Abstract

Education or education is the provision of one's knowledge and abilities through learning, so that a person or group of people who receive education can do as expected by educators, from those who do not know to know and from those who are unable to cope with their own health to become independent. This study aims to determine the effect of online education on increasing knowledge about maintaining dental and oral hygiene. The type of research used is a quasi-experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test design. Conducted at SMPN 1 Darul Imarah, data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. The population in this study amounted to 30 students. The sample used is 30 students using total sampling. The results showed an increase in the mean value of students' knowledge after intervention with online education was 17.5 from pretest 67.83 to 85.33 at posttest, data processing used statistical tests, Paired Sample T-Test p = 0.000 (p = < 0.05). The conclusion is that there is an effect of online education on increasing knowledge about maintaining dental and oral hygiene. Suggestions are expected for teachers and dental health workers to cooperate in providing guidance and counseling about dental and oral hygien.

Abstract

Corona Virus or Coronavirus is a group of viruses that can cause disease in animals or humans. Various efforts must be carried out to realize optimal public health status, one of which is the implementation of health services. This study aims to get an overview of the level of anxiety of the people who seek treatment at the dental and oral clinic during the Covid-19 period at the Meuraxa General Hospital. The sample in this study was 50 people, and the community visited the dental clinic with the total sampling method. Place in the study at the Meuraxa General Hospital Banda Aceh City in 2022. The method in this study used analytical research with a cross-sectional design. The aim is to determine the effect of patient anxiety levels on dental clinic services during the COVID-19 pandemic at Meuraxa Hospital, Banda Aceh City. The results of this study indicate that women tend to experience greater anxiety than men. Respondents experienced anxiety about dental poly services during the COVID-19 pandemic in the severe category in as many as 23 people (46%), the moderate anxiety level category in as many as 19 people (38%), and only 8 people with mild anxiety level (16%). The majority of the samples stated that the dental poly service was good as many as 42 people (84%), while the sample that stated the dental poly service was lacking was only 8 people (16%). In conclusion, the level of patient anxiety about visits to dental and oral health services increased during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Animated cartoons are media that contain a collection of images that are processed in such a way as to move and are equipped with audio so that they are memorable and store learning messages. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of counseling using animated cartoon media on dental and oral health knowledge. Based on the results of the initial data examination conducted on 15 students, the results obtained were 2 students with good knowledge, 2 students with moderate knowledge, and 11 students with less knowledge. This research method uses a Quasi Experiment One Group Pre test-Post test design. The population in this study were all fifth-grade students of SDN 2 Lamcot Aceh Besar totaling 30 respondents. The sampling technique used was the Total Sampling technique. This research was conducted on 12-18 May 2022. Data collection using a questionnaire. This study used the SPSS Paired Sample T-test and analyzed univariately and bivariate. Based on the results of the study, there were differences in the mean before and after the intervention with a difference in the mean value of 40.1. The results of statistical tests obtained a significance value of p = 0.000 (p = <0.05). The results of this analysis indicate that there is a significant difference between before and after counseling using animated cartoon media. It can be concluded that in this study there was an effect of counseling using animated cartoon media on dental and oral health knowledge of fifth-grade students at SDN 2 Lamcot Aceh Besar. It is recommended to teachers and health workers at the local health center use animated cartoon media in increasing students' dental and oral health knowledge.

Abstract

Background: The high average prevalence of malnutrition and infectious diseases is exacerbated by issues related to inequality and the low quality of public health services. Many people may feel afraid to have their teeth checked during the Covid-19 pandemic. Research Title: Relationship between Perception of Risk of Infecting with Covid and Motivation for Dental Treatment in the New Normal Era at Tangse Health Center. The purpose of the study: is to find out whether there is a relationship between the perceived risk of contracting Covid-19 with the motivation to seek dental treatment in the new normal era at the Tangse Health Center. Research method: The research method used is chie square. Research sample: The dental clinic visitors from January to July 2022 were 98 people. Research results: Based on the results of the Chi-Square test using the SPSS program, it was obtained that P-value = 0.001, (<0.05) Smaller than a = 0.05, which means that there is a significant relationship between the perception of contracting COVID with the motivation to seek dentistry in Indonesia. the new normal era at Tangse Health Center. Conclusion: There are 63 people (64.3%) who have a low-risk perception of covid-19 and 68 people (69.4%) have low motivation to go to a dental clinic and based on the chie square test there is a significant relationship between the perception of the risk of contracting covid with the motivation for dental treatment, it means that students who are afraid of contracting COVID-19 have low motivation to seek dental treatment.

Abstract

Oral hygiene is one of the actions needed to keep the mouth from infection, clean and freshen the mouth. Awareness of maintaining dental and oral hygiene is very necessary as an effort to prevent dental and oral health problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between behavior and oral hygiene in fifth grade students at SDN Alue, Aceh Besar District. The research used is an analytical method with a cross sectional study design approach. The population in this study were all fifth graders at SDN Alue, totaling 40 respondents. The analysis carried out is univariate and bivariate analysis using chi-square statistical test. The results showed that from 40 respondents, it was found that knowledge of dental and oral health maintenance in the poor category was 21 respondents (52.5%), attitudes in the poor category were 23 respondents (57.5%), actions in the poor category were 25 respondents (62.5%). Dental and oral health maintenance behavior as knowledge (P=0.001), attitude (P=0.001) and action (P=0.002). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between dental and oral health maintenance behavior with oral hygiene in fifth grade students at SDN Alue, Aceh Besar District. It is recommended for students to improve their behavior in maintaining their own oral and dental health.

Abstract

Socioeconomic status is one of the factors that affect the health status of the community or family. The economic level of a family will have a major influence on the sustainability of family members, both from the level of education and health. High socio-economic groups of people can access health services and take care of their family's health properly, on the contrary, people who are in low socio-economic groups tend to give priority to fulfilling their needs. daily needs rather than thinking about maintaining health and getting good health services. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between economic status and motivation for dental treatment in the New Normal Era in Sukarami Village, RT.03 Method: This research is an analytical survey research with a cross-sectional approach using a simple random sampling technique, carried out in February March 2022, The community of RT 03 in Sukarami sub-district as many as 100 people, the data were analyzed using the chi-square test. Results: In the univariate test, 41 respondents (41.0%) had a high economic status, a little compared to 59 (59.0%) respondents who had a low economic status. Meanwhile, 48 people had high motivation for dental treatment (48). %) is less than respondents who have low motivation as many as 52 people (52.09%). In the statistical test, the P-value = 0.000 <0.05 means that there is a significant relationship between economic status and motivation for dental treatment. dental treatment in the new normal era
