Abstract

This research investigates using genetic algorithms (GA) to optimize production scheduling in Medan's shoe industry. The study compares traditional manual and First Come First Serve (FCFS) methods against a GA approach, incorporating selection variations such as Boltzmann, Fitness Uniform Selection Scheme (FUSS), Exponential Rank Selection, and Roulette Wheel Selection. The optimal production order is derived from the chromosome with the highest fitness. Results indicate that GA with FUSS selection significantly reduces production time from 73,630 minutes to 45,650 minutes, achieving a 35% improvement in efficiency. This optimization is attributed to FUSS’s ability to maintain a diverse population, preventing premature convergence and ensuring a broader solution for space exploration. Additionally, it was found that using a smaller population size relative to the number of generations yields better optimization results. The study also demonstrates that while Roulette Wheel Selection shows more variability, it achieves higher optimization over time than FCFS. The practical implications of these findings are substantial for the shoe industry, including faster production cycles, better resource allocation, and an enhanced ability to meet customer demands. These benefits are exemplified by implementing the SISPROMA application, an innovative production scheduling information system that leverages machine learning to optimize scheduling in the manufacturing industry. This study provides valuable insights into applying genetic algorithms for production scheduling, highlighting their potential to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. Future research should explore additional optimization techniques and real-world applications to validate and extend these findings, ensuring broader applicability and continuous improvements in manufacturing efficiency.

Abstract

In this study, we used cosine similarity and k-means clustering to construct a system to predict heart attacks. In order to divide patient data into groups with distinct clinical profiles based on their clinical characteristics, the k-means clustering approach is used. The new patient profiles were also contrasted with predetermined risk group profiles using the cosine similarity method. Heart attack high-risk patients are those with a profile that resembles that of the high-risk category. This suggested prediction system offers numerous benefits and contributions. First, the technique helps identify individuals who are at high risk of having a heart attack, allowing for prompt intervention and treatment. Second, the technology aids in lowering the mortality and effects of a heart attack by foreseeing the possibility of one in high-risk patients. Combining the k-means clustering method and cosine similarity, this system can predict heart attacks with an accuracy and dependability of 93.71%. In order to aid medical practitioners in making wise decisions and enhancing patient care, this research offers fresh perspectives on how to understand and manage heart attacks.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan manajemen program pembinaan Olimpiade Sains Nasional (OSN) di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) di Kota Lhokseumawe. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara dan pemberiam angket dengan informan utama yang terdiri dari kepala sekolah,wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum, guru pembina, dan siswa peserta OSN. Analisis data dilakukan secara induktif dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen program pembinaan OSN di SMA di Kota Lhokseumawe melibatkan beberapa aspek penting, yaitu perencanaan, pengorganisasia, pelaksanaan, serta pengawasan. Perencanaan meliputi identifikasi potensi siswa dan penyusunan jadwal pelatihan intensif. Pengorganisasian meliputi pembagian guru Pembina OSN. Pelaksanaan program berfokus pada peningkatan kemampuan akademik melalui bimbingan khusus dan simulasi kompetisi. Pengawasan dilakukan secara berkala untuk memantau perkembangan siswa dan menentukan strategi pembinaan yang lebih efektif. Dukungan dari sekolah, termasuk fasilitas pendukung dan komitmen para pemangku kepentingan, turut menjadi faktor keberhasilan program. Kesimpulannya, manajemen pembinaan OSN di SMA di Kota Lhokseumawe telah dilakukan dengan cukup sistematis, meskipun masih terdapat tantangan, seperti keterbatasan waktu pelatihan dan dana operasional. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan peningkatan kolaborasi antara sekolah, pemerintah, dan pihak eksternal untuk mendukung keberlanjutan dan efektivitas program pembinaan OSN.

