Abstract

Students have difficulty solving math story problems because they do not understand the context and do not know how to start, due to conventional learning and lack of connection with real experiences. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the RME approach on students' problem-solving abilities in solving story problems. The study was conducted in grade IV of SD Negeri 36 Sorong City using a quantitative method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The instruments used included test questions (pretest and posttest), learning implementation observation sheets, student activity observation sheets, RME syntax implementation sheets, and student response questionnaires. Data analysis techniques in this study were normality tests, paired sample t-tests and -gain tests, then learning outcome completeness tests. The results showed an increase in problem-solving abilities after the implementation of the RME approach. The average posttest score was higher than the pretest, and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test results showed a significance of 0.000 <0.05, which means there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results. The N-Gain value of 0.5750 is included in the moderate category. The classical learning completion rate reached 84% and was in the very good category. The implementation of learning and RME syntax each achieved an average of above 85%, which is included in the very good category. Student activity also showed high results, with the majority of students in the active and very active categories. The results of the student response questionnaire showed that all students gave a positive response to the learning. Based on these results, the RME approach has proven effective in improving students' problem-solving abilities in solving mathematical story problems on the topic of measuring units of length.

Abstract

This activity aims to enhance teachers’ competence in applying contextual mathematics instruction through sports activities via the SportMath Learning program. The program is implemented using a participatory and collaborative approach, targeting mathematics teachers and Physical Education, Sports, and Health teachers. The implementation methods include preparation, outreach, workshops and training, practice and simulation, implementation support, and activity evaluation. The learning activities implemented include measuring running speed, calculating game scores, measuring ball throw distance, presenting sports data in the form of tables and diagrams, and applying geometric concepts on the sports field. The results indicate an improvement in teachers’ understanding and skills in designing sports-based mathematics lessons. Additionally, the implementation of SportMath Learning enhances student motivation, participation, and engagement in mathematics learning. This program also fosters an active, enjoyable, and meaningful learning environment for students. The conclusion is that SportMath Learning can serve as an innovative learning alternative that supports the strengthening of numeracy literacy and contextual learning in schools.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menilai pengaruh penggunaan model Problem Based Learning ( PBL ) terhadap literasi matematika siswa dalam konteks penyajian data. Penelitian ini bersifat kuantitatif dan mengadopsi metode pre-eksperimental di mana penilaian dilakukan dengan membandingkan hasil tes awal (pretest) dengan penerapan model PBL, dilanjutkan dengan tes akhir (posttest) untuk menilai kemampuan akhir siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah soal pretes dan posttest yang berkaitan dengan materi penyajian data, serta penilaian respon siswa setelah diterapkannya model PBLuntuk meningkatkan literasi matematika. Rata-rata skor pretest menurut data penelitian sebesar 49,40 dan rata-rata skor posttest sebesar 75,04. Berdasarkan analisis data, diperoleh nilai sig yang menandakan bahwa data berdistribusi normal sedangkan uji t-test memiliki nilai sig (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan hipotesis alternatif (H1) diterima dan hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak. Rata-rata nilai n-gain yaitu 0,5082 yang berada pada kategori sedang. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan literasi matematika siswa setelah menggunakan model PBL dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematika lebih tinggi daripada sebelum menggunakan model PBL. AbstractThe objective of this research is to evaluate the impact of the problem-based learning (PBL) model on students' mathematical literacy in the context of data presentation. This research is quantitative in nature and adopts a pre-experimental method where assessment is carried out by comparing the results of the initial test (pretest) with the application of the PBL model, followed by a final test (posttest) to assess students' final abilities. The instruments used were pretest and posttest questions related to data presentation material, as well as assessing student responses after implementing the PBL model to improve mathematical literacy. According to research data, the average pretest score was 49.40, while the average posttest score was 75.04. Based on data analysis, a sig value of was obtained, which indicates that the data is normally distributed, while the t-test has a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000. Thus, it can be concluded that the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. The average n-gain value is 0.5082, which is in the medium category. It can be inferred that the average student's mathematical literacy ability after using the PBL model to improve mathematical literacy skills is higher than before using the PBL model. This research article is expected to provide insights for further research on students' mathematical literacy abilities.

