Abstract

Tanaman malaka adalah salah satu tanaman obat yang mempunyai khasiat sebagai antiinflamasi. Aktivitas antiinflamasi dalam tubuh hewan dapat dinilai berdasarkan beberapa parameter salah satunya adalah menghitung jumlah differensial sel leukosit. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui efek ekstrak etanol daun malaka (Phyllanthus emblica) terhadap differensial leukosit pada mencit jantan yang diinduksi karagenan. Penelitian ini menggunakan 20 ekor mencit yang dibagi dalam 5 kelompok perlakuan dengan 4 ekor mencit perkelompok perlakuan. Semua mencit diinduksi inflamasi dengan menggunakan karagenan dengan dosis 1%. Mencit pada kelompok 1 (kontrol negatif) tidak diberi ekstrak etanol daun malaka dan suspensi piroxicam. Kelompok 2 (kontrol positif) diberikan piroxicam 20 mg. Kelompok 3, 4, dan 5 diberikan ekstrak etanol daun malaka masing-masing dengan dosis 100 mg/kgbb, 200 mg/kgbb dan 300 mg/kgbb. Pengambilan darah dilakukan pada hari ke-5 setelah perlakuan. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis varians (ANAVA) pola satu arah menggunakan program SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rataan (±SD) jumlah granulosit pada K1, K2, K3, K4, dan K5 adalah 40,00±13,29%; 44,74±7,32%; 35,5±11,9%; 50,00±10,09% dan 38,75±20,53%. Rata-rata sel monosit pada K1, K2, K3, K4 dan K5 adalah 14,25±6,44%; 14,50±9,71%; 5,25±3,30%;5,25±2,5% dan 12,75±4,34%. Sementara rata-rata sel limfosit pada K1, K2, K3, K4 dan K5 adalah 45,75±17,68%; 40,75±12,03%; 59,25±10,11%; 44,75±9,94% dan 48,5±16,8%. Analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa differensial sel leukosit diantara semua kelompok tidak berbeda nyata (P0,05). Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak etanol daun malaka pada mencit yang diinduksikan inflamasi dengan karagenan tidak mempengaruhi jumlah differensial leukosit.

Abstract

Malaria still cause health problem in tropics including Indonesia, since its generate high mortality rate. Medication of Malaria has been performed long time ago without optimum result. One reason is the high rate of P.falciparum resistance on conventional antimalaria drug. This research aim to evaluate the activity of jaloh leaves extract (Willow leaves) on the inhibition of P.falciparum in vitro.This was a laboratory experimental research that using Indonesian isolates of cloroquin resistance P.falciparum obtained from NAMRU-2, Jakarta. P.falciparum isolate that has been synchronized were divided in to 3 groups of treatment : Jaloh leaves ethanolic extract, jaloh leaves ethyl acetate extract, and jaloh leaves n-hexane extract. Each group were then alloted into 5 dosage levels: 6,25ug/ml; 12,50ug/ml; 25,00ug/ml; 50,00ug/ml; and 100ug/ml. The observation of parasitemia degree were done 48 hours post-incubation in which the thick blood smear were colored with Giemsa and then examined using bioculer microscope. Data were analyzed using one way ANOVA and Newman-Keuls test. The result showed that the percentage of P.falciparum growth inhibition were sinificantly different (P0.05) among treatments wherein ethanol extract and ethyl acetate extract more inhibit P.falciparum growth than the hexane extract. The administration of different dosage also resulted in significance different (P0.05) of P.falciparum growth inhibition. This research concludes that jaloh leaves extract could inhibit P.falciparum growth.

Abstract

The aim of the present study was to find out the in vitro activity of ethyl acetate fraction of willow leaves (Salix tetrasperma Roxb) on Plasmodium folcifarum (P. falciparum) growth.

Abstract

Blood examination is an examination for further diagnosis, one of the methods for further diagnosis was to see the morphology of red blood cells. The aim of this study was to determine the morphology of red blood cells in the local Sumatran reticulated python (Malayophyton reticulatus). Fives samples of local Sumatran reticulated python (M. reticulatus) blood were collected through the ventral coccigea vein and made a blood smear. The results obtained were analyzed using descriptive methods, the results were that the morphology of red blood cells of Sumatran reticulated pythons was oval in shape, had an oval to round nucleus, pink-purple cytoplasm and a deep purple nucleus. In addition, polychromatophilic red blood cells were also found with irregular nuclei, irregular cell shape, cell cytoplasm that was more faded than adult red blood cells and slightly smaller in size than adult erythrocytes. The conclusion is that the adult red blood cells of Sumatran reticulated pythons are oval in shape, has a nucleus, pink-purple cytoplasm and dark purple cell nucleus. The morphology of immature red blood cells is characterized by irregular nuclei, irregular cell shape and faded cytoplasm. Further research is needed to measure and count the number of the other blood cells.

