The purpose of this study was to find out how the teacher implement the WhatsApp application as a digital communication tool for learning English in junior high school and its impact on students. This study used a qualitative descriptive method and was conducted in Pangkep Junior High School, South Sulawesi, as many as 21 students from class VIII C and 1 English teacher were selected as research subjects through random sampling techniques. Data was obtained from Observation, Interviews, and Documentation. The results obtained from the data analysis are 1) The implementation of the teacher when using the WhatsApp application with 3 indicators as preparation for creating a WhatsApp group, implementation, namely sending file materials, and evaluation, namely providing evaluations and assignments to students. 2) the impact on students by learning to use the WhatsApp application, namely the positive impact: which is being able to do assignments anywhere, easy to understand the material given, the negative impact: which is being unable to ask questions directly, and interact with students is less established.

This study aims to determine students' perceptions on the use of English songs in learning listening for students of English Education, Universitas Negeri Makassar. The researcher applied mixed methods, namely quantitative and qualitative to achieve the objectives of the research. The data collected was in the form of a Likert questionnaire using the Google Form and interviews. The subjects of this study were students of the 2019 English Education Study Program. The sample from the questionnaire consisted of 40 students and interviews with 8 students who were taken using a voluntary sampling technique. The results of the data analysis show that: (1) Students’ perception on the use of English songs in learning Listening with a percentage of 55% of students are classified in the very positive category, 40% of students are classified as positive, 5% of students are classified as moderate, and no students have negative perceptions and very negative. (2) The results of the interviews show that students have a positive perception on the use of English songs in learning Listening.

This study aims to know the problems experienced by deaf learners in learning English writing skills and to find out how the writing skills of a deaf learner in learning English. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data of this study were grouped into two, namely main data consisting of introduction and documentation. Direct observation, administering tests in the form of questionnaires and English writing ability tests. Involved observation and collection of physical artifacts in the form of questionnaire results, English writing ability test results and lesson plans. The results of this study show that deaf learners can write words, phrases and sentences using a vocabulary list in English. Deaf learners can fix incomplete English sentences with the sensitivity to know the words that can be used to complete the sentence. Deaf learners are unable to make complex sentences, passive sentences and compound sentences due to the complexity of these sentences and the limitations of the research object in terms of language processing senses. Deaf learners can create simple paragraphs and create two simple coherent paragraphs using vocabulary lists and simulations of fixing incomplete sentences. Deaf learners have difficulty processing complex grammatical content. In general, paragraphs contain complex topics that are not relevant to the learning environment of the research object. Deaf learners can use the 5Ws and process consistent and coherent paragraphs using the formulas that have been discussed.

This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Spotify application as a medium for learning English, particularly in enhancing students' extensive listening skills and their interest in using the app. The research employed a pre-experimental quantitative method and involved a sample of 25 students from Class XI 3 at MAN 1 Kendari, selected through cluster random sampling. Data were collected using tests and questionnaires. The data indicate a noteworthy improvement in students' extensive listening skills with the use of Spotify. The average score increased from 55.40 before the intervention (pre-test) to 90.80 after the intervention (post-test). The t-test results showed a significant difference with a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05. This supports the research hypothesis (H1 accepted, H0 rejected), indicating that Spotify effectively improves the extensive listening skills of Class XI 3 MAN 1 Kendari students. Additionally, the questionnaire results showed that the majority of students had a positive attitude towards using the Spotify application for learning. Based on these findings, The Spotify application is an advantageous tool for improving students' listening skills and is widely accepted as an educational resource.

This qualitative study explores students' perceptions of gamification, a strategy incorporating game-like elements into education, to understand its impact on contemporary learning. The objective is to assess whether students view gamification as a positive or negative tool for learning in the classroom. Five students with prior experience using gamification participated in the study, selected through purposive sampling. The primary method of data collection was in-depth interviews. Findings indicate that students generally perceive gamification positively. Benefits noted include increased enjoyment and interactivity in learning, enhanced motivation and competitive spirit, and the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. However, the study also identifies several challenges associated with gamification, namely technical and accessibility issues, potential reduction in personal interaction, an overemphasis on competition, and distractions from educational objectives.

