Abstract

Railways are a mode of transportation that is being liked by the public because of its efficiency. The train has its own road in the form of rails, it doesn’t mean the train doesn’t intersect other transportation. The train crossing is a conflict area for public road users with train. This includes train crossing at Kenjeran street. The kenjeran street itself is a national road that is quite strategic because it is one of the accesses to the Surabaya-Madura toll road. The research this time aims to find out the security aspects that must be improved at the train crossing kenjeran street. Including rider behaviour at the time of the train crossing. The method used for this research is direct observation of the field and also shares questionnaires to find out if a public road user understands regulations while on a train crossing. The research results of many signs or road markers are incomplete so that many road users do not know that in front of the train crossing. Other public road user behaviour is also a lot of offense.

The increasing number of motorcycles in Indonesia creates enormous problems because of the hectic involved; thus, parking management becomes a big challenge. The applicability and the possibility of a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) were studied in finding the solution of this pressing issue. The study was conducted at Narotama University which is located in Surabaya, East Java. This study was expected to find solutions related to provide parking facilities using RFID method to identify motorcycles. The goal of this study is to determine the number of motorcycle vehicles which is being parked electronically to facilitate the management in organizing motorcycle in parking facilities. Hence, the management can arrange the requirement of parking system in the future. From the study, it can be concluded that RFID can make the process faster and easier so that the line can significantly be reduced and provide more user friendly system because the system will give the information about parking availability. Moreover, this RFID parking system and the software can be more reliable and secured due to more complete and accurate data in the registration process required to the users.

Abstract

A school shuttle service required to arrive at the destination home on time for the students will not come late to school. However, the shuttle service often gets the incident delays to pick up the students, because the driver must wait for the students who were not ready at the previous pick up. There are many reasons that make those students unready to be picked up. For example, when the driver arrived they were still taking a bath, having their breakfast, getting dressed, and other reasons. The idea to create a mobile application which is able to shorten student shuttle time hoped to solve these problems, we called the application is ‘pick-them-up’. We designed the analysis of business process using Use Case and Activity Diagram, before we built the application. This application is installed on the android mobile phone for the parents, students and the shuttle driver. When the students are ready to be picked up, parents or students will press the ready button on the application. On the driver's screen application will appear the notification explain that the student is ready to be picked up. When the students will be back at their home, they will notice the location of the car through this application to make easier find the shuttle car service. The parents will also get a notification when the shuttle car service will start delivering the students at their home. This application does not only shorten the shuttle time and minimize student delays, but also make the students, parents, and driver more convenient. The test result of this application prototype achieved 100% of suitable features for the users.

Abstract

Many urban people spend time relieving fatigue due to the pressure of saturating work by walking in the mall or for mothers hunting for brand items that are being discounted at the mall, unfortunately when going to the mall it's hard to find a large enough parking lot. Look for a parking lot from the basement floor to the top floor and change from building one to another building to just get a parking space. Most malls do not provide information on the availability of parking spaces and the absence of officers directing to parking locations is still available. Some malls have provided information on the availability of parking spaces but have not yet provided which locations are still empty. From the description above we provide a solution to get a parking space when you want to visit the mall so that it can provide comfort when going to parking and time is not wasted to find parking locations. The parking booking system created will make it easy to get a parking space when going to the mall. With a vehicle number plate identification system and combined with an Android system, mall customers will easily get a parking space.

Abstract

Roads with flexible pavement are pavements that use asphalt as an aggregate binder, so they are much in demand rather than rigid pavement. Road infrastructure requires maintenance whose conditions must be maintained on an ongoing basis. The use of plastic packaging cannot be separated in everyday life. HDPE (High density polyethylene) is high density polyethylene. Based on the problem of the amount of used plastic waste currently available, this research is needed to find out how well the pavement uses the use of HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) plastic as mixed plastic waste. After testing the laboratory and analyzing it according to the General Highway Specifications for normal composition 1 without a mixture of 0%, the asphalt content that meets all the requirements is estimated at asphalt level between 5.6% - 6%. Whereas in composition 2-4 with HPDE plastic waste 4%, 8%, and 12%. From the results of the research with 4 different compositions, it is obtained that the optimal asphalt content composition of HDPE plastic mixture is 0-12% which meets the VIM and stability an optimal 8% HDPE plastic mixture was obtained with an optimum asphalt content of 4.45%

Abstract

The need for transportation facilities and infrastructure that is quite large in the city of Surabaya to the city of Malang is the impact of population growth and increased activity in the city. To support economic, social, trade and education activities between the two cities, public transportation facilities are needed that can meet the needs of the community in terms of comfort and safety. Fulfillment of comfort factors in the use of public transportation such as cheap travel costs, speed of travel time, and accuracy of operational schedules, is expected to increase the interest of travelers to use public vehicles more often than private vehicles. The analysis method used, among others, Descriptive Analysis aims to identify the characteristics of users of the Surabaya-Malang and bus modes, then the Logistic Regression Analysis and Binomial Logit Difference Analysis aim to Obtain a model of selection of bus and train modes in the Surabaya-Malang route, then proceed Sensitivity Analysis which aims to determine the sensitivity of the model of the response of the traveler in determining the choice if there is a change in each attribute of the trip. The results of logistic regression analysis and binomial logit difference, it can be concluded that, attribute / variable X2 (travel time) is the attribute / variable that most influences the mode selection. The sensitivity analysis results can be concluded as follows: Sensitivity to travel costs, the possibility of respondents prefer to use the train mode is greater than the bus. Sensitivity to time, the possibility of respondents prefer to use the train mode is greater than the bus. Sensitivity to the departure schedule (headway), the possibility of respondents choosing to use the train mode will be greater than the bus, if the difference in the headway is between 90-165 minutes. However, if the difference in headway is above 165 minutes, then the respondent will switch to choosing the bus mode.