Abstract

Glucose, cholesterol, and protein are blood objects of macro-nutrients which are very important in gonadotropin synthesis. Gonadotropin secretion is closely related to estrous performance. This study aims to determine the biochemical profile of Aceh cattle blood during estrus with different estrus intensity. In this study, ten Aceh cattle were used with criteria aged 3-5 years, had at least one birth, had a normal reproductive cycle, healthy body condition, and had two regular estrus cycles. The blood biochemical profiles measured were total protein, cholesterol, and glucose levels. Spectrophotometer and Lab test reagent examined the samples. Data were analyzed using t test. The results showed that total protein content; cholesterol; and glucose at score 3 vs score 4 were 8.38 ± 0.84 vs 9.18 ± 2.77 g / dl (P> 0.05); 97.85 ± 22.21 vs 72.5 ± 3.37 mg / dl (P <0.05); and 2.22 ± 0.53 vs. 6.80 ± 5.87 (mg / dl) (P> 0.05), respectively. It was concluded that the difference in estrus intensity scores 3 and 4 of Aceh cattle was affected by cholesterol concentration, but not affected by total protein concentration and blood glucose.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan menghitung jumlah sel darah putih, jumlah sel darah merah, kadar hemoglobin, nilai hematokrit dan jumlah trombosit ikan mujair (Oreochromis mossambicus) yang diberi paparan merkuri klorida (HgCl2). Sampel ikan diambil dari tambak ikan Gampong Cadek, Banda Aceh sebanyak 36 ekor. Rancangan yang digunakan yaitu rancangan acak lengkap pola faktorial 3x4, terdiri dari 4 kelompok perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor A (lama perlakuan 10, 20 dan 30 hari) dan faktor B (paparan merkuri klorida 0,00; 0,25; 0,50; dan 0,75 ppm). Ikan sebanyak 9 ekor  dimasukkan ke dalam masing-masing akuarium berisi 100 liter air. Sampel darah diambil pada vena caudalis sebanyak 1 ml dari 3 ekor ikan mujair pada setiap kelompok pada hari ke 10, 20, dan 30. Darah diperiksa dengan menggunakan Hematology Analyzer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa paparan merkuri klorida tidak mempengaruhi jumlah sel darah putih, jumlah sel darah merah, kadar hemoglobin, nilai hematokrit dan jumlah trombosit ikan mujair. Hasil juga menunjukkan tidak ada pengaruh interaksi antara konsentrasi paparan merkuri klorida dan lama paparan merkuri klorida terhadap profil hematologi. ABSTRACTThe aimed of this study was to calculate the numbers of white blood cells, red blood cells, hemoglobin level, hematocrit proportion and number of platelets of Tilapia fish (Oreochromis mossambicus) that had been exposed to mercury chloride (HgCl2). A total of 36 samples from fish ponds of Gampong Cadek, Banda Aceh. This study was designed by using complete randomized factorial pattern 3x4, which consisted of 4 treatments and 3 replications. Factor A (duration of treatment 10, 20 and 30 days) and factor B (exposured to mercury chloride at 0,00; 0,25; 0,50; and 0,75 ppm). Nine fish were put into every aquarium containing 100 liters of water. Blood sample were taken 1 ml  from vena caudalis from 3 Tilapia fish in each group on day 10, 20, and 30.  Blood examined using Hematology Analyzer. The result of the study indicated that mercury chloride consentration do not affect  the number of white blood cells, red blood cells, hemoglobin level, hematocrit proportion and amount platelets of Tilapia fish. Furthermore, it is also showed  no interaction between concentration of mercury chloride and periode  exposure of mercury chloride to the hematology profile.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kepadatan jentik nyamuk Aedes spp di Gampong Peurada, Kecamatan Syiah Kuala, Kota Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mengunakan metode single larva (survei). Wilayah survei meliputi dusun-dusun yang terdapat di Gampong Peurada yaitu Dusun Setia, Dusun Sentosa dan Dusun Bahagia dengan jumlah sampel yang diambil sebanyak 40 rumah setiap dusun, total sampel sebanyak 120 rumah. Data jentik yang diperoleh dari berbagai jenis wadah yang ditemukan di Gampong Peurada, dihitung kepadatan berdasarkan parameter indeks jentik yaitu House Index (HI), Container Index (CI) dan Bretau Index (BI). Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan didapatkan nilai Density Figure (DF) adalah 3,3 atau pada rentang (2-5) yang termasuk dalam kategori kepadatan populasi sedang. Hasil tersebut didapatkan dari nilai  indeks jentik nyamuk Aedes spp di Gampong Peurada yaitu House Index (HI) : 17%, Container Index (CI) : 10%, Bretau Index(BI) : 27. (This study was aimed to determine the density of Aedes spp larvae in Peurada Village, Syiah Kuala Subdistrict, Banda Aceh City. This research was conducted by using single larvae method (survey). The survey area includes the hamlets located in Peurada Village, Setia Hamlet; Sentosa Hamlet and Bahagia Hamlet with the number of samples taken as many 40 houses each hamlet, total sample of 120 houses. The larvae data wer obtained from the various types of containers found in Gampong Peurada, were density calculated based on larvae index parameters is House Index (HI), Container Index (CI) dan Bretau Index (BI). The results of research which have been done got value density figure is 3,3 or included in medium density category with Density Figure number (2-5). The results got based on the index larvae of Aedes spp in Gampong Peurada obtained House Index (HI): 17%, Container Index (CI): 10%, Bretau Index (BI): 27.)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat sebaran sel Goblet pada usus lele lokal (Clarias batrachus). Bagian yang diambil adalah usus proksimal, medial dan distal yang berasal dari tiga ekor lele lokal dan diamati menggunakan metode histologi eksplorasi. Sampel kemudian dibuat menjadi preparat histologi dengan pewarnaan periodic acid-Schiff (PAS)  dan pewarnaan hematoksilin-eosin (HE). Parameter yang diamati adalah jumlah dan sebaran sel Goblet pada usus lele lokal.  Data penghitungan sel Goblet dianalisis menggunakan uji ANOVA dan uji lanjutan Post Hoc. Sel Goblet pada usus lele lokal memperlihatkan perbedaan sangat nyata (p0,01). Jumlah sel Goblet pada masing-masing bagian usus adalah: usus proksimal 33,67±1,52; usus medial 45,00±2,00; dan usus distal 68,33±5,68. Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa jumlah sel-sel Goblet dari arah proksimal ke arah distal semakin banyak dengan sebaran sel Goblet yang jaraknya berdekatan, sehingga terdapat perbedaan jumlah dan sebaran sel Goblet pada bagian-bagian usus lele lokal.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan mengamati jumlah eritrosit, hemoglobin, hematokrit dan trombosit kelinci setelah implan plate material logam. Penelitian ini menggunakan 6 ekor kelinci yang dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok. Kelompok 1 diimplan plate tantalum dan kelompok 2 diimplan plate besi. Pengambilan darah melalui vena auricularis pada hari ke 0, 7, 14, 28, dan 56. Setelah perlakuan jumlah eritrosit, hemoglobin, hematokrit dan trombosit dihitung menggunakan hematology analyzer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penurunan jumlah eritrosit, hemoglobin dan hematokrit setelah implan material logam dengan perbedaan tidak signifikan antar waktu pengamatan sedangkan jumlah trombosit menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antar waktu pengamatan. Implan plate tantalum dan plate besi menyebabkan perubahan jumlah eritrosit, hemoglobin, hematokrit dan trombosit pada beberapa hari pengamatan. Kata kunci : eritrosit, hemoglobin, hematokrit, plate besi, plate tantalumABSTRACT            This study was aimed to determine the number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin, hematocrit and thrombocytes on rabbits after metal plate implant. This study used 6 rabbits that divided into 2 groups. Group 1 was implanted of tantalum plate and group 2 was implanted of iron plate. Taking blood through auricular vein on days 0, 7, 14, 28, dan 56. After treatment the number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin, hematocrit and thrombocytes were calculated with the hematology analyzer. The results showed a decrease in the number of  erythrocytes, hemoglobin and hematocrit after metal plate implant with no significant difference between the time of observation while trombocytes showed a significant difference between the time of observation. Tantalum implant and iron plate causes changes in the number of erythrocyte, hemoglobin, hematocrit and thrombocyte on several days of observation. Keywords: total of erythrocyte, hemoglobin, hematocrit, thrombocyte, iron plate, tantalum plate

