Abstract

The healthcare service industry continuously strives to enhance patient satisfaction, a key indicator for evaluating service quality and competitiveness. These imperative challenges hospitals to provide services that not only meet quality standards but are also economically accessible to the broader community. Drawing upon the expectancy-disconfirmation theory (EDT) and ServQual model, this study aims to analyze how patient expectations and perceptions regarding tariff, service quality, core service benefits, and location utility influence their overall satisfaction. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from a sample of 110 inpatients receiving general care at Dr. Sitanala National Public Hospital (RSUP Dr. Sitanala) in Tangerang. Structured questionnaires were distributed via Google Forms to purposively sampled patients who met specific criteria. Data analysis was conducted using SmartPLS 3.0 software. The findings reveal that tariffs have a negative and non-significant effect on patient satisfaction, suggesting that while cost is a consideration, it may not significantly disconfirm expectations or is outweighed by other factors. Conversely, service quality, core service benefits, and location utility each have a positive and significant impact on patient satisfaction, aligning with EDT's premise that perceived performance meeting or exceeding expectations in these areas leads to higher satisfaction. This study offers important insights for future research, particularly by examining these variables collectively within an EDT framework and highlights the diverse dimensions influencing patient satisfaction in healthcare.

Abstract

This study explores Islamic law from the perspective of the philosophy of science, positioning it not merely as a normative legal system but as a comprehensive and philosophical body of knowledge. Islamic law is analyzed through the three main aspects of the philosophy of science—ontology, epistemology, and axiology—to reveal its foundational structure and philosophical uniqueness in comparison to other legal systems. Ontologically, Islamic law originates from divine will as manifested in the Qur’an and Sunnah. Epistemologically, it is constructed through a synthesis of revelation and reason, employing methods such as ijtihad, qiyas, and ijma’ in its legal formulation. Axiologically, Islamic law aims to realize justice, public welfare, and life balance based on the concept of maqashid al-shari’ah. This research adopts a qualitative approach using a literature study method and content analysis techniques on both classical and contemporary sources. The findings indicate that Islamic law, when understood within the framework of the philosophy of science, represents a dynamic, adaptive, and continuously relevant system of knowledge that remains faithful to its core principles. This study contributes to the development of a more reflective, scientific, and contextual discourse on Islamic law.

Abstract

This study examines the application of the istinbath ahkam method in the development of Islamic insurance (takaful), focusing on principles and practices aligned with Islamic law. The istinbath ahkam method is used to derive and determine rulings from Sharia sources such as the Qur’an, Hadith, ijma’, and qiyas, as well as supplementary sources. In the context of Islamic insurance, this method plays a crucial role in ensuring that products and contracts are free from elements of gharar (uncertainty), maisir (gambling), and riba (interest). This article elaborates on the basic concept of the istinbath method, the main principles of Islamic insurance, and its implementation in regulations and Islamic insurance products in Indonesia. The study finds that applying the istinbath method not only ensures Sharia compliance but also provides a foundation for product innovation aligned with the objectives of Sharia (maqashid al-shariah), enabling Islamic insurance to grow sustainably and remain competitive in the modern market.

Abstract

Istinbath ahkam is the process of deriving Islamic law from the Qur'an and Sunnah through ijtihadi reasoning, taking into account social context and maqashid sharia. In the contemporary era, ijtihad is a key mechanism in responding to changing times and new issues not explicitly addressed in classical sources. Fatwas resulting from collective ijtihad serve as important guidelines for Muslims facing social, technological, and economic dynamics. Istinbath methods such as qiyas, istihsan, maslahah mursalah, and sadd al-dzari'ah are employed to resolve contemporary issues with an inclusive and contextual maqashid approach. Case studies of contemporary fatwas from MUI and international bodies demonstrate the adaptability of Islamic law to digital financial technology, bioethics, and socio-political and environmental issues. Thus, Islamic legal istinbath remains relevant and responsive in safeguarding the welfare of the Muslim community amid modern advancements.

Abstract

In Mekarsari Village, Sumedang Regency, the registration of waqf land is a persistent problem because many people have donated their property, yet it has not been properly certified. Many people still don't understand how to register land waqf. This will be detrimental to many parties if the waqf land leads to disputes. This service aims to determine the level of understanding of land waqf administration in Mekarsari Village using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, which is an approach aimed at learning to overcome problems and meet the practical needs of the community, as well as producing knowledge and the process of socio-religious change. From the community service activities carried out, it was found that the residents of Mekarsari Village can understand land ownership administration well. The socialization conducted raises awareness among the residents of Mekarsari village to prioritize administrative order in land waqf. The discussion regarding the provisions for waqf land certification was understandable to representatives of the majelis ta'lim groups and several educational institutions from the Mekarsari village community, as well as their commitment to actively and supportively engage with the various dynamics of waqf in society. The community is also able to understand the implications that arise if there is no written evidence in the form of certificates, AIW, or a replacement deed for the deed of waqf (hereinafter referred to as APAIW).
