Abstract

This article is result of research on the validity of the college entrance test. College entrance test including programs of study must have the characteristics of a good test especially predictive validity. Entrance test study program Master of Arabic Education (PBA) FITK UIN Jakarta consists of four types of tests; the Academic Potential Test (TPA), TOAFL, TOEFL and interviews, the four must be able to predict exactly when the students join the program. That is, students who earn higher test scores should be able to follow the course as evidenced by the value of IP and or higher GPA compared with the results of the entry test lower. Similarly in predicting students graduate on time, which requires in addition to success in the lecture was also successful in the final project / Thesis which some students a frightening specter. Its mean that students with higher admission tests should be faster in completing the study compared with the lower value of the entry test. If not, then it must be held meta-evaluation of the instruments and implementation of entrance tests which have already become standards.DOI: 10.15408/a.v2i1.1300

Abstract

This research is aimed to know the effect of learning method’s towards Arabic Achievement of the Fifth Grade Students of Islamic Elementary School Pembangunan Islamic State University Sharif Hidayatullah Jakarta 2009/2010. The research questions were: is there any difference in Arabic learning achievement as a whole between a group of students who have been given intiqâiyyah methods and another group of students who have been given conventional methods. This research was an experimental study using randomized control group design. The influencing factorial variable are learning methods on Arabic. The Arabic learning achievement was used to know the students’ skill or capability Arabic learning. In experimental class, intiqâiyyah methods as experiment methods, and conventional methods as control methods. This research concluded that there was any difference between students Arabic achievements of group of students who have been given intiqâiyyah methods and group of students who have been given conventional methods.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the nahwu epistemology of Imam Sibawaih, Ibn Madha, and William Wright. Different views on these principles will have an impact on differences in understanding and views in ilm al-Nahwi. The method used in this research is to use a qualitative method by describing the nahwu epistemology of Imam Sibawaih, Ibn Madha, and William Wright. For data retrieval and collection, the author uses library research because the data sources are reference books, and articles from online libraries, and online journals related to the theme of the article. The results of this study, Sibawaih in formulating the rules of nahwu used all the epistemological methods of nahwu (ushul al-nahwi), while Ibn Madha rejected the methods of qiyas and ta'lil. Nor does Wright use the method of qiyas and ta'lil in compiling his monumental work on nahwu which is popular among orientalists.

Abstract

This research was aimed to develop syllabus of Arabic Learning Planning course. The syllabus to be developed is a syllabus that enables the students to develop good planning in learning Arabic language based on both the theory of unity (All in One System / نظرية الوحدة) and branch theory (نظرية الفروع). The design of learning is essentially a skill; therefore the learning should be activity-based. If not, the students who study development will not be proficient. This paper discussed a syllabus model that is able to develop Arabic learning designs for madrasah, schools and pesantren in which Arabic language is taught and activity-based.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an "Arabic morphological simplification model with a constructivism approach and the analogy of learning sharf in Fast Time." The research approach used is qualitative and quantitative types of development research (R&D). Researchers will develop an Arabic morphological model that can make neural learning successful in this fast time through surveys, interviews, documentation studies, and FGDs. It found that model was developed has succeeded in learning. Arabic education experts provide positive support to continue developing Arabic morphology models based on constructivism and analogy. Many inputs are used as references for researchers in developing the model designs that have been made. In the next stage, students as objects and public test subjects feel that neural learning becomes meaningful. Students also get a new, productive, and accessible learning model, even for those who are very 'basic,' who have always been seen as having difficulty mastering nerves.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out whether the skills of listening and reading Arabic texts possessed by female students at the Islamic boarding school have an influence on their ability to write Arabic. After the researchers conducted quantitative research, using data collection techniques in the form of tests, observation and documentation. The results obtained were that the influence of listening skills on writing had a calculated r value (0.513) greater than r table (with a value of 0.216) with a significance of 5%, so it was stated that listening skills had a medium level influence on writing skills. Meanwhile, regarding the influence of reading skills on writing, it is stated that rcount (with a value of 0.385) is slightly greater than rtable (with a value of 0.216) with a significance of 5%, so it is stated that writing skills have a weak level of influence on writing skills.

Abstract

This study analyzes and compares the accuracy of two generative artificial intelligence models, ChatGPT and Deepseek, in producing taṣrīf (morphological conjugation) and explaining the meanings of wazan (morphological patterns) in Arabic morphology. Employing a descriptive-qualitative method with a content analysis approach, the research uses 30 fiʿl thulāthī mazīd (triliteral verbs with augmentation) representing all categories ṣaḥīḥ, maḥmūz, muḍāʿaf, muʿtal, miṯāl, ajwaf, nāqiṣ, and lafīf. Each verb was tested on ChatGPT 4.0 and Deepseek V3.1, and the outputs were verified against classical references, including al-Bināʾ, al-Maqṣūd, and al-Amthilah al-Taṣrīfiyyah. The findings show that both models produce fairly accurate results with distinctive tendencies: Deepseek aligns more closely with classical morphological rules, while ChatGPT provides more diverse and contextual explanations. Pedagogically, both have strong potential to support Arabic morphology learning through interactive and varied outputs, though teacher supervision remains essential to maintain adherence to classical standards.