Abstract

Salah satu metode belajar yang dapat diterapkan guru dalam  merdeka belajar adalah metode praktik melalui praktikum. Kelengkapan prasarana dan sarana merupakan salah satu keberhasilan kegiatan praktikum fisika. Laboratorium SMA/SMK diwilayah kota Lhokseumawe dan Aceh Utara telah dilengkapi dengan alat-alat praktikum dan set alat eksperimen Komponen Instrumen Terpadu (KIT) fisika, akan tetapi belum dimaksimalkan penggunaannya dalam proses pembelajaran dan guru juga belum sepenuhnya menguasai peralatan KIT. Maka dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan memberikan pelatihan praktikum fisika dan alat peraga Fisika kepada guru-guru fisika. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi para guru terkait dengan kemampuan merancang media pembelajaran dan mengembangkan metode pembelajaran fisika menggunakan KIT. Metode pelatihan ini dilakukan dengan penyampaian/penguatan materi yang berkaitan dengan materi praktikum dan melakukan pelatihan praktikum alat KIT fisika. Hasil angket respon guru yang telah mengikuti  In House Training yaitu guru setuju kegiatan penguatan praktikum fisika sebagai implementasi kurikulum merdeka belajar sangat bermanfaat, menambah wawasan, sesuai dengan kebutuhan, memotivasi, meningkatkan pemahaman dan kemampuan serta menjawab permasalahan guru dalam melaksanakan praktikum fisika menggunakan KIT fisika. Sedangkan kegiatan refleksi dengan melakukan pendampingan dan monitoring dengan terus menjalin komunikasi untuk mendapatkan feedback kegiatan ketika telah dipraktekkan dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Semakin bertambahnya populasi penduduk menyebabkan kebutuhan akan bahan bakar pun meningkat sehingga dibutuhkan sumber alternatif yang lain. Salah satu energi terbarukan yang perlu mendapatkan perhatian untuk dikembangkan adalah biomassa. Biomassa sendiri dapat dibuat dengan memanfaatkan sampah atau limbah. Salah satu biomassa yang potensial adalah ampas tebu, yang sering hanya dibakar dan dapat mencemari lingkungan. Hal ini menghambat pencapaian Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Intitusi pendidikan dalam hal ini sekolah mempunyai peran penting dalam mendukung program sustainable development goals (SDGs). Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan dunia pendidikan yaitu dengan mengintegrasikan kompetensi SDGs dalam kurikulum merdeka belajar. SMAN 7 Kota Lhokseumawe belum menerapkan kompetensi SDGs dalam pembelajaran. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menumbuh kembangkan kesadaran sosial siswa terhadap lingkungan melalui pengolahan limbah ampas tebu menjadi bahan bakar alternative briket dalam mencegah pencemaran lingkungan. Program ini melibatkan siswa dan guru SMAN 7 Lhokseumawe dalam proses pengolahan ampas tebu menjadi briket, melalui serangkaian tahapan mulai dari pembakaran ampas tebu menjadi arang, penghalusan arang, hingga pencetakan briket. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang pengelolaan limbah dan pentingnya energi terbarukan. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga meningkatkan kesadaran lingkungan di kalangan siswa dan guru, serta mendorong implementasi pendidikan berkelanjutan di sekolah. Program ini berhasil mengurangi pencemaran lingkungan dan membuka peluang pemanfaatan limbah ampas tebu sebagai alternatif sumber energi yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Interest in sports must be done from an early age and requires the right method to achieve the desired results, namely by using the Naive Bayes method. The purpose of this study was to explore the sports interests of students of SDN 3 Tarutung with the Naive Bayes method. The subjects of this study were students in grades 4, 5, and 6 of SDN Jenggolo Tuban who liked sports using data collection methods, namely the Naive Bayes method, Observation, Interviews and practical sports tests based on sport search, namely Height (TB), Sitting height (TD), Weight (BB), Arm span (RL), Tennis ball throw and catch (LTBT), Basketball throw (LBB), Vertical jump (LT), Agility run (LK), 60 meter sprint (L60M), and multi-stage run (MFT). The Naive Bayes modeling system is carried out in two phases, namely training data and testing data. The results of the study obtained were the results of the classification of each student who was talented in sports (football, volleyball, badminton, sprinting, swimming) or not talented in sports (football, volleyball, badminton, sprinting, and swimming). The results of the testing data showed that 7 students were talented in football, 2 students were talented in volleyball, 1 student was talented in badminton, 5 students were talented in sprinting, and 3 students were talented in swimming.

