Abstract

The Qur'an contains complete and perfect teachings and laws which cover all aspects needed in human life, especially Muslims. The Al-Quran is the foundation for all knowledge because the Al-Quran explains aqeedah and strengthens a Muslim's faith. A child who studies and understands the Qur'an is expected to have noble morals and be filial to his parents. It is a shame that interest in reading, especially reading the Quran, among some aged children decreases after elementary school. Generally, children stop learning the Quran at TPA after they finish elementary school. They actually spend their time after coming home playing games, the internet, watching, without proper time control so that children are more engrossed in playing with their electronic devices than learning to read the Quran. This research is a type of qualitative research, which is classified as case research. The data obtained came from correspondents, namely children and teenagers as well as parents from the Pasar Senen Village community. This research data was collected using observation and interview techniques. Based on the research results, it is known that the decline in interest in learning the Al-Qurán for children after graduating from elementary school in Pasar Senen Village, Kerinci Regency is caused by several factors, namely: (a) children's factors (laziness, pride, the burden of schoolwork, feeling they can do it) (b) environmental factors (television programs or other electronic media, parental factors and learning factors. As a follow-up to these problems, parents and recitation teachers should provide motivation and instill awareness from an early age in children, that learning the Quran is an obligation that must be carried out by Muslims which is useful for the world and the hereafter. It is necessary to control and manage time for children.

Abstract

PT. Perintis Makmur Indonesia (PMKI) is a smelting company that plays an important role in workforce absorption in the Morowali area. In particular, the mechanical department, consisting of 18 employees, requires an upgrade in pipe welding skills using the SMAW welding method. This is due to the fact that the mechanics are currently only capable of performing plate-to-plate welding, whereas they are required to have pipe-to-pipe welding skills to support their work. To enhance its employees' competencies, particularly in pipe welding, PT PMKI collaborated with the Morowali Metal Industry Polytechnic to organize a Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) training program for its employees. The primary goal of this training was to improve the employees' skills in performing pipe welding safely and efficiently. The training methods included lectures, discussions, and hands-on practice in the workshop, along with evaluations through pre-tests and post-tests. A total of 18 mechanics participated in this fiveday training. The materials covered welding safety, SMAW techniques, and defect handling in welding. The results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding and skills. The initial understanding level, as measured by the pretest, was only 19.8%. After the training, participants' understanding increased to 93.2%, as indicated by the post-test results. This training successfully improved the employees' pipe welding competencies, which are crucial for supporting the company’s operations.

Abstract

This study takes a multicultural approach to the concept of Islamic religious education. Differences are unavoidable in a world that is rapidly evolving as it is today. Often, acts of violence, whether in the form of group sarcasm in religious social life or through differences, do not need to occur. Islamic religious education, as part of religious education in schools, is thought to have helped children overcome this from an early age. This study employs library research to develop a theoretical framework and present the data using descriptive qualitative methods. The findings of this study show that multicultural education for students begins at a young age and is critical in developing an understanding of what differences are and how to respond to them. Accordingly, multicultural Islamic religious education aims to develop students with moral values such as love, assistance, forgiveness, tolerance, respect for differences of opinion and religious beliefs, and other attitudes capable of and supportive of human life harmony.

Abstract

Cocoa is a highly valued plant due to its versatile uses, including being processed into cosmetic products. Hair loss and slow hair growth are common hair-related concerns that can be effectively addressed through the use of hair tonics. Previously, research has shown that cocoa bean can effectively stimulate hair growth when made into a cream. Our research aimed to determine the secondary metabolite content of cocoa beans extract, formulate the extract into a hair growth tonic, and test its physical stability and effectiveness on hair growth in mice. Cocoa beans extracted by maceration method and conducted phytochemical screening. This extract was then used to create three formulations with different extract concentrations of 0.2%, 0.3%, and 0.5%, which were tested for physical stability, including organoleptic properties, homogeneity, pH, and specific gravity. Mice were divided into five treatment groups, hair length growth measurements were taken every week, on the 7th, 14th and 21st days. Six strands of hair were taken from the application area, and their length was measured using a calliper. Results revealed that cocoa seed extract contains flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and phenolics. The formula with a 0.3% concentration of cocoa bean extract showed the best physical stability. Hair growth tests on mice showed no significant difference between the 0.3% and 0.5% cocoa bean extract formulas and the positive control in the second week. The 0.3% formula is the best for ensuring good physical stability and promoting hair growth in mice when used twice daily for two weeks

Abstract

This research aimed to evaluate how enhancers affect the properties of Syzygium aromaticum oil in both water-soluble and hydrocarbon bases. Physical and chemical characteristic tests, irritation index evaluations, and anti-inflammatory activity assessments were carried out to analyze the Syzygium aromaticum oil ointment. The pH tests were conducted to measure the chemical characteristics and viscosity, adhesivity, spreadability tests were conducted to measure the physical characteristics of the ointment. Rabbit-based tests were used to determine the irritation index, mice induced by crotton oil were used in anti-inflammatory activity assessments. The pH tests revealed no significant differences between both of ointments. The ointment in the water-soluble base had higher viscosity and adhesivity but lower spreadability than the ointment in the hydrocarbon base. The epidermis thickness of watersoluble and hydrocarbon-based ointments was 3.81±0.40 μm and 4.22±0.15 μm, while the number of cells with COX-2 expression was 18.24±6.51 and 21.01±5.96. The addition of enhancers did not cause any irritation in either ointment. The study concluded that the formula of Syzygium aromaticum oil in a water-soluble ointment with the addition of propylene glycol and oleic acid (70:30) as enhancers provided better physical and chemical characteristics, a lower irritation index, and higher anti-inflammatory activity compared to the hydrocarbon.