Abstract

Student motivation for learning Arabic in secondary school appeared low, indicating a discrepancy between the learning objectives of developing communication skills and the teaching methods, which still focused on memorisation. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of combining habituation, memorisation, and vocabulary understanding in shaping positive attitudes among students. The study used a descriptive, qualitative method, observing classes and interviewing Arabic teachers. The results showed that familiarisation through vocabulary media helped students become accustomed to the language, structured memorisation improved memory, and communication exercises provided confidence and a positive attitude. By combining these three strategies, Arabic language learning became more balanced in developing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. This study made theoretical contributions to the development of an integrated Arabic language learning model and offered practical suggestions for educators to create a more contextual and communicative learning environment.

Abstract

الملخص: تتناول هذه الدراسةُ تطوير مهارة الكلام (المحارَة الكلامية) في تعلُّم اللغة العربية من خلال نهجٍ منهجيّ يشمل الجوانب اللغوية، وسمات ما فوق اللغة (البارالغوية)، إضافةً إلى إعداد أدوات تقييمٍ تتناسب مع كفاءات المتعلِّمين. وتُعدُّ مهارة الكلام من المهارات اللغوية الإنتاجية التي تتطلَّب إتقانَ النُّطق، والمفردات، والبنية النحوية، إلى جانب القدرة على فهم سياقات التواصل. وقد اعتمد البحثُ المنهجَ الوصفيَّ النوعيَّ القائمَ على الدراسة المكتبية (التحليل النظري) لبحث مفهوم مهارة الكلام، ومراحل تعلُّمها، وأدوات تقييمها، بما في ذلك مقياس تقييم معهد الخدمة الخارجية (FSI). وقد أظهرت النتائجُ أن تقييم مهارة الكلام يجب أن يشمل جوانبَ شاملةً مثل النطق، والقواعد، والمفردات، والطلاقة، وفهم السياق. كما ينبغي أن تصيغ أسئلةُ التقييم وفقًا للمستوى الإدراكي للمتعلِّم ونوع الامتحان، سواءً كان موضوعيًّا أو تحريريًّا، لقياس الكفاءة التواصلية بدقة. ومن ثمَّ، يتعيَّن تصميمُ تعليم وتقييم مهارة الكلام تدريجيًّا، بدءًا من المستوى المبتدئ وصولًا إلى المتوسط، باستخدام تقنيات تقييمٍ ملائمة. وعليه، فإن إعداد أدوات تقييمٍ مناسبة يُعدُّ مفتاحًا أساسيًّا لرفع فاعلية تعلُّم الكلام باللغة العربية. الكلمات المفتاحية: التقييم، مهارة الكلام، تعلُّم اللغة العربية ABSTRACT: This study examines the development of maharah al-kalām (speaking skills) in Arabic language learning through a systematic approach that encompasses linguistic, paralinguistic, and evaluative components aligned with learners’ competencies. As a productive language skill, maharah al-kalām requires mastery of pronunciation, vocabulary, sentence structure, and contextual understanding. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method based on literature review to explore the concept of speaking skills, stages of their development, and appropriate evaluation instruments, including the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) rating scale. The findings indicate that evaluating speaking skills must be conducted comprehensively through assessment of pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. Additionally, test item construction should correspond to cognitive levels and test formats, both essay and objective, to accurately measure communicative ability. Speaking instruction and assessment must be designed gradually, from beginner to intermediate levels, using relevant evaluation techniques. Thus, the development of appropriate assessment instruments is essential for improving the effectiveness of Arabic speaking instruction. Keywords : Evaluation, Speaking Skill, Arabic Language Learning ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini membahas pengembangan maharah al-kalām dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab melalui pendekatan sistematis yang mencakup aspek kebahasaan, paralinguistik, serta penyusunan instrumen evaluasi yang sesuai dengan kompetensi peserta didik. Maharah al-kalām sebagai keterampilan berbahasa produktif menuntut penguasaan pelafalan, kosakata, struktur kalimat, serta kemampuan memahami konteks komunikasi. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif berbasis studi kepustakaan untuk mengkaji konsep keterampilan berbicara, tahapan pembelajarannya, serta instrumen evaluasi yang digunakan, termasuk skala penilaian Foreign Service Institute (FSI). Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa evaluasi keterampilan berbicara harus dilakukan melalui penilaian yang komprehensif meliputi pengucapan, tata bahasa, kosakata, kelancaran, dan pemahaman. Selain itu, penyusunan soal dalam evaluasi harus disesuaikan dengan tingkat kognitif dan bentuk tes, baik esai maupun objektif, untuk mengukur kemampuan komunikatif secara akurat. Pembelajaran dan tes maharah al-kalām perlu disusun secara bertahap mulai dari tingkat pemula hingga menengah dengan berbagai teknik penilaian yang relevan. Dengan demikian, pengembangan instrumen evaluasi yang tepat menjadi kunci dalam meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran berbicara bahasa Arab. Abstract

The study of majaz in the classical balaghah tradition plays an important role in understanding the beauty and depth of meaning in Arabic literary texts, especially religious works. However, the analysis of majaz in Maulid Simṭud Durar based on the perspective of ʿAbd al-Qāhir al-Jurjānī is still limited. This study aims to analyse majaz in Maulid Simṭud Durar based on the concepts in Asrār al-Balāghah in order to provide theoretical and practical contributions. The research uses a qualitative method with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach and a literature study of 15 relevant scientific literatures. The instruments are document analysis sheets and data classification tables, with reduction, categorisation, and descriptive-analytical conclusion drawing techniques. The results of the study indicate that majaz and tasybih in Maulid Simṭud Durar function as semantic and aesthetic devices that strengthen the spiritual dimension of the text and are relevant as examples for learning the science of Bayan. Implicitly, this study enriches the development of balaghah and the study of Arabic religious literature.
