Abstract

In design a car, it was necessary to pay attention to the frame structure design to get safety and comfort in driving. The frame design process starts with frame selection and material selection, followed by manual static calculation and stress analysis simulation using Autodesk Inventor 2017. The forces obtained by the frame comes from the weight of the driver, engine, and the body of the car. After the frame design has done, we get the results of the frame with a length of 2700 mm, a width of 550 mm and a height of 565 mm, this is based on the body shape of the car, driver, and available engine. The material of frame is a profile rod rectangular hollow 40 mm x 20 mm x 2 mm and square hollow 40 mm x 40 mm x 2 mm. In the static simulation obtained the greatest stress occurs in the main rod with a value of 100.8 MPa, and with the selection of the safety factor value of 4, so that the material suitable for use is carbon steel ST37. From the simulation results obtained the minimum safety factor value with a value of 1.83 but only in one small area in the frame.Keyword : frame, static analysis, stress, safety factor, Autodesk Inventor

Abstract

The process of making meatballs is still using a very manual method that is by using the hand. Making manually requires a long time and is still doubtful about its cleanliness. One solution to this problem is to design a meatball molding that can help small businesses to produce more efficient and effective processed meatball production. The results of designing a molding machine for meatballs with a capacity of 250-280 grains/minute, produce specifications using an electric engine drive with a power of 1 HP with a speed of 1440 rpm. The source of the forces acting on the shaft is the pulling force on the belt. The engine transmission system uses pulleys with an outer diameter of 2 inches and 9 inches that connect the motor to the connecting shaft with v-belt type A no 38, from the connecting shaft to the cutter with 2 pulleys with a diameter of 3 inches using a v-belt no 20, then pulleys connecting the connecting shaft with the stirrer shaft with a size of 3 inches and 7 inches using v-belt type A no 42. Abstract

Excavators are heavy equipment used to move material from one place to another.Excavators are widely used in various fields, namely: construction, mining,infrastructure, etc.The University of Riau has produced a mini excavator model design in the Hydraulic and Pneumatic Laboratory of the Faculty of Engineering Mechanical Engineering using a pneumatic system based on undercarriage, equipped with a remote control system, and 360˚ swing rotation.This research was modified the air supply section , in the design of the tube using a two data that the calculation and software autodesk inventor 2015, This research was revealed the highest strees calculation data results of head 9.05 MPa and shell of 4.56 MPa, while data software autodesk inventor 2015 that was obtained the highest strees head of 4.15 MPa and shell of 4.49 MPa.The tube pressure of 5.8 bars of total air requirement wason a pneumatic system of 3.8 bars and the remaining air that was stored in 2 bars. The pneumatic system can drive the air pressure of 5.8-6 bars. Therefore, the movement was likelyan excavator in general.Key Word : excavator, presurre, strees analysis

Abstract

The development of a country coupled by the economic growth of its people, the example of a small economy is small and medium enterprises. The development of small and medium enterprises needs to be considered in line with economic growth. One of the small and medium business units in Riau is the fish meatballs processing. In the process of fish meatballs boiling have a convection heat transfer process between water and fish meatballs and conducting in a sphere of meatballs. The purpose of this research was to design the vessel of boiling fish braid container with 1000 W power capacity with automatic temperature control system. Based on the results of the study produced dimension 78 × 20 × 25 cm thickness of 1.4 mm plate and stiffeners. The result of the test result is 2.5 hours and is actually 1 hour 20 minutes. The boiling time of meatballs with size 3.1 cm is 15 minutes theoretically and 4.6 minutes onaverage from test result. The total mass of processed meatballs is 3.12 kg with total wheat balls of 163 grains.Safety factor that obtained by using software ANSYS Workbench V15.0 is 1.6.Keywords: design boiling vessel, heat transfer conduction transient, safety factor.

Abstract

DFMA is defined as the design of a product or component that can facilitate the manufacturing process and the assembly process with other components to become a whole product. The process of molding meatballs plays an important role in the production process or economic process. Meatball molding machine has the working principle of stirring the dough by rotating the stirring knife, which is stacked on the shaft that receives rotation of the pulley and gears driven by an electric motor. Meatball dough that is already inside the stirrer will be pushed towards the cutting knife using a stirring knife, then the cutting knife serves to form the meatball dough into meatball granules. The development of a simplified design is needed to increase efficiency and reduce time in assembling meatball molding machines. Design development does not change the function of each product component. The calculation of the efficiency of the assembly of meatball molding machines in Patin Village was carried out at the beginning of the study, then a combination process and component elimination were carried out which did not affect the value added of the product. Meatball molding machines in Patin Village have 24 engine elements with 77 components, requiring 11 minutes 50.47 seconds assembly time and 10.13% assembly efficiency while the engine design development results have 21 engine elements with 64 component components, requiring 8 minutes 5.17 seconds assembly time and assembly efficiency of 12.98%.Keywords: DFMA, Meatball Molding, Meatball Molding Machines, Assembly Efficiency

