Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the experimental method on students' awareness of environmental cleanliness in IPAS (Integrated Natural and Social Sciences) learning in Grade IV at SDN 003 Bangkinang. The research was motivated by the low level of students’ awareness in maintaining school cleanliness, such as littering, neglecting class duties, and showing little care for classroom facilities. The research method used was a quasi-experimental design with the Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of two classes: Class IV A as the control group and Class IV B as the experimental group. The experimental class was taught using the experimental method, while the control class used the lecture and discussion method.The research instruments included tests (pretest and posttest), questionnaires, and observations. The results showed that the posttest average score of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class. The average posttest score for the experimental class was 87.56, while the control class scored 75.56. Moreover, the questionnaire results indicated a significant improvement in environmental cleanliness awareness among students in the experimental class after the implementation of the experimental method. Based on the t-test, the significance value (2-tailed) was less than 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control classes. Therefore, it can be concluded that the experimental method has a significant effect on increasing students’ environmental cleanliness awareness in IPAS learning in Grade IV at SDN 003 Bangkinang. Abstract

This research shows that the problem-solving ability of fifth-grade students is still low; students have difficulty in understanding problems, planning, implementing the solution, and drawing conclusions on mathematical word problems. The objective of this study is to determine the extent of the influence of the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) learning model on the mathematical problem-solving ability of fifth-grade students at SDN 005 Langgini compared to the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The method used in this research is a quasi-experiment with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research population was all fifth-grade students at SDN 005 Langgini, with Class 5B designated as the experimental group applying the RME model, and Class 5A as the control group using the PBL model. The data collection techniques used were observation and tests (pretest and posttest). Data analysis was performed using the normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing (t-test). The results of the t-test on the posttest data show a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.026. Since the significance value of 0.026 is smaller than 0.05, it can be concluded that there is a statistically significant difference between the average problem-solving abilities of the experimental group and the control group. This indicates that the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) Learning Model has a significant influence on the improvement of the problem-solving ability of fifth-grade students at SDN 005 Langgini.

Abstract

The problem in this study originated from the low level of students' narrative essay writing skills in Indonesian language subjects at SDN 011 Langgini. One of the efforts made to overcome this problem is by applying the Round Table learning model.The purpose of this study is to describe the application of the Round Table learning model to improve narrative essay writing skills with the help of serial picture media.This study used the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method which was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of two meetings and went through four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.The subjects in this study were class IV students totaling 15 people, consisting of 12 male students and 3 female students. Data collection techniques include observation, tests and documentation.Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the skill of writing narrative essays through the Round Table learning model for fourth grade students of SDN 011 Langgini has increased. In cycle I, the average student score reached 66.6 with a percentage of classical completeness of 60%. Meanwhile, in cycle II, the average score increased to 83.4 with classical learning completeness reaching 86.6%. Thus, the application of the Round Table learning model was proven to be able to improve the narrative essay writing skills of grade IV students at SDN 011 Langgini.

Abstract

This research is based on the low results of students' reading comprehension skills in grade IV UPT SDN 004 Birandang Island. One solution to overcome this problem is to use the Scramble learning model. The purpose of this research is to improve students' reading comprehension skills in Indonesian language learning chapter 3 of the Around View. This research method is a class action research (PTK) which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings and four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research time will be carried out in November 2025. The subjects of this study are 14 grade IV students, consisting of 7 male students and 7 female students. Data collection techniques are in the form of observation, tests and documentation. The results of this study can be concluded that the results of students' reading comprehension skills in the material of chapter 3 See Around in grade IV UPT SDN 004 Birandang Island pre-action an average score of 42.86 with a classical completeness of 14.28%, then in the first cycle meeting 1 has increased to 44.64 with a classical completeness of 21.42%, and in the first cycle of meeting 2 it has increased to 64.28 with classical completeness of 42.85%. Furthermore, in the second cycle of meeting 1, an average score of 79.01 was obtained with a classical completeness of 71.42%, and in the second cycle of meeting 2, an average score of 89.73 was obtained with classical completeness of 100%. Thus, it can be concluded that students' reading comprehension skills can be improved by applying the Scramble model.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of critical thinking skills through the application of digital media learning animated videos in Grade IV Students of UPT SDN 007 Pulau Tingg. This research is motivated by the low critical thinking skills of students in the learning process of Pancasila Education subjects in grade IV. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR), which is carried out in two cycles and each cycle consists of two meetings. The subjects in this study were 1 teacher and 20 grade IV students of SDN 007 Pulau Tinggi. While the object is the application of digital media learning animated videos and critical thinking skills in students. Data collection techniques using observation, testing, and documentation techniques. While the data analysis technique used is qualitative descriptive analysis with percentages. Based on the results of research and data analysis, it shows that learning digital media animated videos can improve students' critical thinking skills. This can be seen from before the action, the average critical thinking ability of students only reached 61.25 and was in the less critical category. Then after implementing digital media learning animated videos in cycle I, the average critical thinking ability of students increased to 71.75 and was in the fairly critical category. In cycle II, the average critical thinking ability of students increased further, reaching 85.0 or was in the critical category. Thus, it can be concluded that the talking stick learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills in the Pancasila Education subject of grade IV SDN 007 Pulau Tinggi.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the mathematical problem-solving ability of third grade elementary school students through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on the material of measuring length and weight. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of the study were 17 third-grade elementary school students of SDN 021 Bangkinang. Data were collected through observations of teacher and student activities and problem-solving ability tests at each meeting. The results of the study showed an increase in students' problem-solving ability in each cycle. In Cycle I, Meeting I, only 41.18% of students completed the task with a very poor category. The completion rate increased to 58.82% at the second meeting with a sufficient category. In Cycle II, there was a better increase, namely 76.47% of students completed the task at the first meeting and increased to 88.24% at the second meeting with a good category. This shows that the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model can improve the mathematical problem-solving ability of third-grade elementary school students on the material of measuring length and weight.

