Abstract

The purposes of this research are to analyze rice farmer’s perception in use of  giving Combine harvester in Gadingrejo subdistrct, Pringsewu Regency. This research was conducted in Gadingrejo subdistrict, Pringsewu regency with 88 respondents of rice farmer’s group members were giving Combine harvester . Data were collected using a suvey method with descriptive analysis. The results showed that active rice farmer’s perception group members farmer’s of relative advatage, compatibility, complexity, triabilitiy, dan obsevabiliti in use of  giving Combine harvester included in the positif calssification. Perceptions rice farmer’s group members are not active of relative advantage inculude in quite well and perceptions of compatibility, complexity, triabilitiy, dan obsevabiliti in use of  giving Combine harvester included in the negative calssification.

Abstract

Improving the performance of agricultural extension workers will determine the future of agricultural development which is basically to increase the income of the agricultural sector. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of agricultural extension in Jati Agung Subdistrict, South Lampung Regency, analyze the performance of agricultural extension workers, determine the level of participation of farmers in agricultural extension, determine the level of farmer satisfaction with the performance of agricultural extension workers. The study was conducted in the Village Building District of Jati Agung, South Lampung Regency. The data used in this study are primary data. The results showed that the agricultural instructor in Desa Fajar Baru had performed well, the delivery of material by the instructor was carried out well so that the farmer easily understood all the material easily, the farmer was satisfied with the extension agent's visit because the extension worker was always actively visiting farmers every month. The effectiveness level of counseling in Fajar Baru Village, Jati Agung Subdistrict is in the criteria of Not Effective. The instructor's performance is assessed from the instructor's aspect as a facilitator and the counseling material is considered to be quite good and satisfactory. Agung is still low, and the performance of agricultural counseling in Fajar Baru Village, Jati Agung Sub-district is satisfactory with a satisfaction range of 1.91 to 2.25.

Abstract

ABSTRACT                Farmer groups are a forum for farmers to make it easier for farmers to carry out their farming, if the farmer group runs effectively in accordance with the goals of the group. Effective farmer groups cannot be separated from the role of group leaders. The head of the farmer group has an important role in supporting the group to achieve its group goals. Based on the background described, then the purpose of this research are to know: the effectiveness of paddy farmer group; the leadership level of farmer group; and the relationship between leadership of farmer group leader with the effectiveness of farmer group in Sukoharjo Sub District of Pringsewu Regency. This research was conducted in Sukoharjo Sub District Pringsewu Regency, with 73 respondents of paddy farmer.  Data was collected by using survey method with descriptive analysis and using statistical non parametric test rank spearman correlation to test hypothesis.  The results showed that paddy farmer group in Sukoharjo Sub District had a high level of effectiveness, had a medium level of leadership of farmer group leader; and leadership of farmer group had significant relationship with farmer group effectiveness.   Keyword:  effectiveness, farmer group, leadership. ABSTRACTKelompok tani merupakan wadah bagi petani agar memudahkan petani dalam menajalankan usahataninya, jika kelompok tani berjalan secara efektif sesuai dengan tujuan kelompoknya. Kelompok tani yang efektif tidak terlepas dari peran ketua kelompok. Ketua kelompok tani memiliki peran yang penting dalam mendukung kelompok mencapai tujuan kelompoknya. Berdasarkan latar belakang yang telah diuraikan, maka tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui: keefektifan kelompok tani padi sawah; tingkat kepemimpinan ketua kelompok tani; dan hubungan antara tingkat kepemimpinan ketua kelompok tani dengan keefektifan kelompok tani padi sawah di Kecamatan Sukoharjo Kabupaten Pringsewu.  Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kecamatan Sukoharjo Kabupaten Pringsewu, dengan 73 petani responden. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan metode survey, dengan anilisis deskriptif dan menggunakan uji statistik korelasi rank spearman non parametrik untuk menguji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kelompok tani padi sawah memiliki tingkat keefektifan yang tinggi, memiliki tingkat kepemimpinan ketua kelompok yang sedang, dan kepemimpinan ketua kelompok tani memiliki hubungan yang nyata dengan keefektifan kelompok tani.