This qualitative descriptive study investigates how English presentation assignments enhance EFL learners' understanding of the material. The independent variable is the English presentation assignment, while material understanding is the dependent variable. The study population comprises all learners from the English Education Study Program at Universitas Negeri Makassar, totaling five classes, with 12 learners as subjects. Data were collected through classroom observations and interviews and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion-drawing techniques. Findings indicate that the implementation of English presentation assignments significantly enhances learners' understanding by requiring them to organize and present information clearly, fostering deeper comprehension.

This study aims to determine how the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum can facilitate the improvement of students' grammar mastery, especially the junior high school students and also, what are the challenges faced by teachers in implementing the Merdeka curriculum. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. The participants in this study were grade 7 junior high school English teachers. Data collection was carried out by observation and interview. Based on the results of the interview in general, participants gave their responses about the concept of Merdeka curriculum and also how the implementation of Merdeka curriculum can facilitate the improvement of students' grammar mastery, especially in grade 7 junior high school students. The data results show that the teacher assesses that the concepts and learning methods in the Merdeka curriculum can facilitate improving students' grammar skills. Teachers also said that the challenges faced in implementing the Merdeka curriculum are the lack of technology-based teaching tools and some students' abilities that are considered not yet at the junior high school level.

The present research aims to improve students' listening skills by using the Gap Filling assignment with Audio-Dialogue. In order to assess how students, react when studying auditory materials that include short stories as a gap filler, this study uses quantitative methodologies. To assess their comprehension of short story audio, thirty-two students took listening assessments. The listening test evaluated things like massage and conclusions. The data was analyzed using the independent t-test and descriptive statistics. The results of the study show that using audio conversations for gap-filling exercises in the classroom can greatly improve students' listening skills. Students need to concentrate on recognizing This study aims to discover specific information in audio speech with a focus on particular listening skills such as key comprehension and employing contextual cues to understand message indicators and conclusions. Students are taught to sift through pertinent material and make pertinent deductions using the gap-filling technique, which is based on audio-dialogue. According to the study's findings, SMP Negeri 1 Minasatene students' listening abilities have improved when gap-filling activities including audio dialogue are used.

This research highlights the use of flashcards application in teaching vocabulary. The study's goals were to discover how students' vocabulary may be improved by utilizing flashcards programs. To fulfill the aims, the researcher performed classroom action research, with 30 students chosen using a purposive selection approach as participants. The result of this research was gathered by multiple tests, they were pretest, a cycle 1 test, a cycle 2 test, and a post-test. The result of this research showed that most of the students had an improvement in learning vocabulary using a flashcard application in the pretest the students could not reach the KKM score, they only could attain 49.00 but after learning using the flashcard application, they achieved 1990 (63.33) for cycle 1 test, 2515 (83.83) for cycle 2 test and 2766 (92.2) for the final posttest.

Universitas Negeri Makassar is a university that implements bold learning by launching the Open Knowledge System and Application Management Application (SYAM-OK). This study aims to determine students' perceptions of the use of SYAM-OK in learning. Three aspects are measured on student perceptions of using SYAM-OK in learning, namely: Learning Process, Capability (Lecturer Competency), and Learning Effectiveness. Researchers apply a mix of quantitative and qualitative methods to achieve research objectives. The data collected was in the form of a Like questionnaire using Google Forms and interviews. The subjects of this study were students of the English Language Education Study Program class of 2020. The sample for the questionnaire was 60 students and the interviews for 8 students were taken using a voluntary sampling technique. The results of the data analysis showed that (1) students' perceptions about the use of SYAM-OK in learning with the classification of 29% of students classified as very positive, 51% of students classified as positive, and 20% of students classified as neutral and no students had negative and very negative perceptions. (2) The results of interviews with students show that the use of SYAM-OK in learning is positive. Therefore, it can be concluded that students use SYAM-OK in effective learning.