Abstract

In mathematics education, the integration of innovative approaches is essential to support deaf students' mastery of mathematical concepts. Students with special needs exhibit learning characteristics distinct from their typically developing peers, requiring educators to possess specialized pedagogical skills that facilitate the development of critical thinking.. Observations conducted at a Special School (SLB) in Sorong City revealed that mathematics instruction remained conventional and lacked teaching materials capable of effectively stimulating critical thinking among students with special needs. This study, therefore, aims to develop an interactive e-module grounded in Problem Based Learning (PBL) that is valid, practical, and effective in enhancing critical thinking skills. The research employed the ADDIE model and involved 10 SDLB students as participants. The resulting e-module received a material expert validity score of 4.46 and an average media expert validity of 3.36. Furthermore, the average student score of 54.09 indicated that this e-module was effective in fostering students' critical thinking skills. In terms of learning outcomes, the average pretest score of 30,100 increased to 84,500 post-intervention, with an average N-gain of 54.00, classified within the “highly effective” category. These findings suggest that the development of PBL-based-e-modules significantly enhnaces the critical thinking skills of deaf and speech-impaired studentsspeech-impaired.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan literasi matematika karena proses pembelajaran yang kurang kontekstual dan bahan ajar yang belum optimal. Berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan, mahasiswa lebih memilih e-modul sebagai media belajar. Oleh karena itu, dikembangkan e-modul berbasis PjBL untuk mendukung pembelajaran yang lebih kontekstual, aktif, dan meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematika mahasiswa.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan e-modul trigonometri berbasis PJBL guna meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematika mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan PGSD Universitas Muhammadiyah Sorong. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahap yaitu Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 48 mahasiswa Program Studi PGSD semester II Universitas Muhammadiyah Sorong. Instrumen penelitian meliputi lembar validasi ahli (media dan materi), angket respon mahasiswa, serta soal pretest dan postest untuk mengukur kemampuan literasi matematika hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa e-modul dapat diklasifikasikan sebagai sangat valid, dengan rerata 4,5 dari validator media​ dan rerata 4,6 dari validator materi. Selanjutnya hasil kepraktisan​ e-modul memperoleh skor​ sebesar 94% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Analisis efektivitas  melalui uji N- gain menunjukkan sebuah peningkatan dalam literasi matematika dengan kategori sedang. Selain itu, hasil uji t menunjukkan signifikansi​ perbedaan (p < 0,05) antara sebelum dan setelah menggunakan e-modul. Dengan demikian, e-modul berbasis PJBL  terbukti valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan siswa literasi matematika dan direkomendasikan untuk penerapan dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

To determine the effect of gender variables (male vs. female) and participation in team sports (individual sports vs. other sports (team sports)). Statistical analysis of data was performed using one-way ANOVA. Data normality was evaluated using KS and QQ plots. Levene's test was used to evaluate variance homogeneity. Missing data in the dependent variable was taken into account, so surveys with missing values were excluded. All data were analyzed using SPSS version 22. Results are reported as mean ± standard deviation and a significance level of 0.05.

Abstract

Digital literacy is an important competency for students in facing technological developments and the massive use of social media. However, the low ability of students to filter information, understand social media ethics, and maintain digital security remains a challenge, especially in the city of Sorong. This activity aims to empower students' digital literacy through the optimization of social media in the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IPM) of Sorong City. The implementation methods include digital literacy education, social media management training, and assistance in creating educational and ethical content. The activity evaluation was conducted using pretests and posttests to measure the increase in participants' digital literacy. The results showed an increase in the average digital literacy score of students from 55% in the pretest to 82% in the posttest, or an increase of 27%. These findings indicate that the optimization of IPM social media is effective as a means of digital literacy education and the formation of critical, safe, and productive social media behavior. This activity is expected to become a model for strengthening students' digital literacy that is sustainable and can be replicated in other student organizations.