Abstract

The background of this research is the low mathematical communication skills of students in class V at SDN 007 Sipungguk. This research aims to improve students' mathematical communication skills using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by animated videos based on local wisdom in class V at SDN 007 Sipungguk. This research is classroom action research carried out in two cycles and each cycle consists of 2 meetings. The subjects in this research were 20 class V students at SDN 007 Sipungguk, consisting of 12 male students and 8 female students. This research instrument consists of interview sheets, teacher activity observation sheets and student activity observation sheets, test sheets, and documentation sheets. Meanwhile, the data analysis techniques used are qualitative data analysis and quantitative data analysis. Based on the results of research that has been carried out in 2 cycles, in the first cycle of meeting 1 students who completed there were 10 students with a percentage of 50% with an overall average of 66 and at meeting 2 it rose to 13 students with a percentage of 65% with an overall average 67.25. Meanwhile, in cycle II, meeting 1, there were 16 students who completed it with a percentage of 80% with an overall average of 68.5, and there was an increase in meeting 2 to 18 students who completed it with a percentage of 90% with an overall average of 79.5. . Based on the results of this research, it shows that by implementing Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning assisted by animated video media based on local wisdom, it can improve the mathematical communication skills of class V students at SDN 007 Sipungguk.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low ability to solve mathematical problems in class V students at SD Negeri 013 Kumantan with a total of 10 students, 3 female students and 7 male students. This research aims to improve problem solving abilities using the Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model based on local wisdom with material on fraction calculation operations in class V of SD Negeri 013 Kumantan, Kec. Bangkinang City for the 2024/2025 academic year. The research method used is classroom action research (PTK) which is carried out in 2 cycles consisting of two meetings each cycle, has 4 stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Data collection techniques use test, observation and documentation techniques. The results of the research showed that in cycle 1 of meeting I, the average student's mathematical problem solving ability (54.2) was in the very low category with a classical completeness percentage of 40%. At meeting II, mathematical problem solving ability increased to (66.9) in the poor category with classical completeness of 60%, in cycle 2 of meeting I increased to average (73.5) in the sufficient category with classical completeness of 80%, then at meeting II in cycle 2 increased again to an average (82.8) in the good category with classical completeness of 80%. Based on the data obtained, it was concluded that by implementing the Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model, it could improve the mathematical problem solving abilities of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 013 Kumantan.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low civic knowledge of students in learning Pancasila education in class V UPT SDN 017 Laggini. One solution to overcome this problem is to use the Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain and Create (RADEC) learning model for class V students at UPT SDN 017 Laggini. This research method is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in two cycles consisting of 2 meetings and four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. When this research was carried out in July 2024. The subjects of this research were 12 class V students of UPT SDN 017 Laggini. Consists of 4 male students and 8 female students. Data collection methods use tests, observation and documentation. The results of this research can be concluded that students' civic knowledge abilities have increased in each cycle, where the percentage results in cycle I, meeting I (33%), meeting II increased to (42%), while in cycle II, meeting I (58%) and meeting II increased to (83%). Thus, it can be concluded that by implementing the Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain and Create (RADEC) learning model, it can increase civic knowledge in class V students at UPT SDN 017 Laggini.

Abstract

This study examines the role of mathematics learning in developing students' critical thinking skills, focusing on the ethnomathematics approach. At SDN 007 Bangkinang and SDN 013 Tanjung Berulak, it was found that students tended to provide short and less in-depth answers in solving mathematical problems, indicating low critical thinking skills among the students. The method used was quasi-experimental, involving 40 fourth-grade students, 20 students from SDN 007 Bangkinang as the experimental class and, 20 students from SDN 013 Tanjung Berulak as the control class. The research instrument consisted of story problems with five questions, each containing four indicators of critical thinking skills. Data were analyzed using an independent samples t-test. The results showed that ethnomathematics learning had a significant effect on improving students' critical thinking skills, with a mean difference of -34.075 and a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The average score of students' critical thinking skills increased to 78.00. These findings support the importance of integrating culture into mathematics learning to effectively enhance students' critical thinking abilities.