Abstract

 Farmers' Response to The Use of Combine Harvester Time to Harvest Wetland Rice in Pringsewu District Lampung Province. The modernization of the agricultural sector needs to be continuously improved, one of which is by implementing agricultural mechanization. The purposes of this study were to observe the response of wetland rice farmers toward the use of a combine harvester, to analyze the relationship between individual characteristics and farmer responses against the use of a combine harvester and to assess differences in rice production levels of wetland rice farmers using a combine harvester compared to conventional harvest methods (not using a combine harvester). The study was conducted in Bulurejo Village, Gadingrejo Sub-district, Pringsewu District, Lampung Province from April to June. 2019. The assessment approach was carried out using a survey method of 112 farmers consisting of users of the combine harvester and conventional farmers, each of which was 56 farmers. The collected data consists of primary data, including farmers’ characteristics (age, education, land area, farming experience, and farmer's cosmopolitan level), farmer responses, and rice production achievement (tons/ha). The collected data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively, enriched with Rank Spearman correlation analysis. The results of the study showed that the response of farmers to the combine harvester was quite responsive. Farmers' responses had a positive correlation with education level and cosmopolitan level, while the number of family dependents had a negative correlation. Efforts to increase farmer responses to the use of the combine harvester can be done by increasing farmer education, both formal and non-formal education; increasing farmer's emptiness by means of active extension agents inviting farmers to seek information as well as partnership with stakeholder outside their social system. Keywords: wetland rice, farmers’ responses, combine harvester, mechanization  ABSTRAK Modernisasi sektor pertanian perlu terus ditingkatkan salah satunya dengan menerapkan mekanisasi pertanian. Tujuan dari kajian adalah melihat respons petani padi sawah terhadap penggunaan combine harvester, melihat hubungan karakteristik individu dengan respons petani terhadap penggunaan combine harvester, dan mengkaji perbedaan tingkat produksi padi petani padi sawah penggunaan combine harvester dibandingkan dengan cara panen konvensional (tidak menggunakan combine harvester). Kajian dilakukan di Desa Bulurejo Kecamatan Gadingrejo, Kabupaten Pringsewu Provinsi Lampung pada bulan April sd Juni 2019. Pendekatan pengkajian dilakukan menggunakan metode survei terhadap 112 orang petani yang terdiri dari pengguna combine harvester dan petani konvensional, masing-masing 56 orang petani. Data yang dikumpulkan terdiri dari data primer, meliputi: karakteristik responden (umur, pendidikan, luas lahan, pengalaman berusahatani, dan tingkat kekosmopolitan petani), respons petani, dan capaian produksi padi (ton/ha). Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif dipertajam dengan analisis korelasi Rank Spearman. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa respons petani terhadap combine harvester cukup responsif. Respons petani berkorelasi positif dengan tingkat pendidikan dan tingkat kekosmopolitan, dan jumlah tanggungan keluarga yang sedikit. Upaya peningkatan respons petani terhadap penggunaan combine harvester dapat dilakukan dengan meningkatkan pendidikan petani baik pendidikan formal maupun pendidikan non formal, meningkatkan kekosmopolitanan petani dengan cara penyuluh aktif mengajak petani untuk mencari informasi, dan bermitra dengan stakeholder di luar sistem sosialnya.Kata kunci: padi sawah, respon petani, combine harvester, mekanisasi

Abstract

This study was aimed at analyzing the performance of agricultural instructors, participation and community satisfaction in agricultural extension activities in Kotagajah District, Central Lampung Regency. The study used a qualitative research approach. The method used in this field survey was the survey method. The results of the study provided information that the performance of agricultural extension workers as facilitators in Kotagajah District, Central Lampung Regency was good. The instructor had helped poktan (agricultural group) members to get good saprotan (agricultural equipment) and working capital, had helped members to attend training held by government / private institutions, had helped groups collaborate with government agencies or agriculture services, had helped groups collaborate with other farmer groups, and had helped groups in compiling work programs and designs for quality improvement in agriculture. Evaluation on the instructor performance has found that the agricultural instructors used material the suited the farmers need, mastered good technical and practical knowledge when delivering teaching materials, were able to manage internal and external communication with farmers, conveyed information about the importance of agricultural groups and joining the groups, responded to complaints and problems of farmers, and facilitated farmers' problems. Community participation in agricultural extension programs organized by the agricultural instructors consisted of several activities such as: being active in farmer groups, farmers joining farmer groups, farmers giving advice on the development of farmer groups, and farmers proposing extension activities. The community in general was quite satisfied with the performance of agricultural extension instructors in Kotagajah District, Central Lampung Regency. Keywords: evaluation, satisfaction, performance, participation, and agricultural extension.

Abstract

Saburai goat was crossing breed by grading up between male Boer and female Ettawah grade goat. This research was conducted to compare production performance of male Saburai goat at Gisting subdistrict and Sumberejo subdistrict as Saburai goat breeding source area. Survey method were used in this research by observation to 90 at Gisting subdistrict and 90 at Sumberejo subdistrict tails male Saburai goat as sample. The sample were choosed by purposive sampling method. Variables observed were birth weight (BW), weaning weight (WW), yearling weight (YW), average of preweaning daily gain (APreDG), average of postweaning daily gain (APostDG). The data was analyzed by t-student test. Result of research indicated that BW (3,42+0,28 kg), WW (16,22+3,77 kg), YW (36,56+4,85 kg), APreDG (140,00+0,04 g/tail/day), APostDG (70,00+0,02 g/tail/day) of Saburai goat at Gisting subdistrict was not different (P>0,05) with Saburai goat at Sumberejo subdistrict (BW 3,48+0,41 kg, WW 16,85+258 kg, YW 38,30+5,35 kg, APreDG 150,00+0,03 g/tail/day, APostDG 80,00+0,02 g/tail/day). Keywords: performance production, Saburai male goat, Tanggamus

