Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to determine the increase cognitif result in physics learning of the first grade students through conceptual understanding procedures (CUPs) learning model. This research was conducted from November to December 2015 in SMPN 4 Pekanbaru with research subject is class VII10 consist of 36 students as a control group with conventional learning and class VII8 consist of 34 students as a experimental group with conceptual understanding procedures (CUPs) learning model. This research is pre-experimental with Intact Group Comparison Design. Instrument of collecting data in this research is a cognitive achievement test consisting of 15 multiple choice items. The data that collected was analyzed through descriptive and inferensial analyze. The result of descriptive analysis obtained that average absorption and effectiveness of learning in the experimental class is 84% and 73% of control class with high category and effective. The results of inferential analysis through the sign test obtained a value sig.2 tailed < 0,05 (0,00<0,05) which means Ha is accept. It show there is a significant difference between CUPs learning with conventional learning of cognitif result students of the subject matter expansion. Based on data analysis,it can be concluded that implementation of conceptual understanding procedures was able to improve the cognitive result in physics learning of the first grade students of SMPN 4 pekanbaru.Key Words: Cognitive result, Conceptual understanding procedures (CUPs) , Descriptive Analysis and Analysis Inferential

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to examine the practicalities of product resulting from the research design and validation aircraft simple experiment devices base on equipment of traditional culture that has been done before. Methodology of the research used is reseacrh and development.This research do in SMP Negeri 18 Pekanbaru with the subject of study aircraft simple experiment devices base on equipment of traditional culture, consist of 3 people science teacher and 36 students junior high school. Practicality data a device on an aircraft simple students obtained through an instrument chief practicalities device according to teachers and students. Analysis of the data in this study is descriptive analysis to categorize the average score of practicalities of aircraft simple experiment devices base on equipment of traditional culture. Based on analysis of the research data obtained the average score to a category very good for all the aspects regarded as on the device experiment the tools and students worksheets of rice pounder, wringer coconut milk, repellent birds, inclide plane and pulley . The conclusion of this research aicraft simple experiment devices base on traditional culture practice devices for use as a medium of learning physics in senior junior school.Key word : Practicality, aircraft simple experiment devices base on equipment oftraditional culture.

Abstract

Abstract : This study aimed to determine student attitude of science on learning grade VIII SMP Negeri 2 Negeri Pasir Penyu. The kinds of this study was a survey. The population in this study was student of SMP Negeri 2 Pasir Penyu and sample in this study was students grade VIII consisted of four classes used purposive sampling. The data was collected by nontest with questionnaire . The data was analyzed by using descriptive statistic techniques. Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to determine the effectiveness of physics learning by open-ended approach in lesson dynamic electric to students’ physics concept comprehension in class X5 IPA SMAN 10 Pekanbaru. The subjects were students of class X5 IPA and class X3 IPA. Class X5 IPA as eksperiment’s class totalling 40 students, consisting of 12 male students and 28 female students. While class X3 IPA as control’s class totalling 39 students, consisting of 16 male students and 23 female students. The instrument of data collection in this study is the concept comprehension test consists of 7 essay questions. Analysis of the data in this study are a descriptive analysis to see an over view of the results of the students' physics concept comprehension by using the criteria of absorption and the effectiveness and it is a inferential analysis to know there is no difference between physics learning by open-ended approach with physics learning by conventional to students’ physics concept comprehension. The analysis of the data showed: absorption eksperiment’s class average is 80,71% with a good category, otherwise learning effectiveness declared in effective. While absorption control’s class average is 75,46% with a good category, otherwise learning effectiveness declared in effective and there is difference between physics learning by open-ended approach with physics learning by conventional to students’ physics concept comprehension. Nevertheless, it can be concluded that physics learning by open-ended approach is could be used in learning process class X5 IPA SMAN 10 Pekanbaru.Key Words: open-ended approach, concept comprehension, dynamic electric

Abstract

Abstract : The aim of this research was to produce a valid constructivist physics learning module on dynamic and equilibrium of rigid body material as a source of physics learning media for senior high school students. The research used the Research and Development method following the ADDIE model. In this research, the module was developed over three steps out of five steps such as analysis, design, and development. The research data was obtained from the results of validation by five experts as validators. The validation module instrument was adopted by Badan Standar Nasional Pendidikan (BSNP) which consists of three feasibility aspect’s consist the content, the language, the graphic and present feasibility aspect’s. Validation was done through two phases which is the first and second phase. The content feasibility aspect got the average validity of 0.9 (valid with very good category), the language feasibility aspect was 0.92 (valid with very good category), and the graphic and present feasibility aspect’s was 0.90 (valid with very good category). In general, the indicator of each feasibility aspects has been valid and suitable with the development objectives. Based on the results of the validation, it can be concluded that the constructivist physics learning module on dynamic and equilibrium of rigid body material has been valid based on the content, the language, the graphic and present feasibility aspects and feasible as a source of physics learning media on dynamic and equilibrium of rigid body material.Keywords : constructivist module, dynamic and equilibrium of rigid body, physics learning of senior high school

