the calculated t-value is 6.162. Since the calculated t-value is greater than the t-table value (6.162 > 2.04), the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This proves that the Example Non-Example learning model assisted by infographic media has a significant effect on the persuasive text writing skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 6 Percut Sei Tuan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the educational values in the novel entitled "Tembang Lara" by Pipiet Senja. Researchers hope that this research can be a source of teaching materials in learning moral values, namely love of God and all His creation, independence and responsibility, honesty / trust, respect and courtesy, benefactor, please help, and mutual assistance / cooperation, confident and hardworking, leadership and justice, humility, and tolerance, peace, and unity So that students can apply it to everyday life. The method used in this study is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The main source of data from this research is the content of the novel entitled "Tembang Lara" by Pipiet Senja. Data processing techniques use analytical descriptives, namely analyzing the data under study and then presenting the data that has been obtained by steps to collect data sources, read the novel "Tembang Lara" carefully, analyze the moral values in the novel, describe the moral values in the novel, and make conclusions about the moral values in the novel. In the novel "Tembang Lara" by Pipiet Senja found seven moral values, namely: 1) Love of God and all His creation, 2) Independence and Responsibility, 3) Honesty / trust, 4) Respect and Courtesy, 5) Help, and Mutual Cooperation / Cooperation, 6) Confident and Hardworking, 7) Leadership and Justice.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemerolehan bahasa pada anak usia tiga tahun enam bulan melalui kajian Mean Length of Utterance (MLU). MLU adalah ukuran rata-rata panjang ujaran yang digunakan untuk menilai perkembangan bahasa anak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pengamatan langsung dan pencatatan ujaran anak dalam situasi natural. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis untuk menghitung MLU dan mengidentifikasi karakteristik utama dari pemerolehan bahasa anak pada usia tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anak pada usia tiga tahun enam bulan memiliki MLU yang sesuai dengan tahap perkembangan bahasa normal untuk usianya. Anak menunjukkan kemampuan dalam membentuk kalimat sederhana, menggunakan morfem gramatikal dasar, dan memiliki kosakata yang cukup luas. Faktor-faktor seperti interaksi dengan lingkungan sekitar, kehadiran orang dewasa yang berkomunikasi dengan anak, dan eksposur terhadap bahasa yang bervariasi turut berperan dalam pemerolehan bahasa anak. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam memahami dinamika pemerolehan bahasa pada anak usia dini dan pentingnya lingkungan komunikatif yang mendukung perkembangan bahasa anak. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai acuan bagi orang tua, pendidik, dan peneliti dalam mendukung perkembangan bahasa anak secara optimal.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze parts of the novel "Melodylan". The analysis of this novel uses a pragmatic approach, trying to appreciate literary works based on their function to provide and convey certain goals to the reader. The aim of this research is to describe the novel Melodylan by Asriaci using a pragmatic approach. This research method is qualitative descriptive research. This research is descriptive literature research. Data collection techniques are only carried out using reading and note-taking techniques. Meanwhile, the results of this research are that readers can gain values ​​about the story of romance and friendship in high school which depicts the characters in the novel Melodylan. Apart from that, readers can also learn lessons about when we should give in and lower our ego to avoid problems. Analysis This novel uses a pragmatic approach, trying to appreciate literary works based on their function to provide and convey certain goals to readers.

Abstract

The use of many figurative words makes it difficult for readers to understand the meaning contained in the beautiful stanzas of poetry. The purpose of the research is to analyze semantically with the object of study of a poem entitled "Pada Satu Hari Nanti" written by Sapardi Djoko Damono. This research is studied through semantic analysis to examine the meaning that focuses on analyzing lexical meaning, grammatical meaning, referential meaning, and connotative / figurative meaning. In accordance with the above objectives, the type of research is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection is done using documentation techniques, library techniques, and note-taking techniques. The results of the analysis show that in each stanza of the poem there is a complexity of lexical, referential, grammatical, and connotative/figurative meanings that provide depth and richness of meaning in poetry as well as broader knowledge of the use of language in literary works and how meaning can be interpreted through semantic analysis. Abstract

Language is used as a means of communication between users.  Through language, communication between users or speakers can occur well if there is the same understanding between speakers. When someone speaks, there is an interlocutor who will respond to his words. The formulation of the problem that will be discussed is the analysis of speech act events.  This research aims to describe every sentence containing locutionary, illocutionary and perlocutionary events of the characters in the "3600 second film". This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method, namely describing each dialogue delivered by a character. The type of research is literature. The data source in this research is a 3600 second film. Data collection techniques in this research are listening techniques and note-taking techniques. The film depicts how speech act events are conveyed, so that locutionary events are informative, illocutionary events that will have an impact on the listener such as making an offer to the interlocutor and perlocutionary events that are persuasive to experience physical changes that occur in the interlocutor. The results of this research include locutionary, illocutionary and perlocutionary speech acts that are clearly stated.