Abstract

ABSTRAKLeukosit adalah sel pertahanan tubuh yang berfungsi memfagosit seluruh benda yang dianggap asing oleh tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jumlah total leukosit dan persentase diferensial leukosit kelinci setelah pemasangan implant plate material logam. Penelitian ini menggunakan 6 ekor kelinci yang dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok. Kelompok I (K-I) diimplan plate tantalum dan kelompok II (K-II) diimplan plate besi. Pengambilan darah melalui vena auricularis pada hari ke 0, 7, 14, 28, dan 56 setelah implan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan implan plate tantalum dan plate  besi tidak berpengaruh terhadap total leukosit dan diferensial leukosit. Total leukosit diantara hari pengamatan menunjukan perbedaan pada masing-masing kelompok, namun masih dalam nilai normal. Penggunaan implan plate tantalum dan plate besi tidak memiliki efek terhadap gambaran sel darah putih dan persentase diferensial leukosit.Kata kunci : leukosit, diferensial leukosit, plate besi, plate tantalumABSTRACTLeukocytes are the body's defense cells that function to phagocyte all objects considered as foreign by the body. This study aims to determine the total leukocytes and differential percentage of rabbit leukocytes that paired of plate implants with metal material. This study used 6 rabbits divided into 2 groups. Group I was implanted with tantalum plate and group II  was implanted using an iron plate. Blood collection through the auricular vein on days 0, 7, 14, 28, and 56. Leukocyte and differential counts leukocytes are calculated using the Mindray hematology analyzer. The results of the study showed that tantalum implants and iron plates have no effect on total leukocytes and differentials leukocytes. The total leukocytes between observations show differences, but are still deep in normal range. The use of tantalum implants and iron plates has no effect against white blood cell images and differential leukocyte percentages.Keywords: leukocytes, differential leukocytes, iron plate, tantalum plate