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep fisika siswa pada indikator interpretasi dengan menerapkan pembelajaran kontekstual di kelas XI SMAN 1 Gaung Anak Serka. Adapun manfaat yang diharapkan dari penelitian ini adalah memberikan alternatif pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep fisika siswa dan memaksimalkan kinerja guru dalam upaya mencapai tujuan pendidikan.Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Oktober 2014 sampai dengan Februari 2015.Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design.Subjek penelitian ini adalah dua kelas XI IA di SMAN 1 Gaung Anak Serka yaitu kelas XI IA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol dengan jumlah siswa 23 orang dan kelas XI IA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan jumlah siswa 24 orang. Dari data yang diperoleh terdapat perbedaan daya serap dan skor Gain antara kelas kontrol dan eksperimen. Rata-rata daya serap kelas eksperimen adalah 73,26% termasuk dalam kategori sedang, sedangkan rata-rata daya serap pada kelas kontrol adalah 50,54% termasuk dalam kategori sangat rendah. Untuk rata-rata skor Gain kelas eksperimen adalah 0,46 termasuk dalam kategori sedang, sedangkan rata-rata skor Gain kelas kontrol adalah 0,13 termasuk dalam kategori rendah. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran kontekstual memberikan peningkatan pemahaman konsep fisika siswa pada indikator interpretasi kelas XI SMAN 1 Gaung Anak Serka. Abstract

Abstract :This research aims to know the influence of students' misconceptions towards the physics learning outcomes on the force concept and its applications in SMP I Kuok Kabupaten Kampar. This research uses a quantitative approach with survey method. The subject of reasearch was 82 students selected randomly as samples from overall population of class VIII students. The instruments used in this research is the diagnostic test to indicate the level of students’ misconceptions. Besides researcher also done documentation of physics learning outcomes on the concept of the force and its application.The analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. From descriptive analysis informed that students’ misconceptions reached very high level while physics learning outcomes was at low level. Inferential analysis consist of correlation and regression analysis. Correlation analysis of both variables produced a coefficient correlation-0,260. It showed that correlation between students’ misconceptions and physics learning outcomes was low and not unidirectional. Regression analysis showed the contribution of students’ misconceptions toward physics learning outcomes by -0.480. Students’ misconceptions influence 6,8% of physics learning outcomes significantly. This result informed that students’ misconceptions influence physics learning outcomes on the force concept and its applications in SMP I Kuok Kabupaten Kampar negatively and significantly.Keyword : Students’ misconceptions, Physics Learning Outcomes, Force Concept and its Applications

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to analyze the understanding of the temperature and heat materials concept using TTCI instruments (Thermal and Transport Concept Inventory) based on graphical representation. The method in this study was a survey technique was done through writtenl questions of understanding concept test. The population was all students of class X SMA Negeri 1 GAS and sampled using simple random sampling with the number of samples of 92 students. Data was collected with TTCI instrument equipped with CRI. Data were analyzed descriptively to determine the level of understanding of students' concept of temperature and heat matter. The result shows that the average score of the percentage of the most dominant learners are in the category unknow concept with the percentage of 45.28%, while the percentage of learners who understand the concept is 13.04%, misconception is 27.09%, And guess the answer is 14.56%. This shows that the students' understanding of the temperature and heat materials based on graphic representations is still that is revealed from the understanding of learners is still below 30%.Keyword: conceptual understanding, misconceptions, temperature and heat.

Abstract

Abstract: The research aims to know the effectiveness of th of a simple machine experiment equipment based traditional culture as a medium of learning to improve students’ motivation in science learning of SMP. This research was done with the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Desaign. The subjects were students of class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah Kuok applying simple machine experiment equipment based traditional culture as a medium of learning. The instruments used in data collection nomina was a questionnaire motivation ARCS consisting of indicator Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satisfaction. Data were analyzed students’ motivation to learn physics through descriptive analysis. The results of data analysis, for attention indicator values obtained for the gain of 0.46 with intermediate categories. for relavance indicator values obtained for the gain of 0.37 with intermediate categories. for convidence indicator values obtained for the gain of 0.51 with intermediate categories. for satisfaction indicator values obtained for the gain of 0.40 with intermediate categories. And for to all syudents obtained for the gain of 0.43 with intermediate categories. From the result of data analysis can be concluded thet learning use of a simple machine experiment equipment based traditional culture as a medium of learning to increase students’ motivation is said the effectiveness of the intermediate category.Keywords: Effectiveness, Students’ Motivation, medium of learning, Traditional culture

Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to describe and find out the difference of problem solving ability of physics students between problem based learning group with conventional learning group. This type of research is a quasi-experimental, with intact group comparison design. The sample of this research is 23 students VIIIB class that is applying of problem based learning and 23 students VIIIC class that is with conventional learning. The data in this research is a score of ability of problem solving after applying of problem based learning. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical. From inferential statistical we found that, there were a difference ability of problem solving of pysics student’s between problem based learning group with conventional learning group. The result of this research also showed that the ability of problem solving in implementation of problem based learning group in middle category with a score of 70,65, meanwhile in conventional learning group the ability of problem solving in low category with a score 60,00. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of problem based laerning improved the ability of physics problem solving in light topic of VIII MTs Diniyah Putri Pekanbaru students.Key Words: problem based learning, ability of problem solving, light.
