Abstract

Naringin is a secondary metabolite compound of the flavonoid group which is generally found in plants that are consumed and traditionally used as medicine. The aim of this study was to examine the potential of naringin as a candidate for hepatitis B virus replication inhibitor using an in-silico approach. This research uses exploratory descriptive method with molecular docking analysis was carried out using the blind docking technique. The 3D structures of naringin and reference ligands were collected from the PubChem database, and the 3D structures of target proteins were collected from the PDB database. The target protein used is the hepatitis B virus capsid protein with PDB ID: 5GMZ. Docking analysis was performed using AutoDock Vina which is integrated into PyRx. Docking results were visualized using the PyMol software and Biovia Discovery Studio 2019. The results of the analysis showed that the binding affinity of all simulation models between naringin and the HBV capsid protein ranged from -7.1 to -7.9 kcal/mol. The binding site formed between naringin and the receptor corresponds to the reference ligand, involving the same 12 amino acid residues, namely PHE 23, PRO 25, LEU 30, THR 33, TRP 102, ILE 105, SER 106, PHE 110, TYR 118, ILE 139, LEU 140, and SER 141. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the naringin compound has the same bioactivity as the reference ligand in inhibiting viral replication, so that naringin has the potential as a candidate for hepatitis B virus replication inhibitor

Abstract

Assistance in processing local food based on blood cockle (Anadara granosa) can support the anemia prevention program for young women towards a stunting-free Gorontalo. The number of participants included was 20, it's made up of two craft teachers and two school managers. The participants came from SMAN 1 Tilango, SMAN 1 Batudaa Pantai, SMAN 1 Biluhu, SMAN 1 Dungaliyo, and SMAN 1 Pulubala. It involves 5 students from Gorontalo State University who participated in the MBKM research program. The purpose of this activity is for teachers and school canteen operators to gain knowledge about the processing of blood cockle meatballs and use them as potential for the development of local food products to prevent anemia in young women. The importance of innovation in local food processing, such as introducing new technology and developing healthier and more sustainable products. Activities are carried out using five methods, namely lecture, question-and-answer, discussion, practice, and evaluation methods. The result of this service activity was that the participants received the training material and received a positive response. Most participants stated that this activity helped them to innovate and develop their businesses in terms of diversifying local food processing.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi media pembelajaran biologi yang digunakan oleh guru, menganalisis permasalahan penerapannya, dan mengkaji respon siswa SMA Negeri 1 Tapa terhadap materi pewarisan sifat. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif berupa studi kasus, dilakukan pada Mei-Juni 2022 dengan subjek guru biologi dan siswa SMA Negeri 1 Tapa. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara guru, kuesioner siswa, dan observasi pembelajaran. Analisis data meliputi pengumpulan, reduksi, dan penyajian data yang diinterpretasikan secara micro dan macro analysis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru biologi menggunakan media konvensional seperti papan genetika. Terdapat kelemahan pada empat aspek: kesesuaian media dengan tujuan pembelajaran, ketepatan penggunaan, kepraktisan waktu, dan kebutuhan teknis. Namun, guru memiliki kekuatan dalam keterampilan menggunakan media dan pengelompokan sasaran. Respon siswa menunjukkan bahwa 63.5% kesulitan memahami materi pewarisan sifat, 90% membutuhkan media pembelajaran lain, dan 100% berharap pengembangan media konvensional terintegrasi teknologi. Oleh karena itu, peningkatan keterampilan guru dalam menggunakan media dan pengembangan media pembelajaran konvensional terintegrasi teknologi diperlukan untuk menunjang pembelajaran pewarisan sifat.

Abstract

Pemphis acidula is a wild plant in rocky or sandy coastal areas and mangrove ecosystems. Different geographic characteristics may affect plant adaptability and have an impact on the emergence of various genotypes. This study was performed to reveal the phenetic relationship and genetic variation of P. acidula in 3 different areas in Tomini Bay, Gorontalo Province, Indonesia. We took 3 samples from each location and analysed them using 14 morphological characters and molecular approaches based on ISSR markers and ITS gene. The results showed that P. acidula on Olele had bigger sizes in some morphological features compared to the plants in other study areas. The phenetic analysis showed that P. acidula at Biluhu and Dulanga were more closely related, although P. acidula at the 3 locations had 100% similarity. Genetic variation analysis showed the highest genetic similarity based on ISSR markers was found in Dulanga and Biluhu samples (76.8%). Phylogenetic based on ITS gene revealed that Olele samples were in the same clade with P. acidula accession from GenBank (genetic distance 0-0.19%), while Biluhu samples were a sister group (genetic distance 24.97-25.03%) even though their percentage identity corresponds to P. acidula (81.34%). Plant adaptation to different habitat conditions may affect the genetic diversity of P. acidula.