Abstract

The Birth of the Village Law No. 6 of 2014 concerning Villages makes villages have an important role for regional autonomy, and village fund policies. With the existence of village funds as a source of village income originating from APBN transfers, sources of village original income (PADes) can be optimally supported if management is carried out properly. This study aims to determine the effect of village funds on PADes and analyze the use of village funds for village development activities. The study was conducted in a survey in 12 villages using descriptive analysis and paired sample T test. The results showed that there was no difference in PADes before and after village funds were given. This means that the presence or absence of village funds given to villages does not affect the increase in PADes received. 70 percent of villages in Pesawaran Regency the amount of PADes received is still zero or even decreased from the previous year. The management of village funds still has many shortcomings, both in the form of transparency to orderly rules ranging from independent villages to underdeveloped villages. 90 percent of villages utilize village funds for physical development activities and only Sukaraja Village (independent villages) which is larger utilize village funds for community development/empowerment activities.

Abstract

This research aims to know: the level of extensions performance before and after BP3K development program as CoE model, the effectiveness of BP3K development progam as CoE model in rising of extensions’ performances, and the relating factors to extensions performance of BP3K as CoE model in Batanghari Subdistrict of East Lampung Regency.  This research was conducted in 14 villages as the patronage regions in Batanghari Subdistrict from September until October 2013.  The samples were 11 agricultural extension workers and 88 patronage farmers chosen by proportional random sampling from two most active farmer groups.  The research data was analyzed by descriptive qualitative method and rank spearman analysis.  The result showed that the increasing level of extensions’ performances in BP3K of Batanghari Subdistrict before and after CoE program were increasing in arranging elucidation program, increasing in excellent agribusiness productivity in its own region, and up to now the extensions have been applying cyber extensions for helping the extensions activity. The effectiveness of CoE program in raising the extensions performance in BP3K of Batanghari Subdistrict was effective enough. Abstract

The aim of this research were to determine perceptions, preferences and consumption pattern and the factors that affected the consumption of cassava snacks by teenagers. This research used survey method. The sampling technique used in this research was Simple Random Sampling. Respondents were 35 students of SMAN 2 Bandar Lampung and 37 students of SMAN 1 Tumijajar. The data were analyzed by quantitative description and verification analysis. The results showed that students's perception of the cassava snacks price, availability of cassava snacks, appearance and image of cassava snacks were considered normal. The students generally preferred cassava snacks with spicy flavor, strong cassava aroma and crunchy texture. The most preferred form of cassava snacks was chips. During a month, teenagers got energy from cassava snacks  that the average is 86 kcal/day for teenagers in Bandar Lampung and 75 kcal/day for teenagers in Tumijajar. The average consumption frequence of cassava snacks by teenagers in Bandar Lampung is 1-2 times per month and 3-4 times per month by teenagers in Tumijajar. Type of cassava snacks that was consumed during the past month was cassava chips, klanting, combro, and tela-tela. Cassava snacks were obtained by purchasing in the shop or in the market, self cooking, and or providing by others. The factors that influence food consumption of cassava snacks are household income, number of teens allowance, environment gender and preferences. The higher of household income and allowance teenagers will make the consumption of cassava snacks greater. Key words: cassava snacks, consumption pattern, perception, preference, teenagers

Abstract

This research was aimed to analyze PKBL of PTPN VII Rejosari’s Business Unit, community’s and company’s management perception to PKBL, and the factors that influence the community’s perception to PKBL. This research was conducted at Rejosari Village, Natar Subdistrict, South Lampung Regency. This research used survey method and the data was collected from April to May 2014.  The research respondents were 84 households that were chosen randomly. The data was analyzed by descriptive and path analysis. The result showed that PKBL by PTPN VII Rejosari’s Business Unit applied to two sectors: economic and environmental. PKBL granted directly to the recipient and the dissemination of information through the village officials and employees. The ccommunity’s perception of PKBL by PTPN VII Rejosari’s Business Unit was good enough because the program was given in various forms of assistances that was useful to community and the environment. Perception of the company's management on PKBL was also good for helping and providing great benefits to community and the environment. The factors that influenced to the community’s perception on PKBL by PTPN VII Rejosari’s Business Unit were personal age, personal educational level, and personal knowledge level. The most influencing factor of community’s perception on PKBL was personal age. Key words: community, development, partnership, perception, PKBL