Abstract

One of the heavy equipment that play role in development projects is the excavator. Excavator can perform construction work such as digging, breaking, loading and so on. Laboratory of Hydraulics and Pneumatics Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Riau has produced a model excavator using pneumatic system, support on a controller box, equipped with buttons setting and motion rotary swing 120o. The research has modifications control system, remove control box under the excavator and change to the remote system. Motion rotary swing system has changed from 120o to 360o. The purpose is all movements similar in general excavator. The result, excavator model using power 12V DC the control system and compressed air drive pneumatic system. The results of testing control system work to properly, the rotary motion of the swing system 360o and use electrical voltage 7,5V will have speed 13,598 rpm, so swing motion from the excavator model similar in general.  Kata kunci : control,excavator, remote, swing

Abstract

Meatball molding machine is a tool used to shape meatballs automatically by using electric motor power. The design stage is consists of needs analysis, preparation of product technical specifications, design of product concepts to produce alternative product concepts, which are then selected concepts to be made. From the form of the concept to be made, static analysis is carried out on the mechanical components of the meatball molding machine frame, which includes stress, deformation due to loading, safety factor and the number of welded wire. Static analysis was carried out in two ways, namely by manual calculation and finite element analysis using Autodesk Inventor 2016 Student Edition Software. Based on the results of the static analysis, the results of the maximum pressure was 0.5274 MPa on rod 1, 0.7031 MPa on rod 2. Deformation length was equal to 0.008721 mm on rod 1, 0.00116 mm on rod 2. The Safety factor was occurred 43.6 in stem 1, 32.7 in stem 2. The welding wire was used 8.635 sticks. The cutting time of the required frame components was 5.76 minutes. Keywords: meatballs machine, frame, stress, welding

Abstract

The need of unrenewable source synthetic lubricating oil is increasing thus many researchs have been conducted to find the substitute. Palm oil is one of alternatives, however  direct use of palm oil as a lubricant remain cause problems namely high density of  palm oil leads to imperfect lubrication. It is necessary to find the correct additif which is able to improve the lubricant properties. This research evaluate the addition of calcium hypochlorite to density of Palm Oil. The samples were prepared in 250 ml  volume in three volume ratios which are (90:10), (85:15), and (80:20). The mixing process is conducted at 100 rpm and heated 120°C in 2 hours.The density test resultshows that calcium hypochlorite decreases the density of palm oil as follows 901 kg/m3 for 90:10,898 kg/m3for 80:15, and 897 kg/m3for 80:20. Abstract

Excavator is units of the heavy equipment that serves the physical development sectors such as mining excavations in the area , establishing or expanding roads and expand agricultural land and other physical development . One part of the excavator that has a very large role in the undercarriage . Undercarriage is a component of the heavy equipment that serves as a driver and has a track drive right and left track drive . This research was conducted with the aim to make modeling as excavators in general by using materials available in the market . Next calculate the speed , direction of turn with a different variation of the track ( ceramic , asphalt , soil ) and the maximum tilt angle that can be achieved by the excavator . From the test data and calculations have been carried out with 3 times the gear reduction is obtained without load speed excavator bucket is 0.25 m / s while using a load of 1.5 kg bucket excavator speed is 0.24 m / s at the track ceramics . While the direction of maximum inflection occurs on the track with a diameter ceramic to turn right for 995 mm and 782 mm turn left . At the maximum angle of incline can be obtained at 10 degrees .  Key Word : excavator, undercarriage

Abstract

The system piping is a system that is used to distribute the fluid in the form of a substance of liquid or gas from one point to multiple points more to distance the relatively long. By because it’s, various types of damage that can occur in the system piping becomes important to be studied and prevented. Prevention of damage, be it leaks or blockages, is very important because it can reduce the number of losses both to the economy, the natural environment, and even loss of life. In this study, a method was developed to detect damage to pipes using sound signals. The detection of damage to the plumbing done by using a signal sounds and four microphones. Methods of signal noise is a smart structural health monitoring that can detect damage at the cost of the more inexpensive. Excitation noise is given by using a loudspeaker and the response signal noise is sampled using four microphones that are connected to the PC- Oscilloscope which serves to convert the signal analog results of recording sound into a signal of digital form of the value of domains of time and then use a Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) to determine the location of the damage that occurs in the pipe sheath. To detect the location of pipe damage in various positions of damage, it can be searched by comparing the wavelet coefficient of the four microphones.