Abstract

Argumentation skills are important to train in learning, so that students have logical reasoning, a clear and rational view of the things being studied. This research aims to examine the implementation of the lesson study-based problem based learning (PBL) model in improving students' argumentation skills. The method used in this research is classroom action research with a quantitative descriptive approach carried out in two cycles. Data was collected using pretest-posttest instruments, argumentation skills observation sheets (Toulmin's argumentation pattern), and lesson study-based PBL syntax implementation observation sheets. The results showed that there was an increase in the implementation of PBL syntax from cycle I (76.9%) to cycle II (92.3%). Likewise, there was a significant increase in students' argumentation skills in each cycle. In the first cycle, there was an increase in the distribution of posttest scores where the percentage of students began to reach levels 3 and 4, while in the second cycle, there was a further increase where the majority of students managed to reach levels 3 and 4 in argumentation skills. The conclusion of this research is that the implementation of lesson study-based PBL can effectively improve students' argumentation skills. It is recommended that further research conduct an in-depth study of the content in each component of argumentation so that a more holistic understanding of students' argumentation skills is obtained.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the validity and practicality of developing digital comics regarding human excretory systems for class XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa. This research is classified as development research using the 4D model, with trials on 20 students in class XI – A SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa. The results of the research show that: (1) The validity test of digital comic media based on percentages obtained a score of 96.35% (Very valid), and the material validity test based on percentages obtained a score of 97.91% (Very valid), (2) The practicality test consisted of from the implementation of learning, student responses and teacher responses. The learning implementation test at the first meeting to the second meeting based on percentage obtained a score of 87.5 (Very good), the student response test based on percentage obtained a score of 86.50 (Very good), and the teacher response test based on percentage obtained a score of 96.87% ( Practical).

Abstract

This study is an experimental study aimed at determining the use of crossword puzzle media in enhancing student learning outcomes in the learning material of the human respiratory system for class XI IPA 3 students at SMA Negeri 4 Kota Gorontalo. This study employed a descriptive statistical quantitative method using a one-group design pre-test and post-test. The population consisted of class XI IPA 3 students at SMA Negeri 4 Kota Gorontalo, totaling 30 students. Data collection techniques included interview and tests. The findings are as follows: based on the data analysis, it is evident thet there is an enhancement in student learning outcomes for class XI IPA 3 students at SMA Negeri 4 Kota Gorontalo. Furtheremore, based on the descriptive study, it indicates that the average student learning outcomes before the use of crossword puzzles media. Moreover, based on statistical analysis of student learning outcomes, it obtains a t-count value of 0,027 with a significant level of 0,05, hence 0,027 > 0,05. This shows that there is a significant difference between student learning aoutcomes before and after the use of crossword puzzle media in class XI IPA 3 at SMA Negeri 4 Kota Gorontalo.

Abstract

The lack of experience in Lesson Study makes professionalism, especially in pedagogical competence, less improved. The lack of implementation of LS makes collaboration between teachers in determining innovative learning and reflection to improve the quality of the learning process becomes less, so that it has an impact on student activities. The purposes of this study are: (1) to find out student learning activities through the application of Lesson Study and (2) to train students to transform their knowledge as prospective teaching staff. The data taken from this study are (1) data on the implementation of LS activities with the application of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model, (2) data on the implementation of LS activities with the application of the STAD type cooperative learning model combined with Snowball Throwing, (3) data on student learning activities and (4) data on the results of reflection on the application of Lesson Study. The results of the study show that student activities can be well reflected in the implementation of Lesson Study and the implementation of LS in the learning process can also provide understanding to prospective educators on pedagogic competence.

Abstract

Pembiasaan dan pembudayaan karakter peduli lingkungan bagi pesreta didik di melalui pengintegrasian dengan mata Pelajaran IPA di sekolah, Pembelajaran IPA menjadikan peserta didik mampu belajar di lingkungan alam sekitar sekolah dan mengenal alam sekitar. Guru juga dapat mengintegrasikan pembelajaran IPA dengan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal seperti budaya huyula yang ada di provinsi Gorontalo. Budaya Huyula sangat penting bagi dunia pendidikan karena dampak bagi peserta didik sangat positif diantaranya saling tolong-menolong dan kerja sama yang baik. Kegiatan ini memberikan pengetahuan kepada peserta didik untuk menumbuhkan karakter peduli terhadap lingkungan. Karakter peduli lingkungan tumbuh dalam diri peserta didik dengan menginternalisasikan nilai-nilai peduli lingkungan di dalam pembelajaran IPA serta terintegrasi dengan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal setempat. Melalui kegiatan ini, peserta didik menjadi bertambah pengetahuannya terkait cara menjaga lingkungan dan lebih cinta dan peduli terhadap lingkungan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan validitas, kepaktisan dan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik melalui modul pembelajaran berbasis Augmented Reality pada materi sel kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Tibawa. Jenis penelitian pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D) menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE yang dilaksanakan hingga tahap development yaitu uji coba terbatas. Hasil penelitian menunjukan keval_idan modul pembelajaran Augmented Reality pada meteri sel untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik rata-rata persentase 94% ahli materi dan 75% ahli media dengan kriteria valid. Kepraktisan modul pembelajaran berdasarkan respon guru rata-rata memperoleh nilai 97%, resepon peserta didik 91% dan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran untuk keseluruhan pertemuan berada pada kategori terlaksana keseluruhan yang berarti praktis. Hasil prestest kemampuan berpikir krtis peserta didik memperoleh nilai 50,76 dan postets memperoleh nilai 75% menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, modul ini dinyatakan valid, praktis dan layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.