Abstract

Earth science is one of the science fields competed in the National Science Olympiad (OSN) for Senior High Schools (SMA). However, not all schools provide earth science as a separate subject, so students often face difficulties in learning complex and multidisciplinary materials. This community service activity was carried out to train students to face the selection of OSN at the district/city level through structured coaching and field practicums in strengthening student competency in the field of earth science. The method of implementing the activity includes 3 stages, namely the preparation and coordination stage, implementation of activities, evaluation, and follow-up. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in student competency in the field of earth science, on average posttest scores in the range (65-80) compared to the pretest (25-40) on each topic of material, which was also reinforced by the results of the Quizizz application-based practice questions. In the school-level selection, five students were successfully selected to continue to the district-level OSN, and one of them achieved an achievement at that level. Overall, this community service activity has not only succeeded in improving students' academic readiness to face OSN but also strengthened the culture of scientific learning, observation skills, and collaboration between universities and schools to produce a superior young generation in the field of earth sciences.

Abstract

Home selection is a critical and complex decision, particularly in densely populated urban areas such as Medan, where multiple factors including location, price, facilities, and environmental risks must be considered simultaneously. This study aims to develop a Decision Support System model based on the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to assist prospective buyers in making more objective and structured housing decisions. The research evaluated 20 housing alternatives selected through purposive sampling. Assessments of criteria and alternatives were conducted by five respondents, consisting of two property experts, two information systems academics, and one experienced homebuyer, using pairwise comparison questionnaires based on the Saaty scale. The analysis reveals that Location holds the highest weight (0.6333), followed by Income/Property Price (0.2605), and Facilities (0.1062). At the sub-criteria level, Flood-Free Area emerged as the most influential factor with a weight of 0.3533, followed by Property Price (0.1954) and Safe Neighborhood (0.1668). Among the 20 alternatives, Cempaka Lestari ranked first with a score of 0.9040, closely followed by Griya Indah (0.9033) and Anggrek Residence (0.8930). The consistency ratio for all calculations was below 0.10, confirming the reliability and logical validity of the judgments. These findings emphasize that location-specific environmental criteria, particularly flood risk, play a decisive role in homebuyer preferences in Medan. Practically, the proposed model provides prospective buyers with a rational decision-making framework and offers strategic insights for developers to align housing products with market demands in flood-prone urban areas.

Abstract

Research on the Effect of Learning Models (Visualization, Auditory, Kinesthetic) Assisted by the Crossword LABS Application to Improve Concept Understanding has been conducted. This study aims to determine the effect of the VAK learning model (Visualization, Auditory, Kinesthetic) assisted by the Crossword LABS application on students' conceptual understanding and to determine the improvement in students' conceptual understanding. The type of research used is an experiment with a research design used by researchers is a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The population used is class X students of SMA which consists of 3 classes with a total of 75 people. The research sample is class X-2 students as the experimental class and class X-1 students as the control class. The average pretest result of students in the experimental class is 37.2 and the average posttest result is 77.2. Based on the Independent Samples Test, the posttest value with sig. (2-tailed) 0.004 <0.05. This means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The N-gain score for the experimental class was 64.54, which is categorized as moderate, with the interpretation of N-Gain being quite effective. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Crossword LABS application-assisted VAK (Visualization, Auditory, Kinesthetic) learning model has an impact on improving conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Remaja merupakan salah satu tahapan perkembangan dimana individu mulai mengeksplor lingkungan dan mencari identitas dirinya. Dalam tahapan perkembangan, remaja dihadapkan pada perkembangan teknologi yang pesat. Perkembangan teknologi menjadi salah satu hal yang berpengaruh terhadap munculnya berbagai media sosial. Berbagai jenis media sosial kerap digemari oleh remaja, adapun penggunaannya didasarkan pada berbagai tujuan, mulai dari mempermudah komunikasi dan interaksi hingga sebagai salah satu media yang dapat memberikan hiburan. Pesatnya penggunaan media sosial menyebabkan berbagai dampak positif dan negatif yang dapat dilihat secara psikologis, hukum maupun dari perkembangan bidang teknologi dan informasi. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalis dampak-dampak dari penggunaan media sosial yang dilakukan remaja. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 105 remaja di Kota Medan yang diambil dari beberapa sekolah, yaitu SMA Gadjah Mada Medan, SMK Medan Area serta siswa-siswa SMA sekolah lainnya. Metode pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu purposive sampling. Data diambil menggunakan kuesioner yang dibagikan secara langsung dan sebagian melalui google form yang kemudian dianalisis secara statistik. Adapun hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 105  sampel remaja menggunakan media sosial dan memunculkan dampak yang berkaitan dengan aspek psikologis, hukum dan teknologi.
